He grabbed the rest of his things then draped an arm over her shoulders, tugging her into his side. "I'mma pull y'closer so that blush of yours can warm me up," he teased shamelessly. "So, skinny dippin's off your to-do list--y'gonna come up with some more? Y'should write 'em all down, we'll see what we can do!"
And he started for the dorms again--looking as if he'd done absolutely nothing wrong.

Before he could lead her too far away, Lark dipped down to scoop up her clothes and the pop she'd nestled in the sand. Oh, Jack, walking back to the dorm in her swimsuit couldn't possibly be more embarrassing than skinny dipping with Roch, right?
Right?
"Gonna make a whole list," Lark buried her face in her crumpled clothes so that he couldn't see her blush, "n' sockin' you in th'nose might be at the top of it, jest so y'know, Jackdamn it, Roch!!"
She didn't pull away from him, though, which probably meant that she wasn't serious in the least.
Probably.
Screw it.
"Where'd y'get that scar on yer back, then?"

He grunted and burst out laughing before shaking his head. "First field trip I went on," he said. "Hunters captured some of my pals in a tent behind the haunted house. An' when I was tryin' t'break down the defenses, one of the jackin' leaders whipped me across the back," he explained. "That's what the scar is."

"It ain't ugly," Lark grumbled in an attempt to reassure him - as if he were worried it might make him less... nope. She stopped that thought in its tracks, instead preoccupying herself by shoving her arms into her shirt. "I jackin' peeked, anyway, okay - there, I said it."
