A grateful smile spread over Eri’s face. He couldn’t even begin to think where he would be without such assistance. He didn’t know the ways of humans or anything really about the human city so for him to have to find it and try and navigate it to find his son was a more daunting task than he would care to take on. He would if he must, but he preferred not to. “Thank you very much ma’am.” He nodded his head at her. “I’ve missed seeing one of my sons for too long.” Of course this didn’t make up for not finding his other lost son, but at least he was doing something to interact with his family besides Hikari and her other brother. He smiled at Ni’awtu. “Thank you for leading me here. I would have been lost were it not for you.” In more ways than one.

Serenity smiled as she bowed her head to the stallion, glad she would be able to help him.
"It is not a problem, it is quite a pleasure to help someone reunite with their child. I know if it were me, I would hope for help locating one of my children. So it is really no trouble to help you find your way to your son and Dea and I are glad to help,"Serenity explained.
"You are welcome, Eri, I was really glad I could help. I know you probably would have had trouble finding your son without some help,"Ni told him quietly. She did not know she had helped him in more than one way. All she knew is he had needed help and she wanted to help the kind stallion.

Ni’watu was right the task of locating his son would have been very difficult but still she was even kind enough to keep his own emotional tumult between him and her without inviting her mother’s opinion was beyond angel like to him. It had been revealing enough to spill his soul to her, to have it dragged in front of another would have shamed him to silence and despair. He moved next to her and nudged her head very softly silently expressing his thanks for her quite. It was not intimate enough to be misunderstood to Serenity, at least he hoped it wasn’t. He looked back to the pink mare wondering when they would lead him to his son.

Serenity watched the interaction between her daughter and this stallion, noticing the way he nudged her. She figured it was just as a way of thanking her, but she couldn't shake the feeling there was something more to it. She shook it off for now, knowing the other would need somewhere to stay for the time being, until he could be taken to the city. She had a quick discussion with her chosen, before looking over to Eri.
"Dea has assured me that while you are here, you can stay in the guest stable we had built. You see, with my family expanding and Azrein passing through, Dea knew we would need more than one place. So our stable was expanded and then one for any guests we might have was also set up,"Serenity explained.
((Yep, but how far with our time skip?))

The stay with Ni’watu and her family was present and Eri found himself growing in his attraction to her. He kept himself to a gentleman behavior around her though out of respect for her. Though his eyes often could be noted following her form and he had a smile on his maw watching her. Soon enough they were on their way to find Zoy and his bonded in the city. While the meeting was brief Eri found his son alive and well. The meeting was brief but it was enough to make Eri’s soul feel a bit at peace. He knew in his soul he had to speak with Guinevere Sue. That could wait though. For now he was having a good time traveling in the company of Ni’watu. She made him smile and laugh. The road back was bright and filled with promise.

Ni'awtu was glad they had been able to lead him to his son, so he could make sure he was alright. Ni looked behind them to see Serenity with Dea riding on her back, keeping their distance. She could see from their faces that they were having one of their private conversations, ones bonded could have with one another. She wondered what they were discussing, hoping it was not about her. Course, her mother could just be making sure Dea was alright, considering Dea had insisted she come because she knew where to go.
"So, it seems we really were able to find your son, I figured Lady Dea would be able to help. She has a knack for that, probably due to being so connected to everyone in the Greater herds,"Ni spoke. She couldn't help but think how kind he was and could see why someone had fallen for him.

Eri nodded still feeling a bit odd traveling with a human. He had made sure he didn’t really spend to much time with Lady Dea. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her, but he had never really spoken with humans before. The city had been truly unnerving for him, had Ni’awtu not been there to smile and seemingly encourage him Eri doubted he would have had the courage to stay in the place long enough to reach his son. “Yes it was most fortunate that she was able to come along.” Though Eri still felt guilty about allowing a female so close to giving birth to come along. He looked back at Serenity but didn’t raise his eyes up enough to look the human in the face. His face spoke volumes. Looking back to Ni’watu quickly he wanted to ask if Serenity’s bonded would be alright but he didn’t know if it was polite to ask.

Ni'awtu looked over to see Eri looking back at her mother and Dea and could tell what he was thinking, at least she had a good idea.
"If it makes you feel any better, Mama made sure Lady Dea knew that if she was feeling tired or uncomfortable, that we would stop to let her rest. I am sure Lady Dea will be fine, Mama would know in a heartbeat if her bonded could not continue the journey,"Ni assured.
"Yes, Dea is definitely a tough one, she did not become part of the king's inner circle by looking cute. She may seem gentle, which she is, but she has an inner strength. Plus as my daughter explained, I would know anything was up before Dea even said anything,"Serenity explained, having heard the conversation.

Eri looked at Ni’awtu and blushed. He knew she should be right but a part of him still hated the idea. Serenity’s comments only drove home that feeling even if her words were that of reassurance. This human female was part of the king’s inner circle she should be protected and kept safe not gallivanting around the isle helping him navigate the city. He didn’t feel right letting her do this for him. Keeping his voice low so it wouldn’t carry to the females in back he made a proposition to Ni’awtu. She of all the others would know him best and what he could do. “How can I help repay what you, and your family, have done for me?” He looked at Ni with his eye full of question sincerely. Ni’awtu’s mother and her bonded had helped him find his son so that Eri could know his child was safe and well. Ni’awtu herself had helped him come to a conclusion that would have otherwise been years of pain and empty smiles. This family had done so much for him that he felt deeply indebted to them. He moved closer to her so that he could better hear her answer.

Ni'awtu could see Eri was thinking, so she was quiet as she continued to lead them home. When the stallion asked his question, the female looked thoughtful, trying to think of an answer to it. What could the other do, if he was determined to pay their family back?
"Hmmm, well I would tell you that you did not need to repay us, since we were happy to help, but I do not think you would listen to me on that. So if you really want to repay us, I suppose you could...hmmm, well what do you feel like doing? Some try to get a small token of their appreciation or some perform some act of gratitude,"Ni answered.

Honestly Eri hadn’t considered it much. He assumed Ni’awtu would have a task and set him on in. Eri thought deeply for a moment he disliked the idea of being yoked and put to task like a beast of burden, but the thought of seeing Ni’awtu smile as he helped her family kept him from shuddering at the idea. It might not be so bad a part of his mind whispered. “Honestly I had not considered it much. I am unable to bring a token of appreciation since I live on the land and from it. I can think of nothing that would interest and serve such a purpose. I would be honored to perform an act to show my thanks; though I know not what I could do. I hardly seem like the knight ready to rush off and rescue a damsel in distress and there do not appear to be any to rescue in any case.” He winked at her. “I noticed from the stables before that your family is large so I doubt offering to be hitched to a plow would serve much good. Would a period in service performing any series of tasks from patrol to carrying letters and visitors be acceptable? ” For Eri to offer to carry some strange human on his back was a larger deal than he was letting on.
(Neutral neutral.. I have to keep reminding myself he's not 'good' yet.)

Ni'awtu listened politely to Eri as he spoke his thoughts and she smiled softly at his comment about damsels in distress. At his suggestion of helping around their land, she had a thoughtful look in her eyes. She thought of how big their land was and how there were usually things that needed to be done. It probably wouldn't hurt to allow Eri to help with things for awhile, allowing her uncles time to patrol the area or Eri to patrol while they spent time with their mates.
"Yes, I believe that is a very acceptable idea indeed. There is always a lot to be done and although there are quite a few of us, having some help is definitely a wonderful idea,"Ni replied as calmly as she could, but it was definitely containing some suppressed excitement. She had been half temped to say he could stay forever, but figured that would be rude.

He smiled at Ni’awtu glad she liked the idea. He certainly liked the idea of spending more time around her. Still he should approve it with Serenity and her bonded. After all it was his gratitude to them as well which made him indebted to them. He nodded and dropped back in his pace so that he would fall abreast with Serenity. Matching her careful stride he kept his eyes on her while he spoke. “Ma’am. I am truly grateful for all you have done for me. You and your daughter have been more help than I ever could have asked for.” His eyes strayed to find the hands of Lady Dea. “and your bonded too of course.” He added not wanting to leave her out or make her feel invalidated. While he wanted to keep her safe Lady Dea’s contributions did not go unnoticed or unappreciated by Eri. “I have asked Ni’awtu if there was anything I could do to repay such charity. It was thought perhaps I could work for a period of time in your herd area.” Did Azrein that lived with a human like Serenity’s consider themselves a herd? He hopped so. “and perform patrols or acts of labor, would this be acceptable to you and yours?”

Ni'awtu watched as Eri went to speak to her mother and her ears tilted in that direction. She was usually not one to eavesdrop like this, but she was dying to know if her mother and Lady Dea would accept the offer. She had a spring in her step, thinking about how wonderful it would be to have Eri around, though she reminded herself she needed to keep things friendly, since she knew he had feelings for the mother of his children, at least some kind of feelings. She then reminded herself she needed to pay attention, so she knew what was going on.
Serenity seemed surprised as the young stallion dropped back to talk to her, but she listened to what he suggested. She tilted her head up to Dea, knowing this was a team decision. Dea and Serenity talked telepathically for a few moments, before Dea requested Serenity let her get down a moment. Serenity knelt down, allowing Dea to climb off, then watched her Bonded walk to Eri. Dea placed a gentle hand on his snout, then his neck that she gently stroked. Serenity looked at Ni and Ni turned her head, probably sensing the eyes on her. Serenity then passed a message on to Dea, who nodded her head with a smile, letting Serenity know she was one step ahead of her.
"Eri, you are more than welcome to help us with anything around that you feel must be done. It can be as long as you want, just know that you are welcome in our land,"Dea spoke gently, a musical sound to her voice.

Eri stopped went Serenity stopped not noticing Ni’awtu had been keeping an ear on them. His eyes were placed firmly on the ground while Lady Dea walked over to him. The gentle hand on his maw made him look up and slowly he took in her form while she spoke to him. When she finished he was looking at her neck. As his eyes found hers parts of the word fell away and words sprang into his mind unbidden. They tumbled from his lips out into the air as well as into a mind that was alien to him. “Where your body fails, I shall be your strength. When your judgment is clouded, I shall be your clarity. Whenever you feel broken and lost, and feel as if life holds no meaning, I will show you the wonder and joy it holds, and will heal and guide you back to my embrace. When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, I will carry you. I will love you, no matter your crimes, your decisions, or your fears. I will always accept you, and you shall never be alone again. Your despair will be met with my hope, and the fetters that bind you are no more. Your soul is mine, and my soul is yours, and we will never be apart, even in death. If even a hundred thousand years pass, I will always love you.” He realized what he said and took a step back surprised at himself. He felt his emotion travel along a strange path to met with his bonded. He knew she could feel what he could. There was love and a good wallop of confusion. “It appears I’ll be staying longer than I thought.”
