Strange. There was an odd feeling when the woman in his arms spoke. His brow knitted in dismay, as if something in the back of his mind was trying to tell him something, trying to point out something very important that he needed to realize and come to terms with right that second or else he was going to regret it. He just couldn't place what it was.. and there were far better things to focus on. Bastion's smile quirked one side of his face, and he brushed the hair out of the little sky creatures eyes.

"Nonsense. The only thing you broke when you fell on me, was my utter melancholy. My pain, I feel none of it. Just say the word and you can drop in on me anytime." He was laying it on thick. But even as the little lady attempted to be polite, he could see the glimmer of something sad shining behind those eyes. Apparently, even miracles from the sky had their troubles.

"Here now. Up we go-" He gathered her up in his arms and held her, bridal style, in his arms. He was loathe to let her go - and a tiny part of him hoped, just hoped, that Mjoll was watching him be the hero. His smirk took on a far more pleased look. "Is there anywhere I can take you? Back to your place, or mine?"

That feeling was probably along the same type Molan had felt earlier that day. Apparently people in the gold kingdom were just as brilliant as the silver. They ignored it just as often.

He blinked a bit as the stranger brushed his bangs aside, doing his best to maintain a blank look at the words. Well, no one was offended, but it was obvious. Painfully so. This man was hitting on him. Either he had no preference toward either gender, or he thought he was a woman. ...perhaps listening to his father about not wearing such loose clothing would have been a good idea. Too late to worry about it now.

"I try not to fall from the heavens too often, it's typically less than pleasant." He replied, staring evenly at the fellow. Until he found himself being lifted up, quite like a princess, and to his utter stupidity, clinging to the only thing available to avoid falling once more. Which was Bastion.

This was not the most proud moment of his life.

So here he found himself, arms around the neck of a stranger as he was asked about the most unexpected thing one could think after all that had happened today. Or perhaps he should have expected it with how the man was behaving. He wasn't quite sure how to reply. He was being asked if- if he wanted to? Yes, certainly, but these proud people wouldn't ask that of a stranger, right? "I-... I believe here is fine. That is-" He paused, squinting a bit at the man as he wondered if he really hadn't figured it out. "-you do realize I am a man, yes?" Because it really seemed like this fellow didn't.

A sense of humor. Bastion couldn't help but appreciate that little quirk, snickering under his breath at her comment. She wasn't the type to fall for lines; that just made the chase all the more exciting. If he had to work a little for his reward, he wasn't past putting a little effort into it. After all, if she'd agreed to come home with him at that very moment, she was more than likely a whore. And not the kind that just liked a good romp for fun, no - the kind that left with your wallet the day after because that was their job. He was always watching out for those kinds of ladies. The Kingdom was thankfully filled with classier women than that, but every once in a while..

You learned that lesson once, and it stuck with you. No matter how highbrow the kingdom might be, there was always someone looking to con you out of a coin or two. Bastion might enjoy the presence of a fine lady, but he did not deal in the dirty deeds of prositution. There were limits to the lows he would ever reach.

So the refusal pleased him. The information that came after, however, did not.

The smile remained on his face, frozen, just as he was. His mind was trying to process those few words he'd just heard. A joke? No, no she - he was serious. A cosmic joke, then. Ah, the gods and their whims. Would they never stop laughing at him? First, losing his heart to Mjoll, and now this..

Bastion set the man gently on his feet, but his hands remained firmly placed around his body. After all, he was soft, and smelled like a woman. It wasn't that hard to pretend. So he bent his head down, and whispered, very faintly, into the man's hears.

"Can we just.. uh.. forget you just said that?"

Smooth.

Kashiyoru had watched the spectacle from falling from the sky 'start' to what he was now going to make the end of this embarrassing situation. Bastion was laying it on so thick even Kashi wanted to gag. He needed to correct this.

'He's going about it all wrong!' Flirting was an art and Bastion's style was not pleasing to Kashiyoru's senses! And a strange sound from above, as he approached the two, was just the opening he needed.

"If you're quite done making an utter fool of yourself," Kashi mocked, smirking as he lightly tugged a gold and orange scarf out of the air; which he assumed must belong to the being whom fell before it. "I do believe this lovely creature could use a little space."

He gave the pale young man a wink before lightly holding the scarf out to the newcomer; though his grip was much tighter than it seemed. He waited for the other to reach out for it.

He was still smiling, that... so he knew all along? Wait, no. The man allowed him to stand on his own feet finally, which was something to be thankful for in and of itself. Then again, perhaps being held up wasn't all bad either. Would he have been able to stand right away on his own? A question for the past, he dropped it at that as he took note of an issue.

Bastion wasn't letting go. Or rather, was still just as near. And the question that followed, ever so quietly. Politely as possible of course. He wasn't sure what to make of that really. Should he be offended? Downright angry? Or... just neutral. Yes, that was his duty. To his Kingdom. Though in truth, there was only one way he would ever agree to such a thing. "If I am permitted to forget all that has happened earlier this day." It was a solid no, he wouldn't be forgetting any of that anytime soon, but the man didn't know that. So it seemed a fair enough reply. Though just as he finished issuing it he found another speaking up, another one?

Lovely creature? Oh gods, there were more of them then? Perhaps this was why others had questioned his choice to come here. They knew. Which meant they'd all thought he was interested in this type of thing? He, really was left without words, even if the second person was far more polite than the first. Or at least more understanding. Polite wasn't the word, he'd already insulted his fellow citizen. "That would, in fact, be appreciated actually." At that point he noted the cloth, reaching rather eagerly for it.

Something of home, of the place he belonged. Even if it was an oddity it was welcomed, desired. Anything for a small chance at familiarity would be appreciated. It was truly kind of the man to catch that for him. A bright smile lit up along his face as he spoke, obviously expecting to get it right away. "Thank you, I wouldn't have known what to do if that was lost." After all, it was a miracle either he or that thing had made it through. He should properly appreciate them.

If there was a hell, Bastion was sure he'd just stepped into it.

He took a moment to glare, viciously, at the intruder to their conversation, but his arms held no ferocity and let the boy leave them with ease. After all, this wasn't exactly his cup of tea - but his pride was still just a little bit hurt. Being insulted for his prowess with flirting didn't help, and his hands tightened into fists as he straightened up, giving the newcomer a glare.

"Did no one teach you any manners, sir?" Bastion hissed. "You don't simply walk up to two people in the middle of a conversation and intrude without a proper greeting." Was he really lecturing on manners? Well, Bastion was the one who'd grown up in a Kingdom where manners were the lifeblood of existence - even flirtations took a back seat to it. Of course, he was just using the backlash of the man's lack of manners to get revenge for making him look bad. All the same, it was a better reaction than the first one that boiled to the surface - which was Bastion's innate desire to pummel this man directly into the ground, leaving nothing but a blood stain as evidence of his existence.

No. Not in the presence of the King. Not in the midst of so many fine ladies. Bastion would never be so barbaric.

The sky creature seemed far more comfortable dealing with the man, either way. He decided it was for the best, in the end. Bastion had enough trouble dealing with women; the mere idea of taking a chance on a man was a flight of fancy that died almost as quickly as it had flown.

"Then I leave you in his capable hands. I'm sure you'll be much happier without me."

Everyone else was.

Acerium blinked at the sheer amount of decoration around her, slightly confused by the sudden visual.
It took her a moment to realize she had landed right on her a**.
And another to realize that she was now a survivor. Normally she would be quite excited... but she was still somewhat shaken. No freaking wonder.
She stood up, arranging some cloth she had grabbed from her cart as a shawl. She felt underdressed. And odd without her plants. Her poor plants...
She was still somewhat shaky, but this was what her people did! Adapt. Already, she was starting to wonder what plants were in this strange land!
It was better than thinking about the tower collapsing...

((Yikes! This was quite a thing to start my day with!
Also, Acerium is a woman with green eyes and messy hair eternally containing leaves and twigs. Her clothes are also... somewhat dirty. Her shawl, at least, is clean. ))

There were newcomers. Mengyao's eyes narrowed a little, tilting his head as he scrutinized them carefully. They did not seem to be a part of his kingdom, yet they had come seemingly from nowhere, arriving in a gust of wind and surprise.

Something is beginning.

He made his way towards the first two.

"Welcome to Edric," said the Emperor calmly. "What are your names so that I may give you a proper greeting into my country? Where have you come from?"

((entering))

Ligaya stumbled through the portal from the crumbling Silver Kingdom, her body having propelled itself out of harm's way with nary a backward glance. She emerged in the Gold Kingdom, or rather fell into it, dropping unceremoniously into a fountain with an audible splash. Sputtering and drenched, Ligaya's arms flailed about in an attempt to tell which side was up in order to reorient herself.

Some might say the ditch-digger upgraded her station in life, since the Gold ore was deemed more precious than Silver. But she didn't exactly see it that way as far as Kingdoms went. She rarely ever shadowed this realm, less to do with the ornate landscape and architecture and more with how she would never quite be dressed as anything but shabby.

It may have been vain of her, but the ditch-digger (was she still one now that Silver was gone?) always resented that the prettiest of her dresses were considered rags here. But Ligaya would make the best of her situation, and though the shock of the Silver Kingdom's fall had hit her so hard it left her breathless, she'll pass it off as effects of the cold water.

And rather than appear miserable about her current situation, Ligaya was determined to grin and bear it.

Mjoll watched feeling a little crest fallen, though no doubt the Emperor knew what he was doing.

She watched as Bastion caught one of the new comers and started promptly, ugh was he trying to flirt with them? The horror. Someone just fell from the sky and Bastion's answer was to flirt with them.

How smooth. Mjoll rolled her eyes and moved closer to inspect the new comers as her king spoke. The male bastion was practically drooling over wasn't badly dressed at least, perhaps... she was eyeing the jewelery he wore wondering.... Though she kept quite for now pondering how best to go about getting a few answers for herself. And to remove the insulter from earlier, after all she simply didn't want to deal with him if he wasn't going to appreciate her hard work for anything more than a snot rag.

She glanced around to the others that showed, a pity they were under dressed and well... it was unfortunate one of them seemed to have nothing but rags. There was a small frown, as she thought. Perhaps if they weren't malice she could do something about their clothing. After all if they were going to be here they should at least look more presentable.

It took a bit of effort, but Ligaya finally managed to climb out of the fountain. Her clothes were soaked and clinging uncomfortably to her skin. What she wouldn't do to feel the calming weight of her shovel in her hands. Or maybe it was best she didn't have her shovel with her. She might be tempted to starting digging a ditch to climb into and die right there from utter embarrassment when she finally spotted the crowd nearby.

There wasn't outright laughter ringing in her ears, which was a good sign. But then again, should she risk presenting herself and putting herself up for public humiliation? Somewhere, deep inside Ligaya, she could swear someone would tell her that she ought to just suck it up and get it over with. Probably in just a few monosyllabic words to boot.

Screwing her courage to the sticking place, Ligaya marched on up, prepared to ask for something to dry off with.

Despite having not been chosen, Kiwi was very proud to serve his king. A warm smile touched his lips and a sense of pride and strength flowed through him as he watched the glowing golden threads weave the symbol above the left breast of his robes. When it was accomplished he answered his king with a humble bow.

Nearby, a familiar voice croaked. Kiwi angled his head, eyes searching from behind a small feathered fan not unlike his lord's own. Ah yes. The town drunk. It seems he had somehow landed flat on his back yet again. Normally that would be nothing to draw concern over, but something strange had appeared.

A denizen of a different kingdom. It was obvious by the sheer lack of gold anywhere on their bodice. And before his eyes, another appeared, and then another. Raining down from the heavens with their pale silver light like dying stars.

Kiwi's eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly, a frown tugging at his lips from behind the veil of feathers. If it was knowledge that would give them the advantage, perhaps it was time to collect some of that knowledge now.

He approached the newcomers with careful steps, offering them all a warm smile. But his gaze settled on the first, who had had the unfortunate first impression of landing atop a charlatan. Kiwi was not amused.

"I am sorry your first impression of our lovely kingdom was in meeting our dear Bastion," he forced a smile, golden eyes briefly falling to the dark-skinned man. "I am Kiwi, welcome to our kingdom, and feel free to speak with me if you need anything."

Kiwi of Edric/Gold

Kiwi's HP: --/--
Target(s): N/A
Defending: N/A
Rank Ability: Unused - NA
Kingdom Ability: Unused - Release of the Mana Stone/Unbinding
Character Kingdom: Edric/Gold
Character's Miasma Colour: Gold
Character description:

- He is a lanky citizen clothed in robes of black, layered over with simple red and gold embossed cloth. His brown hair is done up into a slightly loose and messy bun, held together with hairpins and adorned with giant red spider lilies and golden chains that dangle and loop down. Any jewelry he wears is also made of solid gold, matching his naturally golden eyes, which he is secretly quite proud of. And if one were to glimpse his bare back, they would find the crimson stain of wings etched across his skin.

- Having a wise understanding of the art of battle, he works within the kingdom as a practiced tactician; namely, hands-on teaching others the finer aspects of how to fight and defend oneself.

- Personality-wise he is reflective of his kingdom. Proud of what they have accomplished, only wanting to see their kingdom thrive and flourish. He'd give his life to protect their honor, one of the reasons he chose to teach combat training, and give back to his kingdom for all they have given him.

She tilted her head back up when the Emperor spoke to her, listening to his words with rapt attention and a gaze locked on his. Excitement welled up inside of her with the choosing, and she nodded, her eyes alighting with pride, her emotions for once written clearly across her face to show him just how grateful she was for this opportunity. It only lasted a short moment, however, as her features smoothed once more, her head tilting up slightly more as he raised her hand and impressed upon her skin the mark of general.

"You owner me, and my family, Emperor. You will not be disappointed with your decision." She murmured to him, before bowing again and making her way back to where she had stood before, next to Lifen.

"Thank you." Was her response, a feeling of sincere gratitude towards the much smaller woman springing to life inside of her. She would have had more to say, but then Lifen was being called forward as well, and a smirk very quickly replaced the calm expression on her face.

Shortly after this something in the atmosphere almost seemed to change, and she turned, one eyebrow raising in surprise when she noticed some new additions to the faces gathered around, ones that stuck out and were obviously not of this kingdom. She strode closer, so as to listen in to whatever answers they gave to the questions posed.

Acerium had never met an emperor before. It took her a while to retrieve what she was supposed to do in the gold kingdom.
Bow. Right.
She bowed.
"My name is Acerium, I am an expert on plant cultivation- medicinal and ornamental" She said, somewhat shakily and far too formally for her.
There were others from Silver Kingdom here? Oh good! It hadn't occurred to her that she might be an ONLY survivor, but it was good to know it for sure.
"We are ambassadors from the silver kingdom..."
Well, ambassadors wasnt the right word, but she remembered her lessons on shadowing. Always make everything seem fine and dandy- its the best negotiating position.
And maybe if she did it right... maybe that whole thing about the tower would be a bad dream.
Then again, she had entered on her arse.
"We had a bit of a portal mishap..." it was the best lie she could say, while being shaken, slightly afraid, wonderfully overjoyed by her surroundings, and starstruck.

Wow! Meeting a King!

What a day! The best market day ever!

Well sort of. The thought that there might be any more market days sort of sobered her up.

She hummed quietly as she gladly squeezed Senga’s hand back. Jay remained wordless as she dared to rest her head against the swordsman’s shoulder for a brief moment before she immediately stood at attention before the emperor began to call out names. Sea green eyes glittered with keen interest as she diverted her focus onto Mengyao. There were no further words for her childhood friend as she watched on. The copycat doubted she would be chosen, but that suited her just fine. She was the kind of person who didn’t specialize in anything particular, but if there was a role she could fill in…? Well, Jay wouldn’t mind.

Her dress fluttered softly as she stood on her toes to garner a better view as Shaheen’s name was called out. In the light she could have sworn there was something flickering on their hands, but it was probably just her imagination playing games with her. Jay bit her bottom lip as she huffed impatiently, but remained still when she heard Lan’s name. She turned toward Senga and grinned. “It’s Lan!”

Jay happily shifted her weight from one foot to another as she tugged at Senga’s sleeves with his free hand. She stopped suddenly when the emperor mentioned nobles. ??? She pointed to herself curiously, then knitted her brows together when she realized the collar of her dress now had a golden symbol embroidered into the silk. The shimmering gold immediately caught her attention. “Senga! Look at this. Waitwaitno. Let’s go to Lan first!”

She tugged him gently toward the advisor’s direction before she let go completely to throw her arms around Lan’s neck. “CongratscongratsIknewit!”
