Here it was. The challenge Junko was not looking forward to. Something involving strength. She gulped, looking at the other monsters around her while taking her place at the rope. This would be okay! Monsters were, like, known for their fierce strength! Well, most monsters. She planted her feet in the muddy ground and prayed to Jack she didn't mess this up for everyone. Sibyl had finally been told she had to stop swimming. She was disappointed that swimming time was over but she was sure to say goodbye to all of her happy new friends who cheered as she left. They were so nice! She thought nothing of the rope she was being told she needed to hold onto, practically hanging from it as she pulled with everyone else. Wheeeeee! "What is this?!" Winnifred screeched at the sight of the rope. Dirty obstacle courses, tests?! Who had signed her up for this nonsense because it had not been her! Hmph! She sneered at the other ghosts tugging. Clearly she needed to show them how it was done. "Ugh, this is disgusting," she grabbed the clothing of the nearest ghost to wipe off her portion of rope before she finally held onto it. See? This was how it's done, peasants. Needle stared at the rope for probably longer than she needed to, feeling a little awkward upon looking at it. Too many rituals from home involved ropes (and oddly, one involved tug of war...). But this was supposed to be for fun, right? A friendly sport between all the dorms, right?
She grabbed a portion of rope, found a way to hold it without catching it on the needles from her arm, and pulled.

Suzu rolled her sleeves up and gripped the rope with her fellow demon brothers and sisters. Even though she considered herself quite light compared to most students, she still sunk almost ankle deep in squishy, sticky mud. She even left her lantern on the sidelines to go full out in this event. Missing the first two events already made her feel terrible. Her little heart nearly broke when they came in last for the obstacle course, but her spirits were lifted when the Demons went up a rank during the quiz game. She wished everyone would stay safe. The rope didn't look like the safest one to use... In the place she was holding, little glass shards protruded from the weave. She tried her best to get around it and not cut her hands on it. Cailean blinked down at the rope, half expecting it to bite him as he picked it up. After all that, they just expect us to... Pull a rope? But he shrugged it off as he felt the first tugs on the other end, grinning and shrugging, he wasn't the strongest out there, but he was going to put all his weight behind it, that was for sure! YEAHHH TUG OF WAR! Deshi's blood pumped, her little kitten tail swishing side to side. Deshi had taken her coat off and left it in her dorm room. She wore shorts and an old t-shirt. This event was going to get dirty and she just couldn't wait one more second. She gripped her fingers around the rope, impatiently waiting for the start. The second the first round started, she could feel the rope swing in either direction. She tugged with all her might, but her scrawny little arms did little to help. Horrified didn't even begin to describe how Sin felt about demons being in last place for the cup. She was positively enraged that such a thing had occurred, surely there was some form of sabotage and injustice happening! She strode over to grab the rope and yanked as hard as she could manage. Her heels dug into the muddy ground and while she cringed at the thought of her boots getting dirty she didn't let go.

Blinking a few times if she thought the last few things were hard she didn't really know what hard exactly was considering how weak she was this was NOT going to go well for her she thought of her dorm and took up the rope hoping any little bit could help. Canon was having an... interesting time with her section of rope. The will was there, she was tugging on that section as best she could, a large grin plastered on her face when she wasn't gritting in concentration. But there's only so much a small ghoul can do when her feet can only reach the ground when there's enough slack on the rope. Rikki may not have been particularly strong, but ropes were close enough to his weapon type that he knew how to get a good grip. He tugged hard and dug his heels in. This new, refreshing wave of acceptably normal results had Emily feeling a bit more confident than usual as she took up the rope. As the pulling began she pictured her family watching and tried to put her all into it.
