I don't play flute in the band- (there I play trumpet)- but my sister, who is first chair in eighth grade, has been teaching me. We have a few more male flautists/flutists (to be safe) in our band than females, (5m, 4f).

we used to have a male flute player but yeah he had to quit but a few years ago I used to date one I think he still plays but I dont know cause I havent talked to him for about 2 years the jackass

There was a male flute player I met at area all-state two years ago, but then this year he switched to bass-sax.

I'm a male flute player...full time...pretty much...lol
I play everything else under the sun(sort of, only 4 instruments I don't play). It's a lot of fun being a guy flutist.
Especially when you totally rock. XD

One year, my old band teacher promised that he would play the flute for us, but he never did. And now that he's moved, he never will. evil

MUHAMMAD THE 13TH FLUTE!
xd In marching band this year there were supposed to be 5 freshman flutes, 4 girls and a guy. The guy decided at the last minute to do football instead of marching band and just play in class, but he never informed the BD. So we kept waiting for him to show up for band camp. There were 12 girls, so he would be the 13th flute if he ever showed up. We refer to him as Muhammad the 13th flute. (Yes, his name is Muhammad. We didn't just pick it out of the blue.) Doesn't it sound like a book title or something?
I don't know much about him... just that he must be stupid to choose football over marching band.
We also had a male piccolo who gradutated last year. He was really good.

One of my best friends is a guy flute player, and he's always first chair. Lemme tell ya, some of the best flautists out there are guys. No kidding. xd

We used to have 4 flute players, but one quit because his parents wouldn't let him take 2 music classes. The other three are all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chair. They're REALLY good!

We went to go play with the highschool at the football game, and there was about 5 male flutists.

I love guy flute players. ^___^ Mostly 'cause you hardly see them. We have one in our band. And there are three boys in elementary school the play the flute. I saw them at the District Band Festival. ^_^

i am a female trumpet player, and I think guys that play the flute are awsome! one of my good friends is a guy and he plays the flute
