Marcus wished there was a way to go into his house, and get natural gas set up- or some kind of backup personal generator. But alas, he was not that skilled nor did he have that much time to invest in yet another remodel. His house was standing, it functioned, and hopefully would get the chance to seek.. elsewhere. Even if elsewhere was a close option. While Cass had gone ahead, Marcus had taken time to set up a few emergency lights in the house, as well as set up the small camping cooking set which he guessed would last them two days at best. At best. He did manage to get it set up and tested it with something simple- Heating chicken noodle soup. Which is just what he brought to the gathering of hunters, along with two pillows and one large blanket. "So are we camping?" It was an honest question, because if so they would need a few runic daggers...

Bix almost laughed, but he did snort, as she spoke of the 'guy rulebook'. "I'm preeeetty sure that 'sneak looks at girls in bathing suits' is like rule 3." He rubbed his arm as if she'd hit it with a bat.

"Theres a subnote if you look under it that says no peeking when it's girls day out." She retorted almost immediately. "Though i think i also innocently scratched out the second note that said 'or at least don't get caught.' " She was amused he was playing along.

Cass looked over her shoulder, smiling brightly as her husband made the approach with his little plethora of goodies. "Nah, if we set up a tent we can make it with blankets in the house." she replied as she took the pillows from him, cradling them in one arm to free up his.
"But we can enjoy the stars with everybody else, maybe offer to share a little bit of blanket space with those who don't mind us being lovebirds." it was the only thing that really made her feel better about the recent events, anyways. Having him in one piece.
"Saw your cousin floating around, though."

She had a plan. He liked her plan. Even if that would mean that some of the candles he might have placed for romance would become a fire hazard. Safety first."I don't mind sharing blanket space. Mostly brought it to keep grass stains off and maybe dirt or moistu- Oh." looking around, the moon hunter spotted his relative quickly enough. He was with company, so Marcus would take the opportunity to settle in before harassing his cousin. Should go over and give him a kiss- Dis no. Why not? It's not like I'm suggesting- Dis. ............ No. I am not Dakota, no doesn't work on me.Marcus wished it did.

When Shiloh called to Quinn, Mimsy realized that she hadn't even noticed that he was here with them. Why hadn't he come to say hello? Humans were still much more baffling than the universe would ever be.
"It is always nice to speak with someone who is both interested in what I have to say, and capable of understanding it." She turned to smile at Ian, taking in his response to the constellation question.
"The classics." A little laugh, but a pleasant one. "A night like this one serves well to remind me of the wonder that I felt towards the stars when I was younger, too. They grew increasingly more incredible as I learned more about them, but it is a very different sort of feeling."
She folded her hands over her stomach and watched as they tried to encourage Quinn to join them, nodding towards Shiloh when he asked for confirmation.
"You were correct - it was Lepus. And Quinn and I are acquainted, yes." Her head tilted to the side as Quinn admitted that he could only point out two constellations. "I could locate the visible constellations for you, if you'd like."

His nights hadn't been sleepless, but he sort of wish they had been. When Robert trudged his body outside, after hearing the sound of so many others on the beach, he looked tired. Black circles surrounded his eyes, and there was nothing of the lively bulk of man that he usually was. In fact, he dragged his feet as he walked over, and when he finally got there, he crumpled down onto the sand and laid like a dead fish on the ground. What a wonderful addition to the party.

Someone plopped down beside Mimsy, tugging her coat in their direction when they landed on it. She shifted with the movement of the coat, and shifted her attention along with it, glancing at the body next to her.
Oh.
"Robert," she whispered, patting him on the head. "You have to turn over to watch the 'shooting stars'. I am afraid they are not subterranean."

He wasn't here to watch the stars, he was here to not be alone - but if Mimsy wanted him to look up at the stars, he had no reason to fight it. So without a word, Robert shifted, rolling until his back fell on the sand, and looked up at the stars.
It was then, and only then, that he realized the fog was gone, and there were stars.
"s**t." He whispered. Did he realize the doom this spelled? Did he have some inkling about what this could mean?
"It's so goddamn pretty."
No, he did not.
"Looks just like it did back home." His lower lip jutted out in a pout. "I haven't seen stars in forever."

Heidi's smile faltered slightly at the reminder of Nevada's eyepatch. So..she lost her eye? That..wow. Well then. That...wow. Okay. Heidi giggled. "Totally the eyepatch. It makes you look like a pirate princess're somethin'." Yes. A pirate princess. She just needed a tiara. "I meant more your harem~. I think a harem is supposed to be dressed skimpier, though. Are they in trial phase?" This wasn't so bad. Nevada wasn't making eyes..er..eye..? at Tuck or anything, so it wasn't like she needed to be possessive or competitive. It was nice. She looked to Mimsy when the girl spoke, looking pleasant surprised. Usually when she saw Mimsy she was so.. robotic. This Mimsy was more human! She was smiling, pleasant, friendly! It was awesome! And chatty oh man this was great! Whatever she had gotten rid of really did help brighten her up! Whoa. Astrophysics? Holy cow. "A favorite constellation? Uh..I don't really know much about them. I love the moon though, especially when it's full. My favorites are the nights where it looks even bigger than usual. Did you know if you tilt your head just right the craters look like a rabbit? It's cute!" Though Mimsy most likely did know that. Because she was a scientist. Heidi didn't know much science stuff okay. One of the boys called out to Quinn and Heidi looked up. Yes! More people she knew! And a Bix too! This was nice, relaxing with everyone. Tuck spoke up and Heidi giggled, reaching back to find his other hand and drape both of his arms over her shoulders from behind, leaning back against him with a happy little sound. "Have you ever watched a shower before? Wickford was a super small town so it was easy to see the stars there. It feels like it's been forever since I could see them." The island always had fog and Valencia had been too bright for her to see the stars as well as she could now. This was perfect. See? Someone else felt the same way. Someone.. ... Someone kind of familiar. Heidi's eyes widened. Thank god he's wearing clothes this time. "Yeah, same here. I wonder why the fog is gone.." Maybe the tear had something to do with it. Or the missing weapons. Huh. "If only we had like tents and stuff we could just stay here and camp all night."

Shiloh had turned from bothering Quinn just long enough to notice the sudden appearance of- "Hey ********! Glad to see you made it!"
He grinned broadly at him, remembering him only really from the time during the tear. Oh! He had been in the pool too! But he seemed different now, and Shiloh couldn't quite put his finger on what had changed. But he flashed Mimsy a knowing little smile, anyone could return the tall man to his former high spirits, he was sure she could.

"Yes," Mimsy quietly agreed, smiling down at Robert. "We will just have to savor the moment and enjoy it, now that we can see it so clearly."
When she heard Heidi answering her question about constellations, she turned towards her, smile changing to something more toothy.
"I would be happy to point out the visible constellations to you too, if you'd like. And the moon is lovely. Did you know, if you tilt your head just right, the craters look like a series of craters?"
She really should not have said that, especially considering the fact that constellations were even more vague in their resemblance of the animals or heroes or objects that they were said to be, but the sarcasm was out of her mouth before she could stop herself. s**t.
"I'm teasing! It is very cute." She smiled a very wide smile and made a dismissive short of motion. "I'm glad that you decided to join us! Tonight is the best possible night to see this."
Still maintaining her smile, she pointed upwards.
"And, anyway, I'm really enjoying the company. I like being able to share something that I was so passionate about with everyone here. I never had the opportunity to do this before I arrived here. I suppose that this is the first large-scale opportunity that I've had since I arrived here too, but I am thankful for it nonetheless. Did you stargaze much before you arrived?"
Though the question was technically meant for Heidi, she tried her best to project it towards everyone, still hoping to hear as much as possible about each person's previous interest in the stars.
Instead, she heard Shiloh call Robert '********', and it was suddenly very hard not to laugh.

Cass laughed. "Well, I think it's a good idea. You're so smart." she made a point to stroke his ego as she walked across the sand to find a spot to settle into. Once she found the one she liked, she looked back to Marcus who...looked like he was having a discussion. Dis-cussion.
"How about we sit right here and then you can go bother Ian for a bit?"

"Really?" He looked at mimsy, more curious now. Did she had a mini starchart floating around in her head? "I'de love to see." He paused, wondering if he should continue... eh why not. "My phone had something called Google skymaps on it, i used to use it sometimes to see the stars when i wasn't able to actually see them." But he couldn't use it now, energy saving and all.
He grew silent once again though, watching Robert (Aka ********? What?) appear and go a rather impressive belly flop.
He turned to stare at Heidi for a moment, frowning. He actually had met these people before, so now that he was in the mass of them he wasn't as quiet. "I think we could camp without tents really if we wanted. The sky is clear, its not too hot, and the fog is gone. Is it true there was stuff in the fog? I was told not to go too deeply out into it... something about still being too squishy?" Aka: trainee don't get eaten by the fog dragon.

At the 'don't get caught' Bix simply gave Ceres a sly wink again. He listened in on the others talking and thought that camping actually sounded fun. "You ever been camping?" He asked Ceres quietly, untangling their hands so he could loop his around her waist instead. "Though honestly.. I feel less safe without the fog, as dangerous as it was on it's own."
