"Listen, just because you floated the Queen's canoe, doesn't mean you have the same effect on mine."
he snapped irritably. "You scuttle my boat, not float it."

He leaned on Jordan - who totally wasn't shaking with laughter at all - as he gave Jerry a smirk. "But right. You got a like a key thing on your haun. In all seriousness, I wouldn't rec wanking or doing anything at all till you get it looked at, or at least get an idea where it came from. The potential for horrible, horrible things is pretty ******** high. And I don't want you to be the reason I get murdered."

Jerry sank down into his chair, looking miserable, embarrassed, and doomed. "Thanks, guys."

"Replacing you would cost a lot more than keeping you," Jordan said after a moment, when he'd hauled his voice and expression under control. He reached out to pat Jerry's shoulder reassuringly. "So it's a fair bet that you'll be fine. Let me know what you find out about the key, okay?"

He gave Jerry a neutral, gentle smile, and said absolutely nothing about the innuendo.

"Don't look so ******** grim man. You are still alive. Here that's half the ******** battle. And we'll be alive after this mission too. And then you can sort out your like. Handkey problem." He looked thoughtful. "Maybe you can name it after you when its out. Like you know how those little bars they give you in ikea are called Allan keys? Maybe the pattern thing you have can be like, a Jerry key."

Jerry glared at Rep for a moment before pushing his glasses up his nose. Well. If it was going to explode or something it hadn't just yet. And hopefully wouldn't. So far it had just... been a mark. It didn't even itch. "I wish they had brought us coffee. I feel like crud. I'll file a report right after we get back."

If they came back. That was always a burning thought in the back of his mind. If something had happened to the division leads, as strong as they all were, then what did they hope to do about it?

"You wish they'd brought us coffee," Jordan grumbled, very quietly, then pulled the grumpiness under control again. "We'll be fine," he said, after a moment, and smiled. "If we get back to complain about it, we're going to be fine. And if we don't -- hey, what do we care anymore?" He leaned back against Rep and offered Jerry a quiet, confident grin, an expression that A-One might have had under the gasmask. "We can do this."

Dakota finished the pizza slice, licking his fingers and pointing at Ryan and Otto. "I have an iron stomach."

After that he toddled off like a puppy to Candace, wrapping his arms around her waist and settlign his chin on her shoulder.

"When do we go do this." He gave a knowing look at Wilson and Ryan. "I guess we can take this as our first practice rescue mission eh?"

Anything Marcus said was met with a MMMHMMMMMMM /he didn't tell dakota no so...../

Otto still glared at Marcus, or maybe he wasn't glaring maybe he just always narrowed his eyes at all people always (this was half true).

The blonde gave Wilson a side glance, which then trailed over to the arm slung over his shoulder, and back to Wilson. "She's fine, last I checked." He muttered with an untrusting tone. "Why're ya askin' me?" Wilson was goading him, he just knew it.

Gale was still there somewhere, but he may also have fallen asleep by that point.

Cass tiredly got up and moved over to rest her chin on Marcus' shoulder, making a noise akin to 'mrnnggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' and something like a waking dinosaur.

The door slammed open, dramatically, a waft of stale, ripe air stagnating the room as his truly (junior) appeared in the room, complete with a giant bag full of questionable objects.

"Headphones!" Mark threw the bag of questionable objects to the center of the room. "It was all I could find, and I had to strange a whole team of kill wookies for it"- it looked like he did, literally - "so I would appreciate if you treat them nicely. They're all we have that are working right now."

The headphones, possibly headsets were old, clunky, and looked like a novelty item from the 1990's. They could have easily come off a cassette player, and the foam padding on some of them was coming off.

"It's better than nothing, considering where you're going." He pulled open his laptop, placed what looked like a large Runic hula hoop on the ground and loaded a location that distinctly said SAHARA. "Well, buckle up and have fun!"

Wait, where was the-

- The hula hoop flashed brightly - and created a portal into the abyss.

OOC

THE OTHER SIDE:

The first thing you notice is that you're in the lobby of an office building. An elevator is facing you, blocked by a rather handsome looking man wearing armour in an office building. He points his sword at you. "Fair warriors, tread not into this space. If you dare interfere, you may assist, but only those under trial can free themselves."

He then pointed to the stairs. When you looked back, a second time, he was gone.

The stairs only lead to FIVE FLOORS. Your Hunter may CHOOSE ANY FLOOR. Simply use the guidelines below to post which floor you are on. After you have finished exploring that floor or want to switch floors, simply move to the other floor using the below guidelines. You can, obviously, only be on one floor at a time. Make sure to QUOTE PLAYERS you are talking to.
- exclaim In ANY of these encounters, you may see the undead. If you hit an UNDEAD ENCOUNTER, the undead have a flimsy 15 HP and attack for -2 auto damage. Simply kill as needed. Aim for the head, and well, the head. Hope you have a shotgun, as these are some classic, shambling, mostly well dressed bureaucratic undead.

gaia_crown [ FLOOR 5: POST FOR FLOOR 5 IN BOLD RED at the top of your post ]

Floor 5 is the cafeteria floor. The cafeteria itself is empty, but the tables have been upturned and there are blood stains everywhere. You can hear strange noises, shambling perhaps, and the walls are littered with bloody fingerprints.

- While exploring you may roll 1 100-sided dice and pick up clues. Random occurrences (gm occurrences) may also occur on your floor. Simply quote the gm, and interact accordingly!
1- 25: You see a flash of white - was that a unicorn stained in blood?
26 - 50: You pass by two people who are simply staring into space.... oh that's because they've been impaled. They seem to have died rather recently and are wearing Hawaiian Luau shirts. HAWAIIAN LUAU SHIRT UNDEAD ENCOUNTER.
51 - 75: You see a whole bunch of overturned tables. Some of them have strange writing on it, in blood. You can't really make out the words, but a lot say, run, or hide. There is an apple on the ground.
76 - 100: You see the ladies and mens bathrooms. The stalls seem to be empty... but covered in blood.

gaia_crown [ FLOOR 6: POST FOR FLOOR 6 IN BOLD BLUE ]

Floor 6 is the technical services floor. While searching around, you may encounter random undead from time to time wearing Hawaiian Luau shirts.

- While exploring you may roll 1 100-sided dice and pick up clues. Random occurrences (gm occurrences) may also occur on your floor. Simply quote the gm, and interact accordingly!
1- 25: You come across a bunch of computers. They all flash, blinking erratically, though one of them simply read have a nice day. As you turn slightly around, a face stares at you from all the computers, simultaneously.
26 - 50: You see a bunch of figures shambling towards you, still holding pizza boxes. "Did you try turning it on and off?" they drone, methodically.
TECHNICIAN UNDEAD ENCOUNTER.
51 - 75: You find a slice of Hawaiian pizza but it is covered in blood. And it was really good pizza too....
76 - 100: You see a yoga handbook. It has interesting suggestions such as the lotus pose but doesn't seem otherwise useful.

gaia_crown [ FLOOR 7: POST FOR FLOOR 7 IN BOLD GREEN at the top of your post ]

Floor 7 is the administrative floor. This seems to be full of offices... of dead people. And when we say dead, we mean undead, some of the undead literally locked in their little glass cage office unable to leave. They stare at you through the bloodied glass walls, thumping at their cages. There's a bunch of paper on the ground that seem to be advertising some sort of Luau day.

- While exploring you may roll 1 100-sided dice and pick up clues. Random occurrences (gm occurrences) may also occur on your floor. Simply quote the gm, and interact accordingly!
1- 25: You enter an abandoned office room. One of the windows is open - it seems the person chose to jump off the building rather than face their demise. As you turn around you hear something scuttering along the ceiling, but you don't catch it as it disappears into a vent.
26 - 50: Several undead (zombies) stare at you through the glass windows. You have the option of turning the venetian blinds down. It'll be nicer for everyone. You are about to do that when an undead suddenly appears behind you. HAT WEARING SECRETARY UNDEAD ENCOUNTER.
51 - 75: You see a piece of paper that reads "application for relocation" but it doesn't seem to apply to you.
76 - 100: You follow a trail of papers to a vent. A vent that is dripping blood, dark blood, steadily. A hand is sticking out of it. It really isn't worth investigating further as you can pretty much tell what happened here.

gaia_crown [ FLOOR 8: POST FOR FLOOR 8 IN BOLD ORANGE at the top of your post ]

Floor 8 is the customer service floor. You notice that there are a bunch of cluttered cubicle desk spaces, but all of them are empty. You pass by several sets of bloodied footprints. In the distance, you hear something thumping against an enclosure.

- While exploring you may roll 1 100-sided dice and pick up clues. Random occurrences (gm occurrences) may also occur on your floor. Simply quote the gm, and interact accordingly!
1- 25: You find at the far end, a room glowing green. It seems to be a photocopier machine but despite being unplugged, it is still going.
26 - 50: You almost trip over something, and then you realize it is a leg. Someone had wrapped telephone cord crudely over the undead until its head popped off.. with telephone cord
51 - 75: A guy ambles slowly towards you. At first you think it is a civilian, but then you take a good look at their bloodstained chest and mouth. You also notice their nametag says "JIM". JIM THE UNDEAD ENCOUNTER.
76 - 100: You find a strange cubicle that seems to have a bunch of notes written there, all in bold red. They say stuff like "HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY KNOW" and seem sort of threatening. Thankfully, the stacks are arranged in neat piles and are at least appeasing to the eye.

gaia_crown [ FLOOR 9: POST FOR FLOOR 9 IN BOLD PURPLE at the top of your post ]

Floor 9 is the security and home services floor. It seems these guys had at least put up a good struggle, but it only makes the also way more tenacious than the usual undead.

- While exploring you may roll 1 100-sided dice and pick up clues. Random occurrences (gm occurrences) may also occur on your floor. Simply quote the gm, and interact accordingly!
1- 25: You pick up a discarded shotgun, taser, and a badge that says "security". Awesome! It's only slightly bloody.
26 - 50: You encounter a guy who is staring at you slowly in shock - he is alive, but hurt badly. As you reach towards him you realize he has died a while ago but his eyes are still open.
51 - 75: A security officer slowly shambles towards you, still holding a taser. Their eyes are glassy, and their chest is literally decomposing. It sure doesn't make them seem alive. SECURITY OFFICER UNDEAD ENCOUNTER.
76 - 100: You see a phone and it is flashing one missed message.

Candace simply rolled her eyes and chuckled at the various responses she received from the guys, smirking when some of them were scolded for their anti-social behavior. She would have done the same had someone not done it for her. When Dakota moved to stand behind her she made a happy sound and reached an arm back and around to play with his hair, tilting her head to one side to rest it against his.

Something blonde caught her eye and she glanced over without moving her head to see what it was. Aw, Gale! Candace was about to go bother him until Mark made his return to which she groaned unhappily and further showed her unhappiness about his presence by forcing Dakota to support all of her weight. "They're certainly...vintage.." So vintage they could have probably been antique. Was Mark sure they worked?

Candace's eyes widened at the sight of the 'Sahara' listing. No. Nonono. No. No! "There is no--" The hoop flashed and she stiffened. Was this safe? Ugh. Uuuuugh.

Fine.

Sighing, Candace untangled herself from Dakota to just hold his hand, warily stepping into the portal. She was ready to summon Atropos as soon as she was on the other side, just as soon as she felt her feet sink into sand.

Except they didn't...

She blinked. "Whaaaat.." Candace frowned. "Unless the Sahara went through a sudden change in the last few months...somehow I think Mark ******** up.." she said to anyone who came in behind her. She stopped when she heard 'fair warriors' and looked to the armored man with a sword.

"Excalibur?!" What the hell! Why was he here? He should be home. What trial? Candace was still just shocked to see him here. What the hell was he going on about now?

Jordan grimaced a little and sat up straight again as Mark returned. They were all in need of a shower, but it might be worth considering dunking Mark in the ocean. Then again, he'd probably struggle, and that might attract titans. Jordan shelved the idea for refinement later and took one of the archaic headsets as they were tossed onto the table.

He froze up for a few seconds as he saw the readout of their destination. No. No ... But he couldn't back out, and he wasn't alone. He could handle this. He swallowed hard and got up, casting a glance at Rep and Jerry. "Stay close," he said. "Getting separated could be bad."

Rep felt his own heart sink at the mention of the sahara, he'd been doing some training there, but in comparison to his work in the Arctic, it was minimal. It was for a reason, the shifting sands were about as treacherous as they came and everything to date in the Sahara had been absolutely and unequivocally awful.

"Don't intend to get separated" he said grimly. "Last ******** place in the world I'd want to end up alone."

He picked up the thrown headset, aiming for one of the ones with the foam still attached and shoving it around his neck for the time being. He strode into the portal and waited on the other side, hearing the man in armour out, wondering if they were looking at some relation of excalibur or simply a guardian. You didn't often see armour and lifts together though.

"What floor are we starting on?"
