Using the counter as a brace, knife set to the side while her legs wobbled just a bit from impact, Minnie chuckled in an attempt to override that insto-embarrassment. "Ahaha," Seeing a familiar face made her turn a little less red than usual, some what of a relief smile forming. "Oh, Eva hey...It's alright!" Minnie recalled the first time meeting the young woman and all the others who had awoken with them. She wasn't sure if Eva would remember her, but in that moment it didn't seem pertinent that she did. "Are you okay?"
Fortunately, it seemed like no harm had been done. So, Minnie looked to the pile of chopped goods, contemplating the offer before shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah, definitely. Not doing much over here anyway!" She would much rather be helping out in a more productive way. The pile would only get bigger if she stuck around, and who knows if any of it would get used.
Wiping off her hands with a towel, she gave the kitchen a once over before continuing. "Alright then, so what kind of pie do you want to make??" On the outside, Minerva looked pretty serious about the task at hand. And she was! But on the inside, Minnie was also really fricken excited to be doing some normal s**t. Cooking beat fighting monsters right now...

Eva definitely recognized the other young woman's face, but her name, hmm. She stared at Minerva for a few seconds, her brows furrowed in concentration. Name, name...Ah! "Minerva! Right?" Looking sheepish, she lifted a hand to rub the back of her head, "I'm really sorry--I'm terrible with putting names to faces."
Eva grinned when she agreed to help. It made her feel a little more reassured to know that there would be another pair of eyes and hands working on this pie with her--this would be the first time that she made one herself without the guidance of her mother, after all. "Great, thank you! And well..." She turned to eye all the cans of preserved food, lips twisting into a wry smile, "I was thinking pumpkin pie? Melvin said that we probably have canned pumpkin and condensed milk, and I'm sure we can do something about the crust."

"Sounds good to me," Jordan replied. He grinned. "And now, because I can't cook for beans, I'll get out of the way." Not being underfoot when something was being arranged was just as important as being part of the preparations. He paused, flicking a look at where his guys were setting up tables and chairs; they seemed to have it decently well under control. He headed over towards where Jerry was busying himself with the napkins instead. They hadn't had a normal - well, relatively normal - conversation for a while, and he felt bad about that. "Hey," he said in greeting. "Need a hand with that?"

Jerry glanced up stiffly at the sudden familiar voice, his face flushing a bit, "Oh! Ah, sure! Do you know how to make napkin turkeys?" He gestured to the ones he had folded already. "We should think about other things to decorate too-" He had seen the pile of turkeys in Hazel's arms, but until she made her way over he wasn't sure what they could add. "It's a shame we don't have orange and brown streamers. Or like... those decorating fancy corns. We need SOMETHING for the center of the tables."

"... Jerry?" She peered over towards the bean pole still looking unstable as she remembered. Her eyes squinted at him with a bit of distrust then leaned over to Melvin to whisper loudly at him, "You know he's a necromancer right?" finger pointing at the sun hunter. "This one time, I saw him raise a dead guy with his ukelele, and then the dead guy punched his head a few times and then the dead guy kissed my cheek. True story." She didn't really know where she was going with that, but one thing is for certain, Hazel truly believed it. The truth may have been a tiny bit skewed, but to her, it was 100% true.
Looking back at Jerry again, she managed to catch a glimpse of his hand going back into his butt pocket. Begrudgingly, she approached the sun hunter with an awkward smile and an arm full of crumpled foot turkeys. "Hey," she said with a short tone of voice then promptly dropping all of her paper turkeys on Jerry's workstation. "How can I help ya?"
Hazel was never much of an artist. Her crafting skills always seems to come out charmingly crude... maybe.

"No, but I'm sure I could learn," Jordan said cheerfully. "It's possible that the quartermaster has crepe paper stashed somewhere. That guy has the weirdest stuff."
He looked up as Hazel dumped an armful of hand turkeys on the table. ... Foot turkeys? That wasn't ... how he recalled ... He swallowed a laugh and said, "Very nice."

"The quartermaster!! That's a great idea! Or we could see if we can find any flowers or tall grass and stuff outside to turn into centerpieces- Ah! Hi, Hazel! Those are... er... very creative!" He lifted one foot turkey up with a polite smile. "If someone has tape, we could put these all along the walls at least!" He was looking better, at least, since Jordan last spoke to him. Cleaner shaven at least. "Do you know anything about centerpiece making?" He beamed at the frizzy-haired Moon. "Or do you have any markers or anything?"

Hazel stared at the guy who just complimented her foot turkeys. "Who's that?" she asked bluntly and eyeballed him from head to toe and back up again. Suddenly thrusted a flat hand at the guy, "I'm Hazel. I'm not a necromancer."
Turning back to Jerry, she didn't realize they were so low on supplies. Not even tape? That's one of the most important things to have for decoration! Digging into her enormous, overfilled bag that was slung over her shoulder, she only managed to dig out a box of band-aids, "I don't have tape, but we can use these. OH, or these..." and picked out a small handful of paper clips from her hair. "If we need center pieces, I have these small jars we can fill them up with," Hazel then pulled out some plain, empty jars that were the size of her dinky hand. "I want these back though."

Jordan shook Hazel's hand firmly. "I'm Jordan," he answered. "I never assume anyone is a necromancer. It seems an impolite kind of thing to assume."
He blinked as she fished things out of her hair. Did she use her hair like a pocket? That was unusual. Convenient, maybe, but the risk of losing something in it would be disconcerting. At least, he'd find it disconcerting. "We could see if there's dried corn or beans in the kitchen to put in the jars," he suggested.

"Hey, Jordan." returning the firm handshake then looked at Jerry at the corner of her eye, "Well... he is. I've seen him raise a dead guy." And with that, she dropped the subject just as quickly as she introduced herself.
"That's a fun idea. OR we could put these foot turkeys in them!" Hazel gently set a jar down on the table, then began to cram a foot turkey into it. It didn't really fit properly with some of it rolling into itself and the top half of the foot just stuck out of the small jar very awkwardly. "Perfect!" putting her fists on her hips like she was so proud. "It's like a turkey in a pot and he's trying to get out but he can't because he's too fat and then his family-" Hazel picked up a couple of other foot turkeys she made, "-watches him as he is being cooked, and they are like 'Noooo! Turkdaddy!' Blub blub blub~" then made some boiling sounds to accompany the turkey in the jar, "and then he's like 'Save me! Ahhhh!' Blub blub blub~"
She was in her own little world now...

"Oh! Yeah, Jordan, this is Hazel, she's Mooned for me before!" Back when Sasha and Wash and Jordan and the rest had all been kidnapped, but there was no need to digress t that. This was supposed to be a HAPPY occasion. Thankfulness for what you have and all that. "Those jars are perfect! If we can find some dry corn like you said it could hold up some flowers nicely! I can run to the quartermaster and see what I can scrounge up if you guys want to finish up these napkins! Here, its' easy-" He pulled out a fresh napkin, and slowly began to fold it. Tweak a beak here, twist it into a neck, fluff out a tail- voila!! "Where did you find the markers for those?" Jerry pointed to the foot turkeys again with an enthusiastic smile.
As Hazel got playing with her turkeys, he couldn't help but giggle, but as her necromancer comment finally sank in, he frowned, "Wait... Necro...What?"

Jordan stared at Hazel for a few moments, then picked up a napkin and followed along with Jerry's instructions. "I think I can manage that," he said. Hazel seemed to be doing just fine on her own, in a manner of speaking. He absolutely wasn't commenting on the necromancer thing any further. Nope.

"-and then he died, and his family mourned him." Hazel's face went from a disturbing happy to a sudden kicked-puppy face. She gave a sigh and put her little play things down.
"The markers?" Jerry had distracted her from herself, "I used these." Casually pulling out a box of markers with a random person's name on it, "I got it from someone's office... They said I could borrow it." Actually she just took it from their desk. Who's ever it was.
The napkin turkeys looked fun to do. Hazel grabby-hand at the napkin and tried to fold it like how Jerry taught them. It wasn't the best looking, but it could hold its shape at least.
"So, Jordan... Tell me about yourself."

Jerry gleefully helped himself to a red marker to give the finished napkin-turkeys proper red little gobbles on their necks.
Granted, it just made the little paper birds look like their throats were cut but no one ever said he was the most artistic.

"Er," Jordan said, and folded another napkin turkey. "Not much to tell, really. Sun division, student before I arrived here, pretty boring all in all. You?"
Ferros snickered in the back of his head, and got a mental eyeroll in response.
