Lucky watched the proceedings, picked up the nearest bottle of vodka, and took a swig directly from it.
"Oh no," Lucky observed in a complete deadpan.

"The next minute he was kidnapped by a tentacle?" Ripley finished in disbelief, moving after Ian easily enough. The closer they got to the water line though, the weaker his grip became until eventually he had let him go. Wait, someone was trying to go after the kidnapped Hunter?! He simply couldn't find any logic in it, and all it really did was leave him frazzled with his glasses skewed. Not exactly the picture of composure today.
"Not to mention how hard it is to fight under water!" Not that he had ever done it, but you know, it was a guess. "Come on, there's got to be a better way than go swimming." His gaze shifted when he heard Abbi's voice, instantly standing a little straighter and making an effort to fix his glasses...at least, that was his intention. Instead he just looked surprised, and let a hand rest between her orange pigtails.
"Wait...that was Finn?" Suddenly the idea of a swim didn't seem so far-fetched.

There was a tug on his arm as Ian tried to pull him back. Shiloh attempted to shake his arm free, pulling towards the ocean. “Someone’s got to do something, and it probably should be someone who can at least swim. We can’t just let that thing take him.” But Ian had made him pause just long enough to consider his position. It was dark past the bonfire, only the eerie light of the blue stars illuminated in the distance. Then even they disappeared, and there was no sign of Finn anywhere, and no answer to his calling. However, the thought of the hunter dying out there wasn’t a possibility he wanted to consider. “Glowsticks,” he said suddenly, turning back to Ian and the other hunters that had arrived. He didn’t know either of them, but as it was, they didn’t exactly have time for introductions. “What if we use glowsticks? LUCKY!” The idea sounded asinine even to him, but now that the lights were gone, maybe whatever it was had dropped Finn in the water. If they could just see, maybe he’d be okay… He had to be okay. Shiloh was determined to make sure of it. Shiloh had his back turned to the water, and had neglected to notice that the lights were, in fact, no longer gone.

Straight up guy you are Shiloh, better thinking too. Telling others to go get additional help and use their phones, sensible really besides ready to go dive into the problem himself. Which, Milo was ready to do especially seeing someone else ready and willing. (Not like he had numbers to contact.) Was a few of the better plans he was hearing, besides something about littler boxes.
Milo pushed himself forward, ready to help when things got suddenly dark again save for the bonfire on the beach. Until a collection of stars decided to appear in an interesting pattern, leaving him enthralled like the rest of them. His eyes widened when the lights expanded and rearranged, seeming to appear as a smile. The brunette blinked and stared for a moment, "Is that normal...?"

"It was Finn," said Ian grimly. He let go of Shiloh's write a little reluctantly, but he still stood somewhat close to him, eyeing him warily as though he expected the other to suddenly run off. He glanced back at Ripley, and then at the new girl beside him. "I'm not sure what or how or even why, but it looks like..."
He broke off suddenly, staring out at the water.
"Is it just me, or does that seem closer than it was before?"

Leon didn't like the sound in the air. It was time for preventative measures. "I'm in the mood for a shot of tequila with extra salt, how about you guys?" the boxers asked loudly, pulling out the large container of sea salt and pushing it towards Lucky. Tentacles and salt, he was sure it was going to work, even if he had to coat his entire chainsaw in the ionic compound.

...Clicking?
Ripley looked up to see these so-called blue stars. He wasn't a big fan of star-ology or astrology or whatever it was that had to do with the night sky and constellations, but he was pretty sure that wasn't normal. If the clicking hadn't been an indication.
"...I think we should get off the beach." He whispered low to those around him, already starting to back up. He did pause enough to grab Abbi's hand, pulling her away with him, and then behind him to at least keep her out of the way.

There was no warning, or at least, none that Finn had been able to see. Maybe if he'd been more focused on his own surroundings, to the others who had noticed the strange, glowing stars, he might not have come to such a grim fate. But no. He had been too busy carefully keeping his eyes directed at Nevada, in one last petty attempt to bring her down while he bided his time and waited for just the opportune moment to bring his knowledge to light, so that Jack could know the truth that he had, until now, kept hidden from him. Some might have called him a drama mongerer for what he had planned, but he actually preferred the term, "s**t disturber". But it just wasn't to be. Instead, as he felt something wrap around his ankle and pull taught, and the last thing he would see before being swallowed up by the inky black ocean, was her look of surprise, and then smug glee, like she had planned this, like somehow this had all been just a set up, pay back for their little confrontation in the hallway that had ended on such terrible terms. If he could have spat at her again, in that moment, as just one final ******** you, he would have. There hadn't been time for much more then a harsh cry of surprise before the wind was knocked out of him, before he was engulfed in water and holding his breath, and for some reason he didn't even think as much for his own safety as he did about how his most expensive set of clothing was now ruined. And his watch, the one that had once been his dads before he had died, that one last thing that had connected him to a world before this one, was now likely destroyed as well. And finally, a sense of disbelief, and rising panic, as it hit him that this was the end. The tentacle watch had failed. He had failed. Two months as a trainee, of not even getting to be in the line of duty yet, and now this. Swallowed up by the darkness. And despite the fact that he could hear the ones that cared calling his name, shouting, perhaps even attempting to come to his rescue, he knew what she said had been true. He was nothing but replaceable. Zoobey just 4 u I do this death solo

Glowsticks were a really, really good idea Mr. Great Idea Dude but the clicking noise was a really, really bad thing. Since names seemed an irrelevant issue at the moment, Abbi was left to just stare up at the boys discussing plans and try to look helpful. And by helpful she meant really, super duper worried because Fiinnnnnn you got eated oh nooooo. Momentarily distracted by head pats from Ripley, the teen paused to consider this, totally unaware of the lights moving closer toward the shore. That is, until they were much too bright to ignore. "Not stars." She offered up helpfully before it seemed being drug up the beach was the plan of action. Never one to dwaddle when it was at all possible to actually run, Abbi made sure to keep her hand in Ripley's but still move as fast as she could until she was almost trying to drag him. "Sooooo is this like a common occurrence around here?" She asked over her shoulder to Mr. Awesome Plans Dude and Mr. Tall, Dark And Grumpface. "Because I was really starting to wonder why we weren't having a 50's themed beach party everyday and now I can kind of see why."

Everything was blinding blue for just a second, a strange, surreal shade of blue-
- As Lucky and Milo disappeared, along with the glow in a single snap.
However, the water itself began to slowly bleed the same florescent blue, washing up on shore and tainting the sand with colour. It hissed and corroded everything it touched. OOC Don't get too close to the water! Your skin will begin to blister and burn!

Shiloh turned around to look, and the stars were definitely closer. And from their formation, he was starting to think that these were definitely not stars at all. And that Ripley’s idea of getting off the beach made an awful lot of sense. But Finn was still out their somewhere, and Shiloh bristled suddenly. He didn’t want to think about anyone dying, there had to be something they could do. He eyed Ian carefully, wondering if he could outrun him. If only he could see anything… He looked around for Lucky, but it seemed the hunter hadn’t heard him. A loud snap had him reeling around, and he found Lucky, and with him another hunter, and he yelled after them, running towards the water. But the glowing liquid that seeped into the sand hissed at his boots and as the rubber soles bubbled, he recoiled in pain, kicking the boots off and scrambling back to what was left of their group. “You’re right,” he nodded at Ripley gravely, and ushered everyone towards the bonfire. “We should definitely get off of the beach."

Just like that, another one was gone to the water and it had Leon backpedaling away from the shore, salt in hand and throwing handfuls of it out to sea. "Okay, time to regroup and come up with a proper plan guys." he shouted, hoping to flail and arm and wave them back.
"Lets take this party a little closer to the mainland and make a plan to save our wayward party animals." He helped Shiloh, corralling everyone away from the water. It was not looking too good, not with the thing that decided to crash and burn, almost literally by the way the corrosive material was eating up the ground. "Does anyone have a light or some sort of way of seeing exactly what we are up against?" It was already an uphill battle, fighting in the dark and no clue about the true measure of the enemy's strength.

"From what I hear, yes." Ripley replied to Abbi, from the little tidbits he had picked up from the other hunters in conversation and eavesdropping. "Don't take this the wrong way, but Abbi? If you ever think to have a beach party...don't. Just. Don't." No longer looking at the girl, Ripley's gaze moved from the space where Finn was taken to the stars that seemed to smile down on them as he moved backwards.
"What if that just gives it a target?" He replied to Shiloh. "What if...What is that." Ripley's gloved hand shot out, pointing at the tainted water and sand. It really only made him scramble back further with Abbi, not needing the hiss of corrosion as further proof to get the hell out.
"Err, he mentioned Glowsticks. I'm guessing 'Lucky' is a nickname for the person who has them?" Ripley replied to Leon, and had nodded to Shiloh at the mention of he before he gave a concerned look over the crowd. He had no idea who Lucky was.
