Shane looked about the kitchen as Kay busyed herself, and started to get a real feel for Kay's personality just based on the style of the room. Shane was still fairly hungry but he wasn't sure about Pyren because they had just finished eating breakfast. He figured Pyren would protest though if everyone was eating but him.

"I'm sure a little something wouldn't be too bad." Shane decided.

Pyren hugged the ball to himself and began to push it around the room and chase after it while laughing. At one point he tried to stand up, using the ball for balance, but then it slipped out of his grip and he fell a short distance to the floor. Getting bored now of playing by himself, he decided to see what would happen if he rolled the ball in Delphi's direction

At Kay's mention of trouble and treats, Shane began to chuckle.

"Pyren's odd with his selection of treats. Anything acidic seems to suit his fancy; but I try to lay off of giving him too much soda because it's not too good for him. As for trouble, he's not bound to mischeif but he did fall in the indoor pond recently and that very well may've killed him. Him and water do not get along...which is a problem because he adores fish. He won't even eat the stuff if he knows what it is."

Delphine had completed her pile of precious toys and was sitting infront of it watching Pyren play. It looked like alot more fun how he was playing than the boring game her mother had tried to get her to join in earlier. So she crawled towards Pyren and the ball - when it rolled past her and smacked into her toy pile!

"I guess trouble's not just a Delphi thing." she grinned and smiled even wider when Shane mentioned Pyren liking fish. "Maybe he and Delphi will get along then. Although definately no swimming for them. Delphine like water a little too much."

Delphine stared in shock at the dissaray of toys on the carpet and turned to look at Pyren, then back to the toys again. That had been... she wrinkled her nose... rather exciting actually! She clapped her hands gleefully. Would he do it again?

"Do you think Pyren would like some orange?"

After the stopped rolling, Pyren tried to use it for balance again, but fell down and it rolled through some more of Delphi's toys, but completely in the opposite direction of her, because unfortunatly, Pyren had absolutely no control over the direction of the ball. When the ball stopped for the second time, he crawled over to it again to try and push it in Delphi's direction, but it rolled lazily to the left of her and hit the wall behind Delphi.

"Yeah..." Shane remarked, lost in thought at the fact that Pyren would have so much trouble with water. He started to wonder if, in the midst of all this magic, there was a way for something to be done about Pyren's predicament.

Shane then snapped out of his ponderings at Seer's request
"Oh, I'm sure Pyren would love some orange!"

By this point, Pyren had now given up when it came to the ball. He clearly wasn't getting anywhere with it, and he started to hurt a bit every time he fell down from loosing his balance. Instead, he looked around at all the toys that were now scattered along the floor and picked up a toy police car and began to drive it along the floor. To his surprize, it made a siren noise as it rolled across the carpet. Pyren pushed the car along until it eventually met the obsticle of Delphi's leg, after which contact, Pyren exclaimed.

"KAssss!!"

At the sound of the toy police car, Shane leaned back in his chair a bit to see what it was that Pyren was up to. When he saw the room in disaray, and Pyren ram the police car into Delphi, he shook his head in astonishment and motioned for Seer to also take a look at what the two children had done.

"Can't even leave them alone for a few seconds can we?" Shane said with an over exagerated sigh.

Delphine followed the rather erratic movement of the ball with her yellow eyes. As it bumped into the wall behind her, her tail gave an irritated twitch. That had been no fun whatsoever, no wonder she'd stopped playing with the stupid thing earlier, and it looked like Pyren was starting to feel the same way.

"Ok!" Kay nodded happily adding some slices of orange to the bowls on the bench, already filled with a few assorted heathy snacks, also thinking about Pyren's water troubles.

Delphine's spines twitched, irratated at the sound comming from the car, she was about to roll the ball back at Pyren to see if he'd go back to that game; even thought it was boring, it was less loud and annoying than this new one; when the police car 'crashed' into her.
She was about to voice a very loud protest at this rough treatment when Pyren spoke. That wasn't the sound it would make, she shook her head. "Boo!" Delphi exclaimed smacking her hands together, ok so not exactly the right noise, but that's what it had felt like!
Delphi pushed the car back towards Pyren awkwardly trying to copy the police car sounds as she went, "Wooo Wooo!"

Kay shook her head exahasperated, "Sometimes I secretly dread the day Delphi can walk" she grinned and held out one of the bowls for Shane. "Time for a snack break do you think?"

Pryen giggled and began to copy Delphi trying to copy the police car. What came out of his mouth ended up sounding like a ghost and steam engine coliding with each other. It was a very funny sound to be sure. Eventually, Pyren found that the ground was too boring for the car to travel along, so he decided to expand its horizions by making the car fly in the air.

Shane chuckled "Yes I think a snack break would be a terrific idea...hopefully before any more of a mess is made to your room." Shane replied as he took the bowl from Kay and he walked over and sat down next to Pyren.

"Hey Pyren! Look what Kay made for you." he said holding out the bowl for Pyren to take a look at.

Pyrens eyes lit up as his gaze travelled over all the different kinds of healthy snacks, and bits of orange scattered about too. Pyren let out a happy squeal as he put the flying car down next to him and started to reach into the bowl of food and stuff his face.

"Woah woah! Not so fast there Pyren, slow down!" Shane ordered as he quickly took the bowl away from Pyren, before he could swallow anymore. "You could choke if you eat that fast kid! Here, I'll give you one peice at a time okay?" Shane said, giving Pyren another bit of orange as soon as Shane was sure Pyren had finished swallowing his mush of food without chokeing.

Pyren, disapointed with not being able to stuff his face, began to sniffle a bit at Shane's desision, but he took the peice of orange into his mouth anyways and chewed it quickly before waiting for the next peice of food from Shane.

Delphine's tail swished back and forth across the floor excitedly as she spotted the bowls of food. Snack time!! She crawled over to Pyren to see what he was getting and then wrinkled her nose as the citrusy smell invaded her nostrils. Blech!

Kay scooped up her charge and settled them both comfortably on the floor, Delphine in her in lap. "Here chicken." Kay set the bowl in Delphi's lap, "this one's yours." She bent her head down slightly to whisper conspiratorially in Delphine's ear, "Fishy later, it might upset Pyren ok?"

Delphine huffed and squirmed for a moment at the withholding of her favourite treat, but her grumbling tummy soon won over and she began to eat some of the food in her bowl. A piece of apple half in her mouth she wondered why she couldn't eat fishy while Pyren was here. "Ishy" She burbled absentmindedly mouth full of apple.

It felt strange to Pyren, eating somebody elses food. The atmosphere was different than where he ususally ate and so it made things seem as though they tasted different. Even the oranges tasted different to Pyren, but he didn't complain as he ate what Shane gave him, until he took a bite out of a rasin, which he immediatly spat back into the bowl and started coughing.
"Eeieh!" Pyern exclaimed in disgust

Shane wrinkled his nose as the drool covered dried fruit re-entered the bowl.

"What, you don't like rasins Pyren?" Shane asked with a disguested face

"Ray-in ieuk!" Pyren groaned as he hid his face away from the bowl.

Shane laughed

"Okay, no more rasins then. You're a very picky eater aren't you?" Shane said as he fished out another peice of orange and a bit of cheese for Pyren.

"I have to agree with him about the raisin thing. I don't like them much either." Kay grinned at Shane and Pyren, "I only really keep them because they're a healthy snack for Delphi. Definately not letting her hit the sweets at this stage."

Delphine took this moment to copy Pyren and try to spit the apple back in her bowl. Hey if he didn't have to eat things he didn't like why did she? Unfortunately it just mostly dribbled in chunks down her chin.

"Delphiiiiine." Kay whined slipping her off her lap and onto the floor with the bowl. "Stay put will you? I knew I should've bought some exta bibs." with that she hurried into the kitchen to grab a damp cloth and a tea towl to clean up her grubby charge.

Delphine wiped her face herself, smearing apple over her hands, and then onto her lovely clean dress as she used it to wipe her now apple coated hands. She scooted closer to Pyren and Shane and tried to get a glimpse of what was in his bowl that was so appealing to the blue mishap. All she could smell was that icky orange stuff.

The bowl was almost empty now, except for bunch of rasins, a baby cookie a peice of apple and orange. Shane was happy to see that Pyren's teeth were strong enough to bite at small peices of apple that he gave the boy, and he figured that saving the cookie for last was a good thing for Pyren to suck on as they went exploring for the day. Fishing into the bowl and pulling out the last peice of orange and giving it to Pyren, he looked down at Delphie and chuckled.

"Are you a messy girl Delphine? Do you not like apples?" he asked her playfully.

Pyren had dug his teeth into the peice of orange and instead of chewing it, he sucked on its juice until it was almost dry. The more he ate, the better he felt and the more engergy he seemed to have. Mimicing Shane, Pyren pointed a playfully accusitory finger at Delphi and echoed "Meky!" and giggled a little.

Shane looked to Pyren with a frown, noticing all the orange juice that had trickled down his chin and neck.

"Pyren's also messy," he informed them both "and sticky too."

Not wanting to leave the children alone just in case, Shane lightly called to Kay. "Could you get a we-" he stopped himself "dry cloth for me to clean up Pyren with too miss Kay?"

Pyren, now full of energy again started squirrming to be let down and play with Delphine, but Shane held him in place waiting for Kay to come back. In response to being held against his will, Pyren started whining loudly.

Delphine swished her tail playfully. She was messy? What? She'd wiped it all off her face hadn't she? She reached a hand out to wipe at Pyren's sticky cheek. Now Pyren neeeded cleaning up too!

Luckily Kay came back into the room before Delphine could try to clean up Pyren herself. She scooped up the apple covered girl and replaced her with some soft dry towels for Shane to clean Pyren with.

Delphine fussed as her mother sat her down and began wiping her face and hands off with a damp cloth. She'd managed to get apple on her spines and fins, and she didn't like them being touched one bit! She'd much prefer just to be dunked in the bath like she usually was when she got dirty. The cloth method was far to rough and scratchy.

"So, have you met many other guardians yet?" Kay asked making conversation as an irritated Delphine swatted at her hands.

Pyren made a face as Delphine hand slid across his face. Ew. Pyren gave Delphine a small look of distain for putting her messy hand on his face.

When Kay came by and handed Shane the cloth, he thanked her and began to gently scrub Pyren's sticky spots. It was tough using a dry cloth to wipe up juice, and eventually Shane had to apply more pressure to Pyren's skin in order to clean him up.

Pyren's look of distain eventually turned towards Shane as he cringed the harder Shane rubbed. He wiggled about uncomfortably as green rashes appeared on his skin. By the time Shane was done, Pyren's entire face was sore and spotted green. Mainly on his cheeks.

Shane looked at Pyren's scrunched up face with a disapointed expression. Pyren was no longer a mess, but his face looked like a peice of abstract art. Shane propped Pyren up on his lap now, as he sighed. There had to be a way to make Pyren immune to water.

Shane snapped out of his contemplative daze at the sound of Kay's voice.

"Only three," he replied "Crow, Xiao and yourself. I've also met little Retta, but I'm not sure who her guardian is."

Delphine finally clean, squirmed and managed to sit up in her mother's lap. She almost fell over backwards in shock as she spotted Pyren's face. What had hapenned to it?

Kay shifted the squirming Delphine off her lap and onto the floor again. "I haven't met any of those guardians, there really must be alot of us here. We did meet Retta though." Kay smiled remembering the impromtu concert in the ballrom. "Her guardian is Haze... don't really know her that well."

Delphine had crawled across to Pyren while her mother was speaking. "Pwy??" she asked quizically her head tilted to the side. His face had changed color! She let out a tiny giggle, it did look a bit silly up close.

Pyren was completely oblivious to the change of color on his face. All he knew was that his face was very sore. So when Delphine came over to Pyren and began to laugh, Pyren simply smiled back.

"Haze hmm..." Shane made a mental note of this name "Good to know." Shane then looked at his watch and noticed how much time he'd spent in Kay and Delphine's room. He had alot of other places in the HQ he wanted to explore today too; and Pyren though happy, was looking alot worse for wear.

Taking this as a good time to say good-bye, Shane gently picked up Pyren in one arm, and extended another towards Kay.

"Well, it's been a pleasure meeting you miss Kay. Sorry if my visiting was a little unexpected. Thank you so much for the company and food though. I think Pyren had alot of fun with Delphi. Did you Pyren?"

Pyren giggled again, turning his head from Kay quickly back to Delphi and said, "Elfi meky!" and smiled to her innocently, just echoing the words he'd said before, completlyg forgetting their meaning.

"No no, Delphi is clean now Pyren. Messy is all gone." Shane said as he frowned and set Pyren back down on the ground to see.

Pyren inspected Delphi throughly, expecting to find something out of the ordinary, but he didn't. Taking Shane's word for it, Pyren clumsily embrased Delphi and exclaimed "Meky gone!" as if it was some wonderous achievement.

Kay shook Shane's hand as it was offered. "That's alright, it's always good to meet someone new. You'll have to drop by again sometime." She got to her feet with a slight groan, sitting on the floor might be alright for babies, but when you're older it's a bit more difficult.

As she was hugged Delphine let out a suprised squeak, before she realised what Pyren was doing. She smiled widely, very happy with the attention.

"Delphi." Her mother interrupted, "Say bye-bye to Pyren now."

Delphine let out a whine and hugged Pyren back, as if to say 'I want him to sta~ay'. But then she remembered the earlier promise of fish after Pyren was gone - Ok maybe saying goodbye wouldn't be soo traumatic after all.
She released Pyren from her hug and patted his head gently, "Bah-bee Py."

"I'm sure we will, it's not as if it's a long trip," Shane assured Kay. Then turning to Pyren, Shane announced,
"Okay, time to go Pyren!"

"Bai Elfi!" Pyren echoed Delphine as Shane picked him up gently in one arm and began to head out the door, that shut gently behind them.
