I dislike Misa as well, but the sad thing is that she really doesn't realize what Light is using her for, or even that he's using her. :/ She just doesn't have enough of a brain, and in that respect I do feel sorry for her.
But...THE ANIME IS SO COOL!!! <33 I love it. Anime!L is really, really hawt. xD; I love the opening as well.

I'm not sure if this thread is buried or not, and if it is, well...I really hope someone replied anyway.
Anywho, to just start anything up, I'm a newbie to the series, and I absolutely lust for L. Alot. Of course, I have also come to learn that Gaians don't know how to hide their spoilers, and even though I'm just a beginner to to series, I think I might be ending it soon as well. I don't know.
As for the Light/L pairing, I can't seem to get into it. At all. It's rather strange, but it may have something to do with my extreme hatred for Light. I think they should just both be left alone.
And because I can, to mention on Misa, for now I think she's quite cute. I didn't like her at first, but after she lost her memory, I think she's quite adorable now xD.

@SeNalove The Death Note manga has been over for months. Well past the spoiler time limit. Most DN fans have gone through the manga already and probably the live action movies too. This thread was made before the Live Action was even finished. I'm sorry that you're getting spoiled but you can't really blame that on the Gaians for it.

I pretty much figured that the manga was through ( or, do you know if it's completely finished or still in progress?), but perhaps I was misinformed that the translated anime is still in its baby steps? Maybe I'm just weird, but sometimes I like to just choice either/or, anime or manga, and for this particular series I chose to follow the anime. I didn't think I was the only one who simply followed the anime, and if I was right to assume there's many others who do the same, then many of them would be disappointed too.
Anyway, I wasn't really talking about anyone in this thread, mostly others, new ones I specifically joined to avoid spoilers as I figured people would know what was a huge give-away and what wasn't. Others have agreed that even though lots of fans might know about it, it's still a huge mount for the series and newbie watchers might like to not be hit in the face with it so early on.
Anywho, not meaning to argue...well, I guess a little bit, but I figure you can understand why someone might be a little down about it.

The manga is finished in Japan. However the official English translation isn't complete yet. I think volume 6 was the most recent release. I think the majority of fans followed the series while it was still being scanlated and know the ending already. If you haven't been spoiled for the ending, I think you should avoid the DN fandom for a while. >.> Or join a group for anime-watching newbies.
As for the anime, I don't know what they’re going to do with it. I only watch it every once in a while to swoon at L's voice. *_*

Disappointment... Resignation... Anxious... L, Raito, Mello, and Near are my favorites. Misa is pretty awesome, too. I like LxRaito and MelloxNear. Alienation... Desperate... Isolation... Envious...

SeNalove As for the Light/L pairing, I can't seem to get into it. At all. It's rather strange, but it may have something to do with my extreme hatred for Light. I think they should just both be left alone.
And because I can, to mention on Misa, for now I think she's quite cute. I didn't like her at first, but after she lost her memory, I think she's quite adorable now xD. Wow, I agree so completely with you that it's almost scary. I hate Light so much, I can't seem to get past it. I liked him for a little while in the middle when they're cuffed together, but only because of the circumstances of his character in that timeframe. I'm back to hating him again, as it so happens. I've never hated a character quite this much before. But the opposite goes for Misa, who seems to be disliked a lot in the fandom. I don't know, I found her hilarious right away and still grin every time we see her.

I especially loved L's "Light is my first ever friend" line. Just... I can't even describe my reaction to that part. It's the first time I litterally started "aww"ing out loud when reading manga before. Misa is just one of those characters, I guess. I burst into a fit of giggles when she kisses L on the cheek and he goes "I might fall in love with you." but then she meets with Rem again and I want to kill her just to stop the chain of events that's about to take place due to that. Eh. It would have happened anyway. Light is such a doofus. ::pouts::

*Sad* I didn't read the manga Yet but i already watch the movie & Death Note the anime (24) I like Misa because she's so cute >w<* ! I love so much light. He's too evil T_______T and L's is cool too but i prefer light >w> *WeeEeeeeEe* But my most fav. Character is Rem & Ryuuk ! heart Love for Life C8

crazedgal713 OMG! thats so completly awsome! I cant wait for it to come out. I am scared tho, that they wont do it justice, but we'll just have to see. Haha biggrin They totaly didn't -_- I saw both of the movies here in Japan the first one starts out well enough, but then towards the middle when the get to the FBI agent following Light and the deal with the fieance...the whole thing goes waaaaay off. also I didn't like how they portrayed L... and Misa Misa was not nearly cute and spunky enough. the second one I didn't like much at all...specaly the ending...I won't spoil it tho... on the up side...they do a good job with the CG or Ryuk and Rem and the actor they have playing Light's dad was Chairman Kaga from the origonal Iron Chef xd

Kay so, I was curious about how the anime would handle... certain events that took place in the manga, so I watched episode 25 on youtube the other day.
My brain basically froze about half-way into it. They embellished a little bit, but I'm not complaining at all. In fact, I don't think I've heard anyone complain about it.
A lot of people seem to be really smitten with the drying off part, and granted, despite hating Light with a fiery passion, I loved it too, but my favorite part was definitely when Light is trying to ask L a question and L keeps making "I can't hear you" gestures, and then that smile.
I actually rewatched it a few times just for that. sweatdrop
edit: Also, is it awful of me that I burst out laughing every time Light starts killing people in the anime? I can't help it, they just make it so ridiculously dramatic. All he's doing is writing but it's almost as if he's carving scripts from The Bible into people's flesh or something, the way he does it. I understand that it's supposed to be really dramatic, taking into account what he's doing, but I always got the impression from the manga that writing people's names down for him was almost as simple as outlining a grocery list.
But in the anime he gets spastic arm movements, loud painful choir music and really fast perspective changes. XD

Heh, just gotten obsessed with Death Note a few months ago. Sadly I haven't read much of the manga, but I am caught up with the anime. ^^
Light/L....even though I partially despise Light, and clearly fangirling over L, putting them together just puts me into a fit of fangirlish giggles. They're really cute together, but them getting it on isn't my thing. Snuggly wuggly Light/L for me! x3
