The hall was a dead end. The fragment had nowhere left to turn and Lliote cornered it successfully. He clenched it tightly in his fist, lest it get away. When the fragment pulsed, he heard words, a voice.
I didn't--
But words, words were wind. He was not here to find words. He was here to find fragments. He was close. He almost had enough. He didn't know how he knew, but he did.

After so many attempts at gathering the glowing orbs, Lectoa realized how tiring this task could actually be. She clicked her tongue, but the surprising difficulty of the job made it all that more interesting. Plus, the orbs were pleasant to watch. She didn’t know what the other blessings were, if there were any others at all, but she was glad she could see more. Others probably couldn’t see, but Lectoa grinned as she made a rather large jump and grabbed another orb. She giggled happily, curiously listening to the fragmented memory before continuing on her search for more fragments.

Reaching for another fragment, the grey-thing tripped and bumped into another grey-thing.

So it would seem fragment one and two belonged together due to their gibberish and three and four were a b***h yelling at some horrible son. Good, maybe the fifth will be a more pleasant one.

Lectoa wondered if all of these tries would make her a better orb-catcher, but alas that didn’t seem to be the case. “E-Eh?!” She murmured dejectedly as another orb flew out of her clawed hands.

He drifted past another shadow who seemed to be hunting fragments too. When he passed, he could see the pulsing of her red core, the curved shadows atop her head. Lliote, wondered if he should say something. That maybe, he was supposed to talk to the other shadows.
But a fragment drifted below his nose, and beyond him while he was distracted. It was his. He needed it. So he turned and chased the fragment.

He wanted to dwell on it, on the longing that came with that name. Alas, he couldn't even begin to understand it. Wondering was pointless. He sighed as he held the thing close, looking about briefly at the others, then back to his own faintly glowing shard. Perhaps... maybe he could understand if he gathered others.
He reached for another silently as he spotted it. It's glow almost masked by the lack of color as he moved to slowly close his hand around it. Perhaps he would have missed it in his hesitation if not for the sudden brush that left him stumbling forward. His finger's closed about the thing as he heard a few words in his head. 'Such a good dog!' A what? He didn't get it. There was warmth, definite warmth. It almost made the boy want to smile as he suddenly realized that he'd been too caught in his thoughts. And there he went falling forward, his arms waving as he did to the ground. He did, at least, manage not to drop the fragments though, even as he slowly shifted to look up toward what had seemingly pushed him. He wasn't angry so much as confused, bewildered as to what had happened.

And as she surprisingly failed yet again, she decided to pause and look around at her surroundings again. She cocked her head when she noticed a figure that appeared to be staring in her direction. Confused, Lectoa opted to curiously wave a clawed hand at the other.

He turned to the horned shadow and returned the gesture. It felt right. And then he turned his attention back to the fragment, which had, in his moment of distraction, floated further down the hall.

Apparently she was too slow, as the other person had already looked away in search of their own fragment to capture. She didn’t blame them for it, though. For some reason, trying to catch the fragments had become quite entertaining for her. Lectoa vaguely wondered how much longer until she would collect enough fragments. Her head perked up when she realized the other person managed to wave back. She jumped, grabbing another fragment. I-I’m sorry! I justjust…fire! “Hi!” she called out this time. Maybe they would say something back!

Further and further down the hall. It floated seemingly faster than any of the other fragments that he had chased. Lliote felt frustrated again, and forced himself to move faster.

"Forgiveness, these winding ways and fog-mist prove to be a hazard for one's movements."
The grey-thing uttered, cradling the four fragments he held. He looked toward the other grey-thing, certain that it did not appear upset or else it would have said something. Brushing himself off with his free hand, the grey-thing looked about for another nearby fragment. These things were truly everywhere and it would seem just about every other grey-thing out there was going for them too. One had to wonder if they all held different messages for them, or did the messages appear unique to the individual who touched them.
He would admit he was half tempted to touch one of this grey one's fragments.
"I suppose one more shall do and I will head back to the Spire. That or I bump into another poor bloke."

When Lliote moved left, the fragment moved right. When Lliote jumped, the fragment jumped higher. No matter what he did, it continued to evade him. The thought of giving up occurred to him, but he couldn't. He wanted this fragment.
