As she stared to her feet, she brought up joining a guild. At first he was surprised, she was certainly brave, and was impressed by her interest. "Well" he began, looking up in thought. "Some people join a guild as a way of life, other's do it to get special access to what other's cannot. Some simply want a simple life with no weight on their shoulders and stay neutral. If you would like to join a guild, choose the one that suits you the most is all i can say." he spoke with a soft smile att he end. "Take me for example, i've always been interested in law, peace and order. I want to be able to protect people and make sure that justice is served. So, i joined the Injustira Syndicate, as that is exactly what they provide. But if you prefer research, advancements, science and magic the Arcaz Sovereignty would be for you. The same with Castayu Del'yir, they believe in growth, preservation and life, druids and similar people joining them, many becoming Weathermancers or great hunters or healers. And the Asmodius Corps, which is mainly an army with special forces, basically for large numbers to provide control and brute force in times of need. Though, it does also specialise in the best arts of craft and engineering. And though i do say these things, not eveyone who has achieved these feats are even a part of a guild, its just like bonuses really."

Cora LaineyAs Lucas expressed the different interests of the guilds, a certain spark lit in Cora. She looked up at Lucas and waited patiently until he finished explaining. "You said healers? There are people who can heal others?" Cora hadn't even considered it. Of course it made sense, magic always had its ways of doing the seemingly impossible. Cora considered all of the different afflictions people have succumbed to. Cora smiled quietly as she told herself a joke in her head: 'What if some of the doctors on Earth who make those great medical feats are really just using magic?' It was not intended as a serious thought, but she did have to admit it would make some sense.

Cora suddenly showed a rush of interest, adrenalin almost as she conjured up a bright thought. When she told him, Lucas did have a small smirk across his lips "Sometimes magic does slip it's way through, the Occult sometimes finds out though." he paused for a second and then realised what he had said, something so mundane here was utmost interesting for Cora, of real unknown information, new information. "Forgive me" he said. "The Occult, is like a government that resides in your Earth, in a city called Absóluté. It's hidden behind magical barriers that no Non-magic folk can find or cross. More to the point, the Occult aims to keep the two of our worlds hidden from each other, more so our world from your world... Shortly before the years moved into Anno Domini - A.D. - we all lived together, but as always the feud between magic and mundane showed distrust, so the current king that ruled magic folk, before we had the High Guild that replaced the royal family, ordered for all magic folk to either migrate to Magic Earth, or live a life of secrecy within your world. That was when the Occult was created,to make sure that the king's word would never be broken"

Cora LaineyCora had wondered what forces kept the magical from the average, but as Lucas explained the Occult, it all became a little clearer. Cora contemplated the implications of needing to live separately. It made sense how there may be a clash of power and trust, but something wasn't settling inside her. "What if magic could save someone?" She had considered how she had accidentally ended up in this world. Cora knew she was normal, and she liked to believe that she was adapting to magic just fine. She wondered if the Occult would take her away if they found out about her. Unless they already had and Lucas was right. Maybe she was more than a normal human being.

As Lucas continued to explain the Occult, Cora seemed to conjure up a very good question. But the question made him pause and stop to think, it was a question that would often bring disputes among different groups of people. In his life he remembers a few arguments between powers such as Castayu Del'yir and his own guild the Syndicate.
"... Sometimes it happens... sometimes it does not. 'Miracles' " he said, his eyes seem to dart about the floor for a few seconds before looking back up to her. "The Occult doesn't like us to interact much with the Non-Magic folk, they say they're so sceptical and so on that all it would do is cause collateral damage. There has been an instance in fact when a Non-Magic Human found it's way into, several times. But each time they were sent back with a wiped mind. At least you don't have to worry about that" Lucas said, leaning back into his chair again.

Cora LaineyCora furrowed her brow, not exactly getting the answer she expected. 'Miracles' happened so rarely; the world would be so much kinder with more of them circulating around. Cora gently bit her lip at hearing that people were sent back with wiped memories. She rest her hands in her lap, her fingers twiddling each other. "How are you so certain I don't have to worry about that? I don't even know who my parents are. How do you know so confidently?" She was looking for a reason now, an answer she could cling to. She didn't want to go back to Florida with no memories of this place. She knew she had been so stubborn about the topic, but now her happiness depended on her being wrong. "I know I'm not the easiest to teach, but... Please help me understand this above all else, Lucas." Cora fought to hide the worry from her features.

Lucas coudln't help but raise a brow at what she had asked, she wanted to know why he was so sure, why he was confident she wouldn't face the same fate. But he knew something that she probably hadn't ever realised. Her lineage was far more interesting then she had ever realised. He udnerstood how her being an orphan gave her little information either.
Instead of teling her out right, he told her a short little story. "A long time ago, Cora, i told you that the eternal branched off into the races we know today in Magic Earth. One in particular was the Fae, they sought the ethereal, the cosmos, they wanted to understand. In exchange, they became the Fae, and their one tell tale sign was their eyes." he paused for a moment and indefinitely looked at her eyes. "They're eyes look like none other, their eyes look like the cosmos on a dark night in the mountains... their eyes, Cora, look just like your's."

Cora LaineyCora listened closely to Lucas's tale. This time there was no need for any visuals with the light, so she assumed the story would be fairly straightforward. As she was reminded that the eternal spread to different races, she nodded her head ever so slightly. She was proud of her ability to learn quickly and retain the knowledge. His descriptions of the Fae were new to her, though. She was caught off-guard when Lucas looked into her eyes and saw something she hadn't been able to see. She practically got the chills when he said she had the eyes of a Fae. "Can it be so simple?" Cora immediately rebuked herself in her head. If there was anything she needed to accept, it would be this. This would save her from being sent back. Cora dismissed her questions and smiled softly. "I don't doubt you, Lucas. You seem to be far more knowledgeable on both of our worlds than I could ever dream to be. If you're certain of this, and it truly seems like you are, then I trust your judgement."

She seemed to take it well, at first Lucas could have sworn she seemed shock, an expression of rebuke almost taking over ebfore she smiled gently and accepted it. He thought maybe she would be happy now, knowing she deffinitely doesn't have to go home. And at elast now he ahd learned she didn't know about this.
He nodded gently with a sincere smile as he said "You'll notice it more now, in Magic Earth, racial traits are more expressive - since you're closer to the origins." This was a nice conversation they had been having, out int he sun, but in the last few seconds Lucas could feel a slight chill brush past him, looking out towards where they were heading, there seemed to be rain clouds coming up covering much of the Maelstrom Sea. "Looks like we had better go below deck, doubt the rain will be warm" he said, getting up from his seat and folding it up. "We're heading over the Maelstrom Sea, and its named that for a reason, but we'll be okay indoors" he reassured her, gesturing towards the elegantly carved doorway leading below deck.
((Shall i do a time skip after this? smile ))

Cora LaineyLucas promised that her heritage would be more apparent here in Magic Earth. Cora contemplated to herself what kinds of traits those would be exactly. She knew near nothing of the Fae, other than what Lucas had taught her. She had imagined the traits must be magical properties. It seemed unlikely to her that she would go under a physical change. Or, at least, it didn't seem possible for her physical features to change, her body is as it is. Before she could dwell much longer, a soft chill had touched her. Lucas advised they continue their conversation in the shelter below deck, to which Cora nodded in agreement, "Of course. Wouldn't want to challenge a well-deserved name like Maelstrom Sea." Cora smiled as she rose from her seat and collapsed it in her hands.
[[By all means. ^^ Go ahead.]]

The first night sleeping aboard the Lightcleaver was something akin to a childs roller-coaster ride at certain points of the dark night. Lucas did his best to make sure Cora was at home in her own luxury room, all of the rooms were luxury, but he made sure she had everything she needed. After leaving her to do as she pleases for the night, the injustira disciple had done his best to keep the enchantments on the Zeppelin fresh for the night i order to smooth it out as much as possible, and to keep out the sound of the rain.

The next morning, the rain had cleared and through the portholes of the cabins were golden rays of sunlight. Lucas had got up early, like always, he was already fully clothed and taking in the fresh air on the main deck, staring off into the distant sky seeing the horizon of the middle of Occulas nearby to the west. And just north, soon they would be seeing Skyfall, a grand white metropolis floating in the sky. Thinking to himself, he remembered what he had gone through in the book of the Heavens last night. He searched every single page, every chapter, even articles written by Horad Caiin yet nothing had pointed to why the High Angel of Justice has vanished. The last bit of information he could find was saying something about how Injustira had taken a nasty bite from a Demon in the Burning Invasion all those years ago. Sighing, he placed his hands on the railings of the flying ship.

Cora LaineyCora was genuinely surprised by the amenities of the room Lucas had put her in. Everything about the room exuded a warm comfort that was unfamiliar to her. Of course, she had never exactly been able to afford a stunning apartment or luxurious furnitures. The kindness that Lucas treated her with was almost overwhelming. It seemed so bizarre that after looking for a place that she could comfortably call home for all of those years, this entire world of wonder was just at the edge of her reach. As Lucas left her for the night, she had finally crawled into the great bed that was prepared for her. The warm weight of the comforter allowed her to sleep relatively quickly. She buried her face into the soft pillow and welcomed a long-needed rest after quite the adventurous trek. Cora was so spent from her journey that she had barely even been roused from her rest as the storm pushed them along.
Come morning, Cora woke feeling better than she possibly ever had. The comforts of her cabin had left her feeling especially pampered, particularly in comparison with the rooms she's resorted to sleeping in from her past. She did not feel an ounce of lethargy as she found her way out of her room and onto the main deck. Seeing Lucas by the railing, Cora cheerfully strolled over beside him. "Good morning!" she chimed with a smile. Her smile faded slightly as he seemed to be lost in thought. "Is everything okay?"
[[Sorry it took so long. TT^TT We went straight from school to D&D night and didn't come home until very late. On another note, I just realized why I'm not getting notices! You haven't been quoting my full username. Oops!]]

((oh goodness! Thank you for telling me or i probs wouldn't have noticed haha!!! Sorry! razz )) ((P.S. if you don't mind me saying... you're writing skills. What has happened? You've blossomed! xD))
Taken from his own thoughts, he never realised that Cora had woken and met by his side, she had a particularly chiming smile as she leaned over beside him. It was nice, knowing that he had kept someone happy was always a comfort for him, just like when he got Team Elixer together. "Good morning" his softly replied, his tone as if her were some wise vicar. Smiling back to her, she wondered if he was okay, she probably noticed his deep-thought expression just a moment ago. With his elbows still on the rail he turned his head to stare over into the horizon and said "Things are just a little confusing right now, but it's no struggle for me" he reassured her with another smile. "How was your sleep?" he asked, letting the morning sun's rays warm his cheeks and make his crystal-like grey eyes glisten.

Laxion Greenleath Asmodius Corps Maybe nightfall darkens skies And maybe teardrops stain our eyes But may the slightest light start a fire
Clenching his fingers around the rough edges of the crystal, he held it tight closing his eyes as he imagined what life would be like by the end of this. This was yet another simple obstacle in his path. Yes, they had problems, they all had problems. But sure as the air caressing his cheeks, he knew that somewhere, sometime, things will work out. Lilly and Scarlot will be reunited, Kyne will overcome the man they met earlier... and maybe when the night falls - they won't have to imagine that Alexis is there with them. When he opened his eyes he took in a deep breath, it was time to go and finish this. Team Elixer, the new Team Elixer will finish this, and the Guildeam will learn that no one should be objectified, no matter what power they have. Whilst Laxion chose to become great, others have it thrust upon them, they deserve a little respect. That's what he thought whenever he looked at Ruby. They'll get through it, and when he looked at Kyne, Laxion knew that they had someone else to trust now.
The crystal fit firmly into the pedastal before him, and a light glistened out, twinkled almost in his eye as it dulled down. At first Laxion began to think it hadn't worked, yet the quiet hum resonated through the very hull of the ship as he heard it being pulled slowly from its anchored rest at the port. And as they began to pull away, and the city's edge become a step away, a stride away, something now that looked more like a picture within a frame, Laxion watched the others head inside.
The Lightcleaver was like none other, wind was nothing but easily avoided for the great zeppelin. Enchantments stopped gales from sweeping through and onto the deck, rainwater never gathered on the magical balloon and dripped down to touch their heads. And at night, it was always aglow by the slightest light. When he found himself inside, he remembered the familiar smell of the zeppelin's rooms. They each had a room to themselves, even Kyne. Laxion looked through the crack of each door as he passed and first saw Ruby, she was adorning her armour once more, Lucas always had a spare set for them. It made him feel welcomed back, even though he wasn't here, and then passing Kyne's he felt rude looking, but even Kyne had new armour, he noticed the familiar leathery cape. Familiar, why, it took him some moments to remember Kole's wings. And then he looked and found himself in his own room, where he saw before him on a mannequin his very own armour. It stood exactly the same height as him, the porthole in the wall let through a golden glow from the soon descending sun. The elather jacket and denim jeans would no longer be of any use.
Laxion was the last of them to emerge from the inner sanctum that was the Lightcleaver's private rooms. As the golden light shun across the white-stained wood and silver metal of the deck he walked through and took in the fresh air. They were surely moving through the sky now, Skyfall was quite the distance away but still visible, and the Iringod Spire's were going to be their next stop in the morning. Til' then, all they could do was relax and reflect one the last few days, more specifically today. Standing in the middle of the deck, Laxion looked over to Kyne and say "Hey, Kyne". He gave the man a few moments to notice him before he replied with "Welcome to the team" he was taking note of the new armour. "It suits you" he then added, with a respectful smile.
There was nothing like the cool breeze on the Lightcleaver, with the warmth of the falling sun's golden rays.
((This song - listening to this whilst reading this, i think it's rather atmospheric!))
A soldier in the hands of a forgotten mess Digging out the burning bullets in his chest So eager, bold and noble – printing footsteps on this earth
But no one cares for dreams that don’t fit into our world
But may the slightest light start a fire

Ruby
Ruby pushed herself up and watched as Laxion inserted the guidance crystal he was given into a pedestal connected to the control panel. With a short lived glow, the ship jerked forward pulling away from the unattended docks. She could only imagine the peacekeepers trying to stop the massive mechanical beast from departing and two of their jewel riding off into the sunset. The albino was pleased with this random train of thought and hadn't expected anything less from the substantial future general of the Asmodius Corps. He was born to be a leader and deserved more than authorizing this trio of nonprofessionals. However, he never complained about his position with them so she assumed he is happy where he is now. Disappearing to the back to change his clothes and applaud Kyne for amalgamating with the team, she was left alone with Scarlot. The brunette must be exhausted so Ruby thought it would be best to offer her her quarters.
"You should rest. There's a bed in my room, but I'm never going to use it so you can sleep in there." She pointed to the door of the room knowing that she didn't need an escort. She searched her back muscles by bending back and then extended her arms back as far as she could. "I'm going to head to the topper deck." The girl began walking in the direction of the ladder when she stopped at the foot of the steps and said, "We'll find your sister before they do, promise." She really shouldn't make promise that could backfire at any give moment. Climbing the steel pegs, she heaved herself up onto the white flexible deck peddling against her limits. The small soldier's energy sustained her enough to keep herself conscious for the ride if she continues to move around. Enemies could be obscured in the cloud coverage like the last trips past raising vendetta.
The gust of wind bounded of her armored dress, but with all the resistance she still only managed to make it to the nearest railing holding on for dear life. Her body ached as she lifted herself with the bars help and looked down at the fluffy sea caress the zeppelin's belly. No extreme turbulence yet so the venture seemed like it was going to be a normal one. She figured that she would head back inside after a quick examination to view her in companion's attire. Ruby's thin white locks drifted in and out of her vision as she inched along the golden railing. Although, this inspection would go a lot fast if she was at her normal strength. At this rate either Laxion or Kyne were going to come up there and pull her down to the lower level out of concern.
