They were gathering quite the little group--half of whom didn't seem interested in being a group, Jamie thought as she scooped up the blue lantern and looked at it.

"Whether you want to be in a group or not, I doubt it really matters in the long run. People willing to kidnap us and put us in frilly outfits don't seem the type to care who our new BFFs are," she said calmly, still leaning on her massive long sword.

"My question is--what is the point of these?" she said, looking into the strange thing curiously. "That fuzzy thing said it was our fear, right? Our power. So what happens if it gets broken or lost?"

Her consciousness spit and sputtered in the dark, then, gasping, seemed to flare awake -- and with it came the awareness that she was being watched. Her eyes shot open: another pair of eyes looked back at her. She yelped, scrambling backwards, but the voice that met her ears sounded nothing but friendly.

"Ah! I'm glad you finally woke up! How are you feeling?"

The hand pressed to her chest slowly slid down to the floor. She thought about it. Surprise ebbed into a dull ache pulsing in her head, and she scrubbed her palm against her forehead, groaning, "Terrible, thanks for asking." She squinted at the creature -- it looked like some sort of animal. Like a... What were they called? She couldn't remember.

Actually, the more she thought about it, the more she struggled to remember much of anything. Her little fists clenched, knotted in her sleeves. "Where am I?" She asked. "How did I get here?"

Her voice was tremulous -- she could have screamed if it weren't for the unerring calm in the... the... staring-thing's voice. "You don't remember anything? That is rather unfortunate and oddly inconvenient. Shall I remind you of why you are here?"

"Please," She muttered.

And it did. It spoke of Fear, of weapons, Reapers, and humans: and maybe she didn't fully understand all of that, but she found herself feeling excited. As she picked up the tiny red gem lying at her feet, she looked down at herself for the first time, and a new surge of confidence filled her. It made sense that she would choose to fight, somehow; innately, she knew this was something she wanted to do. Saving the humans? Whatever they were, they needed help, and she'd gladly protect them -- being a super-strong guardian against the forces of chaos with a super-awesome-cool weapon sounded like fun! And maybe she could remember more things along the way...

She felt better having that kind of purpose in mind. But there was one problem...

"Hey, little guy! Where's my weapon?" She looked around. "It's supposed to be with me, right? I don't see it anywhere..."

Aside from the red gem, the only other item close by was a red handbag. She picked it up -- it was sturdy and strangely heavy in her hands, and it was... pretty cute, she had to admit. She flicked a finger at the little plush cat attached to the side. It swung and landed on top of a gold patch embossed onto the cover, and when she pushed it back, she read the inscription aloud. "Tee... Em?"

A memory finally came to her -- so rapidly it might have smacked her right in the head. Her name. TM stood for Tanith Mynett. Her whole face lit up. Tanith! Tanith Mynett, the Guardian of Halloween!

But the Guardian of Halloween still needed a weapon, and she didn't... see any...

"Oh, no. No way! You've got to be kidding me!"

User ImageScooping up the little blue charm, Willow flinched as the silver haired girl snapped at her. "Uh.... Sorry?" She said as she slowly joined the group. "I was wondering the same thing..." Willow said quietly looking from the item in her hands to the girl that asked the question. "What if someone else got it. What would that mean for our power?" Maybe nothing would happen... But it was still a troubling thought.

Aria held up her own Violet gem and gave it a considering look before answering Jamie. "Well, best case... it breaks and we go back to whatever we were doing before we got here. Not-so-best case, we lose the ability to fight... whatever we're supposed to be fighting. Worst case, we die or get trapped here forever." she finished with a shrug. "The question is, do you really want to find out?" She pocketed her own, having a feeling that whatever happened, she wanted her gem to stay intact.

"Let's not find out..." She intended to be very careful with something she'd specifically been told was important.

She glanced at Zelda again for someone who wasn't trying to be rude she certainly managed it often enough. Vanessa glanced down at her own weapons gauntlets with claws as vicious as leopard. Some of the other girls had equally dangerous looking instruments. Hmmm, were they supposed to fight together then?

Shouting. There was just so much shouting, and yelling, and screeching, and unnecessary swearing coming from the mouths of girls that she was sure could not be much older then she herself was, though who talked down to her like she was nothing more then a young child regardless. She supposed it was because of her size, short, willowy and pale. And the one that Mairea had introduced to her as Zelda, well, she was being rude, whether or not she was trying to be. In fact, the more she spoke, the less Macy wanted to have her for a "leader", and the more she hid behind the girl with the long bow.

"L-language.." She mumbled out meekly, though it was doubtful that Zelda would have even heard her.

Turning her attention back towards the girl who had asked about the weather, she gave a small nod. "Yes, a weapon. This is mine...a--at least, I think it is..." She looked down to the small bow still clutched oh so tightly in one hand, and raised it up slightly. "I--it feels right at least, and I..I'm fairly sure I can use it..."

When the other girl gave her name, Macy offered her a smile, and whispered back. "I'm Macy. Don't worry, just..just stay with me! We...we'll all be fine. I..I think that a walk might be a good idea, actually."

And now towards the girl who had screeched, which Macy really couldn't blame her for, and since Macy herself had shouted so loudly when she'd realized that she would not be alone in this...adventure...she really felt like she understood, and did not appreciate Zelda's non to gentle response. She waved the girl towards her, taking a few small steps in her direction. "I..I imagine it means...that we here are the only ones left who can fight!" She replied.

"You..do you want to...you can..." She stumbled over her words, and closed her eyes with a huffing and shaking sigh. "Come here. What is your name?" She asked, actually finding it easier to speak without looking.

Hestia's staff may or may not have accidentally smacked Zelda in the back of the head as she turned to smile brightly at the other girl.

"Who said anything about a toy?" she asked cheerfully. "Oh, you."

When she turned around again she may or may not have smacked Zelda with her staff again.

"Nice to meet you, Aria, my name's Hestia, or H, or any other version of that you can come up with," she answered. "Though hey you works as well, since, I mean, chances are we're not gonna remember everybody's names there are a lot of people here, you know."

A wink was sent in Vatachi's direction, Hestia's smile stretching into a grin. "Calm your jets, V, nobody's calling you out. We'll figure this out, so until then just keep your panties from getting in a twist, and we'll be good, okay?"

Another voice drew her attention, and Hestia twisted around, catching sight of a girl with strawberry blonde hair and a scythe to match. Hestia leaned on her staff and stuck out a hand, patting her shoulder. "I think it's natural for people to sort of split off unintentionally, though I do think you have a good point." She looked at her shepherd's crook almost thoughtfully. "Think this thing is of any use? I mean, it's not a scythe or a sword, that's for sure."

She slung an arm around Alvar's shoulders as though they were already the best of friends. "It's Hestia, by the way, for anyone who didn't catch it."

Elspeth reached to her side, unbuckling the book from its latch, the belt coming undone and dangling from one cover. Carefully, she opened the book. Nothing. Flipping through the vellum like pages. Blank. Absolutely nothing was written among them.

"W-what? There's nothing in there!" She whined, shaking her head as her eyes frantically scanned the blank pages for any sort of clue of what was going on. Her blond hair and red ties weaving to-and-fro with each shake. There was nothing in teh book and already her usefulness to the group was apparent. Zelda made a comment about papercuts and smacking things as well as imaginations. She frowned as she closed the the book, it's black cover staring back at her. She wasn't useless...

Swallowing, she threw her arms down in a stiff poise, getting into Zelda's face. "I am not useless a-and I do have imagination! The book may not be a weapon but, I could still be of some help!" With each sentence, she puffed her cheeks and thrusted her arms downwards. Just as she did a metal clang hit the floor. Brows raised, pink eyes turned toward the spot to see a pencil-sized object on the ground that appeared like a vellum shaft and a handle. Reaching down, Elly picked it up, immediately noting that it opened! A fan! The material appeared to made of the same thing her book pages were made of. But where did it come from?...

After what seemed like ages, Tatiana's eyes fluttered open. With a groan, she sat up and rubbed her head. She tried to recall what had happened and how she got here, but quite frankly, nothing was coming to mind. A little strange creature was before her, speaking into her mind. There was something about how humanity was in danger and she was supposed to help fight to restore balance.

Or something like that.

"Uugh... Vat 'appened?" she groaned as she looked about. There were... a lot of other girls here. No one she recognized though. A number of them were mingling about with one another, though.

"Ah. Anyone? I seemed to 'ave bumped 'ead. Cannot remember 'ow got 'ere," she asked around, hoping that one of them would be able to give some sort of answer. Surely someone had some idea.

Wait, what? She blinked, and then blinked again as everything swam into focus... including some voice speaking to her. She felt as her mind sluggishly tried to process it all, to keep up with the... cat... thing? that was speaking to her.

Feeling sick. Where am I? What's this about fighting? Fight what? Why? What's this Fear stuff? Human, Halloween... what are you talking about? Reaper? What's that? The only ones of what? Hey wait!

The creature didn't even give her a chance to speak, blurting everything out and disappearing before she could reply. There was a gold cage holding a blue glow, still floating in front of her where it had been when she first noticed it, and she reached out to take hold of it. A quick examination didn't tell her anything important, and she tucked it away inside her dress.

She pushed herself up to her feet, and frowned. The thing had mentioned something about weapons. She didn't know anything about weapons, nor did she...! As she'd started to think it through, her hands went to her hips, and there she felt something. She glanced down, finding a pair of throwing stars. Oh. Maybe she did know something about weapons, but she certainly didn't remember it.

As she tried to figure everything out, she glanced around the room, suddenly noticing the many other girls around her. All dressed in a similar fashion, several others with those little gem-like things visible.

"Hey, does anyone else know what's going on? More than that little goblin that just disappeared had to say, I mean." Had it spoken to the others? Maybe it had told one of them something more useful.

Poppies were definitely the best kind of flower because they were big, big, big flowers! And they came in all different colors! Like red and blue and purple (but the blue kinds were the best because they were so pretty) and--

"Kinda achey!" Wow! Wow her voice was so loud! Excited by the sound coming out of the thing that the girl lying flat on her back was quickly realizing was actually her, she pushed herself to sit up. For a moment she sat there, wide eyed and dazed. She had two arms and two legs and shoes on (oh thank goodness, that would have been the worst thing ever to have forgotten her shoes!). All her fingers seemed to be there, along with her all her toes even though they were in her shoes so she could only wiggle them. But they sure felt like they were all there! Now that she was sure she hadn't fallen apart in between here and... Wherever it was she had come from, the girl blinked amber eyes at the creature before her. "Hi little-- um! Whatever y'are! Whatcha doin' sittin' here with me?" Could she pet it? It looked so fluffy! Kind of like a marshmallow! Wow marshmallow kitty!

"Hey! I remember some stuff! Like that blue poppies are my favorite. OH OH OHHHHH!!!" The two hands that she still thankfully possessed rose up and clutched at her chest. "That's me! I'm Poppy!" But did she have a last name? Hmmm, much in the same way memories, what home looked like, what day her birthday was on or even what the names of the months were, it seemed that her last name too had vanished. Or at least not come along for the ride. Ah well. Poppy could live without. It wasn't necessarily vital, so she could handle that! As for reminding her, she gave the creature before her a thumbs up.
"Sure thing marshmallow kitty! I gotta know the situation before I can make a move!"

Marshmallow Kitty talked about fighting and fear after that, a little about what exactly fear was along with balance, the idea that help was needed. He kept going on about a weapon enough that Poppy got distracted and looked down next to her where a silver birdcage sat, decorated with blue poppies. Excited by seeing her favorite flower she snatched the cage up, her fingers curling easily around the large ring on the top. But the moment she touched it she frowned. Wait.. What was she supposed to do with it again?

"I have absolutely no clue what you're goin' on about, but I'll do my best Marshmallow Kitty!" Poppy was nothing if not exceptionally filter-less in her deliverance of the words in her head. So with a smile and another thumbs up she clamored to her feet. Before she made her way over to the group of girls she swung the birdcage around once, just to see what it felt like.
It felt like swinging a birdcage full of flowers. Ah well, she'd make the best of it and if she got attacked by something she could just... Whack it! Yeah!

"Hey! Are we doing introductions! I'm Poppy!!" She shouted when she heard one girl introduce herself and with another swing of the birdcage she was off toward the group, waving frantically and making quite a lot of noise as she clomped over.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Her glare for Zelda intensified as Elspeth looked at her book and seemed to become rather distraught by the blank pages within.

"Calm down Elspeth nobody said you were useless..." Then the fan appeared and Vanessa raised a brow.

Fascinating just as her weapon hasn't appeared until she'd felt in danger it seemed Elspeth had to lose her sweet temper to discover hers. It made the sensation of curiosity blaze within her like a fire being stoked. Yet she feared that there would always be more questions than answers in a case like this.

She heard more girls and felt the urge to step back away from the growing group and into the shadows to wait. Yet she stayed in place, mainly because she didn't like to think she'd abandon the group when they might all need one another soon enough. What are we fighting? The thought crossed her mind for the hundredth time, this was all so peculiar.

Vanessa cringed as she saw another girl dressed in blue loudly approaching them. Did none of them feel worried about being attacked? She for one was going to attempt some stealth until she knew if danger was imminent. She looked at Poppy and placed a finger to her lips hoping the other girl would moderate her tone.

It felt like forever. An eternity. A sleep so sound and peaceful it should never have been disturbed. And yet there she found herself, looking up at what might have been the sky, her mind was foggy as she shifted, legs finally obeying her will to move them as her eyes swept around her. Then a voice, seemingly from nowhere, until her gaze landed upon the speaker. It had asked how she was? She blinked a bit before trying to urge a pathetic smile on her face. "I... could be worse?" In all truth she felt as if the world had ended and she'd been trampled with it, but perhaps that was just the after effects of a deep rest. Still, she knew it could have been worse. Certainly.

And then a curious statement as if her worse hadn't been what they expected. A small frown pulling at the corners of her lips. "Should I recall something?" She quietly stated, waiting as the thing spoke again. Now it spoke of fighting, her will to continue on as such? Had she done such a thing? She couldn't recall, certainly there must have been a reason why. A valid, valuable reason why she would wish to fight. "Did I?" Yes, she couldn't imagine. She disliked unnecessary violence, so... so to choose to fight. Certainly she must be a cause. And the unknown figure seemed happy to explain. A bit. With a detour. Her eyes slipped to the blue gem near her as it spoke again, carefully lifting it up. Certainly it felt... at home near her. A precious thing. She held the delicate blue thing to her, eyes closing a moment as she felt almost at one with it as the being spoke again. Things began to.. make sense as it spoke. Now of a being who only took, who only wished to consume and destroy a balance. She was one of the few left, a reaper who knew weapons well. The others... She flinched at the thought of everyone she might have known being gone. She couldn't remember them, not a single face, and yet... she felt as if she should fight.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she shook her head. "I won't let them be forgotten. Nor their sacrifice be in vain." Even if she knew not for who, they had been worth fighting for before. She had to make up for their losses. "I'll..." She paused slowly. "Even if I'm alone. I will... do what I must." With that she tried to wipe away one of the tears showing in her eyes as she got up slowly, only then realizing... there were others. She didn't have to be alone in this, she could... perhaps even someone sch as she could do this with the help of others. To stop the entity that had already taken so much. Even her own memories. She paused at that, staring sadly at the crowd before her. Perhaps one had been her friend at some point, but all were strangers now. Orina sighed, tugging briefly at the edge of her shirt before shaking her head. "...may never be able to see them again. But I can still try." She wavered a moment before wiping away another set of tears that were threatening to replace the first. Really, it felt that was all she could do.

Aria turned as she heard the twin-tailed witch finally give out her introduction. "I think I'll just stick with Hestia, thanks", she replied with a quirky grin.

"If you have doubts about your weapon, why not test it out? I already did that with mine", she said as she pulled out her fan and started spinning it around, producing a gentle breeze as she did so. "It may not look like much, but the edges are sharp and I found swinging it around produces a pretty mean gust. If anything, it can flip a few skirts...", Aria paused as she noticed how wrong that last sentence sounded, her face falling into a grimace as she was surely going to be deemed a pervert. "Forget that last sentence...", she mumbled, trying to look anywhere but at the person she was talking to.
