She heard the voice, gentle and muffled and slurred and almost impossible to understand. Shasa shifted towards it, nearly shuddering with excitement as she began to shape words, soft and wispy.

That small word took so much effort, but Shasa continued, overjoyed for reasons she did not understand.
"Do you? Your name?"
Her features, half-broken and almost clownish, came together to form an odd, gaping smile.
"Shasa. Who are you?"

The fragment moved out of reach just as she was about to catch it; it would be the last one, she told herself, there was no use listening to these voices if she wasn't even sure why she wanted to listen to them.

This place, he thought, was actually rather pretty.
Or it might have been, at one point in time. Now the steep and crumbling slopes of the cliffs are craggy and sharp with age, the water rippling softly. He looks around, eyes flickering from side to side with an odd sort of interest, a hand reaching out every now and then to touch something, fingers brushing over each surface...
Something was glowing up ahead, soft and gentle. He reached towards it curiously.

Looking at a shard that was hanging in the air, she gave it a look before scrunching herself as low to the ground as she could muster. Springing herself up, she just barely managed to catch the shard with the tips of her fingers. before gravity brought her back to the ground.

The words that echoed in her head before receding made about as much sense as the words before.

Lyzzi picked another fragment up, quietly listening to the voice; this time, instead of a sentence or phase, she heard one word - Lizzy. It took her a while to realize that rather than a word, it was a name of sorts. Whose name?

The fourth came quickly and with swift snatching up. Arsenic flinched at the touch of this one. More sadness. Why so much sadness? It was disheartening, but the thought was thrown from her mind at the sound of a voice.
She looked up, blinking owlishly for a moment. "... Not sure." She said finally, by way of both greeting and answer. "Here is here, s'pose," Arsenic added as she pocketed the orb. "Cryptic as it is." She would've smiled, if she thought it would do any good.

More and more people had filtered in. Nush didn't pay them much mind. Instead, he just made his way to the next crystal. Finally, he managed to get a hold of it. He wasn't sure what he should expect when he did this, but he definitely did not see what came next.

He furrowed his brow at this. What? It had a vague familiar sense to it, but he had no idea where that had come from.

"...Imuiel." he replied quietly after a heavy pause, watching the other smile with building curiosity. Could he do that too? He wasn't sure; the thought of attempting to twist his...face into something else hadn't yet occurred to him. The shape was momentarily distracted by a shard floating by--he missed this one as well, with his intended target fading once more as he reached for it. With that small failure made concrete, he folded his hands together (why did he call them hands, though?) in front of himself, eying Shasa calmly.
"Unaware. This is new." He cocked his head to the left, straightening a little. "I do not...know."
