creepy.. not really... you get used to the critters arguing with you after a while about their back story and story line and family tree sorta thing... esp when their relative is the brain child of one of your best friends/siblings...lol so sometimes slam sessions are in order... XD

Pain again i hate pain but due to a bad back i live with it... but it pisses me off more than i care to admitt...

in my case if the device flew and looked cool- i tried to draw it... and would look for used books with pics of them in it just to study and draw them... did the same with the bikes too- which dad never liked... but bein a ministers daughter came with a bit of ... restrictions... :::snickers evilly::: which didnt work... turned into the biker b***h from hell anyways.. lmfao at least now he accepts me and my lifestyle and even enjoys bike fests and air shows now himself... lmfao... :::giggles:::

Ah, I get what you mean.

That sucks. I probably have more issues than I realize, I just don't tend to mess with them...partly because I hate the idea of going to a doctor...and partly because no matter whether it hurts or not, I get told that I'm being a wuss and that it doesn't hurt that much.

Ah, I see now.
I wish I could get either of my parents even slightly into my interests...sadly they don't really care what I'm up to, so long as it's nothing illegal or inappropriate.

I wouldn't really know much about that time period. Then again I wasn't a very talkative child....minus when I was upset. I was a real bad crybaby.
I've had a thing against doctors ever since I got rushed a few towns over for a test to prepare my appendix to be removed, just because the doctors were too stupid to figure out that I was dehydrated. My appendix was fine.

I wonder about that...
I've always been..more or less, left in the dark. An issue I semi jokingly call the "Curse of the Middle Child". Since when growing up all the attention was either on Big Brother or Little Brother. And after My older brother moved out, my mom started babysitting (more like raising) his daughter. And every time anyone would come in need of help she'd have no problems helping them, no matter how much she already had on her plate, despite the fact that afterward she'd blow up at the people in the house just because she keeps helping these people that will not help back and she refuses to charge them anything.
As for dad...he's pretty much a big kid. Selfish and forgetful..having his own universe that he tends to unless there is someone there to point him in the right direction.
(my apologies for the ranting)

Ahhhhhhhhhh... gotcha... you say middle child and I understand.. one of my best friends is the middle child and I so wanted to deck her mom many times and still do and right now her and her buddy are expecting... but thats another story... i just dont like how parents will expect miracles from the oldest... ignore the middle and the youngest is the prodigal child... it never made sense to me and honestly its a pain in teh a** being the oldest... im the one everyone depends on and turns to- not that i mind but sometimes its a bit much on my plate with everything else.

Thats just ******** up dude... you dont take thigns out on your kids no matter how damned full your plate is... and if you happen to you make damned certain to appoligize and reassure them no matter their ages... everyone needs the positive praise and rewards but also the appoligies when things go not so right...

being a big kid isnt a fault its only if you let it take you over when its an issue... cuz Ill be the first to say i can be a big kid too but I know what needs to come first and how to prioritize...

(its all good... sometimes ventin makes ya feel better and can even give ya a differnt way to look at things that can in the long run help you deal and move forward in positive steps smile )

Ah good, so it really isn't just me having this sort of thing happen. A lot of the other people I try to explain that to seem to have no idea what I'm talking about.
Yeah, I caught that the oldest has a pain job, once my brother moved out and I became the go to for hard work..the only difference being, they'd hire my brother...I'm expected to help.

I've tried explaining that to her, but she doesn't seem to see it that way. Though of me and my brothers, I've dealt with it for the majority of my life whereas they've barely had it happen to them. So they go on a warpath when she snaps where I just quietly listen and let her simmer down. I've pretty much gotten use to her snapping, the only time I actually take any offense to it is when she says that I don't do anything. That's when I usually get aggravated..though I still don't bother saying anything because she has this whole "gotta have the last word, I'm always right" type deal when she's like that. And even if you have a legitimate point, then she starts throwing unfair cards onto the table.

True, but as I said. Dad doesn't really know when to be an adult..most of the time.

(Even so, I really can't thank you enough for listening)

Nope your not the only one... Ive got a few friends who are middle children and they all say the same.... as middle kids they get ignored and even passed onto the oldest of the siblings because the parents dont wanna deal with them.... and my other best friend who was the baby of 4 told me she could get away with anything and she would test that just to see if she could.. and she felt how she was treated was wrong becuase she wanted the disapline so in the long run she had to train herself and discipline herself cuz her folks wouldnt...

owch sounds like in your case its gonna be a case of just biding you time then when you're ready make that step on your own into whatever job/career/buisness or school that will make you a better person in the long run... cuz in your case it sounds like your damned if you do and damned if you dont... and that takes years for parents to accept they arent gods over their kids but teachers that have to train in a limited time so the kids can be healthy and productive in the world... and sometimes it does take shock therapy... :::giggles::: just dont go the drug or drinkin route... it only hurts you.. but doing something you love that they might not approve of but earns you a place in teh world of respect really does hit them... lol... my folks NEVER expected their oldest to end up bein the biker b***h but im also one of the gen x freaks... lmfao I still remember the first time my mom saw me with the died hair and the makeup.. she stood at the door and screamed in shock... :::laughs so hard her sides hurt::: it was beautiful.... and then my dad finally said that after everything he was wondering when Id do something like that... now they laugh when my daughter asks for her hair to be died all pink.. which I do give her hot pink streeks for good grades and behavior... but the full pink she has to earn with good grades, behavior and clean room and do the couple chores she has to keep up on... she has a bit of trouble with her room and chores still... lol..

oh s**t... sounds like if you have issues with a game he's the one to go to... damn who the hell was there with the big questions about puberty and s**t like that... Oo... or any finance questions to help you in your future... damn... sounds like he needs a kick in the a** to wake up and smell the coffee and not the pop tarts...

(no worries... thats kinda what people need to do more... people who actually use their senses and brains to interact with other people... and even i know that not every time do I need to be the b***h or sadistic punisher... that sometimes bein a friend is just what the dr ordered...)

I got plenty of discipline, I lacked attention and praise. But yeah, it's nice to know I'm not just being over dramatic and other people actual do know what I'm talking about..

You're probably right on that.
No worries about that. I refuse to take part in those sorts of activities.
Wow! That's quite the motivational tool.

Nah, with games my younger brother is the go to person. I guess you could say that was a figure it out yourself subject..for the most part. Actually my mom takes care of the finances and such, but we did learn about that in school. I guess, but at this point in time one would usually assume that they could be childish, since their children are at the ages that they could fend for themselves.

(That's true. And what an awesome friend you are! smile )

I can imagine.. feeling your the only one who sees something a certain way is a sucky way to feel... been there myself on a few topics... but knowing others are out there really does help... makes the world seem a lil smaller verses you against the world... but thats something I try to give my lil one when she does the right things and does good- praise... yes i do get onto her but her praise dont come in the form of "constructive critisizm" but actual praise and rewards when the situation calls for it....

:::giggles::: for my lil one it is... its like the truck of hidden toys we have.. its a small wooden trunk i have wrapped small lil toys or craft projects she wants that are relitivly inexpensive... but she dont know what they are until she opens them... and she only gets to pick 1... this is for her swimming but when she bests one of her competitive times she gets to pick one.... but ive started useing her video games and computer play time for rewards as well... (esp zOMG- she loves to play on my mule/bum account and have my mom, sisters and me play with her... lmfao) but class work has to get done first... (imma mean mom- i even make her clean her room for extra fun projects or campin trips...lol... )

in this area they dont teach s**t for finances.. hell a 5th grader couldnt make change over a 20 dollar bill... i was in shock that by 5th grade a kid couldnt make change and now I see 14 year olds not able to volunteer at the consession and make change for a 7.50 purchase paid for with a 20 dollar bill.... :::rolls her eyes::: i wanted to paddle them because they thought it was funny to not know! but im one that thinks uneducated people are just not funny... and not amusing or cool... besides what fun is it to enter into a battle of wits with unarmed people...::giggles evilly:::

while i do think we should always be in touch with out inner child and know how to have fun... i really dont think a parent should just revert because their kids can fend for themselves... they should remember that one day those kids are gonna be the ones taking care of them... something I reminded my folks of a while back and now we're at that point... lol... but ill be the first to admitt that my lil one, my dad and i will sit and watch looney toons and still laugh our asses off! all the while my mom starts talkin about brain cells dying... lmfao... but everyone needs that be young moment... it just has to be balanced with your resposibilities.. (yea i cant spell worth s**t either and ive taken my vitamines so im dead now... lol but ty... i try to be there for my friends and to those im gettin to know who show respect get respected back and in some cases get to be a good friend... smile )

Yeah, it really does.

Not quite sure I'd classify that as mean...more strict if anything.

Well, our school doesn't really either, but I was homeschooled for the last 3 years, in which that was a topic that was covered. Then again, math has always been my strong suit so that wasn't that big a deal with me.
Yeah, those sorts of people are most....annoying.

That's true, but it appears to be a difficult task for some, more than others.
I can't even get my parent's to watch cartoons anymore though they do have quite the childish conversations. To be honest, I think my Dad is the way he is because he's a counterbalance for my Mom. She's a serious all work type person, He's more a fun loving person..though he can be serious and work.
(Alot better than some people's. I see, vitamins kill people.... That's an uncommon trait for people in recent generations...so it's always refreshing to find people like that.)

::nods her head:::

I honestly dont mind bein the mean mommy but because of all I do with my lil one she goes to her friends and gets to talk about visiting this park and camping at this state park or visiting this place or that place (typically state parks and reserves) or going to bike fests and pow wows and having bonfires and going to drum circles and ghost tours... all her friends think im the "boss" and the "cool mom" even some have asked her if we're rich! if these kids had any idea of some of the free or inexpensive things that can be done in our state they'd s**t themselves.. but some of them are too scared of the outdoors to really think of doing anything ohter than theme parks... though her and i have laughed about what theywould do if we had a big beach camp out one year and they had to "rough it outside" :::rolls her eyes laughin:::

Gotcha.. homeschoolers are typically in a class all their own... they're ususally a hella lot real life smart and even educationally smart than public or private schooled kids... I should know... lol my lil one is home schooled and several of her closest friends are too and those girls are too sharp at times... way to sharp... but id much rather see her be sharp than the duuuuhhhhhhhh.... as Ive always told people who laugh and call me a smart a** "Id rather be a smart a** than a dumb a**" lmfao but these homeschooled girls would definatly be well armed in a battle of wits and smarts... :::laughs holdin her sides::: i just wonder what the high school years are gonna be like cuz their just arround the corner...

OMG the dont watch toons! What are they on glue?! (just kidding there) wow I just couldnt imagine not watchin some every now and then... toons or even the anime... thats like not in my vocabulary- not watching some at some point... hell my serious proper and mannered mom watches anime with us! (dont let the old hag fool ya she actually likes some of them too...lol ) to each their own i guess... tis sad to miss out on good old fashioned toons and anime but some people just cant open their minds enough to see the balance of entertainment... lol

Ahhhhhhhhhh i getcha... my folks are like that mom serious proper and well mannered dad goofy and a bit barberic... (both worked and were active in the congregation as well as delt with us kids) but even my mom has her barberic moments... lmfao... and its too funny cuz she acts like nothing happened then she starts gettin red faced and starts laughin... damn shes too funny like that and even more so now that shes gettin to be one of those old farts... lmfao...
(ty, you should see it when i type on word... lmfao tis very good... my vits are needed since i react to so many diff meds... but they're not the out there ones but the natural ones that the body needs and mine dont get enough of... or when the days been too rough i take a melatonin and it helps me sleep a lil bit better... tell me about it most people are so focused on what you can give them and how much blood that your willin bleed to help them- which ive told those fair weather friends to ******** off cuz im not wastin my time with them, not like they really liked me anyways all they were tryin to do was use me and thats not gonna happen... i find it refreshin too cuz so many cant come to terms with the phrase "agree to disagree and move the ******** on"... lol )

Dang, if that's what you call the mean mommy, I'd love to meet the nice one.
Can't say I've ever done anything like that...then again the family's busy most of the time and there is literally nothing that interesting around here that we haven't done to death.
I'm probably laughing at that last part more than I should.

That they are, but that's typically due to the school system having you repeat all the stuff you've learned the previous year, for a good portion of each new one. (If I'd have stayed in the building, there were chances I wouldn't have had a math class my last year, due to already being in advanced math)
Only time will tell, I'd say.

Nope. Mom won't let toons on the TV except early mornings when my niece is here. Any other time and the moment she enters the room she'll either demand the channel changed or will wait till you have to leave the room and change it on you. Other than that, she's always too busy to sit around and try watching anything cartoon or anime. Dad, he just doesn't want to get caught up in anything, has some sort of issue with shows I try getting them to check out. (Sad part being, I've watched tons of anime, finding something for either one of them wouldn't be that difficult, they just won't let me...nor will pretty much anyone, because they hate that I can find things that will take them away from whatever other things they do)

Yep, thus it sort of encourages the whole Opposites attract thing.

(Ah, I see. I see. Sounds...complicated.)
Oh, if people could do that there wouldn't be half as many problems in the world as there are now.

lol.. hmmm do I know a nice mommy.. i dunno... theres some i know who let their kids do anything and i mean anything... those i just wanna tie to a dungeon wall and leave em...

we're thankful cuz theres so much to do in florida its unreal, but we prefer the "natural" side to it... the theme parks in my book are way over rated for what they offer and with them once was enough for me but over the next few years she will get to visit some at least once... lol... but the big ones shes interested in are the water parks...lol.. go figure she swims 6 days a week and for a vacation she wants to go to a water park... lol
laughter is very good... esp about some people who think roughin it is stayin at a hotel instead of a resort... lmfao... them on a beach campin and not bein able to call for room service... that just cracks me up...lmfao

Oh man i remember the damned year my advacnced group got put into normal classes because of the program we were in getting the ax... i told the teacher i wasnt doin the work because i did it the year before... lmfao.. i was in elementry school then so it was a call to my folks and i even told them we were told we'd be in the next books not doing the ones we already did... it didnt work and i didnt do much of s**t that year... until we were in the next level of books and then it was mostly A's again... lol... i spent a wee bit of time in the corner that year... :::laughs so hard her sides hurt:::... if my kid was in public or private school... id be in trouble... i would ge the call first thing in the mornin to speak with me and then have to go to the school and then when i get their theyd take one look and understand why my kid is so outside the box... lol... so home schooled she is and it fits our lifestyle and schedule much better while she gets an actual education and learns to live in the real world verses a world where you can blame everyone and everything for your mistakes and cry you werent hugged enough by somebody after being swatted with a shoe of some sorts...

owwww damn shes not lived life then... yea i can understand id really be annoyed of no matter what is was the parentoids refused to even sit through one episode of something... lol.. omg that was how I got my mom hooked on a couple anime... was watching it when she came into my place and she stayed watchin it and next thing ya know it was a tradition.. late night anime and midnight snacks... lmfao... even my lil one got a chance to watch inuyasha with us a couple times... (back then she did wake up about midnight for a "snack") i think parents should try to find some things in common to do with the kids.. just helps form that adult parent and adult child bond as the kids get older and the parents go from being the parent to being a friend then bein cared for.... XD

I learned the hard way opposites DONT make for good mates..(at least for me)... there just wasnt the balance like ive had with a couple other kick a** guys... lol... no regrets tho... live and learn and better yourself...

(thats why theres the issues.. they know that but just dont wanna see that so they make things miserable for everyone just cuz their miserable and full of self loathing and hate and respect...)

Ah, I know those kinds of people. That's rather tame for how the kids are, normally.

Florida? That explains a lot. Compared to Illinois, it would have a more interesting take in nature. Water's fun...well, that or she's a fish...whichever you'd prefer.
True..though I probably wouldn't have room to talk, pending on the day, since I'm clueless on stuff like camping.

Sounded fun. I was just in advanced math...even then it didn't seem that hard, so long as I had a piece of paper to work on...then they had us using calculators and I was a little less apt to it. I had to check my calculator's work on paper, just because I wasn't sure I was doing it right.
Is that how schools work there? Here they go with this fancy line "If we didn't see it, we can't do anything about it" which is a blatant lie, since when they do see something happen, pending on the person they'll overlook it or condemn the victim for it....though I guess on the other hand, it does teach one that the world isn't fair.

Well, there was a time when she'd watch TV with us when we were younger.. Had her stuck on Pokemon and Digimon, but as time went on, she quit doing so and now won't really sit still long enough to try to get into them.
Inuyasha, now that's a classic that almost anyone could get into...at least a certain points.
Sadly, I think that's just a me thing with my family. I mean, my older brother's interests have changed to a less...tolerable area. My younger brother shares an interest for motorcycles with my dad and somehow can get my mom into the miscellaneous gaming things he gets, even if only for a moment. And I have an interest in anime and manga, which is I guess a lesser topic for them...or I just don't make is come off as that interesting.

Well, depending on how you want to look at it, I'm pretty sure almost every relationship has it's opposites, be they personalities, interests, likes, or genders. I mean could you imagine being in a relationship with someone identical to you...it seems like it would be boring after a while...and disturbing. (severe deja vu moment there)

(...Is it bad that religion was the first thing to come to mind from reading that?)
