You step in something slimy. Not again. Not more droppings. You took another step. More sliminess. And the stench. The rest of the way forward was moist and you didn't even want to think of how your shoes were looking. Then came the sound. Ear piercing and echoing off the walls of the cave.

Suddenly, the air grew thick with creatures, flying towards the exit. Shrieking, chirping, and crying. Was that the zubats or people? Leathery wings slapped against your face, your limbs, your back. You caught a glimpse of something shiny amidst the darkness.

Instinctively, you cover your face with your arms. They weren't attacking, but the sheer number of zubats made it impossible to continue on. Your group stumbles back out of the cave.

Magnolia made an attempt to answer Laurence, but her voice croaked at the sight over his shoulder. Even Rho rose to the scene of a multitude of Zubat perched and hanging from the cavern ceiling. Suddenly, in a wave of shrieks and leathery flaps, they fled down the cavern in the direction of the exit.

Instead of answering of her well-being, Magnolia nudged Laurence's direction on the rising crash of Bat Pokemon and encouraged him, with a bellowed, "Run!", to, well, run. Magnolia cried out in unison with others as the Zubats collided with the back of her skull and beat wings through the tangles of her hair. Rho made swipes at the monstrosities, fighting off their presence from him.

By the time Magnolia reached outside again, she fell face-first to the ground, wheezing heavily after losing her breath from her turbulent runs and shrieks. Rho jumped off of her shoulder before he made contact himself, nudging his owner's head to make sure she was still alive and kicking. When he heard her grunt at the touch of his paw, Rho was satisfied. He wasn't in the mood to walk if Magnolia happened to drop dead.

Laurence was right on Magnolia's heels; at the sight and sound of the flurry of zubats, he had yanked Kili off his shoulder and held her tightly in his arms so that she was hidden from view (or rather, echolocation). He rushed out until at last they saw daylight, and at last, safety.

It took a lot of maturity and self-restraint not to say 'I told you so.' Instead, he extended a hand to the twice-fallen Magnolia and said, "Here, let me help you up. Are you all right?"

Kili squiggled free of Laurence's arms and landed on the ground next to Rho. "(Man, those guys were rude!)" she complained. "(We oughta go back and show 'em who's boss! I got an advantage over them anyways,)" she bragged, gesturing a paw toward the bright yellow sacs on her cheeks. Never mind that she had never fought a battle in her life.

Cara was starting to get grossed out. She knew she was stepping in what was probably bat Pokemon guano. Total grossness. The smell was getting overbearing and then THEY started falling from the ceiling. "Not again!" She shouted and started running, after noticing the accessorized Zubat, plucking Spirit from her head and holding her close to her chest. As she ran towards the exit, she made sure to also step carefully, she'd be damned if she fell into the Zubat crap and ended up smelling like a manure truck. Especially when they were so far away from a shower and laundromat. "I knew this cave was a bad idea.." She mumbled to herself as they ran out.

Erika ran with the rest of the group - Blaire being bad a** or no, that was too many zubats to take on.

With much reluctance, Magnolia took Laurence's hand and stood upon her feet. She nodded her head at him, though it was simply a gestured fib. Since there was only one direction to go, she followed with the rest of the group to the others left behind.

Rho rolled his eyes. hundreds,>" he said as he followed after Magnolia.
