"Not at all, love." He slid the coat off and draped it around her, drawing out the action just a bit because, silly as it was, he had been keeping a slight distance physically from her. He found it embarrassing to be so physically needy in public and hoped to make up for it in private, though doing so only made him itch for cuddle time more. Though speaking of private...

Sfjlsdkjlskjf that look, Bells. He was glad D'Ossa couldn't see the way his face burned as he slid into the limo after her, clearing his throat, still smiling though with a tinge of fffffff because well things and stuff okay. "Best place for ice cream, sir," he told the driver as he brushed off a few stray drops of rain from his hair with a shudder. Cold, great. Wet, gross. Heated seats would just make him feel grosser, but Bells was probably chilly so he would stand it for the moment.

D'Ossa tweaked his mustache with a hollow cackle of his jaws and began to swing them away from the parking lot and into traffic. "I know a place. Drive through, yes? Something quick? I am knowing that two young ones must be dying to escape to the secretive place~"

"Er, sure." Mort didn't want to make it that obvious.

"Justa tell me what it is flavoring you have a mood for and I will handle it~"

D'Ossa hit the switch and the seats began to slowly warm up underneath them; Mort eased off the actual seat to sit somewhere closer to the middle and closer to the witch consequentially; he ducked his head a bit in case he was in the way of the rearview mirror and leaned in towards Belladonna. "Naughty," he tsked under his breath with a better, less self-conscious smile before adding to the skeleton, "M'good, P-Pretty full after all that." But he gave no indicator that he was against the innuendo. If anything, the look that had crossed his face a moment ago was more one who looked surprised at being revealed before the surprise could happen; the zomboil had never been great at hiding emotions like that.

It is with a happy hum that the coat falls over her shoulders, her fingers pulling the sides down around to cover her more. A bit surprised that he lingers on the action, the witch is quick to turn her face up to him, smiling warmly despite the chill in the air as he transfers his coat. Its a sweet gesture, made all the better by the fact it isn't an action he rushes, for though she enjoys her time with him, she cannot help but want to touch him. Its been three days and while held hands in the school hallways and occasional stolen kisses are nice, it isn't enough. Especially not compared to what she had been experiencing on a nearly daily basis.
But Belladonna smiles as she sits down on a seat, happy to see him blushing so hard. Feeling all too proud of herself, she grins in her success of having gotten him to blush so furiously, but dims it when he does mention eye scream. Oh? They really were going to get dessert? Well, that wasn't so bad...
What was really swell though were these heated seats! Wow! The witch made a noise of appreciation, but broke it off when she looked over to the zombie.
"Would you like your jacket back? To keep you from getting too warm?" A motion to the seats indicated what she meant by too warm.

The witch could not help the other odd noise that escaped her at D'Ossa's words, for ah! They were being so obvious about it? Oh, oh dear...
"Ah! Um! Anything with candy corn or caramel for me is fine..." Belladonna chirped, shifting closer to Mort. A happy hand slipped to his arm in attempt to link them, but she turned her face up at him once more at his word. She colored and looked as innocent as possible.
"It isn't my fault you took it as such..." She whispered back, her opposite hand falling to rest on his leg in a somewhat suggestive manner. And by suggestive, mostly it just wasn't as far down as usual by resting on his knee.
The face he gave though, hmmmm. That was an interesting look! Surprise but... But something else. The witch flushed a bit, but looked up at him curiously, excited but quite ready to know what he meant with that face.

He gave her an amused look at such a cheeky response. "Not my fault is usually caught in 'nuendo thanks t'you," he whispered in return as D'Ossa drove them about. Mort shook his head at the offer to get his jacket back, adding that wearing it would make him warm up faster as an extra layer. Besides, she was the one in need of layers! Not that he didn't appreciate the pain of fashion she had taken on . . . His smile grew at the hand on his knee, and with their arms now linked it was easier to pull her closer and plant a kiss on her cheek.

Mort didn't say much at all as the skeleton filled the silence for him, content to just keep Belladonna close after what felt like too long without prolonged contact, punctuating it with a hum here and there as he lolled against the seats; warm or not, they were soft~ D'Ossa happily chattered on about whatever topic he was led to, from family (three children, two grims and a little skeleton ghoul) to his favorite songs (which he sang rather than explained, some words unable to be translated despite how well the spell had been; it was a sign the auto-translation was fading at any rate), to anything and everything that wasn't too personal. He asked questions of the witch in return, happily clattering his teeth in mirth.

When he drove up to a well-lit ice cream parlor, D'Ossa slid out and opened the door for Mort with an umbrella, upon which the zomboil excused himself to go get Bells her ice cream. Taking the umbrella, he shuffled on into the place while fumbling for his wallet.

D'Ossa returned and turned around, leaning casually in the space where the divider would rise if they chose to use it. "You are nice pairing," he stated with a sagacious nod. "All young ones are~ Passion, smiles, the energy of four eyes upon each other--ah!" He clutched at his ribcage. "A romance novel in every chest. He must be good to you, mia signora, he absolutely must! It is a crime to have love wasted otherwise!" He leaned in conspiratorially. "You would tell D'Ossa if he was less than a good man, would you not?"

"And it is not my fault that you always give me such wonderful opportunities to make such alluring innuendos." The witch replied with a blithe, if quickly hurrying toward mischevious, smile. But she was vastly happy with his first reply and made no other mention of it, leaning back into the seat as well as him to enjoy the ride. It was much nicer now when there was no wild speeding or hurrying for them to arrive on time, for the sound of the rain muffled everything in the car, closed them in and save for the happy chattering of Mr. D'Ossa, the witch felt it was just her and Mort. As that was something she had missed in the past three days, it was all the more sweet because he was happy. It had felt ages since she'd last seen him actually be such, so that now it was a bit like stretching a muscle that had partially atrophed. It ached to know something as grand as a very special date was needed to put that smile on his face, to lighten his mood and have him this affectionate, but Belladonna was not one to linger on the melancholy if she could help it. The fact he was happy at all was enough.
So she continued to smile as she moved to be closer to him, her head tilting closer toward his shoulder as she listened to the skeleton.

Naturally she had to reply, one hand fluttering occasionally as she asked a question or replied to one. As it had been before, so it was again a joy to speak with Mr. D'ossa, as the witch found him an absolute doll. He was charm and sweetness all wrapped up like a skeleton and she adored him immensely. When he spoke of his children she asked after them, if the grims had taken after him at all, or if his little skeletal ghoul carried his accent. Naturally inquisitive, she thought of more questions, did they have any hobbies? How old were they? What school would they attend when they were older? Did they like mini pets? Studying? Playing outside? She wanted to know everything! When he sang, even though she didn't understand most of the words (a sorry thing too! Her spell had lasted just long enough and thankfully it had worked as well as it did!), she clapped nonetheless and said he was a glorious singer. Everything was chatter and smiles as she entertained, and was in turn entertained by, Mr. D'ossa.
But all the while she was careful to dote on the zombie at her side, the hand on his knee never leaving but instead letting her fingertips press down against the bone every so often. When D'Ossa was busy talking or turning the vehicle or doing anything where he could not look back at them, the witch ducked her head to kiss Mort's shoulder or even his cheek if she was feeling bold. And each time she was done fluttering she would give his arm a small squeeze, any bit of affection to let him know she was deliriously happy.
When they arrived at the ice cream parlor the witch was surprised that Mort was going without her, but she only smiled and murmured some words of thanks as she watched him go. Not expecting D'Ossa to continue conversation, the witch slid to the edge of her seat, perched as it were to blink large pink eyes at the skeleton.

His words were all kindness, but his insistence at the end surprised her in a manner she was not sure how to feel about. Had anyone else ever expressed, to her directly, their concern for her happiness? Certainly her friends had (they had, hadn't they?), but the fact that it came from a relative stranger touched her all the more. Belladonna smiled a bit conspiratorially as she moved over to a seat closer to the skeleton before she turned her mouth to a kinder thing to look up at him.
"Mort is the most wonderful man I have ever had the opportunity to meet." The witch began as sincerely as she could muster, one hand rising to lay over her heart that did a somersault at professing her love. "He is unerringly kind and gentle and brave and giving, far better than someone as selfish as me deserves. But I am glad he is mine. And I hope that satisfies your curiosity."

"Not at all!" D'Ossa replied with a mischievous wiggle of his mustache. "I will be forever curious, signora, for love is the same and yet different for everyone! And if you are the zombie's interest, as a friend of the father I must insist upon being nosy! Especially when there is the touchy-touchy I see going on back there~" While as a skeleton his mouth could not stretch wider, the clattering of his teeth with laughter was more than enough to substitute the genuine grin he would have worn.

D'Ossa then gestured for the witch to come closer, for he felt it appropriate to try and impart some Italian words to use for the future: "a beautiful language for a beautiful woman", as he put it. The skeleton walked her through the basic phrases, a few terms of endearment, words for brother and sister and the like, and a few more of whatever she requested if she wished. The rain continued to pound against the limo as the storm really began to come into its own, masking the sound of Mort's footsteps as he returned and hurriedly got into the vehicle, dripping even from the few seconds without an umbrella. "Welcome back, signor," D'Ossa greeted, stifling a snicker as the zomboil tried to smooth his hair back.

"Y-Yeah, hi. Sorry 'bout rain on seats . . ."

"Bah!" The skeleton waved it off and shifted the limo back in gear, pulling out of the parking lot and into traffic like the car was liquid smooth.

Mort let the umbrella lean against the door as he settled into the warmed seats with a sigh, preventing himself from leaning against Belladonna and getting her cold and wet by proxy. He offered her the prize of the dessert run with a hopeful smile: a medium-sized bowl of red velvet cake and vanilla ice cream he had shielded from getting wet by hiding it in the inside of his coat. "Meant t'get caramel but, ah, is red n' sweet so couldn't help it . . . But if don't like, can find something else later," he told her. His glasses were misted over from the rain, so he slid them off and debated trying to clean them against his shirt. Or would that scratch the lens? Mrrr. He slid along the seats as D'Ossa swerved and sped up, yelping as he fumbled for his seatbelt.

Under normal circumstances, the witch would not have felt so bashful over being caught getting touchy-touchy with her boilfriend. Some deal of embarrassment might be expressed, mostly because she was not much into very intense displays of affection. A peck on the cheek here, an arm wrapped around the other, those were fine. But Mr. D'Ossa was not only an adult, but one she had come to respect in the small amount of time she had been with him. And he saw her touching Mort above his knee. In a flash Belladonna's face had turned bright scarlet and she had dropped her gaze.
"I-I apologize for that, I... I had not realized you were looking! I do not hope you think me unscrupulous, for I can assure you that is not the case. Mort is a gentleman through and through and is extremely respectful and I am vastly grateful for how kind he is and--" Realizing she was rambling at an oddly quick speed she snapped her mouth closed and possibly flushed all the more. Really, she wanted Mr. D'ossa to like her! Not think she was some floozy! When one took into account her manner of dress coupled with her touchiness, the image was easily portrayed and Belladonna was not that kind of ghoul!
But whatever worry she had had seemed to vanish when the skeleton ushered her closer. Excitedly she leaned in, wide eyed and happily repeating the words he taught her. She did not remember many, for she forgot what brother was right away, as well as greetings. But she remembered one phrase of love, and carefully phrased another, burning the foreign words into her memory.

The return of the zombie made her squeak with surprised joy as she scrambled back to sit next to him. It was unfortunate that he was wet from the rain for she would dearly love to give him some more affection (even after being caught!), but she carefully kept her distance. At least, insomuch that she did press any part of her to him. She did raise one hand to brush some water from his hair in hopes of smoothing it down.
"Goodness, I do hope we are able to get back safely... This storm sounds downright uproarious." As they pulled from the lot she leaned over to look out the window, pink eyes searching the rain for nothing in particular. When she sat back she was presented with dessert and perhaps a compliment.
"I love red velvet, it has been ages since I've had any. This will be a real treat, thank you." Belladonna told him in a low, almost secretive voice. With a warm smile she gave him a soft kiss to his cheek, her hands to herself.
At least until he began to slid, then she reached for him with a laugh, hoping to save both him and the dessert. Thankfully, it was a fairly short ride back to the school so by the time they had arrived, the witch had mentally prepared herself to run inside and hope to avoid most of the rain... As long as it didn't ruin her dress...
