More cuts. At this point, his team would be swiss cheese before they even found the stupid chalice. s**t, what to do? what to do?

“H-hang in there, everyone!” Molly tried to reassure, and paused as Dakota called out to her. Incredibly gullible and so unsuspecting, Molly didn’t think anything of it. She slowed to let others pass her and for Dakota to catch up, turning around to face the Moon Hunter.
“Um…feel the power of what, Dakota?” She asked curiously.

An audible electronic beeping noise was coming from the headset followed by some sort of musical jangle. "What???" Mark pretty much screamed into the headset, "I lost AGAIN?"
There was more strange cursing and raging in the background and what was probably Mark fighting a game controller (and judging by the strangled noises, the game controller winning), followed by a hefty pause, headset fumbling, silence, and then heavy breathing. "So like, did you guys locate the stairs yet, the stairs of infinite beauty or sommat that's supposed to contain the artifact?"
There was a loud clack for a second at the other end of the set. "Aw man guys, you're still at the beginning, what were you even doing? It's okay though man, I know a shortcut. Okay, take a left- no wait- two lefts- then you should see a tunnel. Take the tunnel, and look for the statue of Aprodite and Hephaestus - you can't miss it it's like the statue of this good lookin chick with this reall ugly dude. Then, round the corner - and go down into the tunnel. At the far end you should see the stairs- please tell me you see the stairs."
The good news was, after some major confusion at Mark's instructions, after finding the statue, which really was something like three feet away from Dakota, there were indeed a set of stairs.
Upside down.
The good news however, was the very tip of them glowed softly, what suspiciously looked like a cup-shaped artifact dangling at the long end of an upsidedown archway.

Dakota was well on to his way of feeling up molly when Mark's voice broke through the headset. A loud "AWWWWWWWW MAN REALLY" and Dakota's hands dropped from the volumpitious layered chest of the mist.
"We were going to ask you the same thing. Why do you keep losing Mark?" Dakota shook his head, god. Why for one second did he think he could handle Mark. Wait. Boobs. Fellow enterpurer of boobs. Boobs.
Okay game face.
"two lefts..." Dakota took point and then realized something. The statue wasn't even that far away. "next time just tell us its right in front of us..." He mumbled. "Dude. Dude!" He stared up in awe at the stairs, the statue, the stairs, statue. "DAMN APHRODITE HAD IT GOING ON." REALLY DAKOTA.
"OKAY okay. Game plan. Kostya still with Molly, Molly you on look out and research or whatever. Check out the statue, see if anything is going on there. Otto, Marcus...you guys with me. like this....-"
Dakota postioned Marcus on the ground and then grinned. "Thanks for the boost for us bro!" Grinning, he turned to Otto and flipped him on to his shoulders. "Okay Otto. REACH MY BROTHER, TO THE STAIRWAY OF HEAVEN!!!"

Due to some unease and hesitation, the Russian trailed behind the group, lips in his traditional & perpetual frown. The area was dark, so dark, and just when his eyes were adjusting, a beacon of light shined in the distance. Kostya edged closer, but the light that washed over him was far too powerful-- it scorched his skin, raising red welts.
Syntax, in his mind, merely produced an image:

Konstantin inched along, his skin still sore from the burning of the light. He still wasn't sure what it had been, and that unnerved him.
This mission gave him the worst feeling.
He could hear the chatter of the others ahead, as well as Mark chittering in his ear like an excitable puppy. Huff.
The hissing snuck up on him, startling in how fast it got louder and--
Arrows pierced Kostya's shield. He fell to a knee, cursing in his native tongue. Nope, nope, nope. Time to run out of this place.

Marcus knew that this day would come. It was in many ways, inevitable. They had been apart too long, and now Marcus was watching Dakota rise up from under him. So long he’d been on top, the one in charge. But then his control slipped. He’d started giving Dakota a little more control. A little more leeway. A little more freedom. So what was happening was natural really. Dakota was bigger than him. Longer. He could reach the places that Marcus just couldn’t.
Marcus didn’t fight Dakota, he simply bent over, ready for him. There wasn’t pain as he got on top, or even as Dakota was joined by Otto. Only a building pressure. Groaning as his arms and legs strained under them, Marcus tried to look up but it was at the wrong angle, he couldn’t see them. Still, it wasn’t the worst, being the bottom. He could deal with it. He was almost made for it even. And if he had to- Marcus kept thinking. It was for Dakota. It was Dakota’s moment to prove he could do it.
And so it was that Marcus let Dakota, (and Otto), top him just this once but after? “Next time I’m on top.” His grumble was half hearted. After all, Dakota was younger, Marcus had to remember he couldn’t break the young man, no matter how strong he was. Perhaps this was a sign.
They would just have to learn to switch for each other.

Molly wasn’t sure why Dakota’s hands were inching closer to her chest with each passing moment. Maybe her scarf was messed up and he wanted to check it? She winced as Mark’s voice exploded in the head set, and as Dakota pulled away, she looked down and checked her scarf. Fluffing it up, she then turned to focus on what was at hand. Following after the group, Molly’s eyes widened as they came across the upside down area. “It’s like Alice in Wonderland…” She murmured more to herself, and watched as Dakota, Marcus, and Otto worked together. She looked rather lost at Dakota’s instructions to her about researching. What was she researching…? The statue? Okay… She beamed over at Kostya, and then pointed at the statue. “What do you think of it…?” She then cupped her cheeks with her hands and waited with a dopey smile on her face.

Even though, in theory, Otto was closest to the artifact of holy wonder and breastery, the item, despite being almost in the Death Hunter's grasp, would simply not come apart from the staircase. As in it was stuck. Firmly.
"... And remember!" Mark's voice came belatedly from the headset, "Only a virgin can pry the beautiful chalice off its holy location. A true virgin!"

Otto couldn't get it free, no matter how much he pulled. Mark's voice rang through, and Otto just had to smirk. "Oops~ I don't qualify. Lemme down, Dakota! Git the virgin Russian up here!"

Molly was distracted from hearing more accent as her mother instincts kicked in.
Her head swiveled to stare at Otto, and her mouth dropped, horrified as her eyes went wide. “…OTTO!?” She wailed, dismayed. “Y…you’re not…? You…didn’t save yourself for…marriage?” Her voice was hushed, and she seemed to be mourning his innocence for a moment before she asked, very concerned.
“You used protection though, right?”

Having caught up to the group, Konstantin was perplexed by what he saw. A statue of a gorgeous woman with a homely man, and what appeared to be an upside-down staircase.
Marcus, Otto, and Dakota were in the process of turning themselves into a human totem pole.
"Hm?" he said, turning to look at Molly. "Is traditional, da? Like Mark say. Of mythological, Greek history, vhere--"
Startled, Kostya turned to look at the tiny blond atop Dakota's shoulders who had mentioned a Russian. Presumably, that was him. The brunet turned back to Molly, looking apologetic.
"Very sorry, villl continue another time, da?"
And then he trekked over to the statue, ignoring the exchange about virginity and protection. Kostya stood next to Dakota, hands in his pockets.
"Vell? Are going to let up? So can grab artifact...?"

Dakota huffed a breath as Otto crawled his way down.
And gave a look at Molly.
"jesus Molly..." He wheezed before tapping Marcus, his bottom man. Well...Always his bottom man. With Otto gone, it was now time for kostya to rise up and place himself as top of the totem pole. Top of the pile. Top of the moon hunters.
The virgin who would top.
"Heads up Marcus, Kostya is coming up." Dakota held his hand out for the russian and grinned, "Come on up brother, and let's get us a artifact."
