Mathew's journal is practically brand new,
sparse scribbles throughout it only appearing when his parents are watching him.
For the most part the primarily blank book sees his broken pencil
for bored doodles.

It's kept--- somewhere in his room.

Usually between the bed and the wall or in the bottom of the closet.
He loses it a lot but doesn't care enough to find it again.

xoxoMathew Valentine Young. Born to Michael and Anna Young, mid summer and definitely the apple of his fathers eye. The boy is a rough and tumble sort, always dirty- adventuring, rustling up trouble. Think of him as Simba with less fur and opposable thumbs. Honor and exploration.

Growing up in a city drove Mathew crazy, and he would look forward to weekend trips into the woods, camping, hiking, cave hunting; when his parents told him about the move to Nirvani, he had never been so excited. They were going to have their own tiny farm in a smaller community surrounded by the sea. All the new things he could see and collect swamped his mind and every weekend he was up by 5am, ready to board the ferry. He got Bay to come with them most the time but no matter how much he prodded at his older sister, Marie insisted she would never go there by choice or for fun.

Now that they are here, his excitement has not dulled in the least. Sure he had friends he would miss back home, but that was life and he was on a new adventure; Home sweet islandy oceany home.
