Umiko's stomps shook the corridors of Lulim. Many of the girls who passed her way gave her concerned or questioning looks, but the redhead disregarded all of them. Her main concern was finding one Aiza Mudo. The junior only made it halfway down the hall before she figured clueless searching would yield nothing. At once, she snatched up a random passerby by the scruff of her uniform collar and glared.

"Mudo Aiza; ring a bell? Where can I find her?" She asked gruffly.

With a trembling hand, the girl pointed to the classroom a few paces away. Umiko's teal gaze followed the direction of her hand and, at once, she released the student to her own devices as she decided to confront Aiza. Being such an early hour on the morn, the teacher had not come in to take roll just yet. Students were not migrating into the classroom yet for lessons and many were conversing outside of it. Umiko pushed them aside forcefully then suddenly wrenched the door open with a sharp tug. The sliding door collided with its stopper and bounced forward a bit on its track, causing the girls inside to go quiet.

Umiko scanned the valley of unfamiliar faces until her eyes locked on to one small sophomore preparing for the day. Marching straight up to her, Umiko grabbed her wrist and insisted they go elsewhere with a slight tug.

"Talk. Now," she commanded. "About Shinju."

A small flutter whispers echoed from Umiko's familiar gesture. At once, the twin scowled at the classroom. "Cut the crap, I just want to talk to her," she frowned. The girls, frightened, went back to their business.

Aiza gazed at Umiko with brows furrowing in confusion but stood and began to walk outside the classroom. She was a little upset at being treated so badly by the Mizushima sister but cleared her throat and decided Umi was just having a bad morning. "Well, she's about this tall, long hair. Sparkling eyes with a personality to match and umm she's your sister." she said to her a bit playfully. "I'm sorry but you need to be more specific. What would you like to know?" she asked smiling kindly to her trying to not look quite as worried as she felt.

Umiko gave the underclassman an annoyed roll of her eyes. "Don't describe her as larger than life," she scoffed as she walked. "She's just that -- my sister. Not a deity."

The clever retort nearly made the journalist forget her little quip. Almost, but she recovered her memory of what Shinju said. Finding that they had parted a good distance from any lurking ears of the classroom, Umiko finally began to speak. "What's this I hear about you kissing, Shinju?" She asked with a cross of her arms over her bosom. "I know you like her but- By the holy Mother, Aiza, I wasn't expecting you to throw yourself at her!"

Aiza looked shocked and never turned any redder, "I-I-I didn't kiss her!" she just about yelled but quieted herself, "I didn't kiss Shinju-sempai. I know Kotomi did last night..." Aiza looked down at this, her heart becoming slightly saddened even though she knew Shinju didn't feel that way about Kotomi it still hurt. Aiza looked up once more at Umiko, "I'm not that kind of girl Mizushima-san. You don't have to worry about me being that way. I thought journalists checked every resource before coming to a conclusion," Aiza said a little hurt. "Is there anything else you need Mizushima-sempai? Class will be starting soon..."

"WHAT!" Umiko blanched and gave such an shout of ridiculousness, she couldn't believe it was true and disregarded if it attracted any attention. It didn't, however. Did Kotomi really do such a thing? But the second Etoile was never so forceful! Unruly, yes, but never such! The Mizushima, slightly dazed with what she was hearing, rubbed her temple.

"I, um, I know I jumped to a conclusion there, but it was a gut instinct, Aiza. Many apologies. I didn't mean to, um, put blame on you or something. Crud, this really changes the playing field now." Frustrated, Umiko shooed her away. "Sure, head on back. Sorry for holding you up." She gave a quick look to her watch. "Yea, I should head back too. I'm late. Well, I'm always late, but I should go anyway. See you later, Aiza." Umiko gave her a wave with a small smile and left Lulim.

Sighing as she walked back to class Aiza began to mull over her thoughts about Umiko-sempai, I swear just when I think I'm warming up to the girl, she does something like this... I want to be her friend but she sure knows how to make it difficult. Her next class was study hall so she decided to begin working on the ballad. Her first stop was the music classroom to ask to borrow a folder with some blank music sheets. Her second was the Lulim lounge to use the piano. She didn't want to bother the music club by using theirs.

Sitting at the piano, the artist began to play some chords and melodies then stop and write them down. She repeated this a few times until the bell rang. I guess I'll finish up the music and start on the words with Etoile-sama later, she thought while collecting her things and heading to her next class. Aiza sighed as she sat in her seat and zoned out as the teacher began talking about something to do with ancient Japan, Why am I even trying? I'ts no use... There's no point. Her thoughts continued that way into a downward spiral the rest of the class and even when they were dismissed for lunch. Aiza didn't know why she was suddenly feeling this way, this hopeless, she just knew she did. She sat on the far end of the table and talked to no one as she nibbled at her meal.

"Hmm? And to think I came here looking for a smile." A body stood opposite Aiza before it took a seat. It was Shinju apparently out of uniform. Her outfit was business formal with a lavender jacket, pencil skirt, and light blue blouse beneath. A string of pearls hung across her collar and clattered lightly as she shifted her palm to cup her chin and regard Aiza. "Much apologies for the confrontation without introduction, Mudo-san. I'm just a wee bit tired and approached the first person I knew. I've been an ambassador to a handful of charities hoping to donate money to the schools. I've been walking all morning and fled the minute my duty was over."

A sighed escaped from her lips, but Shinju suddenly quieted then began speaking again. "Ah, sorry again for rambling. What's wrong with you, dear?" She tilted her head. "Long morning?" Her mood was a complete shift of what she was yesterday. As always, she got over things quickly, and chose to react with contentment to the world again. It's as if her predicament with Kotomi never happened.

Aiza looked up and smiled a bit as a light blush dusted her cheeks, "Hello, Mizushima-sempai. It's fine, I can see how that would be stressful." Aiza spoke warmly as if she was with a good friend, "It's nothing of great importance sempai, but yes, you could say that I suppose. Are you going to eat something?" Aiza sipped her tea, "oh! I have something for you" she said pulling out her music folder, "I started on the ballad. I just have a bit of the music and was thinking that you could give me feedback on what I have. We can work on the rest later today and change anything" Aiza handed her the folder and smiled, hoping she liked it while munching on some food.

Shinju shook her head. "No. I've poured and drank enough tea and served enough scones during my talk with the sponsors, I couldn't eat another bite. I'm fine for now." The brunette pipped up at the offer of a present. Thinking it was truffles again, she was about to turn them down, when she saw it was the start of the ballad instead. Her eyebrows quirked in surprise.

"Goodness, Mudo-san, I wasn't expecting you to start so early." Shinju didn't sound disappointed in the least, however. In actuality, she was pleased to see the start of the project between the two. Turning the folder over to her, the Etoile leafed through a few pages, scanning them slowly. She tapped her finger onto the cafeteria table as she hummed lowly in accordance with the melody. After doing so in full, she turned a particular page to Aiza and pointed to a few notes. "These should be a little higher," she said. "Other then that, the song is wonderful. It's sorrowful, romantic, but melodic. I love it." She smiled.

((That's so weird that's how I actually imagined it while typing that 0.0 Also, sorry about the length rather lack thereof. I kinda hit writer's block here))

Nodding Aiza took out a pencil and made a small mark on it so she wouldn't forget. "So, do you feel nervous about the play?" she asked and gazed at the Etoile, giving her, her undivided attention, "I know I would be. I'm a horrible actor and I have awful stage fright." The smaller girl also took the time to look over Shinju's features.

[[ Haha, really? Wow. It's no problem with the length; type however much you can~ ]]

Shinju shook her head. "No. Well, not really. I'm used to having eyes on me," she said. "It's the ballet moves I am unsure about. It's been some time since I've taken lessons and, though I've made time or practice, I still am a little stiff."

"I figured as much." after thinking for a moment she said, "Well they say things become easier when you relax and begin to enjoy yourself. I don't know much about dancing or ballet but when I find difficulty in my writing, calming down and thinking it through normally helps." Just then the bell rang, "Oh, I must be going. If you ever need to talk or need some time away from your duties again, I always have time for you. See you this afternoon." Aiza blushed, and decided to go out on a limb by leaving a lingering touch on Shinju's shoulder before walking on to the next class.

Shinju granted Aiza an earnest smile. "Goodbye, Aiza, study hard." The Etoile held her gaze on the sophomore until she was fully gone. Drawing her mouth to a sideways line, she hooked her chin into her hand again, and felt the dread of returning to court sponsors again with hopes of getting money. Before she stood to leave, Umiko strolled into the empty room.

"Come to eat, Umi?" she asked. The journalist gave her a nod in affirmation.

Umiko's hand clutched onto an apple and drew it up to her mouth. The fruit made a ripe crunch as she pulled a chunk from the core and chew heartily. After swallowing, she spoke up to her sibling. "So, Kotomi kissed you?" She asked as if the matter was a casual topic.

Shinju cupped her face into her hands and sighed miserably. "Yes, Umiko, she did," she said. "Please, please, don't remind me."

Taking a seat by her twin, Umiko tilted her head. "I'm just curious, what're your feelings for her?"

"Feelings? You know that, Umi . . . "

"I mean after that healthy smooch."

Shinju blushed and stiffened. "I don't feel any different, Umi," she said. "Actually, Kotomi angered me. I had one of the sisters deal her a punishment. She's been suspended from classes for the next week."

"Yeesh," Umiko retched. "You actually told them about the kiss?"

"Oh, no, no, only about what she said beforehand. Made an, um, colorful explanation about love."

"Ah, mind telling me-"

Shinju huffed. "Don't try it, Umiko. I won't give me a story. Anyway, see ya. I have more people to flaunt at."

"Bye, Shin," Umiko said as the two parted.

Once again feeling broken hearted, Aiza endured her afternoon classes. The ticking of the clocks wearing on her nerves. She couldn't even understand her emotions, they'd been so all over the place lately that she was having trouble keeping up with them. When she reaches her dorm she doesn't even bother dressing up for her night with Shinju and just slides on a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and pulled her hair up into a ponytail which she believes helps her think more clearly. She sighed, It's not a date, just a meeting. After the festival she won't even remember who you are. Stupid Umiko for giving me false hope... Aiza decided to work on homework until it was time to meet up with the Etoile.

Aiza gathered up her things and headed to the lounge. She arrived early as usual, she hated being late and then having someone upset with her for wasting their time. She sat on the same couch, placed the materials on her lap, and, once again, waited patiently on Shinju.

Shinju entered the lounge with a click in her step. Again, she was wearing heels, but the were thigh-high boots that was hidden under the sleeves of her pinstripe grey slacks. She wore a simple button down and her naturally wavy hair that was normally down was in a messy bun. She sported the same pearl necklace she wore that morning, having forgotten to take it off.

Shinju feigned disappointment at Aiza. "Oh, and here's to think I was early," she pouted, but smiled next. "We actually won't be staying here today, Mudo-san. I want to hear what you have already of the ballad in person, if that is all right. We'll be heading to the music room on the upper floor."
