Robyn lay on her back on her bed, staring up at the ceiling with her arms folded behind her head. To be here again....it was exciting and unsettling. Her very first tournament...Celas...Rylen...Rosalyn...the memories ran through her head, the last one causing her to let out a growl to the empty room, ears going back. After a moment, she shook her head, sitting up. No....that was past her now. Despite the succubus' betrayal, she was a better person for what had happened. Selene was calmer, she had a better grip on her emotions and instincts. She'd lost all her friends, but she could make more...right?

The fox girl needed to get back into the swing of things, get herself acclimated to the competition life again. With another sigh and a stretch, she got off the bed, grabbing the dull grey pendant she'd placed on the nightstand, clasping it back around her neck before heading out of the room. Before, she would have taken the mental action to cover her marking, the visible part of the tattoo-like image curling a red, brown, and white paw around her neck, but she was beyond that now, no longer upset or embarrassed about her "condition", if one could call it that.

The purple-haired girl was hungry, but she didn't feel like simple room service. Staying cooped up just wasn't good for her, so she made her way to the indoor bar, more for some quick, easy food than an actual drink.

The Large man looked confused, he wasn't standing on anything, though the suited men most likely weren't happy with the damage caused by the large millstone.

"These walls are too flimsy, give me a moment and I, The Champion of Husbandry, will help build ya'll an even greater wall."

Ignoring the command's of the men to have him follow them, he sprung over to the neatly piled wood picked up a stack of wood in each arm and walked them over to the broken down wall. The stone debris would be neatly piled next to the wall waiting to be crushed into gravel. The amount of wood needed would be strange. he would need help to hold the post while he hammered them into the ground. While thinking about who he would get to help him he notched the posts at where the rails would be placed. The men in the suits were perfect for helping him fix the fence, surely they would be more than happy to fix the damage to their property. The large man barked an order at the men, his voice echoing throughout the hotel.

"Now this fence ain't going to build itself! Why ya'll standing there slack jawed and glossy eyed, Ya mothers never teach ya'll how to fix a fence?"

Stepping out of his car to look upon his destination he sighed.
It was a large eyesore of a building. Hath did not bother dressing up.
The hotel was cheap and so were many of the patrons he would be meeting.
Like himself, they held their own definition of wealth.
Power, strength, intelligence.
Their desires lay in battle, amid the bloody conflicts that were what many considered human nature.
His muscular frame and rugged demeanor suggested that he was a believer of true human nature. Or at least survival of the fittest. However, he was a gentle man off the battlefield and would rarely resolve problems with needless violence.
Upon seeing the man outside, he was reassured about his first opinion. The strange individual was dressed like a farmer, obnoxiously talking about fixing a fence. Was he going to be in the tournament? A self proclaimed Champion of Husbandry? What exactly did that entail?
Hath felt compelled to approach him.
"Excuse me sir..."
His hair was black and slicked back. Tinted glasses sat over dark eyes.
His attire was casual, giving him an approachable demeanor.
A tight black t shirt, blue jeans and black boots.
"This place is gonna be pretty dangerous while the tournament is going on..."
He scratched his head and looked at the fence.
"I would highly recommend keeping to your own business..."
Unsure of what kind of individuals would be entering, Hath turned briefly to look around before turning back to the farmer.
"There are some dangerous folk here."

His nod of thanks to the stranger offering the alcohol was the payment for the bottle as he spiked a few of his own drinks with the concoction before slamming them home. "Whoa nelly, this s**t is potent!" He exclaimed as he felt the lining of his throat burn a bit with the welcoming of the amazing brew. With his off-hand he filled a few more of the empty shot glasses for Darius next to him as he completed his own round of drinks before bringing his attention back to Terra.

"She even sounds like you! Oh man, Ellie is marrying another version of me. Before she knows it he will vanish and she will just run into him. Hopefully he is going to be a better father than I have been if they have kids." He listened to the continuing argument as he let his hand slap Terra a bit in the side at her own comment on having the poor Psion beaten. He looked at the pair and sighed as he put another shot to his lips and kicked it back. Ellie had grown up to be an amazing woman, and yet the last time he had seen her was when she was a newborn child in his arms for all of a few minutes before he had to leave. It was a tough mantle to wear, a heavy burden doing what he does, but he knew the costs and risks before he signed that contract.

Once the confrontation cooled down and his own thoughts settled, he turned and looked to Darius and poured him a few more shots. "So, where is your homeland?" He enjoyed hearing the stories of others and their tales of getting to tournaments or making their way up the complex and never ending ladder of power in Gaia.

Thurgood gets a couple of pint glasses for Cale and Aetyra when Aveline comes up to him again.

"Looks like everybody's enjoying our brandy."

"Just wait 'till it his their small intestines."

"Then we'll have the best clips on 'World's Dumbest Partiers'!"

"Even better than that one where the guy goes to a convenience store for more beer trying to overcome his own personal gale-force wind?"

"Even better than that one guy who couldn't get his flip-flop back on!"

"Heh heh heh...

...you know, ten years ago, when I first put in the four elbows, tees, and caps between the thump keg and worm, then filled the caps with powdered natrium hydroxide, you said it wouldn't work..."

"...until our next run was 163 proof. Yeah, I remember that night; mom and dad got so plastered that they were in the hospital for a couple weeks, and all our bruises actually healed."

Thurgood and Aveline pause for a bit.

"Well, I'm sure they're gettin' a**-raped in prison right now..."

The men turned their heads to one another, downright confused by his actions. One of them pulled out a phone and began talking into it, notifying the situation to the right authority. With a nod of his head, he removed the phone and spoke out.

"You have been given permission to fix the wall as payment for destroying it. If you need any supplies, these two here will be happy to supply them to you. Once you are done, you are free to go. Do not destroy any of our property in the future, please."

All but two of them turned around and headed away.

Terra arched a eyebrow at Kuro, if she wasn't feeling pretty floaty due to the potent drinks, she probably would have been a little irritated. "Oh hun, I just don't know what to do with you." She said with a breathy laugh. At the moment everything was good, she was feeling good and everything around her was highly entertaining. Turning on the bar stool, she faced out, leaning back against the counter with a drink in hand. A purple haired woman suddenly caught her eye, and Terra smiled. "Helloooo...Are you a combatant as well?"

Ellie would glance over at Kuro, studying him carefully, then glanced over at Damon, anger still gleaming in her eyes. "Love you to Damon." She said finally after a few moments of silence, then looked at the glass of water she held in her hands. "So when do you fight?"

"I don't know. Soon maybe, Participants are still arriving at the hotel." Damon wasn't anxious to get into the action, he'd be fine with fighting whenever they decided to start the first round. Nothing wrong with just hanging around the hotel and getting to know the competition before the first round.

"Looking forward to seeing me get in the ring?" He looked over at Ellie, gently nudging her shoulder with his hand.

"Maybe..." She said softly, peering at him through the red bangs that fell in front of her eyes. Her anger was slowly dissipating, but still irritation showed on her face and in her tone of voice. "I am interested to see how far you get, and who all shall be fighting. Never felt so much power in one place before...hopefully you do not get beaten up to badly."

Releasing a tired sigh, she turned her head to look at Terra and Kuro. Both seemed to be having a good time, and she was happy that they were. Though it was still hard for her to grasp the fact that her father was here with them. As she watched him, she was still unsure what to think.

      Damon nodded.

"I'm not the warrior I used to be. But I've yet to be seriously injured in these tournaments, despite people trying their hardest to do so." He thought back to the last few tournaments he competed in, and how he'd either dominated his opponent or tied them and lost by judge call.

He didn't think he'd get too far in the tournament, not that he really cared all that much about it. Prize money didn't interest him because he was already running a successful business. There was nothing for him to prove and he'd rather make a name for his business than himself.

Maybe it was just the thought of having one last HOORAH before settling down with Ellie and raising his family. Most of the fighters here were either out for the money or to make a name for them self. Or they were like Darius and did it for the sake of doing it.

"Another coke, please." Damon asked the waitress as she walked by. "So, I wonder if I should give your mother some of that Everyflavor Water. As a peace offering."

Though what Damon thinks about the other fighters is mostly true except for him, there is another notable exception: thurgood Albert Singlance: he got soundly killed the last two years (as in clinically dead), yet he's back. Why? he has to. The main reason thurgood is back is to prove that none of the other fighters ahve beaten him yet, and for him, the fight isn't over as long as he still exists in some form on some place. Thurgood is a determinator at heart, and in this tournament, he will prove it again like he did last year, stubbornly returning to the float platform even as he's literally dying.

Robyn sat at the bar, placing an order for some chips and a drink. Her body burned through practically anything, so a couple drinks wouldn't even make her tipsy. She was waiting for her order when a woman near her spoke, causing her ears to flick and glance over. The fox girl blinked in slight surprise when she saw the other girl's gaze on her, noting her as the addressee. She gave a slight smile and shrugged, her tail waving lazily back and forth behind her, the tip nearly touching the ground. "Uh..yeah. Considering you said "as well", I'm guessing you are too?" It wouldn't hurt to get to know some of the competition, after all.

Terra laughed as she shook her head. "Oh no, but I know a few who are. Most of the people who are here are taking part. I could never join up, I am a awful fighter." A kind smile graced her lips, and curiosity gleamed within her gold eyes. "You just seem different from the usual participants. A little more calmer..."

"I am Terra by the way. This old man beside me is my husband Kuro." She gestured to the white haired man beside her, then towards the fiery red headed woman on her other side. "Ellie my daughter whose fiance is participating."

"Have a seat and a drink with me." She scooted her stool over, giving the woman space to pull up a stool of her own.

Robyn chuckled at the mention of seeming calmer than the other participants. No one would have said that before nearly a year ago. "Well, I guess it helps a bit havin' been in it before. I'm also not in it just to bust heads, or for the glory." Although her appearance fit a girl of maybe 18 or 19, the fox girl's speech (tinged with a light southern accent) and demeanor spoke of either someone in their late twenties/early thirties, or someone who had seen a hell of a lot happen to them. Maybe both.

She kinda waved to the others Terra motioned to, murmuring a slight hello as her ears canted to the side. At the invitation to sit closer, the fox girl shrugged, tail lifting as she got up to move over next to Terra. "Sure, why not, don' really know anyone else here..."

The fence was starting to take shape, a few post had been hammered in single-handedly by the Champion of Husbandry. Though a c**k-eyed pretty boy started to threaten the simple man at work, this boy needed to learn respect for his elders, as did most boys that the farmer had met.

"Okay, fancy-pants you want to tell me why ya wearing a shirt that tight? Yah ma not have enough thread to make somethin' that fits?"

As the boy stepped over to the 'soon to be' fence, he would be greeted with an armful of wood.

"Now, since ya so kindly warned me to keep to my own business, how about ya help fix this here fence."

The farmer wasn't expecting the boy to be much help, if you wanted a good farmhand ya would need to raise'm yourself.

"The base post are laid out all perfect like, don't mess with that, just hold the railings while I nail them in. Ya should be careful though, there are some dangerous splinters here, I'd hate if ya dainty hands got ruined."

The farmer chuckled.

"Give yourself a few years doing this, and maybe ya'll get ya first callous."
