Elora shook her head and turned to look at the girl with a smirk.
"I assure you child I am equally as bad as him, do you know what this place is ... was? It's no safe haven. I am no saviour. So, I suggest you leave and make your own way through life. I am too tired to support a human."

Cyrus listened to Elora speak to the girl, then looked down at the frightened thing. He watched the crestfallen expression wash over her dirty features and he swallowed a little. Deep inside, he felt his need to protect stir. Breathing in deeply, he turned away from the girl and walked over to stand before Elora.
"We could use an extra pair of hands. She's small and can get into places that I can't," he said quietly.

Elora looked up at him.
"Are you not listening to me? I said no. I do not want her around here. Now leave girl." She wished she could stand and make her leave. "if you want to take care of her you can go elsewhere and do it. but do me a favour first and burn me up."

Cy smirked slightly and shook his head.
"Fine," he said and turned back to the girl. Without a word, he ignored her pleas as he took her by the arm. She struggled against him, but it was as if she wasn't. Tossing her out the door, he watched her for a moment before stepping back inside to slam and lock the door against her. Taking a deep breath to ease his temper, he let it out slowly and made his way back over to their living space.
"Were you always so heartless and I just don't remember?" he smirked as he went to get himself some water.
Aisha stayed where he had thrown her for several long moments as tears rolled down her nose and into the dusty street. Slowly she began to pick herself up and she looked around. She couldn't go back to Maksym, but she didn't know where to go. Wiping her eyes, she started to walk slowly away from the direction she and Maks had come from and away from the terrifying pair.

Elora breathed in deeply and frowned a little.
"Go and get her then." She said softly. "Though I want nothing to do with her. She's your responsibility, you look after her and when she dies because she is weak and mortal, it is your problem."

Cyrus paused with the cup at his lips and looked to Elora. He could see the distress on her face and he said nothing for several moments. He hadn't meant to hit her below the belt, so to speak. He had just been surprised by her decision to kick the girl out. He had remembered her being a happy, selfless person when the mood struck her right, which seemed to be often. Though he understood why as soon as she finished laying down the law. She had watched everyone she had ever cared about be taken away in the most gruesome ways possible.
Without saying anything, he reached out to set his cup down.
"Fair enough," he replied quietly and turned to head out of their home. Stepping out into the street, he glanced one way and then the other. A sound in the distance caught his attention and he went after it. Finding the girl, he scooped her up into his large arms before she even knew he was there.
Aisha gave a scream as she was suddenly sailing up into the air. When she was settled over a massive shoulder, she felt her stomach give a painful lurch. They had decided to kill her after all.
"Let me go!" she shouted and began to struggle to no avail. The beast of a man carried her back to the home and deposited her surprisingly gently on the floor of the room the woman was sitting in.
"You are going to stay with us," Cy declared, walking over to their kitchen to start making a meal for the evening.
Aisha swallowed hard and watched the large man walk away, then looked over to the strange woman.
"I promise... I'll be good," she said quietly to her.

Elora glanced to the girl and sighed.
"We're not going to hurt you either way." She said softly. "Just make yourself useful or you'll be out on your own again. I am Elora and that is Cyrus. You answer to him. he will tell you what needs doing."

Aisha nodded to the woman as she laid down the law and introduced them both. When Cyrus returned to the room with some water for her, she reached up to take the cup from him.
"I'm Aisha. You won't even know I'm here," she promised and sipped the water.
Cyrus smirked lightly and glanced from the girl to Elora.
"I will show you where you can bathe," he announced and led her out of the room
Several moments later, he returned by himself and he walked over to Elora.
"Thank you El," he said quietly, reaching out to gently touch her cheek. He would have worried about the girl if she had not given him permission to go get her.

Elora smiled up at him and nodded.
"I owe you remember." She replied simply and relaxed back into the chair she was trapped in. "I just hope she does not bring others."

Cyrus smirked lightly and shook his head.
"I would be more worried about that man bringing others down on us. Or... I would if he had survived his most unfortunate demise," he smirked grimly as he moved to take a seat beside her. He was not always a great fool. One thing he took seriously was his role as a protector. He would not have had that beast of a man bring others down on their heads.
"She'll be able to help me forage and she can help you around here if you'll let her when I'm not around. Think of her as tool if nothing else." He paused a moment and looked in the direction he had led the girl off in. "I would rather someone be available to watch over you when I am gone for long periods. Even if she cannot fend off any trouble, she could come get me to handle it. I will not have any harm come to you," he said quietly, turning his cinnamon brown eyes to her lovely face.

Elora shifted a little awkwardly so she could look up at him. He was right of course. She was useless in her current state and he could not do everything himself.
"I wish you did not have to keep going off." She said softly. "I wish I could help more, I wish things were as they had been. Though I suppose wishing our lives away was always fruitless." She took a wheezy breath in and held his eyes with hers.
"I am a selfish person I did not want to share you with anyone else."

A smirk stole across Cy's lips at her admission and he held her eyes for a moment longer before he glanced down at his large hands.
"You intended for us to live here in solitude forever?" he smirked lightly and looked back up at her. "I am here to serve you. Nothing will change that."

"Yes, I used to dream of such things in earlier days. Being a woman kept by a kind and gentle man, though ... not a servant. You're not here to serve me. You're a companion, a friend. Or ... that was what I thought?"

Cyrus smiled, then tilted his head a little. He had not realized she saw him in that way. Had he ever been viewed that way? As far as he could remember, he had only ever been treated as a servant. Which was fine. He knew his place and role. He was comfortable there. But there was something in the way she spoke that he suddenly felt warmth inside.
"I can be a companion and still live to serve and protect you," he said quietly.

"Oh of course, yes." She grinned and reached out slowly to take one of his large hands in her's. "In wedding services they promise that don't they? To honour and serve and protect. I wish i could do things for you too, but I'm rather useless. A bit of a burden really. You probably would move on if not for me?"
