Darrin smiled seeing Lexi only had half of the spell book to learn, at least their work was cut in half now. When she asked him if he wanted to see something cool though nodded with a laugh.”Yeah sure, show me what you got!” He said as he watched Lexi start to chant, a now black aura around her. Darrin rose a brow wondering what was going to happen but he was curious to find out.

Darrin was excited to see what Lexi was up to…that is until he saw her eyes glowing red. Being a bit weary due to being sleep deprived from the night before Darrin try to keep his guard up the best he could. When the black shadows appeared that all changed when he jumped a bit back, hitting his head on the wall. Darrin cussed under his breath, soon noticing the room was calm again and not a big wind storm. Rubbing the back of his head he laughed nervously at Lexi.”Yeah I’m glad I’m on your side.” He said with a small smiled seeing Lexi cheerful as ever.

Darrin blinked seeing how worried Lexi was.”Y-yeah I’m fine. ” He said with reassuring smile. Seeing her eyes back to their original blue made his heart melt a bit, he liked her eyes.”Don’t worried about it…besides, not like I need my brain for anything right?” He teased.

Darrin smiled kindly at his friend.”Nah it doesn’t hurt that much, don’t worried…” He suddenly stopped speaking as he felt Lexi kiss his forehead.”…About it.” He said softly, now blushing a deep red. Looking away to hide it he rubbed the back of his head, trying to figure out what just happen. Sure his forehead felt better and he would thank her for that, but he was starting to think thoughts he never thought before… that he loved his best friend who’s been there for him since high school. Darrin shook his head and dismissed those thoughts. Lexi was an all-powerful demon and he was well, just a normal, average, non-powerful human who was accident prone no less. She probably wasn’t interested in him in that kind of way anyway, chances are she would want someone more interesting who had powers…or wasn’t normal like him. After giving himself that oh so wonderful “pep” talk he looked back at Lexi once his blush was nearly gone, seeing her with her kitten.”Thanks for healing my head, next time you use that spell I’ll make sure to wear a helmet.” He joked with a smirk.

Darrin smiled hearing Lexi giggled, it always made him feel good that he could make her laugh. About to ask her what was next in that interesting spell book of hers he noticed she was deep in thought just like yesterday, staring at him for some reason. Rubbing the back of his head he looked away and wonder if he should ask her but he didn’t want it to become awkward if she told him no, he still wanted to be friends with her after all. So instead he quickly thought of something to see if asking her was worth.” Um hey…before you practice anymore spells I need advice for something.” He started saying, rubbing the back of his head nervously.”There’s this girl I like and I want to ask her out but I think I’m not her type or I’m just to mundane for her tastes…should I still ask her out and tried or just give up?” He asked looking at Lexi. He didn’t know how she would react to the question or how she would answer it but he couldn’t just ignore how he felt and wanted to know if it was worth to spill out his feelings for her.

Darrin’s heart started to race knowing he was going to have to say it sooner or later. He nodded at her suggestion with a small smile.” Alright w-well-. “He started to blush deeply as he began to Sutter. He couldn’t believe he was babbling like an idiot at a time like this but taking a deep breath he had no chance to get this right.” I-I was wondering if you would go o-out with me!?” He blurted out quickly, his blush getting deeper. It wasn’t his idea to embarrass himself today but seems it was too late to fix that.” I really like you Lexi and I just don’t want to ruin what we already have…I’ll just shut up now, I sound like an idiot.” He mumbled, covering his face.

Darrin wish he could have just hid away somewhere after he confessed to Lexi how he felt, he just hoped it wouldn’t get awkward or worse, lose his best friend. Still keeping his face cover he heard her giggle, which just made him blush more out of embarrassment. Hearing his name he slowly looked up at Lexi as he almost froze feeling her hand upon his cheek, his heart racing…he didn’t expect what was next. Feeling his head being lifted up his eyes grew wide once she kissed him but hesitantly he soon did the same. If he was dreaming he wished he never woke up.

Darrin smiled warmly at Lexi as she pulled away from they’re kiss, feeling relieved that she felt the same way. He couldn’t help but stare at her beautiful blue eyes and hold her hand as she spoke; overall he was happier than he was ever before knowing they were now together.”You have no idea how happy I am right now.” He said.”I like you Lexi, I want to protect you and help you as much as I can.”
