Immediately after putting his boot across the side of Cyrus' skull, Salem spun up to his feet with his arms out wide, embracing the fans as they poured their hatred onto him. The rookie's face was enthusiastic; he was taking to belittling their beloved hero as though it were a jovial task. But insulting Cyrus wasn't enough - while the referee looked after Leone, the M.W. Deuce leaned over the opposite ropes to shout at the first few rows, a couple pieces of litter hurled at him for his troubles.
"No more heroes!" he proclaimed, stompimg his foot on the canvas. "No more saviors! I am the future! So watch your past die tonight!"
Shaking the ropes as he turned around, thr Charismatic Calamity caught sight of Cyrus struggling to stand after the repetitive headshots he'd been taking. Salem, himself still lacked sensitivity in his spine after that superplex, but the battered brawler was amped up on an injection of adrenaline following his surge of momentum. As "The Dream" was recapturing his coordination, Croft would charge forward with his shoulder, seeking to slam Cyrus into the corner with a sickening spear!

The Dream lowered his hands to look at Salem as he spouted nonsense out to the audience. Cyrus' mind clicked as Salem charged at him with the spear, this was his chance, he knew exactly how to turn this match around. He would break into a sprint at the M.W. Deuce. He quickly slipped out of Salem's path, and would hook the arms to go for the D-O!

Salem was only just heading towards the corner when Cyrus nimbly evaded his spear at the last moment, catching Croft by surprise with his Half-Nelson Facebuster! Hope was still alive for fans of "The Dream", a majority of the arena erupting into cheers as the M.W. Deuce was doubled over face-first into the canvas! Rolling over to his back, the rookie reached up to cradle his face and shield his throbbing eyes from the set lights above, checking for blood while trying to regain his senses.

Cheers erupted from the fans as Cyrus hit the Dream-Over! With Salem now on his back, this gave The Dream yet another opening. Cyrus quickly went for the mount and would send a few elbow into Salem's face!

Cyrus was pouring on the pain as he got atop Salem's waist and started raining down elbows, threatening to bust the lad open with a stray strike to his face. His forearms already in position to protect him, though, the attack startled the freshman back into focus, quickly trying to buck "The Dream" off with his hips over towards the nearby corner.

The Dream was lost in throwing shots, each one felt more satisfying then the last. Cyrus was finally kicked off of the M.W. Deuce and fell back into the corner, catching himself on the ropes.

Salem surprisingly wasn't bleeding following his former teacher's tirade, but he was dizzy and disoriented as he got back up to his feet, stumbling from side to side a little while still stroking his sore scalp. The fans around ringside were eager for more, hungry to have Cyrus continue his assault on the ailing athlete!

Pushing himself out of the corner the Dream stepped close to Salem would throw a swift kick aimed at the rookie's gut. Cyrus would then immediately follow up by hooking his arm around Salem's neck and attempting to lift him into a vertical suplex. He would look to drop the M.W. Deuce over the top rope, and finally end this match.

Salem was doubled-over by Cyrus' quick kick to the gut, eyes widening and watering a little as he was locked-up with and lifted into a vertical suplex. Despite the sudden inversion of perspective and the blood rush to his brain, the Charismatic Calamity had the wherewithal to try fighting back, flailing his legs in efforts to bring him back down towards the ring so he could stand on the middle ropes!

With Salem flailing about, it was hard for Cyrus to keep him up in the air. The M.W. Deuce was able to lower himself down onto the center rope through his thrashing. The Dream quickly attempted to adjust this and lift Salem back into the suplex.

Thankfully, Salem's kicking had loosened Leone's grip on him and forced Cyrus to sit him back down, allowing Croft to compose himself a little before "The Dream" tried to heave him back up, again. However, as Cyrus tried lifting the light-heavyweight back up, the M.W. Deuce would try flailing his legs once again...this time, lashing an arm around Cyrus' neck to attempt transitioning back down to the canvas into his trademark submission, the Hangman's Noose! Hoping to sink the guillotine choke in deep from his inverted position, Croft struggled to reassert himself before he was hurled out of the ring!

The Dream lifted Salem up once again, and once again Salem was able flail his way out of it. The time, however, he was able to wrap his arm around Cyrus' neck and was able to transition into his Hangman's Noose submission!

Salem's resilience proved fruitful once more, reversing what was a potentially potent elimination into a cleverly created chokehold. Reaching underneath with his spare hand, the rookie wrenched the guillotine deeper while leaning backward, trying to leverage Leone forward and away from the ropes while intensifying his vice-like grip.

Now locked firmly in Salem's signature chokehold, The Dream quickly tried to fight out of it. He reached his boot out to try and catch hold of the ropes to break the submission. However, his hopes were denied as Salem began pulling them away. Cyrus' hands went to Salem's arms, trying to loosen the Charismatic Calamity's grasp.

Though he'd barely been able to get Cyrus' feet away from the ropes, he had a whole other ordeal soon after as "The Dream" started flailing his arms upward, refusing to go quietly into that dark night. Taking the supporting hand away from the chokehold, the M.W. Deuce tried leaning back into the guillotine while using his spare fist to swat at Cyrus' spine, trying to club the remaining breath right out of him.
"No!" Salem bellowed, fans pleading for their precious hero to fight through. "Stay down! It's finished!"
