Roscoe glanced at the Gold as she rumbled her warning, it was understandable her anger, what mother wouldn't be protective and angry after such a travesty? He gave Kindra a sympathetic but encouraging smile from where he stood. N'mol and the others were out searching and they had brought candidates with them, surely they had found the eggs and maybe they were even impressing as they spoke. They would bring the hatchlings back and all would be well...or at least he could hope.

Turning his attention to the sands he saw the pretty marked blue impress. Still a green on the sands but she was being slow so he didn't bother watching her too closely. Instead he turned his attention to the eggs.

Cai

Cai could feel Gingko fluttering up above with the other flits, welcoming the hatchlings. A stern reminder to keep her distance was all the green needed to be on her best behavior.

Thinking over the Impression of the green, Cai reconsidered her initial impression. He hatchling hadn't seriously injured anyone, though she easily could have, and even in the tussle with her sister, she didn't injure the 'brown' green. It was an interesting thought at least, and that, coupled with her approval of the blue's quick Impression, served to keep her from fidgeting for the time being.

She'd watched Bereck as he crossed the sands of course, and again as he made the return trip. It was good to see him back on his feet. She'd not known him before, so where to others he may have looked frail and nothing like his former self, to her he was looking better every day. She was impressed. Riders were supposed to be resilient though. She glanced up towards Berath's unmistakable form among the stands.

Her own mother had been a rider... and Cai was surprised to realize she couldn't remember what color her mother rode. Having only seen the woman when she cared to visit the creche, Cai couldn't recall if she'd ever met her mother's dragon. ...No... She had. He was a blue. He'd never spoken to her though.
................................

~Remember your Hatching?~ Dizzian was all smiles as she watched the Hatching. Now that dragonets were on the Sands it was hard for her to dwell on the earlier tragedies.

~ No. ~ Courath thrummed along with the best of them, unperturbed at her lack of memory. She liked the energy of this clutch!

~ You were the first one out. Like you couldn't wait. I'd stood for 5 turns already and I couldn't believe it when you actually ran straight for me.~

~ There could be no one else for me Mine. I wouldn't have needed to look anywhere else. ~

.......................

Zarike silently urged each dragonet that hatched to seek out Orlina...without hurting her! He wanted his friend to Impress. Sure she wouldn't have as much time to spend with him and she wouldn't be a candidate at the same time as he but this was what she was here for! He knew he wanted to Impress the very first time he could! He couldn't stand the idea of having to wait for turns when he could be a rider RIGHT NOW.

And that was when the Damaged Eardrums Egg exploded.

One moment it was rocking vigorously back and forth, the next its structure collapsed as the dragonet shoved outward with all six limbs at once; seven if you include the tail. The creature inside was a blue; very definitely, vividly blue on some portions of his hide yet on others so dark as to be near black. Now free from its prison the dragonet got to his feet and bugled his greeting to the world loud enough to startle the 'Brown' hatchling over in Sunnath's section of the Sands; she spun around and snarled her displeasure at him, all orange eyes and flashing teeth. Giving himself a shake to try to get rid of egg goop and shards the raucous fellow warble-chirped an apology to his sibling, apparently not worried by her threat display, and looked around at the world with bright blue eyes.

Rather than heading over to the candidates to find his rider the blue turned his attention to the fragments of his egg that were scattered around his feet. Chupping and rumbling to himself he turned a couple of pieces over with a flick of one forefoot and cocked his head from side to side as if considering them, perhaps comparing them. After a few moments he appeared to reach a decision and picked up a large piece in his teeth, turned his head around and tucked the fragment under his wing; apparently he wanted to take the piece of his egg with him. Raising his head again the blue seemed to consider his next move for all of a heartbeat before trotting towards the remains of the Do Not Disturb Egg.

The 'Brown' green gave the loud new blue a long hard look; if he'd been closer to her rather than over in the other section of the Sands she might well have given him a cuff. As it was she didn't want to go all that way, not when she still needed to find hers.... And there she was; suddenly and perfectly.

Eyes lighting up the green dragonet bugled and sprang forward, knocking a few candidates over in her haste. In front of her chosen candidate, in front of Ahmenna she skidded to a halt in a spray of sand and then reared up to place her forepaws on the girl's chest.

Darsha remembered the Damaged Eardrums egg well from the touching, and she watched eagerly to see who would come out. The little blue was beautiful... and very loud! She wasn't sure what she had expected, but she laughed a little when he began picking up egg shells. What would he do with them?

A ways away from the new little blue, the Brown green made a dash, and Darsha was barely able to get out of the way. The dragonet clearly knew where she was going now. Had she...? Yes! She had found Hers! Another impression occurred, and Darsha smiled, though not quite as brightly as before. She didn't quite know how these things worked, but her confidence that she would impress on her first standing was waning slightly. But the young candidate bolstered herself back up again, straightened her tunic and threw her shoulders back. Everything would work out the way it was supposed to, she told herself. But it was a sentiment she couldn't entirely get behind... Darsha believed in making her own fate rather than trusting in some unknown power to do it for her.

[Carltis]

Three gone, and another hatched. Carltis peered over at the rather distant blue, willing it to stop doing whatever it was doing and approach and Impress. Impress to him. He remembered that egg, that sense of loud and that boldness. He could do fine with a blue like that, and he was a handsome looking one too. Trying not to feel nervous - be confident, be open! - Carltis trained his eyes on the blue, as if he could draw it to him with his very gaze.

----------

[Bereck & Berath]

Bereck grimaced slightly as candidates were knocked flying once more, but again it didn't look as though there were any injuries he needed to rush to treat; so far this hatching was rather uneventful in fact.

Oh.

Well.

If you didn't count the fact that seven eggs were missing, that was. How were those eggs doing, he wondered? He hoped the search parties had found them or, failing that, that the Revolution had brought candidates of their own. He didn't like to think of the ranks of that faction swelling, but he couldn't stand the idea of the alternative. Everything deserved a chance at life; it was sick the way dragons had been made, forced into finding a partner simply to survive beyond a few minutes.

Smiling faintly as the warmth of his bondmate's love drove out his unpleasant musings Bereck came to a halt beside Cai once more and turned his attention to the noisy young blue that was nosing around at egg fragments.

Exploding seemed to be the in thing for Hyweth's eggs.

Just as Damaged Eardrums arrived by the remains of the Do Not Disturb egg the Shivering egg gave one last shiver, tipped over and then fell apart as a network of harline cracks on the red shell that had been building since the humming began finally took their toll on it.

The dragon inside was a green, quite pale on her belly but with darker mottling on her back and a couple of dark stripe-like markings too and she all but bounced to her feet. A high pitched trill cried 'hello world!' and without further ado she bounded over to Damaged Eardrums to tackle her brother with a playful squeal.

Caught by surprise the smallish but stocky blue was bowled over. Giving a surprised yelp that turned quickly into a mock growl he grabbed hold of his sister and started to tussle with the slender green in the sand; for now at least he was content to stop his investigations to have a bit of a game!

Things settled again as another dragon, this a blue, hatched. It wasn't long. Two more candidates became riders. Wykla nodded to Feden and Ahmenna as they headed toward the feeding tables. "Congradulation riders." The sounds of scuffling brought her attention back to the sands. It wasn't candidates, but the dragons. A blue and green were rough housing on the sands. They weren't in her jurisdiction so Wykla said nothing. Eventually they'd stop on their own or their mothers would get them moving.

[Wen]
Wen watched Medura leave the sands with the hatchling in tone, giving the girl and the newly impressed green a small nod of congratulations. The first impression had been rather lively. He turned his attention back to the 'brown green' and watched the black flits, very handsome little things, flutter about the girl that had gotten knocked over when the angry green had charged.

He listened to Wykla scold the girl, not really approving of the assistance candidate masters ire. While not as strong as impressing a dragon, they were part of the flit's fair and he would expect at least a minor check for injuries from his small fair if injured. His flits were behaving, both keeping to the dragon perches.

The eggs had started moving. Damaged ear drums and the Shivering egg both were shaking, the red shivering egg all but bouncing in its urge to break through the shell. The swelling egg was what hatched, the warm egg being punched by a blue, yes a rather pale blue foot. Hopefully the little blue wasn't a lazy like his flit.

Wen blinked as the warning entered his mind and turned to look at Suunath less them amused. It was not his fault anything had happened to her eggs. He rather be searching for them, to bring them back to both mothers. He watched the blue interact with his 'elder' sister and then the little pale blue with the speckles impressed?

He didn't remember the boy from classes, arriving so late and the flits had ate most of his time. They were moving off together, so a other successful impression. Wen smiled, slightly, and gave them the same small nod he had awarded Medura.

He turned his attention back to the shaking eggs, leaving the 'brown green' to her sniffing. She was clearly meant for someone female. The Damaged ear drums egg exploded, something that seemed a bit common with Crimson Hyweth's clutch. A blue, vivid blue nearly to the point of black in some places and sentimental? Wen watched the loud hatchling study his shell and pick up a piece with a surprising delicate touch.

The green 'brown' hatchling didn't seem to please yet, the newly hatched blue seemed to give her a need to find hers. A girl, to, which he sort of expected. Wen looked over the newly hatched blue nosing the egg shell of his sister.

And another of Hyweth's eggs exploded in a shower of red shell pieces into a rather slender looking little green. Slender seemed to be a thing for the green's in Hyweth's clutch. The green instead of looking at the candidates started to tussle with her brother, knocking the stocky blue over in surprise. A low chuckle escaped him and Wen sat down on the sands, tired of standing at attention and slipped off his bother some sandals.

Ahmenna had watched as a blue burst out and went searching for his. A pale, ice blue it seemed with spots all over. Rather a cute fellow. And it didn't seem too long before he had found his rider. First he crooned to the "brown" green that was still pushing and bullying her way through the girls. Ahmenna personally approved. This girl was going to be stuck with someone for the rest of their lives. She would be picky as well.

Arms crossed, she laughed as another blue hatched and took up a piece of its shell. He started moving just as the green pushed and knocked her way through the girls. Suddenly, it was like a pressure in her head that Ahmenna knew would never go away.

Unexpected tears streamed down Ahmenna's cheeks and she bent down to the green with wondrous markings and a strong personality. "Phiroth. You are mine, aren't ya? Okay, okay. We can go and get you something to eat. But you have to keep up."

Oh. Oh Faranth!

Humming. And excited shouts.

Humming. From dragons.

Kodi nearly tripped over her feet as she quickly made her way to the Hatching Sands, changing as swiftly as possible without crashing to the floor. Something she considered quite the success! There was a burning glee in her veins that it was finally happening! But... there hadn't been any word said about the missing eggs. Had there? It was so sad and hard to believe that someoene - even if they were Revolutionaries - would steal eggs!

Annnd now was not the time to think on that. Not with them all being ushered onto the Sands. Kodi almost forgot to bow to each mother in her excitement, thankfully being behind someone that hadn't forgotten.

She slunk over to the girls side, taking her place among them. But she could hardly stand still, shifting her weight from foot to foot and raising on her toes to peer around others. Were there any hatchlings yet? That question was answered fairly quickly as not one but two Greens appeared! And shells were they feisty things! Squeaking, Kodi jumped out of the way quickly as one of the Greens made her own pathway through the Candidates. And then more squeaking as the two charged one another. That poor girl was stuck between them too! Except... except she looked happy. And one of the Greens was- OH! Impression! Was that how it worked?

"Congrats." Kodi said quietly to Medura, though she didn't know the girl at all.

Ahhhh that blue was socuteohFaranth! Kodi was quite happy to see him find his boy quite quickly compared to the first Green! She had a stupid grin on her face watching, though Suunath's warning made her flinch and stick closer to the other girls around her. Then she jumped (again) when the newest hatchling bugled. Ooooh she had not been expecting that!

Roscoe watched impassively as the hatchlings impressed, the sight of two of them playing put a smile on his face though and he couldn't help but chuckle a little bit before turning his gaze back towards the unhatched eggs. Surely something out there had to be a higher ranking color, it just had to be! Before his thoughts could go any further however a flash of movement in the candidate's line caught his attention - was that boy sitting down? Was he insane? Had he not seen the way the girls had been barreled through and flung about not once..but twice? There was no way he was going to get out of the way in time sitting down like that.

Oh well..not really his problem.

[Rochelle]

Right, so, cutest sharding blue ever. ever. Rochelle snickered behind her hand when the two tried to tussle as if they were canine pups. He looked quite fit, stocky bright thing he was, and almost fabulous enough to consider her opinion on maledragons.

Everyone else could be open and hopeful, not her fault her eyes locked onto the green.

[Wen]
Judging by the looks he was getting from his fellow candidate, he should probably stand back up. Wen let out a deep breath and shifted, standing smoothly and pulled his sandals close with his toes. He really didn't want to put them back on. Sandals were not proper guard wear.

Renio

Sweet, adorable tumbling baby dragons! Renio gave a very non-manly squeal at the sight. "How cuuute! I bet those two will be fun to watch grow up," he said to no one in particular, now that his new friend had Impressed and was off the Sands. Mentally, he willed the adorable blue to look his way. He could have a dragon like that! A playful, rambunctious dragon with whom many adventures would be had? Yes! But he knew he couldn't force the dragon to make his decision, and instead watched and waited like so many others on the sands.

Zifea

The green who'd been sniffing her had Impressed to someone else. Though Zifea had known all along the dragon hadn't been meant for her, she still felt a pang of disappointment as the dragon wandered over to the lucky girl. Someone who wasn't her. Maybe she wanted a dragon more than she realized? She'd never been allowed to really consider the possibility before, but now that she was here - on the sands and surrounded by eggs and hatchlings - she wanted a dragon very much!

She kept quiet, as always, and instead turned her eyes to the tussling blue and green. Quite different from the two greens earlier. It was amazing how different their personalities were even freshly hatched.

After a bit more tussling Damaged Eardrums and Shivering broke apart amicably; the green gave her brother's tail a last playful n**, and he swiped at her lightly in return. Finished with this game Shivering trilled and bounded away, now making for the ranks of candidates. Was hers here? She bounced up to Rochelle with bright eager eyes, but skidded to a halt and bounded onward just short of her; nope, not you! Here somewhere though! Oh, was it Carltis? She launched herself at him, claws kept carefully in, and succeeded in knocking the muscular young man to the ground. Standing with her forefeet on his chest and her back feet either side of him she sniffed at the dazed candidate and then licked his face before bounding off once more; not you either friend!

Carltis groaned and pushed himself into a sitting position. "And what the shaff was that for?" he grumbled under his breath as he picked himself back up and checked to make sure that he really was just bruised, not disembowelled.

Damaged Eardrums meanwhile retrieved his egg shard and turned not towards the candidates, but back towards the other unhatched eggs of Hyweth's clutch. He came to a halt before the rather tiny Look Before You Leap egg and lowering his muzzle the brightly marked dragonet snuffed at his sibling. Cocking his head he circled around it a few times before giving it a nudge with his muzzle. The spotted egg remained motionless. He nudged it again. Still nothing. He snorted, shook his head, raised a paw and gave the shell a really good smack, causing the Look Before You Leap to roll over a couple of times. Looking rather pleased with himself he trotted over to its new resting place... but still the red egg didn’t move. The active blue made a grumbling noise of disapproval, reared up on his hind legs and then brought his forefeet down on top of the egg with great force leaving behind a network of cracks. Putting his nose to the cracks he let out another earsplitting bugle, which probably roughly translated to ‘come on!’.

Perhaps noticed by most in the chaos of two very active dragons, the rather plain Opportune Moment egg over in Sunnath's clutch had started to crack. As Damaged Eardrums harassed the Look Before You Leap egg, Opportune Moment broke open without fuss or noise and a bright-hided green stepped out. Stepping away from the shards of her shell she stretched slowly and then lay down on her belly in the sand with her forepaws crossed over one another. Head raised she scanned the crowds looking down upon her, and the candidates waiting for her... and the other green bouncing around all over the place. She was not in a huge hurry. She would wait, for now, and watch.
