You had the power to end this, Avery. The power was in your paws. You could give the little girl a balloon, and all this would end.
And then an interloper. Or perhaps... she could be used to get what Popo was after.
The little ghoul sniffled, ebbing her sobs and pointing at an unpopped balloon.
Want.
The mean minipet won't let her have one.
Help.

"I can see that." Makoto replied dryly, staring at the raiju with something akin to exasperated fondness mixed with a desperate need to yank ears. "Why should I have to knock on your door? Why can't you come to mine? Perhaps you can practice your ability to prepare tea. And then perhaps in return for your kind servitude I might buy you new clothes since you always seem in need of new ones, considering - " He sniffed, pulling at one of Shoji's tails. "Considering yours are always singed."
He was about to respond again when Shoji landed on top of him, not entirely going along with his plan. Grunting, Makoto battered Efflo with his tail in an attempt to move his cousin for the sake of air. And then he realized that Efflo actually existed and let out a smooth laugh.
"You did invite me down here, you know." Makoto reminded the green and black thing beneath him, tugging at an ear in mild curiosity and leaning his chin onto the strange, undead flesh. A tiny voice from underneath the pony-boy made Makoto arch a brow.
"It should hurt, we are crushing your lungs by now I imagine." He responded cheerfully. "However do you manage to end yourself in such awkward positions, Xavier, every time we meet?"
And Maddy, Makoto had not forgot about you.
The demon lifted his head, staring at the cat with an amused expression. "Oh? Then what fascinating talents do you have lying beneath that pile of fur and cloth, I wonder?" His mouth turned into a sly, nearly mockingly licentious grin, and he somehow managed to look imposing, even from beneath his cousin and ontop of a glowing horse and a Raum with no sense of direction and all the grace of a drowning water buffalo.
Grunting again at his situation, Makoto elbowed Shoji in the gut. "Dearest cousin, I believe I need to breathe again sometime soon. And you still haven't told me what has become of my room, and what you're going to be giving me in return for it."
Sophie was excited. Her first Scarentine's Festival! Heart-clips in her hair and a neckerchief decorated with hearts, she pranced over to the first booth - which seemed to be the most popular - and took a peek at the game and the prizes. She almost squeed; they were so cute!
Picking up her darts, she threw them and was happy to find she'd only hit one heartless balloon. Not too bad considering her aim was usually terrible. Maybe that was only the case when, y'know, it was life and death.
Darts sounded like great fun. And based on the number of other students lined up to play, how bad could this booth really be? Millie didn't have any anger towards anyone to speak of, so she picked up her darts and threw them as best she could.
Missing the first one, Millie tried again and hit the next three in succession. Gaining confidence from her lucky shots, Millie missed the next few balloons because she forgot to aim carefully and managed to only hit the last one.
"Awww..." Millie complained, upset that she didn't hit all the balloons. Maybe she should go back and read the directions to see if she won a prize...
OOC
Millie, your dumb luck astounds me sometimes.... Why can I never roll like this in other Gaia threads?
Arriving to the Scarentine Grounds was, well, to say the least rather daunting. The little witch had heard of the holiday, even exchanged gifts with her family on several occasions (and even been tricked with hexed candy). But the bright and rather pink affair that she arrived to was not what she had been expecting. Information had provided a reason at least, they were following after what the Humans did. And Maple was unsure that she liked it.
Well, the atmosphere was at least ... interesting.
After wandering around a few of the booths, the ghoul found herself at one that required the popping of balloons. Around her a few of her fellow students made quick work, popping several and winning prizes - were they being handed out.. by mini pets? Huh. Might as well try. And probably get the failing over with, she figured, picking up the darts that were provided.
Her high hopes of winning a prize was dashed so easily, she had managed to hit two of the pink ones only to lose those points after hitting two of the black ones soon after. She should have known. Really, even if she managed to hit something it was only going to turn out badly.
No points for her. Maple frowned, turning to go when she nearly ran into someone. "Oh, I'm s-sorry!" She stuttered out, not even seeing who it was.
She decided to have another go. Picking up the darts, Sophie let them fly with perhaps a little too much confidence from her previous 'victory'. She'd managed to hit balloons - only she hit the same amount of heartless that she did hearts and so she received zero points.
How typical.

Aah, and so the small ghoul's desire was made clear. "Oh, I see. Um...let me see what I can do, okay?" She smiled and gave the ghoul a reassuring pat on the shoulder before straightening back up.
Xiu frowned as she eyed the balloons thoughtfully, and she turned to eye one of the minipets that were manning the booth. One look at him and her first instinct was the balk, but she forced herself to square her shoulders and let a polite smile take over her features. Surely he would be, er, reasonable, right? It was just a balloon.
"Pardon me, would it be possible to purchase one of those balloons, maybe?" She kept her tone friendly and even, but lowered it slightly as she cast a quick look behind her at Popo.
"It'll stop her from crying," She added, as it was clear he hadn't been all that pleased by the sobbing, "Surely you could give up one...right?"
"OW," he yelped as the dogpile began to wriggle. "CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS LATER. AND FOR THE RECORD, MY TEA IS DELICIOUS." A stray dart was poking into his back and he squirmed in an attempt to distance himself from the sharp object. The boil grunted as he rolled the opposite direction, which involved squishing everyone underneath him. He still had one turn left at the booth, damn it. Priorities, Shoji.
"WHY ARE WE ON THE FLOOR," he grunted accusingly, jabbing Makoto in the back in retaliation. "IT'S OK, I TOOK CARE OF IT. NOTHING A LITTLE DUCT TAPE CAN'T FIX." The last bit was muttered in afterthought, but to the untrained ear it sounded no different.
Dragging himself forward, he managed to scavenge a few darts from the ground as the others got a face full of fluffy tail. At the green-haired boil's lament, the raiju rumbled in agreement and finally extracted himself from the pile to crawl slowly towards the booth table.
She threw the dice again, this time perhaps concentrating a little too much. She managed to hit two balloons; they were heart balloons but she eyed the darts stuck in the wall sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Oh, so hitting the black balloons is bad?" Millie asked the nearby grumpy behemoth otokoyo. Huh. I guess I didn't do too badly last time then. "Can I play more?"
Without waiting for the reply, Millie grabbed a handful of darts and threw each at the balloons. Her aim was certainly improving, but she did manage to hit a few of the black ones this time...
BOOM BOOM BOOM After leaving the rather pillowy booth, Tseng chanced upon one that had a very different sort of feel than everything else that he's seen so far. Good! Maybe this one won't add on to his .. growing collection of appendages. After all, he was currently stuck with a pair of pink buttwings and moth-like feelers upon his head. It was rather embarrassing.
There were two minipets here that were looking a little... grumpy.
That aside, he noticed there was a game that involved aiming and throwing things! Excellent. He should be able to do swell here. Taking up some darts, he got ready.
Mjoll caught the movement of someone almost running into her. Which caused her to miss quite a few balloons, but it mattered not. For the ones she hit, she canceled out the wins. A small pout formed for a moment before she looked to the cutie standing beside her.
"My what a darling red hood you have." She cooed, over the filly. "And lovely horns too." She noticed them, "Don't be sorry darling, I'm sure this game is..." She paused and tried to think of the right word. "well, it seems to take an unfortunate amount of luck."
She waved her hand at it dismissively, "Though the darling~ little prizes there are much worth the fuss, pity I only have one try left now." She paused, "What about you deary? How's your luck been holding out?"
Now if only she had someone that she could conspire against, to see if she could get them to win her one of those darling prizes. Surely she wouldn't be that lucky though, pity she'd just have to keep trying.

Avery uncovered his ears. Looked at Xiu. Then looked at Pop. Then looked at Xiu again.
Picking up more darts, this game was considerably more fun than trying to hit small plushies with a tiny mallet. After throwing another set of darts and doing worse than the other times, it was clear it was time to stop and find something else to do.
"Can I have a minipet?" she asked the grumpy avian.
I AM CLAIMING POINTS <3 I would like the Behemoth Otokoyo heartless, Behemoth Poms Otokoyo and the heartless tart pom. The final 3 points I would like placed in the raffle smile
