After doing badly in the first challenge, Lizzy couldn't help but feel a little pressured to do better in this next challenge... Especially since the Demon Dorms did really badly, and came in last. Then again, maybe this blow to the ego would help some of the more snotty Demons be not-so-snotty in the future? Well, it's good to dream.

After taking a seat, she looked nervously at the weapons extending from the cubicle walls before filling in the quiz. As she answered question after question, she couldn't help but feel that it was getting warmer and warmer... And smokier?

Letting out a squeak, she dropped to the floor, and started to roll around, trying to put out the flames that was steadily spreading up her skirt. She then spent a few minutes feeling embarrassed, and hoping that nobody saw that - even if she was pretty sure that someone would have seen that.

Climbing back on the chair, she moved on to the next part of the quiz. While math was never her strong suit, she could handle simple calculations as well as- Is this even written in a real language? She frowned, she tried to read it out loud. However, that only seemed to attract the attention of minipets, as a small horde appeared in the cubicle, and attacked her, tugging at her hair, and scratching her.

Right after she had gotten rid of the minipets, she became aware that there was someone in the cubicle. Someone she didn't recognize. It was difficult to ignore their presence, seeing how they were determined to be as much of a distraction as they possibly could, talking obnoxiously loud as she tried to complete sections three and four.

Since she was in the zone, she kept going, powering through the final section. When she was done, the paper started to glow, and she heaved a sigh of relief, relaxing when she realized how tense she was.

With the obstacle course down, Shun had some time to rest before it was time for the next challenge. Oh great. It was a bloody written exam. The Reaper rubbed his temples and let out a sigh. This was going to go well.

He stared at the quiz's first section, furrowing his brow as he was trying to decipher what was being written. He was trying to answer as well as he could, though spotted someone leaning over to try and see his answers. Silently, he gazed back at them, wondering if they were stupid or insane to be trying to cheat off of him of all people.

Next came math, apparently. There were a lot of numbers scrawled all over the page. Tapping his pencil on the desk for the moment, he found himself being prodded by an Alumni. He batted him away while trying to see if he could really answer anything.

What the hell was this next section? It had weird diagrams of... things. Shun just scribbled whatever he could, and well... it apparently made his paper glow.

The part after that was giving him a headache as he was trying hard to read things properly. There was a lot more text in this section. And worse yet, that blasted Alumni had come back around to prod him some more. The urge to cut him was growing.

But finally, he came upon the final section. Wanting to get things over with, he pretty much wrote whatever he could or attempted to. He'd be surprised if many of the things he wrote down in this whole quiz made any real sense. But once more his paper was glowing. What did that even mean?

Barth went into the cubicle with trepidation.

He did not, in fact, enjoy paperwork. Nobody had said the Cup would involve racing and filling out forms. He was not in the best shape after the obstacle course.

He looked at the sheet in slow misery. He also was loathe to pick up the pencil next to his paper.

It was solid wood.

Which is sort of heavy.

He would have turned in his species discrimination forms and given himself more time for the exam, but that meant more forms.

Barth was also an extremely slow reader, and worse, did not like to be seen reading, since people tended to assume it was something like work and responsibility and the cameras were not making upholding his reputation an easy task.

But he was well-read. Not that it made whatever was on the test make sense. He did his best to ignore the screams of pain from the other cells/cubicles, knowing how they felt, and painfully and laboriously filled out the section on History. There was one page on recipes, which Barth (using a subtle, unpatented, and only partially magic device) double-checked against several surrounding cubicles.

He did not use the other cubicle's answers.

He was completely wiped after the arduous History section. The pencil felt like he was trying to use a tree. One of the other demons was taking a nap. Their House was already in last place, which he felt he could take some pride in, and nobody could say of him he'd put in an extraneous amount of effort-

Something very slippery crept inside his nose, and around his waist.

Barth did not react quickly, but he did drop the pencil, and his thorns constricted with displeasure, before he compressed them with a sharp crunch. Now was really not the time- it was in his ear.

Barth was not a particular sort of person.

But this was just. Not pleasant.

He struggled and the grip, and wetness, and outright violation intensified as Barth did his best to concentrate on the violent parade of numbers and human anatomy. He couldn't even identify the substances or appendages involved. And while Barth had a very difficult temper to stir, West would probably have been proud of the ensuing snap.

Wet Willy was ejected from the cubicle with a bristling cage of thorns. The vines took charge of the pencil and paper, which were addressed with vicious accuracy.

What happened to the bear was even less pleasant.

Cailean wasn't sure how he'd gotten into the cubicle, and yet there he was. In a cubicle. It was an obnoxiously cramped feeling space, and the... Rather horrific, and fascinating machinery that lined the walls was nothing at all he wished to become acquainted with, yet he got the eerie feeling it was a distinct possibility. A small laser light flicking on and zipping toward him was his immediate cue to stop procrastinating and sit down and start writing.

As he started in on the quiz, just when he started to think he might be doing well, an odd question showed up among the others, briefly stealing his focus away from the answer he was in the middle of writing. Trying to skip over a question nearly got him set on fire, but he yelped and jumped to the side to avoid it before quickly scribbling down an approximate answer, however finally being able to focus on the question written in a strange language proved to be a mistake, as as soon as he tried sounding out any of the words to make sense of them, a small fuzzy minipet jumped up onto his desk, bewildered at how such a thing would be allowed in here, he tried moving it, but only succeeded in being bitten and mauled by the small critter, dropping it onto the floor didn't help, and so he was forced to attempt to finish the page while fending the small beast off... Thankfully it squeaked and skittered away to harass someone else when he turns to the next page of questions.

The next pages were almost entirely math! He sighed, his shoulders slumping in a rather bored dejected manner, yet he did pretty well answering the questions. Even if he hated math. However his caretaker had loved the meaningless babble, and so he did alright this time. Even if he was positive some of the questions were more esoteric code rather than real math.

His ear twitched happily at the next section, he hadn't been at the school long, but he was always curious about the Human world, and so he did pretty well, even if one page didn't seem to be a question at all, and just... A list... Was he supposed to add to it, notice a difference in the items, what?! He opted to just ignore it and go on to the next section.

He quietly read aloud the first question, but then... Nothing. Cailean wasn't aware of anything between reading the first question of that section, or the time it took him to switch to the next. No words, just a huge lapse of time. And the disconcerted feeling of lacking control over whatever he'd written. Or done. And the odd thought that whatever a 'Yog-Sothoth' might be, he really wasn't sure he wanted to think about it...

Best to finish this and be done with it and forget this ever happened. He'd started in on the next section quickly, perhaps a bit over-eagerly, yet halfway through he paused, staring.

He stared at the strange language on the page in annoyance for several minutes.

It was back.

And he wanted nothing to do with it.

But as the horrific tools and machines lining the walls gave an ominous beep and the whirr of a saw blade, he grimaced and set to work on the new questions, trying, much more quietly to puzzle out the strange language, certain he'd seen it before. And that's when the group of hooded figures started filtering into the room through a door. A door he'd missed previously and forgotten he'd walked through to get into this room (He had been quite exhausted from all that running before). They seemed all too eager to drag him off for some unknown cause and reason, and he didn't like it. He tried fighting them off a bit, scribbling down answers between shoving them away... But after a while he gave up, he couldn't answer the rest of the questions anyway, and the cubicle was far more intimidating than being drug off by some hooded figures.

Lihua sat down and looked at the paper in front of her. She knew it would come to this. Tests, quizes were not her thing. She was going to give it her all.

The first page was suppose to be history but when Lihua looked down all she saw a page taken from a cookbook. It was very strange to Lihua. However the recepies did look good to her. She carrfully teared off the page and folded it to put into her pocket. She concentrated on the next part of the quiz.

Oh how I love thee...

"what is this?"

It looked like the page was taken from one of the professors. She looked at the professor in question and his love interest and cover her mouth to stiffle a laugh.

The nrxt psge seemed easy enough. She didnt understand any of the pictures and stuff but she was once a human herself right?....

She looked at the person next to her from the cirners of her eyes. It looked like tbey were trying to copy off of her paper.

She sighed not literature. She wasnt in the moood to read long paragraphs and answering questions about the paragarph she just read.

She looked back at the person next to her from the corner of her eyes to see them looking straight at her.

The person covered their paper and frowned. Lihua quickly grabbed
her quiz and looked for another seat to seat in.

The last part was general studies. She didnt even remember any of these being taught in class.

Hel, like a few others, was feeling dubious about this whole quiz thing. First, how was it relevant, and why did it matter? Who cared about brains? It was all about raw power. Not that she doubted her amazing ability, because it was not to be doubted, but it was the less than proficient ability of this quiz. Yeah. This quiz couldn’t handle her, obviously.

Assured of that, Hel chewed on the end of her pencil as she looked over the first section. She squinted at it. “Amazing.” She gasped, and she quickly snatched up the cook book page and stuffed it down the front of her tunic. Halloween History? Easy. The next section, not so much? Hel stared down at the math part as if it offended her, because it did, and before she could even starting jotting down random answers, because this wasn’t worth her time, she was struck by lightning.

Hel now had a fro.

“Jackin’ A.” She muttered, one hand trying to smooth down her hair while the other pulled her test away as a spurt of blood drizzled across her desk from another cubicle.

She jotted down “C” for all the answers in the math section.

Her attitude improved as the Human Studies section rolled around…even if those diagrams weren’t accurate. Oh well! She felt pretty good regardless and even found another list! Awesome. She tucked that away with her cook book page as well. Then was the next sextion…aw yeah.

Hel had this in the bag. She was all over that romantic s**t. Yanno…sappy and fuzzy and heart bleeding romantic stories and poetry…yes. Her little secret…between this quiz and her…

Last part! Hel was losing interest so…she stood in her chair and peeked over a cubicle at some other student and then sat down and jotted the answers. It wasn’t cheating…it was using your outside resources to double check your answers.

Myr was completely unsurprised when the next event ended up being a test, but unconcerned as well. They had proved to be decent test takers, the whole school, and it would be interesting to see just which group was the smartest. Or the best at test taking anyways.

He chuckled to himself, and then picked up his pen. Now to see just what he was up against.

He opened up the quiz, staring down the History questions. Most of them made sense, but others just felt out of place, and...why were those ones in code? He was confused, but started to work on answering them anyways. Some of them were harder than others, but he still felt as if he did alright.

The next two sections, Math, and Human studies, were easy. He filled out the answers, pleased that he actully knew these things. Apparently he had been learning things..though he did have the strangest feeling that somebody was copying his answers. Maybe he was just imagining it.

The literature section was a little harder to understand, filled with lengthy passages of writings, and, for some reason, more code. He was starting to think that it was a trick, but he worked his way through it.

Finally, he was almost at the end, and the questions had just started to get weird. There didn't seem to be anything in common with the questions, and the code wasn't even the same as the previous ones. Still, he continued to work, until he had finally finished the last question.

There. That was it.

Danny hated tests. She hate hate hated them. Not for the intense despair and teeth-pulling-painful experience of taking the test, but for the immense disappointment that always came when she thought she'd earned at LEAST a C, but only pulled a D (or worse yet, an F).

So sitting down to the quiz for the cup, she wasn't feeling that confident. She tried to shake it, for the good of the demon teams, but it wasn't looking so good.

The second she sat down and unveiled her quiz, the chair snapped and fell into a deep pit. It was sad, this actually brought a smile to her face. She'd rather be doing something physical like climbing out of a pit than facing quiz problems that were difficult and detrimental. Unfortunately, it didn't leave her much time for the questions, but it was in a subject she didn't know anyways.

Next was math. It looked like another language, all the squiggles and lines- what the ******** was an integral anyways?? She didn't read it out loud, because she didn't know how to pronounce it in the first place. So instead she just sort of stared blankly at her paper.

At this point, Danny gave up. There was just no use in trying to pick her ever-empty brain. So instead she peeked over at Edel's paper. Now Danny didn't like Edel, but even she knew that the ghoul was a genius. Actually, the fact that Edel was so smart may have just made Danny hate her more.

So Danny spent the rest of the test writing down nearly word for word what Edel did. Yup. Good plan. Go demons.

Lock sat down very quietly at his seat, not really saying much of anything. A quiz was a quiz, and he actually kind of liked learning. Considering most of his time thus far had been spent on this ludicrous festival, he was actually quite pleased to see that some actual SCHOOLWORK was taking place at this SCHOOL.

He was a tad flabberghasted to find that the first section (Halloween History) was questions that a scareling could answer. Things like "Who was the first Pumpkin King?" Wow. Just wow.

The next sections were written in a series of strange dots, which at first confusing Lock. Upon realizing it was a code, he took his time decoding it, setting up the system on the left of his page, and filling in his answers on the right. Because of this, it took him a while to get through the next two sections, so he probably missed a few. It wasn't too bad though. Nothing unbearable.

He was equally baffled by the next section, though for a different reason. It was "halloween literature" and the majority of the questions were on famous authors from subterranean areas of Halloween- stories he'd been taught about his whole life. Famous poems like "To the Darkness" and "Avoid Sight." Jacking fantastic. Another glowing perfect section.

The last section he continued to fill out quietly, when he noticed someone copying off his test. It distracted him for a moment, twinge of annoyance on his face, but he kept it to himself. They probably needed the help. It wasn't his fault they were lagging behind.

He finally finished the last problem and set his pen down quietly. Good to go.

Maple could have almost cried when she saw that the dismantled course that she - and everyone else - had been subjected to was turned into a testing area. A quiz, a test, something about intelligence. Nice and safe (well, when she first sat down anyways. Then the walls changed with a loud clank and were covered with dangerous stuff) but something she knew she could possibly do (just don't look at the walls!). Of course the witch did have some rattled nerves, like always, but this seemed so much better than trying to have to physically exert herself. With the most relieved sigh (not looking at those walls, nope), the little witch sat herself in her designated little cubicle and flipped over the first page to begin the testing portion. And tried not to think about the walls.

Her eyes scanned the first page a few times, perplexed for a moment as she stared at a few of the presented questioned. A few of them seemed ridiculously easy while a few others, well, they caused her breathing to rapidly increase. They were confusing, they were scrambled up and contained odd symbols that didn't need to exist and were just a mess of slop. Flipping ahead a few pages of the history section revealed several questions like this and the little witch was ready to place her head in her hands and just hyperventilate... until she just stared at one of the damnable questions and something clicked. A pattern emerged and she realized the thing was written in some sort of stupid code. Shaking a little, Maple scribbled a few things down and pushed her brows together in pained relief to find that it worked on several other questions that had a similar problem. The history section was then finished with no need for a melt down. And then it was onto section two.

Math. Dreaded math and she might have been one of those who screamed if it wasn't for her over-drive dread that was still fueling her from the last section. Because she just stared, pouting and got to work, attacking the section with extreme pessimism. And was clearly surprised when the page began to glow a bright orange as she flipped over the last page. Huh.

Maple found herself sucking in a deep breathe when she got to each of the next two sections, Human Studies followed by Literature. The next two sections read as the first, with parts written in odd fashions which she had to device and decipher. And of course it wasn't going to be easy, they didn't follow the first one's pattern and seemed to need their own sets of code. Pictures bled together, words were jumbled in each section in their own special way (the human section... just... well, not like she really knew much else than what she read), so many things didn't make sense but she was a clever witch (or like to think so) or perhaps just frustrated at the point, and managed to work both sections out thanks to scrap pieces of paper and forceful scribbling out of ideas. Each section was done and dealt with with a small fury in her eyes and an extreme pout. Tests were what she could deal with, but maybe on not on this scale. (But really, she should be expecting this by now!)

The last section though, Maple turned the page and found herself staring at a hodge podge of questions and so many that never seemed to be in any curriculum she had seen before. But... they seemed... manageable. And her pen snake found itself almost writing and filling in sentences on its own. The last section was completed, a glow akin to the second portion greeted her with the final flip of the page. Perhaps it was a mark of completion, she wasn't sure but as it was. The test was done and she at least hadn't broken down from it. Beaten you test, beaten you! (Oh Hecate, she had beaten something!)

The first thing Olivia did after being seated was to look around in her small little cubicle. Her fingers gripped the edge of the desk lightly as her head turned this way and that, it wasn't such a large space so it was a pretty quick sweep of its appearance. And it was very plain and boring. But that instantly changed the minute she looked away, and the walls that surrounded her were then decorated with some very interesting things. And sharp things. And things that looked like they might hurt...

Olivia didn't really get to stare at them long enough, or contemplate them (not like she would much) when a trap door opened up right at her feet and she plummeted into a hole. Never did really figure out what most of those questions were in result, since she had to climb her way back out. This felt very similar to that first course (at least there wasn't fire though, right?) One single question was answered when she was back to her desk, it was an easy one that even she could remember. Well, hopefully. Getting the writing instrument finally in her hands, even as sore as they might be from having to get out of a hole in the ground, was often cause for... well, tests not being taken seriously.

Because doodles ensued on the margins and well into the second section, so to say the least not even the distractions of Wet Willy were needed. They were more of double distractions and she flinched when she felt him do as his name entailed. 'cause it just felt really really weird. The young ghoul stared at him a good while, wondering what he was doing (and why) before she held up her page and showed him her work in progress. OuO Somehow, Olivia actually managed to do some math along the way. The really easy problems, and strangely one of the ones in code without realizing. And doodles. More doodles. But those came to a stop in the third section when something shot out from a cubicle wall and impaled her into the one in the back (the poor person in the cubicle behind her, having to see a new item show up).

Olivia had let out a small noise when the spiky item struck each of her shoulders, but let out a little cry more when she realized her dress had been ruined. She liked this one too.... and so, on the wall she was for some time until she got herself down. Would she have enough time to do anything with Human World Studies, she wondered. Would she be able to draw on the pages? She pondered for a moment and just decided to leave it blank (it was hard not to leave a mark) but there were still several other sections to work on after all, so she just kept going and worked. Well, as best as she could. Because many of these questions were hard, and though naturally not a cheater she found herself looking up and over, somehow, at someone across from her. And just in time as someone looked over at her. A silent staring contest commenced on the spot, neither daring to move (and herself amused from starting a game). Staring... staring... staring. Until the boil swiftly turned away (in defeat?) and her eyes returning to her confusing test. Which was then graced with a few more pumpkins until she turned over the last page to go onto the next.

A bear jumps into your cubicle, what do you do? the line atop of General Studies read, Olivia's lips moving as she read the sentence silently aloud. It wasn't something she had asked herself really, having never given it some thought, but soon the ghoul found out exactly what she would in fact do in such a situation as her ears picked up the sounds of a growl and within seconds a very angry looking bear found its way into her cubicle. Olivia found herself jumping out of the way - avoiding the pit that was still there- mostly for the sake of not having a giant bear landing on her small frame (probably wouldn't be pleasant). And so she stared, it stared back, and it wouldn't be Olivia if she didn't have a smile on her face. She had never seen a bear before, only in pictures, and this was terribly exciting! It didn't share the same sentiment as it growled and roared and then lunged. But it didn't get that far, that hole was still there and was just large enough to cause it to trip and not quiet reach her but not big enough for it to fall inside. It was stuck, its lower legs entrapped as its upper arms flailed about. Olivia thought it was cute really and knelt next to it, reaching out to pat it on its head. Well, that was the thought and the intention, until a large paw grazed her arm, leaving a large scratch. "That was mean." She scrunched her nose, smacking him instead. Not much else got done with the test as a result, because OIivia was trying to pet the bear without being attacked. Let her love you, mister bear!

Aymet sat down at one of the armed and ready cubicles, hardly even giving the machines a glance.

Smiling to himself, he filled out each section one by one, even as one section began to glow and the remaining questions descended into a strange code. He only paused to give the unfortunate student who tried to cheat off of him a warning look from the skull on his shoulder.

Despite the time between the the challenge she was currently facing and the challenge she first partook in, Clara was feeling exhausted. Plus, knowing things wasn't exactly her thing, so it was no surprise when Clara stared blankly at the first section, "Halloween History", panicking on the inside as she read through each question and finding that she didn't have the slightest what the answer was. Clara was in the middle of writing absolute nonsense on her second question when the lights seemed to dim and something sticky started dripping down the side of her head...

By the time Clara came to, she could tell that everyone else was well into the second section. Clara breezed through the next to sections with surprising ease, although some of the questions seemed beyond impossible to solve.

The next section came surprisingly easy as well....kind of. Answers Clara never knew seemed to flow into her head, and she had her suspicions. Maybe someone was trying to help someone else but instead of sending the answers to the correct person, the answers had been sent to Clara? Clara kind of sat there, staring at the test, torn between answering the questions on her own and listening to the voice inside her head. In the end, even if she tried to write down her own answers, the answers given by the mysterious voice resonated in her head and she couldn't write down anything else no matter how hard she searched for her own answers because she simply didn't know the answers.

Down to the last section, Clara stared at the test with surprise. Here was another section she sort of knew the answers to? She quickly scribbled down her answers, now physically and mentally exhausted.
