Cavin twitched in his sleep as her voice lit the little clearing again. His ear batted at the air as she continued. After a little bit, listening to the song in his half sleep. Somewhere in the midst of it, she tugged his head from under his wing and gave a stretching yawn.
His wings stood and arched behind him, reaching for the sky like they were paws of their own. They folded again, one at Cavin's side, the other laying accross his next-clover-neighbor. He only dropped it through the tendrils' shocks twice, too. He didn't bother with a sense of pride, more interested in lounging with her, now.

Liron smiled over at him, as he slowly awoke from his own slumber. She was a little embarrassed at getting caught singing such a song, but it was too late to do anything about it, so she went ahead and finished the song before turning her complete attention to Cavin. He seemed more tired than her. Did he need more sleep? She lightly rested her head against his side, absently humming again. If he woke up and was looking tired still, she'd see if she couldn't sing him back to sleep. If not... maybe they could hunt and then sing together some more.
Maybe if she was lucky, they could keep doing it until Cavin made a decision about her.

Cavin hummed down at her, then preened her feathers some and joined in with the tune when he could pick it out enough to warrant trying. "Did you sleep okay?" He hummed, looking up at her when he was satisfied with her feathers.

Liron shivered happily at the preening; the feeling of his beak running through her feathered mane was surprisingly pleasant. Her yellow eyes were alight as she looked up at him. "Mm-hmm. I slept wonderfully. And you?" This was a little different, but she didn't mind. Neither she nor Cavin was quite the same Azrien they'd been the day before.

Cavin smiled, nodding down at her. "I slept pretty good, thanks." He glanced at the sky through the trees' canopy, trying to judge time. He was certain he wouldn't have slept so late in the shade with any other Azrein he'd met, but... Liron was different. He liked spending time with her, and enjoyed her company. "A new day... What should we do?"

Liron thought about it. "Mmm... the first thing we should do is probably get something to eat," she suggested. It wouldn't be wise to start something else and then get tired from lack of nourishment.

Cavin nodded and tilted his head to the side, listening to the forest. "It sounds like there are some rodents off that way. Any ideas?" He could never tell what he was hunting until it made an appearance. He usually resorted to worm salad, anyways, since half the time when he could catch his pray, it ended up shattered and inedible.
He found his eyes wandering over Liron's head and forelegs. ~It's... Strange, how much we compliment each other... Each of us recieving the gifts the other's parents shorted them in the gene-passing...~

Liron thought for a moment, ears capturing the sounds and attempting to identify them. "They sound a little too big to be mice, but they don't sound like rabbits... squirrels? Or maybe chipmunks..." As her gaze returned to Cavin, she found his inspecting her frame. As embarrassing as that was, she managed to keep the blush off of her face. She smiled up at him when his eyes met hers. "Shall we?"

Cavin hummed. "Oh... I dunno. Those beasts like to house in the trees... catching them's always been a challenge..." He hummed and shrugged, looking at Liron again. "If you think we can pin 'em down, I suppose it's worth a shot."

"If we startle them while they're on the ground, I'm sure we can catch them," Liron replied. "And if not, we can find something else." Hunting and singing with Cavin... she could get used to this.

He hummed and nodded. "I hadn't thought of that... It might work..." He hummed, considering the forest and his companion's skills... And genepool gifts. As he pondered that bit, he wondered if he'd still choose the claws over the wings. It would make catching things easier, but... He wouldn't fit as well with Liron and her odd little backbarnacle. As he glanced sideways at her, his maw tilting only slightly as it pointed towards the forest, he decided he liked the thought... And that he wouldn't voice it until he was sure things wouldn't turn out the way he suspected.

Liron smiled up at her companion, reluctantly getting to her feet--though it took two tries since her legs had decided they liked their resting state. Luckily her claws saved her from an embarrassing trip. Maybe they weren't so bad after all. She still sort of wanted the wings, though. Glancing at Cavin, she rethought that. Wings would make it so much harder to comfortably rest beside him. Maybe it was for the best. "Lead the way," she said cheerfully. After all, he was the fast one; she needed to have something lured to her before she could catch it.

He chuckled and shrugged, leaving her better hearing out of the equation for now. He listened again for the sound of their little feet scampering accross the forest floor, before nodding in the direction they haunted. "We'll have to try to surround them. There's not really enough room to take off, but my beak should do plenty of scaring." He grinned.

Liron smiled and nodded. "Alright." Liron lightly butted her head against him before moving in a different direction so they could trap their prey. She was sure it would be fine. Squirrels weren't quite as fast as rabbits.

Cavin hummed and grinned up at Liron, scooting off to do his part in the great midmorning hunt. He worked towards the sound until he could see little patches of brown fur between the bushes, waiting to give Liron time to get positioned before he'd make his move.
He shoved his beak out of the bush and pecked at the ground next to the nearest of the fuzzy little beast, missing by centimeters as she beast flinched and spooked, it's brothers starting as well, and bolting from the little clearing amidst the bushes.
