Eirwyn Sepik Can I have a link to your comics? I'd like to read them. ^^ Sorry--I used to have Whatsit's Origin Story on the Fun Page, but nobody ever came to read it so I took it down & just left a text summary. You can read sample pages of my parody of The Two Doctors in my Journal, though!Read them, they're good! Ok so I never manage to think up any decent nicknames for this thread so I decided to make it easier I am going to name all the Doctors after certain types of food. For my first one I shall choose sweets: 1. Sour plum 2. Liquorice Allsort 3. Fruit Pastille 4. Jelly ba... ha! Tricked you! He's actually called Fizzy Cola Bottle 5. Marshmallow (cos I thought of Ghost Busters - what's the most harmless thing you can think of? And then the huge marshmallow man appears so ppl should be careful of the 5th Doctor, he might turns nasty like marshmallow man) 6. Fruit Salad (the weird tasting really tough sweets that are all funny colours) 7. Sherbet Lemon 8. Turkish Delight heart 9. Blackjack 10. Well he looks like one of those liquorice allsorts with the brown sugary stuff and liquorice sort of sandwiched together but since I don't have a proper name for them I'll go for Strawberry Laces since they're so well loved but make me feel a bit sick...

Timelady42 Crumpet Lord And it's not fair to call McGann sissy or girly or nancy boy, so he's a bit less... action-esque, you see more of then doctors other side. don't be an a**, McGann was a Nancy-boy, and I hated him. especially since my second-favourite doctor died and turned into him. oh, and don't be offended by that first sentence. i heard that phrase and i've been dying to use it on someone today. you're not an a**, really. but i wanted to say it. ... ... In England, we say arse.

Well, honestly, we never got to see enough of him to make any kind of a proper judgement. I personally liked him, but we knew about as much about him as we did when Tom Baker crawled in and out of the costume closet wearing stupider and stupider costumes, or when Peter Davison was falling all over himself and unravelling his red scarf obcessively, or when Colin Baker tried to strangle Peri (annoying though she may have been). It is impossible to make adequate judgements on a Doctor after one initial appearance. Yes, it is easy to make snap accessments, and something of the "real" Doctors does show through in these initial episodes, but they still do not give us enough. I think Paul McGann would have proven a wonderful Doctor if he'd had a chance to show "his stuff" like all the others. Everyone tends to get down on the Doctor who replaced "thier" Doctor. I can still remember the storms of fury from countless fans when Peter Davison replaced Tom Baker, and to this day I have never entirely warmed up to him - but I didn't hate him or especially dislike him. It wasn't until his last season that he finally began to "blossom" into the Doctor he should have been all along. McGann wasn't a sissy-boy or any of that other stuff. The writers were trying to depict him as some kind of romantic poet, I think - someone with an artistic nature. they set the stage for that by giving him a companion who was an opera fan, and a costume like that of a 19th century Romantic. Always keep in mind that the Doctor, like everyone else, has a multi-face4ted personality and with each incarnation, certain aspects of that personality come into sharp relief while others fall into the background. But for all these idyosyncracies, his basic nature and character remain the same. And that brings me to the one thing I really dislike about the new Doctor #10, even though I only saw him for a few minutes after Doctor #9's regeneration. He has broken a very long tradition that has always been outstanding to me: he has brown eyes! All of the nine previous Doctors have piercing blue eyes, like a consistant signature or even a thumbprint. You could always look into his eyes and see the Doctor, whatever the rest of him looked like. But not #10! They could have corrected that with makeup. I don't like it.

I have brown eyes and am getting quite sick of 90% of people on TV having blue eyes (it's starting to change over here as we get more and more Scottish/Welsh actors) but yes, the Doctor has always had blue eyes and I think perhaps they should have kept that. On the other hand you can look at it as a sign of changing times and go with it. By the way, I wouldn't take Timelady's cursing of McGann too seriously. She insults her own fav Doctor too. But everyone's allowed a least fav. Mine used to be Jon Pertwee but I'm finally starting to warm to him... a bit. Now Tennant annoys me a lot more....

Roobarb She could mean donkey anyway. With Timelady, always take it to mean the worst possible. But it really depends on her mood.. Yes..she does insult her favourite doctor. That's jus the sort of man person she is. Take for example, her beloved banjo, Billy. Accidentally left at school for a week.. Same with her violin, only just over the weekend for that. But then, she doesn't like her violin that much..I've forgotten what she named it.. About the blue eyes..maybe they never noticed? Maybe..something happened with his last regeneration..to...change the colour of his eyes?? I dont' know..

Freaj I dunno, do you think blue eyes would really suit Tennant?? I'm getting casanova for Christmas, i guess i'll answer after i watch that, but from the preview I'd say yes. The eye colour changekind of ticks me off too, even though I didn't notice it until I started watching the old series about thee monthes ago

Ooh, he's in Casanova you say?!? I'm watching that. I didn't even pick up on the whole eye colour thing until you guys mentioned it! It's kind of a minor detail, but one which I don't think they should have overlooked. Blue eyes is just... a Doctor thing.
