The foam that covered the crabs mouth became think again as it tried to snip at the both of them. It has skills. The horrific idea that it could understand all they were saying made Leon feel weak in the knees. "Under the sea, where nobody can smell the crap they float around in." With the tight guard finally down, and the claw extended farther than ever, it was a chance. The sound of scraping filled the air and a thump of one detached claw hit the ground. feebly trying to n** at their toes. "One down!"  HP: 39/50 DMG: 15 CHRG: 0/3 BC Used BOSS 1 HP: 14/50

Melvin was momentarily left just staring as a claw fell off. Note to self, having Leon on his team was a very good idea in the future. It was best to make sure he was on good terms with the man to be able to team with him when times got hard in battle.
Picking his jaw off the floor, he went back from distracting the one claw still swinging about.

Leon didn't pay much mind at the limb that was wiggling around on the floor, the claw was soon kicked aside like litter. The crab monster took it all in its shadowy stride, already using its other claw to try and do the same to its enemies.
"Stop gawking, we aren't safe yet!" Leon said in a snippy tone and continued his efforts on the other side.
He was glad Nid finally dropped the subject on eating the damn thing once it went through it.

"I wasn't gawking!" Melvin totally was, and he went back to trying to avoid the claw but at the same time trying to keep it swinging away from Leon and more towards him - which he never liked but hoped it would help in killing it. He noticed he was used for bait more often than not.

Leon knew that after this, he was not going to want seafood or fish for a very long time. "If you say so. dammit why won't this thing give up?" the swinging was leaving his arms tired and sore. The chainsaw while strong, only seemed to make a few nicks and cuts on the crabs shell, it was only when he found a joint in it that made it more effective in amputating.

"Would you give you if you were said you were going to be dipped in button?" Think on that, Leon. Melvin continued to distract the crab, seeing it titter and sway, it's legs cracking, one claw trying to get away from the saw yet at the same time showing nicks and cracks throughout. It wouldn't be long.

Melvin had tkaen to talking dirty with the crab. It was just funny seeing him try and torture the crab with the idea of being on Paula Dean's kitchen and being drowned in butter. "Hurry up and die so I can put this chainsaw the hell down!."

"Bite me Melvin." getting real tired of your s**t there four eyes. Leon gave the guy a heated glare when the crab was cleaved in two and the shadows began to dissipate into the air of the labyrinth. "When we get to use the portals, I'm taking out my frustration at Red lobster."

Melvin took no offense, actually rather pleased by Leon's agitation, before he stepped back as the Crab fell, shaking the hallway before it dissolved. There went taking a sample.
"When portals open, eating anywhere than that cafeteria is on the top of my list." Mexican and Indian food was preferred other than seafood unless it was cajun.
"Alright. Time for that maze. Keep close." He said, and headed onward with a sense of confidence that lead him through the maze easily.

"See you actually eat that slop they serve there." Leon mentioned pointedly as he went about the task of cleaning up the chainsaw. Nid was a messy eater afterall.
"I just take their raw supplies and cook from that, consider it a tip from me to you." he finished, following behind the fellow trainee by a few steps behind.
Keep close didn't mean to violate the poor gunner backside. "What do you think happened to that floor we fell from? It ticked his curiouslty, and after that first incident, he didn't want to repeat it and test the pendant's ability again.

"That's a nice tip - if you can cook." Melvin did not do well in the kitchen and usually just bought something to eat or find something with very easy instructions. He never thought of himself as the cooking, baking type, and usually never bothered to attempt it.
"I don't know. Jerry and I were at another temple and it always seemed to change. I think this one probably is the same. I think it's like the Weeping Forest. A area that's absorbed Fear and changes due to absorbing it. Like having a mind of it's own." He looked around, trying to see his way through the dim light.

"I'm sure you can at the very least toast a piece of bread and put butter on it." At least, he hoped Melvin could do that much, cooking didn't always have to be fancy, just edible.

"You expect me to live on toast every day?" He said, looking back at Leon. "I'd rather just pick something up and have it done anyways." Cooking was time consuming, and he didn't think his heart was in it the way other cooks said it should be.
It was then that something clicked, and a wall shot up, dividing Leon and Melvin and enclosing Melvin in a small box. Great. He was trapped and there didn't seem to be a way out.
It was then that he noticed the floor was rising but the ceiling wasn't. Oh crap. He was going to get crushed. He gripped his pendant before calling out. "I'm stuck. Head on." He called through the thick, stone walls. Maybe Leon would hear him or maybe not. Who knew?
He blinked out of there before he was crushed.

Leon could only stare at Melvin like a fish out of water. "Toast, or the slop they served in the cafe?" He thought he made his point quite clearly.
All too soon, the truth about the building being alive came true when a wall shot out to separate them, and Melvin said to move on before a slam deafened everything else. "Melvin? Dammit!" he roared, the one person who had an informed opinion on this place and they were out for the count.
the dim hallway didn't care, nor did it have pity when he felt the sudden schwing of metal out from the floor and snag on his arm. the shield snapped into place and he could hear if crack, the pale green of it crack and shatter from the prolonged contact.
Melvin was right, and he was more worried for his safety more than ever.
