A more cheeky smile painted his lips as he nuzzled his scruffy face into the crook of Ami's neck. "Don't ever expect to." It was part of his charm, the rugged look and style that he tried to keep. Rugged and stylish, a gentleman of the road. Who also listened to metal and killed monsters for a living....
Yeah, that made sense. He gave her a light squeeze, eyes shutting for a bit. "Though, in the same vein, don't ever expect me to grow an actual beard." Because he would look just silly with anything more than 5 O' clock shadow. "I couldn't imagine you with short hair."

"Not even if I requested it personally?" she asked, finally putting the book down and turning onto her stomach to lay more intimately with him. Her chin sat on her arms, which were crossed over his chest so she could see him more clearly.
She looked up at her own tangled wavy mess of hair and said, "What? You don't think I'd look good?" Of course, she hated what she looked like with short hair and would never do it, but she would never miss an opportunity to tease. "That stings a little."

"Not even if you threatened me with chocolate pancakes." He quipped back, kissing her on the nose. "And you'd look good bald, my love. I just prefer your long hair." He smiled, dodging that hole. After ten years of wooing women, did she really think that he would be tripped up like that? "It gives me something to play with." He whispered, tracing a hand down her back.
"You know, I don't think I've ever seen you in shorts. I didn't even think you owned a bottom that wasn't a skirt."

"Then I'll have it shaved by tomorrow," she responded,, shark's grin meeting his smile. "No later than noon."
She sighed at the mention of her shorts. "I even own jeans," she whispered, as though she was confiding a great secret. "Skirts are simply better in every way."
Ami hoisted herself up to keep her face hovering inches over Lex's. Good god his steely grey eyes were gorgeous. "You're sure you won't shave for anything?"

"I don't know...skirts don't accentuate nearly as nicely as a pair of jeans." He grinned, matching her gaze with his own. "Though I kind of prefer that you kept those for my eyes, if I'm allowed to be selfish with you." Which she'd already said he was. He gave a light peck to her lips, before grinning cockily.
"Not for a single thing. You could beg and plead and try to sneak chocolate into all of my meals, and I wouldn't do it." He started to rub the small of her back, where his hands had landed. "Trust me, I'm better with the scruff."

Ami sunk into a deeper kiss, greedily pulling at his lips. It was strange that they could kiss so many times and Ami still felt stirred with each one. Perhaps she was being so aggressive considering they only had one day off for the entire month. They had to get it all in at once, because any other time would be so sparse.
"Even if I wore jeans for everyone to see, shaved my head and got Dakota's name tattooed across my chest?" she teased, squeezing his body as she nipped at his ears. It was quite clear she would never do any of those things, unfortunately.
Or perhaps very fortunately.

Lex enjoyed how greedy and aggressive she was being, and kept returning her favors. He may have crossed the line, though, with the last move; he couldn't resist with the shorts, though. "Not even then - I would have to break up with your for the last one." He grinned, pulling her into his own deep kiss. He knew Ami would never do any of those things, but he could still tease.
"But really, watch yourself around that kid."

Ami gave Lex a disapproving look for that last move. They had places to go and she had just put this outfit on. "Not now," she scolded. Her edge was dulled by a third kiss that promised there would indeed be a later.
"As if I need safekeeping from Dakota," she murmured into his lips. "He needs safekeeping from me."
She grinned something suspiciously malicious, eyes looking into the distance elsewhere before she leaned in for another kiss, this time trailing down his neck. After such a vague statement she needed him to know he was loved, so she piled the sentiment into each touch of her lips on his skin. "Don't joke about breaking up with me," she warned somewhat possessively. "I won't allow it for something so trite."

Ohhh. Oh ho ho ho. Lex enjoyed that promise, very very much. "Sorry love, won't happen again." He grinned, moving to start rubbing her back again. A grin flashed, and with little effort Lex had her in his arms, carrying her like a princess to the door where he put her down.
"You know I'd love to keep flirting on the couch, but there's white sands and blue waters waiting for us." His eyes twinkled with the words, hand clasping hers. He was going to be like a kid in a candystore the second they saw the ocean.

Ami completely misunderstood the reason he was picking her up. She thought they were headed to another room of the house (quite frankly she wouldn't have minded that so much), but then he took a sharp turn towards the door and she felt entirely embarrassed for even thinking it.
A heavy sigh escaped into his shoulder as he set her down, her disappointment poignant in her expression. "You act like the beach is going to get up an walk away." The movement to holding hands wasn't thought about anymore; if Lex was walking by her they were holding hands. "Did you bring sunscreen?" She'd only just remembered that she was white as a sheet. Oops.

"Who knows, maybe it will. I don't think anything could surprise me anymore." He shrugged with a light grin, hoisting the knapsack onto his shoulder. "And of course I did - I couldn't let your ivory skin become dull, could I?" He winked, almost tempted to say another few things. But no, he wasn't Dakota. He was a classy 25 year old man.
Who really wanted to go to the beach and probably build a sand castle after flailing around in the water. Actual adult Lex.

They reached the portal after a short conversation about their plans for the beach. Unsurprisingly, Lex wanted to play and Ami wanted to relax. She gave her instructions to the portal master, who looked at her like didn't you already use this once today? but if he cared he didn't mention it.
"Ready?" she said expectantly. It was a bit unnerving having some of the lab techs eyeing her up- mostly for the fact that she was holding herself so casually and actually looked like she'd slept, but yes, some others more lewdly. "I'd like to get out of here ..."

Any lab tech giving Ami lewd looks would meet Lex's steely eyes and an intimidating smile that he'd obviously been learning from their division head. The Life intermediate wouldn't take anyone looking at Ami, his Ami, like a piece of meat (or for some of these nerds, a tofu steak) kindly. Waving an overly happy wave to them, he stepped through the portal with arm in arm with the petite woman.

The beach - The Caribbean. Lex's eyes lit up instantly, his body pulling and urging to throw itself in the crisp clear blue water. He had other duties to attend to, though. Like rubbing sunscreen onto Ami's back, and applying suntan lotion to himself.
"So... we're here." He smiled, hands already undoing the buttons of his shirt.

The sun. Dear god the sun. Ami hadn't felt a beam that bright in ages. She had to hold a hand up to her forehead the sun was so damn bright. That was what she got for staying in low level institutional lighting for ninety percent of her day.
Once her vision cleared, she could see Lex fidgeting. It was growing increasingly more obvious to her that she would be convicted for *****, since she was dating a five year old trapped inside the body of a twenty five year old man.
"Lex. I'll hold your shirt. Just go." There was nothing more she could do for him. Holding him back was just going to make him fidget more and Ami hated fidgeting. Instead she took the knapsack in her own hands, opening it to pull out the towel she would inevitably spend most of her time laying on, soaking up the sun with a book. They had very different souls.

Lex stopped bouncing on his heels and actually game Ami a slightly hurt look. "What, without helping you out? No." The water could wait, really. Rubbing the oily sunscreen into Ami's skin seemed far more enticing at the moment than jumping into the water. A lot more fun, really. "Just let me get your back, at least." He smiled, already rubbing the lotion in his hands.
Five year old? Only half the time.
