Ticket, please! Username: Laroawan Foal's Intended Name: Telyn Why this name? It's Welsh for Harp, a soothing instrument that might be played by a bard. His nickname would be Tel, which I feel is appropriate for someone who tells stories with their songs. Personality: Telyn will be a singer. He is greatly influenced by the beauty his mother and father see in the world and finds himself interested in creating his own form of art. He is inspired by the world around him and finds both joy and sorrow in life to sing stories about. In his youth he is shy about his talents and prefers to only express himself alone. As he grows he may learn the joys of performing and become a more outgoing stallion that can share his voice, perhaps becoming a bard. Anything else you would like to include: Love the family and am excited to have this opportunity. ^.^

Ticket, please! Username: Kaliskanny Foal's Intended Name: Teagun Why this name? It means: attractive, poet, philosopher. It fits the personality I'd like the foal to have and grow in to. Personality: Teagun is a gentle soul like his mother and artistic like his father, putting his thoughts about the world in to poetry. Often he can be found watching the world around him, gathering inspirtation...which usually comes from his family. Eventually he wants to travel a little to share his poetry, but will always return home to the medow he loves so much. The foal also likes to help Jasmine weave floral chains to adorn the family with. He loves to spend equal time with his parents, and siblings, learning from them and getting inspired for his next prose. Anything else you would like to include: Thank you for this contest. They are a lovely family, both in looks and personality.

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Kaliskanny Poem/Story Title: Family Sitting in the misty medow, my mother has adorned me with a crown of daisies. It's peaceful here with the love of my family. My brother and sister frolic amongst the flowers, their laughter making music. Father has taught us to express ourselves, with art or dance. I chose to use poetry to express my love for my family.

Ticket, please! Username: Candle Wick Ghost Foal's Intended Name:
Kokabiel ( M ) - Prince angel of the stars.
Why this name? Dir had a fascination with my soquili Kai at one point (He is based on constellations), and because stars are just one of the many things that appeal to artists, I thought this would be a fitting name for the family.
Personality:
Koka (Like coca-cola!) is an actor. He prides on showing off his ability to adapt to situations and really exaggerate the emotions needed in every single one. This skill has founded his passion for story telling and has completely opened up a new world to him. It isn't often you find him with a frown on his face, unless he is acting out a story and portraying a scene that needs the relative emotion to be identified, usually grinning like a cheshire cat - high on life.
Even in his own company he will 'practice' his skill set. Usually trying to make impressions of different accents and see how long he can continue talking with them for. He isn't shy, one bit, having a voice that flows like water, words just continue to pour out. It's hard to ever get him to shut up because he is probably telling you a story and refuses to be interrupted when he is 'working.'
He doesn't mind being the pretty boy either. When he is adopted for 'flower-decorations with mum time' he prides in being pampered and likes showing them off to others feeling proud of his family and their creative talents. Anything artistic he will show interest and is one of the very rare times he may stay quiet, if only for a moment, to listen before he rambles ears off with questions.

Lovely Flowers Username: Baby Pandah Photo Proof: (If you need bigger images let me know. Also, I didn't tag with my name 1. because I couldn't find a pen/pencil, 2. because the middle picture is me. Let me know if you need a tag.) , Zoom In, Small description/summary: Because there are no pretty flowers where I am right now (spring has barely started and won't show here until like late april) I decided to make my own flowers out of tissue paper and wire. I was going to use normal paper and make other kinds of flowers, but I don't have the skills for that. I know this is simple, but it did take a lot of time and effort. It's supposed to be a necklace, one I could see Calamint Lilly wearing or making. The mint flower of course represents Calamint, the dark blue flower represents Jasmine (I couldn't find a lighter blue like the blue on her ribbons) the yellow represents Samandiriel, and the light blue represents the siblings. I tried to get a good spread of all the colors. It's supposed to look like one of those cute flower necklaces that seem to be in style lately, which is why the flowers end at a certain point. I hope you guys like it. :3

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Junglerunner Poem/Story Title:
Halona sat upon the ground, winter was relenting at last and although the air was growing warmer with every passing day, for the hours she observed the expecting couple it was more pleasant to sit upon the ground as it was ultimately warmer, the leaf litter still rotting even now and producing a source of comforting heat. Halona has an old hand at this, now in her later years her talents for picking up particular quirks of the perspective parents allowed her to weave even more personality into the baskets their foals would be placed into for their first few days. It was a revered job amongst the Kawani, one or two of the other shaman within the village had other roles, but Halona simply focused on the weaving of baskets. Halona liked to get to know the couple a little before starting working on their baskets, it helped her weave more creatively, and this couple warmed Halona's heart, they would make the best sort of parents.
When the mare went into labour she was left alone, mother nature was the ruler here and Halona had no right to interfere, she alerted two others to help her carry the foals however. As soon as the foals were born, she and her apprentices, carefully approached the mare, Halona's voice was smooth and comforting, she reassured the mother her foals would be brought back safely and quickly. The baskets had been woven and finished a day or two ago now, Halona's knowledge allowed her to judge the birthing day well. Whilst the foals were in her care vital information was collected to help with recording the health of the general population of Soquili in the land, for they were an important spiritual link for the Kawani people. Her apprentices gathered the information and Halona worked swiftly to decorate the baskets. Once the paint was dry, food and a supply of water was placed inside the large baskets before carefully placing the foals within them. The baskets were not as easy to move once the foals where inside, it required two people to bare them back to their mother. All three foals where delivered back to their parents in the meadow a day after their birth, now it was up to the foals when they would greet their parents and the wider world.
Halona had one last gift for the parents and the foals. Watching the parents over the last week or so had led Halona to have some understanding of the importance of art and expression for the couple and particularly the stallion, though the mare seemed to provide him with his inspiration, it was a tender relationship. The mare seemed to have a love of flowers and even in the last days of winter she managed to grow and harvest tender spring flowers as they slowly emerged from their slumber from the thawed soil. The mare was patient and worked well with her hooves, lips and teeth, but it was no match for Halona's weaving fingers. Once the baskets where laid down in the meadow, which no doubt would be a blaze of colour later in the year with numerous blooms, Halona gathered up some of the pure white flowers from the meadow and produced three flower crowns for the mare, which she placed on top of each basket. She smiled at the couple, placing a hand upon the stallion's neck, 'Look after them.' she whispered softly and then walked back to the village.
Note: This is one of the reasons I choose to work with Baby's breath for the wreath!

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Tursi Poem/Story Title: Did you see them? The flowers have moved dancing into the air on the wind and landing on the ground again petals opening and closing with each blink....
Did you see them? It seems the whole of the plains is filled with moving colors Spring has come and spring and taken flight. The world flying into color as I chase through these fields.
Did you see me fly?

Ticket, please! Username: JadedTiger22 Foal's Intended Name: Adwin Why this name? It means artistic, intellectual and I see this family as very well centered and schooled. Personality: He is drawn to the colors in the flowers of the fields around him and wants to spread these colors as his father does. Being the 'neater' basket of the bunch, Adwin is likely to act out and let his artistic creations make a large "mess". He thinks that he's the only one to see his creative genius, but his parents are likely fans and guides in his artist pursuits. Sibling jealousy will rear it's ugly head from time to time, but his brother and sister will act as inspiration throughout his life and art. Anything else you would like to include: Thanks you so much for sharing your basket and offering us the chance to be part of the pretty family.

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Laroawan Poem/Story Title: A Song of Home
In the meadow, in the valley, Far from sea and mountain showers A young stallion did meet a mare, Bedecked in lillies and many flowers
She was a dark beauty in a sea of color, For his art he had found his muse He created great works of life and dreams, For his paint her flowers he used With a hay lilly woah, For his paint her flowers he used
Soon their fondness grew to love But something was missing they knew With water and Love A herd of art and flowers they grew
One foal was skilled in song, Another skilled in dance The last took after their dear old dad And painting was all he knew With a hay lilly woah, And painting was all he knew

Ticket, please! Username: musicaloner7 Foal's Intended Name: Saffron Why this name? I really like it, and it fits to mama's name theme. Personality: He'll be a rather reserved, and gentle colt. Like his father, he'll have quite the artistic side to him, but more so in the art of flower decor. Seeing his mother always with them, he likes to decorate things as well with lovely flowers of all sorts of colours and shapes. Having a soft-spoken voice, he can often times be overpowered by more outgoing personality's, but he doesn't mind being in the background. Anything else you would like to include: super adorbs parents, thanks for the opportunity~

Ticket, please! Username: CheshireKttty Foal's Intended Name: Piper (Unisex) Why this name? (derived from Middle English pipere, meaning "pipe-player.") I chose this name because I'd like for the basket to be into music and it's a nice unisex name that fits with the personality. Personality: One word: Creative I'd like for the foal to take after the father in the artistic department. It will be musicly inclined and always curious about everything. (Of course it will have an appreciation for flowers as well wink )
Piper is a curious and creative foal. They are always willing to try new things and intent on learning everything that they can about the arts. While they may have their head in the clouds a good portion of the time, they are very caring and loyal, especially when it comes to family. From time to time they may wander off to learn new things, but they will always find their way home.
While they are honest and can be relied upon as a good friend, they may not always arrive on time nor may they be all 'there' all of the time. A good part of the time they spend with others they may have their thoughts else-where. (Think Luna love-good) Anything else you would like to include: The baskets are absolutely lovely and I wish everyone the best of luck in trying! If it wasn't such a pretty basket I'd have sat out and let other people have a chance, but have to at least try right? wink Thank you for the contest and have fun judging!
