"i-I haven't fallen in love!" he sighed slumping in a chair. He knew his colleague was right, but why was there sudden fear in his heart. "I haven't lost my passion Alexis! Though what if something goes wrong!? What if untold evil power awakens in our subjects and they take over the world or something!? I mean, ugh...I don't know what I mean actually!" he sighed burying his face in his hands.
Ratchet had stayed up for a week getting ready for his tasks. The man hadn't gotten enough sleep and it was starting to show. He was known for going too far or pouring way too much passion in his work.
"Y-You're right Alexis." he said shaking his head. I just hope this doesn't backfire on us! Oh well we've come this far haven't we? If the world is doomed, then it was doomed the moment the book was found! he thought trying to calm her nerves. "Forgive me..it's not everyday you see a woman, especially the boss you've known for quite some time, change into a mystical creature right before your eyes! The thrill of studying them is still there..but I'm just a little scared that's all."

Celeste was still waiting for an answer from Finita when she heard Ratchet talking and the fact that he was worried. She walked over him quickly. "We may not know what we are getting into but for me this is the chance to start a new life." With that she went into the room to change out of her clothes and wrapped the towel around her body though the bruising on her legs and arms were now visible. She waited for Finita to give her what ever it was she needed to start the ritual.
Alexis pulled out a needle and a few other things. "I want to get a sample before you go in." The man commented as he cleaned the inner part of her elbow. Once he was happy he put the needle in and drew some blood out. Once he had enough he cleaned the mark and put a band-aid on it. "We'll use this for research." He commented before taking care of the vile. He turned to Ratchet. "If you are going to be useless then you can leave."

Finita's head snapped up as Ratchet expressed his worries.
What did you just call me? There was a low, dangerous tone in her voice, before she sighed and pulled on one of her horns.
If any of the girls wish to leave and not go through with this, then that is their choice. But look at me. I know I've changed. I feel different... like this is... right. Like this is how I'm supposed to be. Not like I should be going around eating people. In-fact I have an insane desire to build something out of clock cogs right now. I don't have the same fear I used to and I don't feel like cowering behind a book anymore.
She then shook her head. Besides, some of them here have no other options... perhaps this would be a positive change for them.
She glanced back at Celeste as she went into another room to change, before her eyes drifted over to Cecelia, then she looked down.
Upon hearing Alexis's comment to Ratchet, Finita glared at Alexis. And that is no way to talk to your co-worker. I may be a Minotaur now but I am still your boss and I still know the most about this project.
Studying a page in the book for a long moment, she pulled a walkie talkie out of the belt over her arm and and spoke something into it, and the construction workers started spreading rocks over the dirt floor of the chamber and planting random things like sea-weed, pebbles, shells and carefully planting still wet coral into the dirt. Into the center was lifted a very large boulder, at least 15 feet high, with a flat top that was about as wide as a king sized bed.
Once everything was in place the whole thing started to fill with water.
She then vanished into the other room after Celeste.
She found Celeste had already changed into a towel, before nodding to her.
I recommend doing some meditation first, Miss Friar. It will take a at least an hour for the chamber to be ready, and the more you meditate the better the results will be.
~~~
I meanwhile was watching the changes to the ritual chamber. It looked like they were building a tropical reef right in the middle of the lab!
((Edited, didn't see Angelmage's post there for a sec))
Celeste nodded as she sat down and closed her eyes. Lucky for her she was a really good swimmer but did they expect her to hold her breath for very long. She cleared her mind but then suddenly a song came into her mind. It was something she was not familiar with but for some reason she knew all the words. She began to hum the tune and then she soon began to sing.
Upon one summer's morning, I carelessly did stray, Down by the Walls of Wapping, where I met a sailor gay, Conversing with a bouncing lass, who seem'd to be in pain, Saying, William, when you go, I fear you will ne'er return again.
His hair it does in ringlets hang, his eyes as black as sloes, May happiness attend him wherever he goes, From Tower Hill, down to Blackwall, I will wander, weep and moan, All for my jolly sailor bold, until he does return.
My father is a merchant—the truth I now will tell, And in great London City in opulence doth dwell, His fortune doth exceed ₤300,000 in gold, And he frowns upon his daughter, 'cause she loves a sailor bold.
A fig for his riches, his merchandize, and gold, True love is grafted in my heart; give me my sailor bold: Should he return in poverty, from o'er the ocean far, To my tender bosom, I'll fondly press my jolly tar.
My sailor is as smiling as the pleasant month of May, And oft we have wandered through Ratcliffe Highway, Where many a pretty blooming girl we happy did behold, Reclining on the bosom of her jolly sailor bold.
Come all you pretty fair maids, whoever you may be Who love a jolly sailor bold that ploughs the raging sea, While up aloft, in storm or gale, from me his absence mourn, And firmly pray, arrive the day, he home will safe return.
My name it is Maria, a merchant's daughter fair, And I have left my parents and three thousand pounds a year, My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold, There is nothing can console me but my jolly sailor bold.
She continued to sing this as the water filled up.
(Thank you Pirates of the Caribbean: At Stranger Tides for the song.)
When Finitas eyes fell on her, Cecelia immediately shut up, trying hard to hold back her giggles. The last thing she wanted to do was offend the woman. She had respect for the scientist and was impressed with her new form. As well as her new attitude. It was kinda inspiring. With a few deep breathes and eyes locked on the floor, she calmed down. The scientists were in a tizzy over all this, but she paid them little mind. She had made her decision and wasn't backing out. So she watched as the construction workers built their new scene and made a guess to what would happen this time. Her stomach growled, but she ignored it. She liked seeing the men create this giant aquarium. She let her thoughts drift as she observed there progress.
(wow all the women/characters in this rp are kind of mean. >.>; Why are so many females in this guild aggresive....)
Ratchet frowned, all that man really cared about was his damn projects. Science was one thing, but dark magic? He still thought it was crazy but whatever. Standing he crossed his arms. "I forgot I was talking to the callous fool who thinks nothing of projects. Excuse me for still having a heart, after all these women are people but whatever! I can tell when I'm not needed.." he gave a shrug then turned to leave.
"I've got paperwork I need to take care of anyway!" he grumbled with annoyance. Maybe he should have been a doctor like his mother had always wanted to be?
(my character was not trying to be mean she wanted him to know why she was doing this.)
((Mine wasn't trying to be mean either. She was an example at that moment; And she was trying to put a posative spin on the whole thing. Yes she was changed, but she hadn't turned into a blood thirsty monster. And she even told off Alexis for being rude to Rachet. It was an attempt to calm everyone down.))
Okami Ameras
((It's alright..^^; I'm sorry Okami I didn't mean to throw drama into your roleplay. Forgive me. ^^; Ratchet will calm down and accept everything, I'm just trying out a sort of different perspective in my character. xD ))
((I think we're good now. There were bound to be some panicked moments from our characters ^^))
Cecelia looked over as two of the scientists finished a heated argument and one stormed off. She frowned and looked back at the workers, them around the room. The argument seemed to upset a few of the people not to mention the man. She hesitated for a moment and followed after him. She didn't like to see people upset, so if she could ease his mind, perhaps the others would calm too. Coming up behind him, Cecelia reached out and touched his arm. As he turned to look at her, her mind went blank. What was she supposed to say? Sorry you're worried, but we are okay with this? Thanks for worrying? I'm sure things will be okay? "Is there... um... something to eat... here?" she stuttered instead. She kicked herself for not being able to say anything more.
Stopping to feel someone grab his arm, he looked at Cecelia with slight surprise. He didn't really want to say that or be that way in front of everyone. Listening patiently to her words he chuckled a little. "Sure, it's just vendor stuff though." he said then turned to lead her down the hall and into the room with the vending machines.
Pulling out his wallet he looked at her. "What do you want? I'm sorry there isn't much here..though there are a few hot pockets left." he stated pointing to one vending machine nearly empty. It was hard to keep this thing stocked. Staring into the eyes of Cecelia he sighed again.
"Yes? Is there something else? You look like you've got something on your mind Miss?" he asked, oddly she had a knack for calming people down.
Time passed, and the pit filled, looking rather muddy.
I watched from my seat, until it looked like a rock sticking out of the shallow ocean. I smiled; even the bottom looked sandy.
Finita stood infront of the glass, flipping through some papers when she glanced over at me. She stepped over as people argued and conversed over the whole contraversy.
I'm afraid I didn't get your name miss?
I glanced up. I smiled at her; she looked kind of pretty like that. Not that she wasn't pretty before, but that had been more along the lines of 'completely adorable.'
Ah! I stood, holding out a hand. I am Silvia, Silvia Ameras.
She shook it, her grip strong but gentle. She paused as she blinked at me. As in... Amaerazing Chocolates? What are you doing here?
I was attacked on my way home from work, honestly. I think it was some stupid competitors looking to get me out of the way to make things easier for them. This was the first place I could get too to hide and, well, I got interested.
She smiled, and I was fairly sure she was blushing. She put a hand over her snout. Ah, the cuteness was back. Well, I am grateful that someone as skilled and influential would take interest!
I laughed. As long as it doesn't interfere with me going to work, I'm good!
She chuckled. I will take note of that!
We sat there, talking as we watched the silt in the chamber settle. I was still sitting on the chair and she sat on the floor.
So what's it like being a Minotaur? I asked.
She smiled. It's... different. I feel... peaceful. And I understand the world around me more. I also feel a fierce protectiveness for those important to me.
I smiled as she looked back towards the chamber.
Who's most important to you?
She smiled wryly. I'd like to say it is my parents, or even a lover. But in all honestly... everyone in this room... And Celeste, Cecelia, and Ratchet... The scientists I work with... they're all important... and I feel like I would take on armies to protect them.
Even me? I asked.
She turned her head to glance at me. Even you.
Eventually, after an hour, the silt settled and there was a perfect representation of a beautiful tropical reef with a large boulder sticking out off the center; it was about 14 feet deep, and the boulder looked easy enough to climb onto from the water. She stood and did that salute from her encounter with the male bull. Then she bowed to me.
You of all people are the only one here out of genuine interest... I started this project to help people, even if some people don't believe it, and yet you come along expecting not to gain a thing except to learn something. Thank you, Miss Ameras.
She flicked a bit of her mane out of her eyes and then turned and strode to the room where Celeste was.
Miss Friar, The chamber is ready. If you would walk with me please?
Alexis frowned. He was truly a child. He didn't know what to do with punks like him. He was only a child genius to the man's eyes. The man had years on him that gave him his brains. When it came for the next person to go he watched. He was glad that this was being recorded. He would review them later. "He still is useless if he can't do his job." The man scuffed.
Lara walked out with the other two.She even frowned when the girl asked about food. It seemed that the girl was only trying to flirt with the scientist. "You know that you shouldn't eat before doing this. You may end up sick and throwing up." She commented.
Cecelia looked at him for a moment then at the vending machine. They were always torture. People didn't exactly drop a lot of change. So these were a tease. Sometimes she was able to get odd jobs here and there, and then they would be an easy meal. "I'd love a hot pocket." she said gladly. She glanced at the other girl. "I haven't had anything since yesterday. I think I can hold it in." she said politely as possible. At his question she paused. She made sure not to look at him, afraid she would lose her nerve. "I saw you seemed to be really nervous about what happened. I'm glad we have something that concerned looking after us." she said. "It makes me feel safer. Thanks." she answered.
