"Perfect. You're in. Welcome to the tribe." Without actually answering her question, he spun on a heel and headed back whence he came.

" Activity at the shop ebbs and flows," Rise said cheerily, " it's just stock-taking today so a lot of our staff are back in. Though there are a few customers still, and that delights me. And of course, you're not intruding." He nodded. " I'm delighted by that too! Such a sweet doe you are. The boy might be busy, Killing Moon, but come with me and we'll have a look. If you have your eye on anything, just ask!" With that, the buck beamed and encouragingly started a step, hoping she would follow.

" At least there's more variety than there used to be, with the fire salamanders now," she related conversationally, wandering ahead. " The cooked stuff are fun! Some say a bit blander than the preserved stuff, but it's all lovely when you're in the right mood." With a critical eye, Fade picked up a seared pigeon and offered it helpfully. " Pigheon is shafe ehnough," she said through her teeth.

" Hang on, aren't we supposed to -" he began, but knew too well it was futile as the steps faded away. A brief sigh and he turned back with a wry grin. " Well - I guess you are!" He'd inform the boss later - at least he was easy-going, and if it was good enough for Shaken, it would certainly be good enough for Rise.

She stared at him for a moment, hardly believing that she'd heard all that. She thought that she would have had to really push for it, but apparently all she had to do was not know whoever those two kin were that were mentioned. "I am?" she asked, shocked, then she grinned and did a kicky dance. "Yay! I'm in! Woooooooo!" A ticket for the MAIN COURSE! Preference List: PBJ

( If you'd like to RP with these guys, just grab the code and throw that quote at me! ) "Fluffy, stop pecking at Eclipse. Icebow, stop snapping at Fluffy. For Swamp's sake, can't we all just get along," Only the Ashes Remain said mechanically to his squabbling pets as he sorted through smoked specimens at the farthest ends of the Rise & Shine storage spaces with the gloomiest scowl. He was not happy. It was stock-taking day. The store was closed. Why were there so many visitors?! Suffice to say, he didn't do well with crowds. The last time there were so many Kin at Rise & Co....well, let's just say it hadn't gone well. He was going to stay as far away as he could from the customers this time, thank you.
I'M GRABBING LEFT
Forlorn was sorting through sample scraps with characteristic efficiency: dispose, retain, recommend for immediate consumption (there were plenty of Kin about to foist leftovers on anyhow). Every now and then another tribe member would dart by, whisper in her ear, and leave. The sorting never stopped.
When Rise wandered by for a moment, inquiring about the salamander stores, she replied, "Twenty pickled, twelve salted, eight smoked. Take these duck samples and find some victims."
The sorting, of course, was a rote act to occupy her hooves. Her primary function was to record the shop's statistics in her head. It was so much more efficient than stacking stones.
I'M GRABBING FORLORN
Push felt really stupid, walking around, poking in the bushes while the rest of the tribe laboured so. But Pull was so cut up about the missing hens, she felt an annoying sense of duty to help her frantic brother in his search. Not to mention...those chickens were valuable tribe resources. Best to find them before Rise found out.
"Excuse me," she paused every once in a while to accost a bystander apologetically, "might you happen to have seen some chickens running around?"
I'M GRABBING PUSH
"There wasn't much variety?" Looking around at everything that wasn't smoking or steaming, it still looked like a variety. It must be what she dealt with in the desert, and this had so much more to offer. "Oh, thank you!" The pigeon was hot, but flavor rolled down her tongue. After a couple of bites, more than she should have taken, Above set it on a nearby rock. "That was wonderful. Though it might of been missing something." She mused over it while looking at the next item to try. It looked like a soup. A ticket for the MAIN COURSE! Preference List: [ taco, pbj ] A ticket for the MANTIS PARTY! "HELLO!" An overly-excited voice. A beaming face. "You work here, right? I heard that you guys were stocktaking. Is that your chicken? What's its name? You have lots of pets. My mother wants me to get one because she's worri-- A-ACHOO!" Her stream of talk interrupted by the sneeze, she stopped to smile at the buck through watering eyes. "Excuse me."

I Do What I Want, or "Whatever" as some kin had taken to calling him, had been scoping out the Rise and Shine scene for awhile now. Always ordering the most obscure things he could just for an excuse to go. Of course it was under the guise of making sure his order was absolutely perfect and could not be misunderstood ... But, in reality, he was always praying and wishing that he'd catch a glimps of the buck of his dreams.
Sky Fell In. He breathed the name out with fanatic abandon, not caring who heard him.
Today was the day he was going to join the tribe, prove his worth, and win the love of the most handsome being in all creation. This day was the first day of his destiny. He could feel it.((I'm here to see a guy about a girl buck. Either one of you can answer Whatever, I don't mind.))

FOWL PLAYER! Username: Amizade Kin Name: Crossfade Chicken Name: Fowl Play (Oh no, I did this and then I realised that Fowl Play is the title of your contest. QQ I can change this if needed, I just thought the name was appropiate.) Entry: "Perfect." Crossfade stood back and admired his handiwork. Three piles of salted fish, all counted, sorted and perfectly stacked. On the left, was the bluegill, next was the walleye, and on the right, the ever popular perch. He himself quite enjoyed-- wait, did the walleye just wobble? No, it couldn't have. The air was perfectly still and it's not like it was a precarious pile. He had meticulously placed each fish just so. Crossfade smiled once more at his work before turning away, deciding that he would sort through the crawfish next. Whoosh... a strange flapping noise caused the buck to spin back around. "What on earth was tha-- AHH!" "BWAAAAAAK!" A distressed looking chicken fluttered frantically between the bluegill and the walleye, causing the piles to sway dangerously. "Bwak bwak bwak bwak," it said. "Nooo, no no no. Good chicken. Come on chicken, come here. Come here. P-please..." But it was too late. Crossfade's face -- which was screwed into one of desperate plea -- changed to one of complete horror as the first two piles of his hard work came crashing to the floor. Well, at least the perch was alright. "Bwak." The buck clamped his eyes shut as the perch joined the walleye and bluegill on the floor. "PUUUUUULL!!!!" Preference List: 4, 3, 2, 1

Maize Maze hadn't expected to find a totoma in a bush when he'd decided to come by Rise and Shine's territory in search of something interesting to do. He was expecting even less to be in search of chickens. "Chickens, miss? I'm afraid I haven't... seen any chickens," he said, pawing at the greenery around him, wondering how a chicken might be hiding in them. "Haven't heard any, either. Are... are there usually chickens around here?"A ticket for the MAIN COURSE! Preference List: [PBJ, Taco] A ticket for the MANTIS PARTY! Preference List: [Concept, 1, 3, 4, 5, 2]

I'm a Springtime Ray of Sunshine! Username: Scaramouche Fandango Kin: Journal Link: XApplying for: Delivery/hunter-gatherer Relevant skills: Maize Maze is an excellent navigator with an innate sense of direction and doesn’t mind long stretches of time on hoof, moving from one bit of the swamp to another. He’s not too keen on the actual act of hunting, but would make an excellent trail guide or game scout for longer-range hunts. Maize Maze is a skilled navigator and a good friend who'll help you out of this sinkhole and get the delivery there on time. MANTIS PARTY ON WINGS! Username: Scaramouche Fandango Kin Name: Maize Maze Link to Application: I'm joining R&S IN THIS VERY POST! Mantis Name: Chitterchatter Entry: Corn’s applying as a delivery boy because he likes seeing the swamp and meeting new kin. He’s great at directions and finding his way in the swamp, but if he’s alone, he’d like somebody to talk to. Having a mantis would make the long trips more interesting. DEFROGGER! 1,2 I'm joining R&S IN THIS VERY POST!

She nodded, quiet and accepting as Rise spoke, unsure of how to respond to his compliments, and though she hesitated when he first bid her follow, she did eventually lift her hooves to walk after the buck. It was not the same as that moment when she had realised that her only response to Killing Moon bidding her to run with him was to run, but there would be other days for that. She didn't speak, not sure of her words and not quite sure of Rise at all. She was, however, comfortable enough that Walking on Fire took the chance to course ahead of Rise and Ember as they walked until he was back at the main crowd. He stopped, watching, quiet, almost turning back, until he saw a familiar feathered face in the crowd. Brother.. And so he made his way over to the other eaglehound with a stillness and grace that Ember would say came from his mother.Maxx D Separating the two of them. xD Jun D Let's throw another terrible, terrible curveball at Left. Not only does he have to contend with the chipper Fly, he now has Killing Moon's doefriend's eaglehound (a gift from Left's dearest brother) imposing on his company as well. Amizade I hope you don't mind Ember's eaglehound butting in! He'll probably just add to Left's discomfort, but can't really interact or interfere. c: A ticket for the MAIN COURSE! " Most of it was dried and salted," Fade said, feeling all intelligent as she detailed Rise & Co history before poking her head into the hollow, liquid-filled rock. Fire In The Hole blearily peered out from below, and returned to its fiery station. " Pigeon is great for experiments," a quick splash and she pulled out a wee drumlet, soft flesh falling off bone. " See how different the texture is!" In all honesty, Fade had little idea of how any of this was done - but she definitely knew the differences while eating 'em.
