Ray had leaned over quite a distance in order to try and follow after Repede who had left her handing, her long arm stretched out as far as it could go.
When it was clear that the dog was not going to be giving in, she propped herself back up turning her attention to Luke.
"I honestly should have assumed as much, since I know you're a trainer."
pulling her legs up, bending her knees as she pressed her heel into the grass as she let her arms drape casually onto her knees.
"So whats your team like?"

She looked rather impressed with the first batch that he had named off, nodding her head and opening her mouth to say something until he... continued.
her brow furrowing she quietly repeated the pokemon again. "Hm... Young man, that's about... three pokemon more then would be considered 'proper'... I guess. I mean, not that I really care, but why so many?"

Ray's mouth snapped shut and thinned a little at his explanation.
She had... of course heard about what happened with Luke's brother from Yuri.
"Ah." She spoke after a bit. "Well I can't argue with that reasoning." She pointed out, watching the boy as he seemed to curl up a little.

"Alright." Ray clapped her hands sharply, and suddenly, reaching down to push herself up to her feet again, walking over to stand next to Luke, crouching down next to him "Hey... I wanna see what you and this team of yours are made of. what do you say?"

Sera was extremely glad to be stopping to rest, though there were no benches around and she did not want to sit in the dirt... However, after a few minutes of being tired while standing, she finally ceded and found a spot in a thick patch of grass along the side on which to sit, not far from Luke, and merely watched as Ray and Luke spoke.

"EH! its okay," Ray grinned wide, pleased that Luke was willing to accept her challenge. "I've got the perfect opponent for you then." Ray lifted her head up looking over at Sera. "Sprite! You should come challenge Luke."

"Because Double Stripe and I aren't ready to start battling seriously yet. Not against people who actually KNOW what they are doing. We're still working on that."
Ray glanced over her shoulder at a confused Double Stripe wearing an odd smirk that caused the snake to roll his eyes, seeming to get the women's hint.

"Come on, you three need to show Luke what you've learned too."
Ray pushed herself to her feet.

Ray put her hands on her hips, eyelids drooping a little."You can break when the battle is over. OR you can spend your entire break here arguing with me." A brighter smile lip up Ray's face as she stepped behind Luke "I know how much you looove to argue with me."

Something flicked sharply on the back of Seraphine's neck, as the large red and white snake slithered up behind her, flicked his tongue out at her, and with a pointed stare at Ray slithered up to the tall women, curling around both her and Luke as he made his way around to look at the boy sitting there. Blinking at him quietly in a calm greeting.

Ray frowned slightly, though putting on a thoughtful expression as Seraphine continued to remain stubborn.
Ray knew she could probably pester the girl all night is she wanted to, and win whatever argument she wanted to, but if she had to be honest, she knew she was just wasting time when really she just wanted to know what Luke's pokemon were like. She wanted to see some new pokemon.

"Alright well, I'll ask you once more to come up and do a quick battle with your friend."

She shifted her stance, looking down at Luke. "You might just battle DS and Me instead, that alright?"
