Ida nodded as Shangri-La turned to get a mat, making her way over to a free spot to wait. The need for one made her think about how she was going to handle this, considering the deep wound in her side. Sure, it was stitched and wrapped well, but if she wasn't careful, she could rip it open again...
Well. Best to not get hit then, and not get flashy with it. This would be good practice in economy of motion, and at this point, she could use all the training she could get.
Reaching carefully, she stretched out her legs and loosened up her arms, avoiding side bends that would mess with her stitches.

Columba just kind of stared at the kid with lidded, unamused eyes. Lady like? Critiquing her language? She got enough of that from her sister thank you very much! And she was a superhero, and you don't tell superheroes what to do. However, she wasn't exactly one to dwell on these things and sighed and was back to smiling and ready to go.
She rolled her shoulders and cracked her knuckles, ready to get this party started, but he had a question and she bobbed her head innocently enough, happy to oblige. She was, after all, going to obliterate him in a super powered frenzy of doom, she could hear his final words.

Shang of course had no idea the other girl was injured, having a stitched side, otherwise we would have told her sparring wasn't a good idea. He was after all a doctor first before a knight, which actually made him glad he came. He'd over a quick look over to anyone who wanted it.
He quickly stretched himself out a bit, before taking his stance. He had the stance, if he had nothing else. He trained with Maia enough for that to have been drilled into his head. He eyed his sister warily as she walked around before focusing on Ida again.
"I'm ready when you are," he said feeling slightly nervous, as more often than not in these situation, he found himself having his bottom literally handed to him.

Lassell made a face at being called young, then he thought about it. He was in his early 20s still but he still felt wrong hitting a lady. "hey..I'm not all that keen on sparring with you either" he told her but shifted his footing. "But... we can't do much about it so deal with it" he told her. The sooner the round finished the sooner he could move onto his next sparing partner.
He was not fond of hitting a lady but he informed himself he would get over it."I'm ready when you are" he told her politely. It still made him uncomfortable to spar with people he didn't meet or weren't familiar with. But, that was the whole point of these training sessions to meet people and adapt your fighting style to a variety of different ones.

********* put on the best false pout she could as she discovered the food was a lie. However, before she could drag out the conversation much more, Zia was summoned away. The chubby manx tilted her head slightly at the girl's complaints.
She was pretty sure the cats in general were expected to do what they could to help out. Sure, Zia was an interesting case, but that didn't exempt her in ********* opinion. Shrugging it off, she glanced up to Irene as she proved she was perhaps the most cordial of her girls. "Can I be there when you talk with her next time too? It... might be easier that way!"
She didn't explain what her comment meant, since that would be too much effort during such a time. This Sessrumnir didn't sound like a senshi name to the cat, which made her suspect it was indeed not a senshi. Considering that the cats did not seem to be present to spar, it left only one other possibility. A knight.
Once Irene had located her opponent, and as expected dipped in for another curtsy. Introductions were made easily as the feline remained as an observer for a bit. Sessrumnir had clearly made his origin evident, but the cat was able to locate a symbol of Jupiter upon his belt.
His teasing didn't go noticed, and wasn't taken in bad humor either. The feline simply proclaimed "I am quite certain you would not want me to join in on this... it would probably strain the other cats if I played too." She returned the wink to Sessrumnir. "No need to encourage the Negaverse to come play, right?"
With a slight giggle, she introduced herself. "My name is *********... and I am just here to observe this training session in all honesty." With a slight nudge, the cat signaled to Irene that she was ready to be set down on the ground.

He really had thought he'd have to go around and read every name tag, something utterly embarrassing, he stood hoping he wouldn't have to do that - hoping someone would approach him. It seemed his wishes were answered, as someone did come to him.
Staring at the question it took him a moment but he nodded his head. "I am, and your him I hope." Rather than him being someone who would lead him to Alfheim.
It was a light smile which the teen gave as he held out his hand. "Chaldene, will o the wisp." He spoke. He thought it appropriate to let the other know what his sphere was, in case powers would be getting used. Though did he know what a will o the wisp was? As he was sure some people didn't have a clue.

Pomona hadn’t planned on sparring – wasn’t exactly “in the zone,” and had no adrenaline or danger to put her there – but she figured there'd be no harm in a little friendly fight.
“ Well, no time like the present.”
Not a fan of punching, biting, or really any serious damage-dealing attacks, Pomona automatically went for a defensive move. Raise a heeled boot, kick it out and around, and sweep Athene’s legs out from under him; that was the plan.
Problem the first: There was a skirt in the way.
Not in the least bit used to her new, long, lopsided skirt, Pomona managed to kick the dangling fabric. One of the uneven points of her heel snagged the material, and soon Pomona’s focus went from sparring with Athene to battling with her fuku.
Problem the second: Pomona had the grace of a newborn giraffe.
Yank-yank, tug-tug, fumble-tumble-THUMP. The red-headed ended up in a twitching heap on the floor, examining the ground with her face.
Skirt: 1, Pomona: 0
“ … I meant to do that.” Flopping over onto her side, she eyed Athene. " You know what? It's nice down here. Imma just stay here a bit, but you have fun, 'kay?"
Was her nose bleeding? It felt like it was bleeding. Or crying nose-tears from pain. One of the two.

Good idea or not, it was gonna happen, at least for a little while.
"Alright!" Ida said as she took a defensive posture, then suddenly launched herself forward, faking towards his right before she darted left. Keeping her good side to him, she charged past, lashing backwards with her elbow in a move Aventine had showed her. It was something she'd learned in Rugby, apparently. It seemed like a good way to start things off... keep him on his toes and maybe her out of his reach.
She spun as she cleared him, keeping her front towards him so she could catch his reaction and maybe his counter attack.

"Uh, yeah. I wasn't jumping to go get a nametag, sorry," Alfheim laughed. "Page of Earth," He added. The senshi had given him his sphere name after all.
Alfheim was a pretty easygoing guy, but it didn't change the fact he was dragged to this party against his will after a particularly grueling shift at work, and now he was going to have to spar this guy who looked young enough to be his son.
Friggin' yikes.
He shifted on his feet. "Okay so... uh... sparring..." He was starting to hate that word.

"Jovian?" Irene bit her lip. That wasn't a nationality she was familiar with. Forgetting the rather obvious fact that all of these names were from space anyway, her own included, she began mentally running through a list of countries and coming up with nothing. How could there be a place she hadn't heard of? Was her education really lacking such thoroughness? "I'm sorry, I'm not sure where Jove is. Or is it Jovia?"
As ********* spoke, Irene let her down carefully. "I'm sure, under different circumstances, ********* would be pleased to join us," she replied, a bit miffed by his comments. "As she's needed for other things, I'll be your only opponent, if that's alright with you." What was with this guy, anyway? Just because she didn't have a weapon didn't mean she planned on using ********* as one! Maybe she was taking things the wrong way, but his attitude made her want to beat him even more.
No, that was a dangerous way to think. Irene took a deep breath and looked around. "I think we should get a mat, but then we can begin." She resisted the urge to call him "sir" again. If he wasn't going to treat her with that level of politeness, she did not need to use it with him. Following the other people who were grabbing mats, she dragged one off the top of the pile and, staggering just a little under it's weight, hauled it back to her partner, letting it drop to the floor with a thud. Once she'd caught her breath, she took off her dove-shaped purse, setting it off to the side, and stepped onto the mat, frowning at the way her heels sunk into it. That could be problematic, but hopefully she'd be able to handle it.
"Okay," she said, stepping into one of the fighting stances Iris had taught her. "I am ready to begin when you are."

Shang was watching and waiting for Ida to make a move and when she did his eyes jumped between her feet and her hands, so when she faked he managed to catch it, but just barely. He attempted to dodge, but the elbow managed to connect with is side before he could block, causing him to go stumbling a little ways.
He frowned, thinking about how, it seemed that he would still be a huge bruise in the morning. He didn't particularly like the idea. He recovered quickly spin to face Ida right out of his stumble and taking a stance once more. She had one hit on him and wanted to keep her from getting another, but didn't at all want to hit her. He groaned and decided to try to knock her off her feet.
He would have to hit her, hopefully just push her lightly. He ran forward, right at her to get right up in from of her, side step just once and position his leg behind her so he could push her and she would trip over the leg.Maia was walking around watching everyone pair up, grab mats and get started. She was ready to help them whenever they possible needed it. She noticed Pomona going on the offensive right away, but getting caught up in her own skirt. "Pomona," she called out heading over, "try tucking the longer piece into you sash or your top." She gave a smile and moved on.
Another of the first to get underway surprising her was her brother and Ida. Ida quickly taking the lead over Shang, and Shang for once actually taking the offense.
"Great move Ida," she called out to the girl impressed by her effort, "keep it up. That was a great start."
She watched for a second more before turning away and going to watch some of the other's.

The twenty-five year old eyed her partner and realised that he was likely around her age, something that she was starting to realise wasn't really all that common if the people in this room were anything to go by. "Hi Luxor.... I guess. I'll go grab a mat." Pompeii quickly grabbed a mat and dragged it back towards Luxor. Once it was set and ready Pompeii stood to the side of the large blue mat and shuffled uneasily for a moment before admitting, " I don't really know what to do. I'm not much of a fighter and I have no clue how to go about this. Sorry Luxor." Although she had been a knight for about a month and had encountered a few youma she had never really fought hand to hand but rather with a branch.... and the youma were weak and easy to dust. "Well as Walt Disney once said, 'The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.' So I guess we should start somewhere." She stepped onto the mat and very nearly fell flat on her butt when her heal sunk into the megar blue protection. She wobbled a bit before finding her balance and taking up a rather uncertain boxing guard position, really about the only thing she knew about fighting. Lithia_Brandon not sure if the first quote went thru

"It's ok. The name tags make it feel like a elementary school field trip - rather bothersome really." He might look young but he really didn't think himself to be young. Especially since he'd seen a child here, like younger than him!
"Yeah...sparring...have you ever?" He asked unsure how to go about this. He'd never been physical, even skipping gym as often as humanly possible. He'd never been big on sports or anything physical and yet here he needed to be. Plus I mean...hitting someone you were to work with. It felt awkward to him.
Biting his lip he stared at the other. "You won't take offence to anything involved in this spar...right?" Just to be sure. he really didn't want this to like turn them into enemies if they ever met in the future.

Her smiling nature was pretty contagious as Phact watched the girl called Pharos. It made the newbie senshi feel a bit more at ease over everything. "How long have you been a page?" She asked before motioning over to the mats as well. Their backsides would thank them later for this.
Seeing a few stacked on the side, Phact started to pull one out like they did in gym class. When she laid it flat, her attention turned back to the page. "So, do we start by bowing?"

That was... really all she had up her non-existant sleeves. She hadn't gotten much in the way of formal training, though she and Anella had planned on taking self defense classes together... From here on out, she'd just have to watch him carefully and try to dodge. Luckily, she didn't need to try and hit him very hard, just catch him off guard and get him when he wasn't guarding.
Ida squeaked when he rushed straight at her, spinning to the side like a matador with a bull. The sudden attempt to trip her caught her off guard and she stumbled as she attempted to jump the sweeping leg. When the tips of her shoes caught on him, she went to her knees, feeling the shock run up her arms and thighs as she came down hard on her hands.
One point for him, but thinking fast, she let herself collapse completely and rolled to the side away from him. Pushing up onto her knees, she sprang to her feet again and pressed a hand to her side, taking up a defensive stance should he try to rush her again. Okay so, that had hurt a little bit, but it wasn't something she couldn't handle.
