"I'll be warmer with some new shoes and socks, that's for sure," He smiled bashfully, pushing his glasses up his nose before tucking the napkin into his coat pocket for now. "Hopefully there'll be a cheap clothing place nearby. Even with the pay raise and bonuses, and I really HAVE been trying to keep collateral damage to a minimum, I doubt my balance is very large."

"I'm sure we can find something," Jordan said. "I kind of made a hole in the wall last week, but at least that wasn't too expensive. Harrison was pissed, though." He held the door for Jerry again on the way out.

"oooh, a hole in the wall, look at you, big man Sun damage," He chuckled, limping his way through the shop and out into the cold once more. "I... I feel good though. This is... this is wonderful we can do this," He murmured, and as they followed the directions on the napkin and grew closer to the shopping strip, he was humming Christmas Carols heartily.

Jordan laughed. "Heavy weapons," he said. "After a while you don't realize you're stronger than some of the objects around you." He listened to Jerry's humming, and after a moment, joined in, "Just like the ones I used to know ... "

As Jordan sang, Jerry's smile widened, and he gave a little laugh, "Oh, I hear that. I almost hope we get mugged just to see what would happen. Even with the crutch. Ahaha- Oh! I think that's your bookshop up ahead!" There were a lot more shops in the area the girl- Agnes he reminded himself- had directed him to, that was for sure. "Where do we start?"

Jordan snorted. "Give the guy a free shot, watch his face as it totally failed to give us problems. Oh, hey, you're right. Is that a thrift store up there?" he pointed out. "You can get some good deals on good clothes at those."

"What, tired of hanging out with a janitor?" He laughed, but it was a good idea. He just hoped that their combined 'super strength' would be enough to carry home everything they intended on buying. "ALright, alright. Seems like it's more in my budget than ah... most New York clothes places anyway. Ahaha." He gave a sigh. "THEN book shop and music shop alright? Toys are always more fun than clothes."

"There's no sense of style in a jumpsuit," Jordan said, laughing. "You gotta be able to put something together. Take a little pride in your style, dude. Look deep into your kokoro and find your very own look," he teased.
They crossed the street, and Jordan held the door open. "After you, sir," he said, and pretended to doff a hat.

"Yeah, I suppose," Although Jerry had to wonder just who he woud be dressing up for. Ladies were unimpressed by him, and he'd probably wear the jumpsuit during missions anyway... "I'm not even sure what I like to wear any more. My Gram always... sort of decided that for me and I went along with it." Somehow he just wasn't feeling the sweater vest combo any more. He did crack a weak smile at Jordan's 'hat tip', limping his way inside as he glanced around for any ideas. "Where do I even start." Shoes were over there, suits over on that wrack over there... a wrack of bright colors caught his attention at least, and he hobbled toward it to investigate the series of loud, interesting button-up shirts.

The next 45 minutes were spent discussing Jerry's sartorial choices.
" ... No."
"Not with that color, seriously, dude."
"No."
"Try that one."
"Harrison has one of those in the closet."
"No flipflops. Get something that won't fall apart in an hour."
The total ended up being surprisingly low, and the pile of clothes that ended up in Jerry's bag were mostly unobjectionable, with the exception of a couple of loud shirts (Jordan had figured - correctly - that the concession would give him more leeway to veto worse things). Jordan was also carrying a bag when they left, though he'd been pickier and his bag was therefore lighter. "That wasn't so bad, was it," he said cheerfully as they emerged from the store.

Jerry had changed into one of his new outfits in the back room before they left, including a new pair of work boots they thankfully had in his size. "No, just... arduous." He groaned but smiled, tying what bags he could to his crutch for easier hefting. "So I look more presentable now, I hope? I'm still.... sort of... finding myself I suppose. Fashion-wise. Ahahaha. Hopefully this is an improvement. Bookshop next?" He eyed the music shop down the road, a hopeful expression on his face like a kid promised a toy store after clothes shopping was complete.

"You gotta take care of yourself," Jordan advised as they headed towards the bookstore. "It's not even about anyone else. Just about you liking what you look like and not just throwing something on because it's easy." He laughed a little. "You're doing better, anyway. Bookstore next." He headed for the storefront in question, a determined glitter in his eye.

Jerry started to argue but... well. Clothes made the man. Jordan had a point. And he did feel a bit better with a new shirt (A dark, almost brown and not quite garish orange button-up and a pair of decent trousers) under his coat. "I suppose I should start thinking more about gifts for people." He eyed the other shops as they passed, mulling it over.

"I've got a few things in mind," Jordan said, a slightly secretive smile sneaking onto his face. He opened the bookstore's door. "Ahhh, the sweet, sweet smell of literature."

"I've never been a huge reader," Jerry mused as he followed Jordan in, loosening his scarf and unbuttoning his coat as the fresh warmth enveloped them. He eyed the journal section thoughtfully. "I liked some Ann McCaffery stuff when I was in high school. Meet you in the front when we're done or do you need help?"
