Pausing, he contemplated what to do when he finally noticed the latches on the side. Oh. He wasted no time undoing them, and pulled the grate with ease, ignoring the lever. What's done is done.

Below deck, he wrinkled his nose at the smell, lifting an arm up to his nose to hopefully help diminish it. At least there was a lantern, and... though it provided some light, it was still quite dark.
He heard a clatter, but didn't have time to think more of it as the boards underneath him suddenly gave way, plunging him into cold dark water. He tried to swim, tried to climb back on board, but he felt himself being pulled down, down...
Maybe the darkness wouldn't be too bad. He closed his eyes, listening to the song.

Poke had stumbled upon the wrecked remains of a ship, bobbling lightly in the water as what was left of it stayed afloat. Wrecked ships were always interesting Wrecked ships meant treasure. She was all over this.
Upon jumping onto the deck, she had to move quickly to evade the falling sale as she moved to the other side, trying the door only to find it locked.
She couldn't get to the door, but there was a grate on the floor. After fiddling with the latches (and then finding leavers that of done that job), she oped it and hopped down.
The fishy smell did not concern poke, but the lines of chains did. Just what had been kept down here? She tried not to focu son that but the rusty tools that were heaped in a corner, and she sorted through them as worry gnawed the back of her brain. Eventually she did find something of interest; A key.
As soon as the door opened, The ship began to sink. Wondering how that worked, she tried to find...something. She wasn't sure what it is, but she had to find it.
Instead she found a trap that knocked her out cold.
