While momentarily surprised, all Arianne did was smile wanly. "Tahlia Rocio didn't exist. As Tahlia, I didn't have a last name." Glancing over at Adrian, she let the implication rest in the air. Only those born out of wedlock weren't granted their fathers names. Glancing back at the water, she rested her head on her hands, wondering why it felt oddly nice to have been discovered. Her priestess elders and her goddess demanded she relinquish her past life, but for just a moment, she could have it back. "That's why I was named Tahlia- it means Morning Dew. As close to having my fathers name as I was going to get." And yet she'd had a completely different name thrust upon her. Turning and resting her back against the railing, she glanced at him. "So what gave it away?" She wondered if he'd notice she hadn't answered his question. Probably. He'd proven himself astute.

"I suspected from early on that you were more than a preistess, remember?" He said with a smirk. "And your friend, didn't help you much. Calling you Lia. You also adapted to the speech far faster than an ordinary priestess, and there is no priestess alive that would know a Pirates flag by sight, and identify the captain, just by the Jolly Roger. And now, I have something important to do." Adrian stepped back and bowed to her, "Tahlia, welcome to the Lunaretic. Your father was an inspiration to me. The greatest Privateer to ever sale."

Arianne gave a bit of a nod at his statement, admitting he had had his suspicions from the start. Grimacing when he pointed out Ela's involvement, Arianne nodded again. "I didn't think to tell her not to call me that." Hearing that the flag was what gave her away, she chuckled softly. "I didn't even think about how odd a talent that must've seemed." When he said he had something important to do, she nodded, and started to turn away, assuming that meant he was leaving. And then suddenly, he was bowing to her. To her. "I-I" Shaking her head, and barely recovering, she glanced away. "I'm Tahlia no longer. Priestesses shirk their past lives when they take their new name and robes." Her heart hurt saying the words. "But thank you." She smiled bittersweetly at him. "I'm glad his memory and legacy lives on." Her father would not be proud of the path her life had taken, but he would be proud of how she'd weathered all that was tossed her way. She had to believe he'd be proud.

"Give up the ruse Tahlia." He said refusing to call her, what he considered now, to be a false name. "You can cover yourself in the trappings and the etiquette of a priestess. But inside you have your fathers blood. The blood the the most feared privateer of all time." He smiled stepping close to her, "With his legacy alone, you could rule the seas. Do you realize what Robert Dewey, or should I say Rocio, means to most pirates and privateers today?"

Arianne gritted her teeth when he accused her of living a ruse. Lifting her chin stubbornly, but remaining calm and steady, she stated. "I am a priestess. It might not have been voluntary, but I made the vows, I made the pledges. I am a priestess, I am Arianne Kyoko, and my life as Tahlia has ended." When he stepped closer to her, she felt her ears heat with what she assumed was rage. "No, I don't. Because to me he was my father, a kind man who tossed me in the air and taught me to love the sea. Why would I wish to rule the seas when I am perfectly content as a high priestess?" Tossing her hair out of her face, she stared him down. "I am Robert Dewey's daughter, and I keep the promises I have made... No matter why I made them." Pausing, she tilted her head. "Wait. How did you know my fathers real name?"

"Because you are only content. Not happy." Adrian said, still smirking. "Thats why you went to a pirate ship. Instead of any other of a number of transport ships. Private cruisers, could take you to Homenai. Instead, you went out looking for pirates. You still want it. You still crave this lifestyle. You took the vows yes, but did you truly mean them? With all your heart?" He said cocking his head looking at her, "And I'll tell you how I know your father, when you answer my questions. And until I am convinced otherwise, you are Tahlia, and Arianne Kyoko, is little more than a false identity forced upon you, against your will."

Arianne shook her her head, frustrated, and slammed a fist onto the flat surface of the railing. "You don't understand. I was a child, barely a teenager, told I was to become a priestess or go on the streets." She glared at him, firey with the first emotions in years. "I'd lose everything I'd ever known- AGAIN. All because of a damn mirror only I can use!" Her eyes were firey tempests now, a sea at storm. "Becoming a priestess wasn't voluntary. It's not like I could sail off into the sunset- my fathers ship sank with him, and no sailers were eager to hire a woman. This isn't a duty I can shirk!" She shook her head. "I didn't seek out pirates because I miss the life, but because I needed someone who wouldn't ask why I was going to Homenai." Practically shaking with fury, she stared into his eyes. "I took the vows, and that means I will abide by them unless the goddess herself tells me I don't have to!"

Adrian smirked even more at Tahlias rage. "Now thats the temper Laith told me about." He said with a smile. "And yes, you heard right, Laith. Your fathers second mate. He was also the first captain I ever sailed under. He loved to talk about your father, and of course the lovely Tahlia. Cute, but with a temper like a bull shark when she gets mad." He said crossing his arms and looking to her. "And I never let anyone tell me how to live my life. Least of all a temple. You might want to have a talk with your goddess about their recruitment policies." He said, his had absently gripping the handle of the short sword, granted to him by the same goddess he spoke of.

Tahlia's rage dried up in a split second the moment she heard Laith's name. Flashing back to the man who'd been like another father, or a big brother, to her, she remembered how hard he'd tried to fight to raise her after her father and his first mate had gone down with the ship. Instead, her mother had shown up out of the blue and taken her away before he could say otherwise. "Laith?" She smiled, her whole face lighting up. "You knew Laith? Is he still alive?" She heard his description of her, and she flushed a bit. "I was a wee child when he last saw the likes of me, you can't trust his recollection." At his next statement, her smile faded, and she glanced away. "I hadn't seen the ocean in years, and I had ties where I was that I didn't want to lose... It didn't seem like such a bad idea. If I couldn't sail like my father, why not be a priestess? Especially when it kept me close to my only friend." Her gaze almost flickered over to Ela, but she didn't want to draw the girls notice, so instead her kept her gaze on the Captains. "Why are you so curious about me? Why are you trying to push me towards the sea?" She put her hand on her hip, for a moment sassy. "Aren't you supposed to avoid competition?"

"Laith? Oh yes, that man is still alive. The dock I picked you up at, he's a harbor master. As well as the head of a smuggling ring and a black market. The man just couldn't stay away from the illegal. Not that I care. He gives me a damn good deal on what I bring in." He said leaning back against the rail. "And ever said competition. I'd say partner." He said locking his gaze to hers, "You've got the sea in your blood, Tahlia. You may be able to stay a pure, untainted priestess forever. But you will always feel as though something is missing. It's that craving of the sea. Tell me that you don't feel more at home aboard a ship then you ever did at the temple? Hmm?"

Adelaide hadn't been paying attention to the two of them, until she heard Arianne pound her fist. She walked over and stood between the two, obviously annoyed. She glared at Adrian and so began her rant. "Enough. You're aggravating and upsetting her! I don't care if you are our only way to there, knock it off or I'll start 'doing something foolish' Captian." She was holding her shield out and had her hand on the hilt of her sword. Her eyes peered at him. "It's time to retire for the night Lia. Let's go." She placed her open hand - the one that was previously on the sword hilt - on Arianne's shoulder softly.

Surprised, having forgotten about Adelaide on some level, Arianne glanced over at her, suddenly reminded of her duties and responsibilities. Seeing the warrior princess, standing tall and proud and doing what she must, Arianne felt selfish and small for wanting to be Tahlia, daughter to a wicked privateer, all over again. Lifting her chin and sliding back into the tight mask she wore, Arianne nodded. "Of course. Good night, Captain." With a nod, and pain need deep in her black eyes as she glanced at the water, Arianne turned towards the inside the of the ship.

"And just where do the two of you intend to sleep? My cabin, is of course, mine. The only other place would be below deck. With a lot of men who haven't been with a woman for some time." He said, still leaning back against the railing. "As it turns out, I have no passenger quarters. This is not a passenger vessel, after all. Its a pirate ship." He said before walking over to them, and stepping next to Adelaide whispering, "And you would do well to remember that. Never disrespect or threaten me aboard my ship, ever again. Be glad there were no crew around to see that." He then turned to Ari.....Tahlia. That was after all her name. "Tahlia," he said holding out a key. "Thats the key to my cabin. I'll probably sleep, if I sleep at all, in my study. I have charts to look over. I may need to alter course, depending on weather."

Arianne turned around, smiling sickly at him. "I intend to sleep in the cargo hold, with a pistol in my hand and one eye open." She crossed her arms as well, lifting her chin stubbornly at him. She watched as he whispered to Adelaide, with a sneaking suspicion it was more threats. "Kindly remember, Captain, that she's only defending me, and any threats to be made against her for that action, I would appreciate hearing." She gritted her teeth when he said her real name, but didn't argue. It would be pointless. She glanced at the key, and raised an eyebrow. "Why so kind? We are capable of adapting in the cargo hold, if you'd rather. It's a full deck below the sleeping quarters of your men. Whichever would be kinder to you." There was no bitterness in her words, despite the raised eyebrow.

"My cabin can lock. And the bed will likely be nicer than a hammock or cargo crates. the door on the cargo hold would not stop a lust driven man, who could probably easily overpower both of you. The lock on my cabin will. Take generosity when it is given. I'm sure theres a teaching of the goddes somewhere saying its rude to refuse kindness granted, or some such other nonsense." He said, not wanting Tahlia to get into a religious tirade. "Go to sleep. My men are up with the sun. That means breakfast is shortly after dawn. That is, if you intend to eat."
