T’arn and Tahmoth - Damage Post
Agility: +3
HP: 32/35

A moment later, the green squawked in alarm and irritation as a stray strand of Thread draped across her tail. She was quick enough to between away and back before it could cause more than a cursory surface score, but nonetheless she was a bit sheepish as she mindspoke the brown again. Shows what I get for stopping to talk, I suppose.

[Malta and Poecileth
HP: 32/35
Agility: +1
Zenith wing]

said Poecileth to Emerath, she said, her voice filled with warmth and a kind smile.

Lophorinth...?> she sent, having noticed the blotch of dark ichor on his blue hide, on her way to take more firestone from Malta,

She saw the clump and sent flame after it, but there must have been some gas she wasn't aware of. The flames burst from her like a wave, incinerating the whole clump and some other smaller ones around it that now fluttered down as harmless ash.
she said, startled,

Poecileth was distracted, and Malta was as surprised as her dragon was by the sudden burst of flame. Then, something made her look up... to see a clump of silver bearing down right for her.
"POE!!!!" she screamed, flinching as it drew closer.

Damage Post
[Malta and Poecileth
HP: 27/35
Agility: +1
Zenith wing]

Poecileth's eyes went yellow white with terror. Malta was in danger! The danger came from above. She dipped her wings and dove, barrel rolling so that Malta was protected. She failed to repress her cry of pain as her belly was scored and she went between and popped back out, shaken. She righted herself.
her eyes still gleamed yellow, her normal calm demeanor anxious.

Malta gripped Poecileth's neck ridge, bent nearly parallel, trying to make her heart stop beating like a rabbit's.
"I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm fine. I'm fine." she said, as much to herself as to her dragon.

Poecileth looked back, just to make sure. Relieved, her eyes slowly faded back to green/blue, though yellow danced at the edges. she said, her voice sounding, for once, uncharacteristically tired.

Malta was, for once, the calmer one.
said Poecileth. She was not happy at herself. She should have controlled her flame better and not been distracted.

said Malta, feeling brave.

said Poecileth, returning to her position in the wing.

((Rolling the right dice would be useful...))

With the second wave in full swing Acriculeth was really starting to feel his Threadscores. Every jump between to evade a clump he couldn't flame was like having wounds ripped into him anew. While they had no plans to shine brightly in the sky and work their way up to wingleader however they also had no intention of appearing weak. The weak did not do well in the wherholds, no matter what position of power they wanted they needed to be competent in fighting Thread and fighting others of their kind.

With this in mind the sleek bronze did his best to ignore the injuries littering his glossy hide and gulped down the firestone A'nos had just thrown him before blasting away a great swathe of Thread. For all he tried to ignore his wounds however they slowed him and when he felt a warning fro his rider - Thread from above! - he already knew he could not react in time, not even to get between. Bracing himself for the pain the bronze used what energy he had to twist his body, ensuing his rider would be safe from harm.

The wide web-like knot of Thread struck the bronze across his left flank and haunch. The pain hit A'nos too and the Harper had to spend precious moments focusing on a reference point to get them back out the other side before Acriculeth could jump between.

When they reappeared the ragged wound was obvious, grey-grey seared flesh where bronze hide should have been. Eyes flashing grey and orange-red Acriculeth swooped back into his place in formation. For now, they would press on.

Commented Z'radi, noting the injuries about them,
Rotatonth murmured, her attention where it should be: the thread falling. She released the last of the flame she held, scorching a small patch and dodged a falling clump expertly, reaching back for more stone. She murmured, returning to her task.

Mirath
Agility: 0
HP: 56/59

Mirath and Lia scanned the skies, trying to look in different directions so as to monitor as much of their area at once as possible. They did not want to be surprised by stray Thread again. Tense moment passed, then... Lia pointed towards a falling strand twisting in the wind. Mirath needed no further instruction, carefully angling herself towards it while keeping out of reach of its erratic descent. Lia waited until it was just within reach before spraying it with a burst of flame.

[Malta and Poecileth
HP: 27/35
Agility: +1
Zenith wing]

Poecileth flew on, cringing in pain. She had never been good with pain, and neither had Malta. That might have been a part of why Malta had become a healer.
But she would endure. Both knew they had to do their part in this Fall, as in all other falls, so that they could survive. The Wherholds did not play to their strengths as much as Poecileth had hoped, so they had to shore up their weaknesses.
She blew another dainty stream of flame at the thread, a little afraid her breath would WHOOSH out again. But it didn't, though she knew she would have to find the balance between control and power soon.

They were still healers at heart, and when Malta noticed the bronze returning to formation with an ugly grey-green wound marring his shining hide, she relayed her worry.
<Acriculeth? Mine wishes to know if you are all right> as did she. If a strong member of their wing like him had to drop out then there would be more pressure on other dragons to deal with the silver menace, pressure she wasn't sure she could stand up to with her dainty flame.

V'ell and Zarth
Agility: +2
HP: 29/37

Hey, isn't that A'nos and Acriculeth?

The greenrider craned her head curiously, as did the green. They had met only briefly at the rescue from Trine... but while V'ell had a fairly longstanding prejudice against bronzeriders just on principle, Zarth had no such inclinations. She'd rescued his rider once. And they were both Wherhold dragons. That put them on the same side.

At the moment, the bronze seemed to be struggling, a web of Threadscore freshly marring his hide. Against her rider's furious mental protests, Zarth dropped a bit out of formation, bespeaking her fellow dragon directly. Acriculeth! Are you all right?

Turning her head, she coughed a small burst of flame onto a few stray filaments as they passed her, then edged out of the way of the charred ash.

[Malta and Poecileth

This time she saw the thread as it fell towards her. Her flame shot past it into empty sky and she dodged... not fast enough. She blinked between and reappeared, a new score on her foreleg.

I hope our luck isn't running out... thought Poecileth worriedly, trying to shield the thought from Malta. She succeeded partially.

said Malta reassuringly, checking,
Poecileth looked up at the still-oncoming thread,

There weren't many dragons Acriculeth genuinely liked. He felt a kind of kinship with Tatath and he certainly liked to look at her but Zarth... Zarth had saved his rider's life and he had not forgotten. The other green speaking to him was of little consequence but as she had addressed him he saw no harm in including her in his response.

he replied dryly, turning his head to aim at the next tangle of Thread. To Zarth alone he added; his tones softening with unaccustomed genuine gratitude.

Perhaps he could afford to take more cues from A'nos, having people willing to help you when you were in trouble was a great relief. As for friends.... The bronze fuzzily recalled a sleek bright green shape diving to a bright body of water, scooping up his unconscious bondmate and carrying him to safety. Acriculeth remembered because he made himself remember, he recalled it every day so that the memory could not face. He still didn't know what to do about it but he knew that it was important.

Damage: 8
HP: 17/58

Though his body ached and was slowing there was nothing at all wrong with his flame. Sucking in a mighty breath Acriculeth burned a huge swathe out of the wave of Thread before him, then turning his head to the side to spit a short jet at a knot plunging towards one of his wingmates. As he did so however another tangle spun his way, borne up from above by the gusts of dragon wings. With no way to have spotted it he could not evade it and the long strand whipped into his belly where it began to burrow beneath the surface. Once again the bronze disappeared from the sky, seeking the icy chill of between to shake off the ravenous organism.

Ja'kki and Emerath // Burn Post

Poecileth recieved a mental brush of gratitude in response before Ja'kki pulled Emerath's mind back to her task. The little green's focus was wavering as the wherhold's wings took a brutal beating. It was barely halfway through the Fall and already some dragons were looking far worse than they should. This isn't good...

No. It just means we have to work harder to pick up their slack. Ja'kki fed her more firestone, prepping her for the next patch to come within range.

[Z'radi and Rotatonth
HP: 28/35
Ag: +2

Rotatonth flamed, a glorious spear of fire that toasted a clump of thread headed for a wingmate.

her voice had a note of frustration towards her rider.

Z'radi shrugged. Hey, she could have some pride. It wasn't going to kill her, was it?
