Justice was just about to reply that he was well - disappointed that neither had been chosen to be Knights - but well, when the offer to spar AND the intrusion that followed wiped that completely from his mind.

With a grin and a nod, his eyes followed after Merope as well, watching as he ran past. "Yes... It can wait I suppose..." he finished her unspoken query as she snuck up on Merope.

As she struck her pose and chanted, he followed up with his own. "To conquer all of the remaining nations!" His own pose an almost mirror of hers - well, as best as he could manage.

Blinking as well at Merope's antics he coughed into his hand. "Well... Merope - The Hermit - erm... Generally one carries a halberd in their hands and not one's pants - It is a very dangerous proposition to do otherwise I would think."

Moving over, he held his hand out for the halberd. "Let me hold that for you while you gather other supplies..." Before you hurt someone - or yourself... he left unspoken.

"I came here from Silver." he simply stated. That was all he needed to say, he suppose. How much any other kingdom knew about the others was not within his knowledge pool. Perhaps she would perceive him as a threat from another kingdom. Perhaps she will take him to their king to be killed or imprisoned. Either situation was not the ideal one he would choose. "I am here to assist the king." That was all he could really remember besides adhere to the kingdom's law that all Silvers should remember. Damn, he didn't even know their king and here he was saying this. But it was all he got.

"You asked too many questions. I gave you an answer now give me one in return, shadow." If confrontation was abound then he was ready to take her head off if he had to. Then again, she was so dark and he didn't know anything about them. Could it be possible that he couldn't even harm them? How did they fight? Looking at her shadow against the dark back drop of this world, he couldn't see her hands too well. Did they have weapons? Did they use their fists? How do they defend themselves?

Mari pursed her lips in a pout at Amarus' departure, disappointed at not being invited. Then she shrugged and flit off to bother the Moon. With a familiarity that may or may not be earned, Mari practically draped her bare body on the higher ranked Shadow. "Sooooooo happy for you, Rita~" she purred.

Mari is a winged, legless, gray-skinned shadow with "strategically" placed hair and a long, red tongue. Tess is a nearly featureless black shadow dressed in loose garments.

A very fine, near imperceptible strand of shadow connects these two.

"Ah, wait! Don't --" The hermit stuttered as Justice reached out for the halberd. Merope took a step back and wobbled, off-balance as Aezeloth helpfully reached out to grab the halberd.

What followed could only be described as a cacophony of sound, with clatters and bangs intermixed with booms and thuds as equipment from weapons to armor to rations and beyond spilled out of both Merope's pants and robes. It was a shadowy torrent of equipment that swept over their feet, and echoed still as the last piece of equipment fell with a soft ting!

The Hermit reached down and plucked his staff from the pile, shuffling and coughing embarrassingly. "I... didn't expect to spill my load so quickly," he admitted, using the butt of his staff to gently move a hat he had picked up from somewhere aside.

He continued to look around embarrassingly before he began to dig in the pile, fishing out his pants and stuffing them up his (now thankfully closed) sleeve.

Silver. It was true also she didn't know much about the other Kingdoms but she knew enough to apply a few keywords to each color and name. Silver, if she remembered correctly, were simply of a people that could travel between Kingdoms and bartered for a living. And that was about all she knew, nothing really special like the others.

"I-I don't remember making such an agreement," she sputtered, unsure. Was she supposed to be going on his terms? Was this how one of them worked? She kept her eyes narrowed even though she was not sure how best to deal with this. "B-but, you answered your own question. I am a Shadow."

"Y-you really wish to help our lord?" She questioned him. Should she bring him along? She was going back to the tower anyways, the Shadowlord could handle this fellow easily enough ... and the others were probably there as well...

Amarus grinned even wider when Justice pitched in for his half of the performance; she was too distracted to finish the rest of it, but she had cheered up substantially. The smile melted off her face and was replaced with something far more quizzical. "Justice is right, Merope-- would you... really want to walk around with that in there?" she asked, shaking her head.

Amarus stood in dead silence as the Hermit and Justice had some personal time together that resulted in a terrible mess. She did not want to have any part, and certainly did not want to be in the middle. It seemed messy.

She picked her way around the pile of weapons and gear and just stood there, in awe. "Merope... how big are your pants, exactly?"

"Agreement or no. I give an answer, you give an answer. It is the only way you will get answers to your questions from me." It was simple. It was like bartering. You trade on equal shares on both sides of the trading parties. If you wanted something, you give them something of equal value. Though, in this case, perhaps value did not play a pivotal point in these exchanges. Information was far more important.

"A shadow?" He questioned. Shadows were but the darkness that was created when an object stood before a light source. He remembered making shadows on the walls by candle light before sleeping when he was young. But what was the object that created her? She was a shadow and yet she stood without little light to create her... "Now that we are even in exchange - is everyone in the Black Kingdom shadows?"

"I am here to offer assistance, if he doesn't want it, that's fine. I can find my way to another kingdom and offer myself there."

Suffice it to say - It was not Aezeloth - Justice's first choice to grip hard on the shaft and pull, but it was what was required to end the predicament they were in. Of course, The Hermit spilled his load everywhere, and it was not a mess that Aezeloth had ANY intention of cleaning up. It was Merope's mess, he could clean it up.

Slowly making his way out of the weapons and gear that now covered the floor, Justice shook his head and sighed. "This... This was what I was trying to avoid Merope." He said looking around. "Now the shades will have to clean up this mess, and I doubt the king will be very happy that you spilled your entire load in the armory before we even began our conquest. Maybe if you didn't keep your shaft in your pants, you might have a better chance."

To Amarus' query, he snickered and smirked in her direction. "Not big enough Judgement... Not nearly big enough for his load."

Merope kicked an offending weapon out of his way, only to wince and dance back in pain. Then slip and fall and create a second loud clatter. The Shadow shook his head as he stood up, using his staff for support. "Well, I had the situation under control," he protested, waving a free hand as if to dismiss the recent disaster.

As Judgement asked her question, Merope shrugged before he reached into his sleeved and pulled out a pair of gaudy, shadowy pants. He held them up, shrugged, and stuffed them back into his sleeve. "Big enough, I supposed," he mused with a third shrug.

To Justice Merope snapped his fingers. "Curses! And a big mess like this would take them awhile to clean up, wouldn't it? I suppose I had better stay behind and help them out. After all, it wouldn't do the King any good to have his personal Royal Collection of Useful Forgotten Memories'n'Things in disarray, wouldn't it?" Oddly, he sounded cheered by the prospect.

"You know what this means, right, Merope?..." Amarus paused, making an expression akin to quirking a brow. "You should not go stuffing things down your pants, not anything that large-- consider a sack, next time, perhaps? Some kind of receptacle, okay?" Amarus added, and sighed.

"I don't... think the King would be particularly happy if he knew Merope spilled a load of the King's own stuff regardless, and I would like to second that in general large weaponry... yes, we have learned our lesson now I suspect," Amarus finished, trailing off; she was distracted, picking up a weapon from the floor and dusting if off, to put it back in its place.

"I suppose I will help clean," she began, but turned to look at Justice, "but I will occasionally try to catch you off guard on the back of the head! Oh, unless you sneak off to do more exciting things," she finished. "...then I will probably sneak off too. No offense, Merope, but I think we should also keep you in tow. I do not think you should be left alone."

Aezeloth shook his head. Well if Judgement was going to be hanging around - he saw no reason to sneak off on his own just yet. The honorable thing to do was to stay behind and help - while getting in a few jabs at Amarus while he was at it.

"Nay, I'll stay and assist, but you know I don't leave my rear unguarded," he smirked at Judgement, flicking his tail in her direction with a shake of his head. "So we shall both attempt to strike at the other whilst their back is turned, and their rear presented."

Turning to Merope, he nodded at Judgement's though. "Agreed, I think it would be prudent if you stayed with us Merope - at least for the time being." That way we could keep an eye on you so you don't get yourself killed... He kept to himself with a light chuckle.

"Now then," he said, picking up a breastplate from off the floor. "Shall we?"

His gaze was drawn back to the pile as Amarus spoke. Using his staff he moved items from side to side, digging in the mess he created until he found what he was looking for. "Ah, but I fear not everything would fit in this," he said as he held up a bulging messenger's bag, slinging it over his shoulder. "Which is why I moved onto my shirt, then my robes, then my pants. If I had a couple more minutes then..."

Then what? He would have had a full arsenal that (truthfully) he couldn't use. But if he could bring it to someone who could, if he could pull a Silver and trade them, then perhaps. Just perhaps then he could make himself useful. He was a scavenger, someone who made do what he came across. That was how he existed, how he chose to follow his Name.

The words of Justice and Judgement brought him to a still, the shadow staring at the two with a blank look. "You... You want me to come with both of you?" He asked slowly in disbelief. "Are -- I mean -- are you sure? I am the Hermit. Isolation and being alone is kind of... what I do?" He scratched the back of his head, looking a bit lost. "This is, ah, something I never expected," he confessed. "But perhaps maybe I can learn from the both of you, rather than learn from the forgotten memories I've fished up from the lakes."

The Hermit took a moment to tighten his robes and replace his pants, sparing a moment to tuck his staff safely into the back of his robe's sash. He began to pick items out from the mess he created to form into piles, separating the item by weapon, armor, and use for easier sorting.

Dangerous Hunter

PostPosted: Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:59 pm

"The Chariot" had been watching the Wheel of Fortunes deal in their game of chance, a disapproving look on his face when the king called them forth, and all was silent.
Without a word, he stepped forward, accepting the card offered to each of them.
Flipping it over, he frowned.
... Blank?

But not for long.
With time, ink spread over the card. For him, a simple swirl of opposing arrows.
Tch. A Dark Herald, huh? Well, that was fine with him. He would write his own path. This wasn't the first he had to prove himself, and prove himself he will.

He slipped the card into his vest, and turned when the king dismissed them, not bothering to utter a word with any of the other shadows. He wasn't here for chit-chat. They had a war to prepare for.

Wandering out of the tower, he summoned another pendant, and this time, when crushed, shadows swirled and shifted, taking the form of a horse, neon green eyes studying him curiously.

"Come. Let us train."
Beckoning to the horse, he reached out his hand, shadows swirling around it as it took the shape of a lance.
With it formed, he grabbed hold of it, and proceeded on his way. He hadn't gotten far when he came across another shadow... no, this was not an inhabitant of the Black Kingdom.

Lance raised, he pointed it at the figure, eyes narrowed into slits.
"Explain yourself."

Name: Jake (But only answers to "Chariot")
Majora Arcana: The Chariot
Rank: Dark Herald (Pawn)
Current Location: ... Outside?
Description: His appearance doesn't differ much from his hunter appearance, aside from the fact that he is made of shadows. His accent colour is white, representing the balance of the opposing forces in his Majora card. He has the ability to form shadows into weapons, and while they may vary, they usually take the form of claws, blades or a lance, something allowing close combat. He can also summon his shade, a shadow horse with neon green eyes, but will rarely ever fight with it, as the shade's purpose is only to help him travel long distances.

The Sun bowed to her King in thanks at the honor he bestowed on her. She would have accepted any position he gave her with pleasure and a firm resolve to seek victory, or die trying. That he trusted her to lead the attack upon the enemy meant a lot to the petite Shadow. The newly named Penumbral Paladin tucked the card into her own being, right alongside the card that had first named her Sun. Her mind had already turned to what extra supplies she might need to take. A mischievous shout from Merope almost had her dashing after him just for the sake of racing him. The Sun noticed, however, that someone was approaching her, and when she identified who it was, the ever-present smile grew wider.

"To you as well, Tess!" she replied to the congratulations, stepping forward to take Tess's hands. "I look forward to fighting by your side on the battlefield! Do you and Mari have many preparations to make?"

The Sun is a petite Shadow in ornate armor, which glimmers from the golden light she seems to give off. Her head is mostly covered in a hood, save for the face, which is half-covered by a mask with the sun carved into its surface like a singular eye. The mouth beneath the mask is rarely seen without a smile.

Nevena would pick her way through the Tower carefully, her senses alert. Already, her mind delighted in the chaos of the glorious battles that would happen, and the fact that she had been given such a position to better see it through... Yes, she would gladly heal her fellows if that meant they would reign supreme at the end of day.

Her golden eyes gleamed as she spotted another, and she hummed to herself low in her throat even as she approached with a sultry sort of walk. Difficult to do when one was lacking any real curve in the hip, but somehow, she'd attempt to manage.

"It's exciting, isn't it?" She nearly cooed. "Are you ready for this day? I suppose we'll see, soon enough."
