Damien wasn't exactly enjoy the auction now. being in the back and away from the main hall wasn't exactly thrilling. Someone was even bored to death, that they began playing with some brightly colored cube for jack's sake. The pup let out a sigh and rolled in eyes in his seat as the auction continued on.

And it wasn't that hard to hear when Xiu went up for auction. green tipped eyes swiveled with curiosity as they introduced her and her strange consumption of cherries to keep her hair so pink. "I never would have guessed." he mentioned dryly as he took a mental note to go cherry picking for the ghoul one day. Phos was overjoyed with that note.

Until the bid of ten seeds came in from behind the curtain and made the boil freeze in place. That voice was unmistakable. "What the hell was the skin walker doing here, after vanishing for Jack knows how long?" he roared from his seat, launching himself from the chair and knocking it over in a clatter.

THIS WOULD NOT STAND. His mind was overwhelmed with the indecent boil and Xiu and what it could mean, before shaking more forcefully than if there was water on him. no no no.

He didn't care that he was in the back, or if he was going up for auction later. "YOU WILL NOT WIN NUK!" the green eared boil yelled as he came out from backstage and into the main hall of the gym. "YOU HEAR ME?!" he yelled again as he puffed up and bristled at the sight of the changeling beast. and threw down his own bid."20 Seeds on Xiu!"

DAMIEN IS BIDDING 20 SEEDS ON XIU!

Wow, the ghoul smiled back! Eisheth was delighted: now she has to overbid this gnarly boil, who was trying to steal the new Conquest-type ghoul under her nose!

"You have wonderful hair!", she shouted at Xiu. "What kind of shampoo do you use?" - this question, asked by a bald person, sounded quite weird, but Eisheth could not care less.

She also decided to bid on Mmur... just in case. She didn't want to end up winning nothing, and some kind of plan B always would be nice.

At some point, Amarus became hungry, and she wandered into the cafeteria not realizing (somehow, where the jack had she been hiding?) that it would be full of, um, a student auction. Whatever that was.

"How does one... auction an individual," she wondered, baffled by this turn of events. And curious. So curious. Was it like hiring a mercenary? How did this work? She made it in time for the tail end of introductions, equally confused by those. One of them was supposedly made entirely of yogurt? She would have to inquire about that.

And one of them... was bidding on all of the individuals. Clearly, if they were important enough to be bid on by one of their own members, Amarus was interested in bidding as well. Although she did not take Kiwi up on her-- his challenge. It was, in fact, heinously apparent Kiwi was not a ghoul, and Amarus could hardly hold that outburst against him. She would likely have asserted her own dominance if presented with the same-- no, actually, she hadn't. During Prom, it had become widely accepted that she was a "trap," whatever that meant, which she'd still yet to have explained to her. Thanks guys.

Anyway, she had learned that if she appeared too often around one individual in a short period of time it would come across as stalking, so she avoided bidding on Xiu-- though she did wave at the ghoul, shyly.

Speaking as decisively as possible, she announced: "Fifteen to the strange one who has bid on himself! ... and on everyone else-- Mmur?" Then, thinking again, she added, "And five to the silent one, Billy?" Knowing she could only win one, even if she won at all, she was still trying, for some reason.

Also this was kind of fun.

ANNA IS BIDDING 20 SEEDS ON AYMET!

"Hey!" Anna protested as somebody outbid her. Quickly, she counted through the allowance she'd been given. "I bid 20 seeds on that boil!!" she proclaimed again, loudly. And pointing. Again.

A look of determination and stubbornness came over her. She would have that boil. What she would do with him once she had him she wasn't sure, but... still!

CALDER IS BIDDING 10 SEEDS ON BILLY!

Calder was in the back, having slipped in and settled down in the back to watch the auction. He remembered being in one a year or so back and being very flustered and nervous. Now that he was older, he had more interest.

Smiling, he expected just to watch those around him get matched up with bidding, but then a particularly handsome boil went up and he perked.

Before he knew it, he was standing. "10 Seeds on the handsome boil in the kilt." Calder was rather shocked by his sudden bid, but just staring at that set of horns had him begging to touch them. So what if he was using Barth's seeds to play around. He did have to get him back for playing with Lilith after all.

He settled back in his seat.

Ricar had taken to looking around for snacks or some sort of food. What kind of monster would he be if he couldn't find them in the cafeteria...?

He quickly got distracted in his task as he had a hard time tuning out all the yelling. It was making him nervous being in this crowded room so he flip-flopped between being hungry and agitated at the noise. He didn't like this mix of uncomfortable feelings one bit.

He perked up though when he heard an unknown bidder shout out the name of the horseman he had bid on.

Male? That short, fragile, FEMALE looking thing? He whirled around to try and get another look at Kiwi. Surely his first impressions couldn't be that far off? With too many people crowding the table and shouting out numbers, he decided the excitement was too much for him. He made for a quick exit. Auctions could be dangerous in more ways then one and "Kiwi" had suddenly become a little less appealing.

To Ricar, being outside was more important than buying a guide right now.

Nuk had heard the sound of the chair clattering to the floor, but to be perfectly honest, he'd ignored it. The punk hadn't hit him with it, so he really didn't give a jack why the idiot had knocked it over. It could have been for any number of reasons. What DID concern him was the fact that some horsemen across the room had shouted out a bid on Xiu not a few moments after he had. At the moment, that was infinitely more important than some stupid chair.

Normally, the skinwalker would have been relieved that someone else had bidded on the gentle dream-eating-or-something-like-that ghoul. Xiu's sweetness was legendary, and he had no doubt that he would adore her if he ever spoke with her, but that in itself was part of the problem. He himself was not a nice guy. He wasn't a gentleman, he wasn't thoughtful or considerate, and considering the fact that he spent a great deal of his time trying really hard to make other students (not ghouls, that never ended well for him,) miserable, he wasn't even an OK guy. So the idea of having such a kindly ghoul looking to him even for a conversation, much less 'owning' her for a day, was ... awkward. For all the reasons that Demi was afraid of. A guy in his position, a 'guy like him,' should have been thrilled for the chance to harass someone so undoubtedly pure as Xiu. Except that was the one redeemable aspect of the skinwalker -- he just could not take advantage or be mean to ghouls. So really, for half a second, he was relieved. Someone else would spend the day with Xiu, someone nicer.

That relief, however, was short lived. Because as soon as he looked around to check out who it was had bidded on her, Nukpana's eyes fell upon the familiar canid student. Immediately, the monster's eyebrows lifted in surprise, furrowing again in complete bafflement as Damien started yelling at him. His already folded arms tightened in irritation as his long-time 'rival'*** bristled at him, scowling and puffing up in return.

"You wanna bet, puppy?"

Not even glancing at the stage, his eyes focused on Damien, Nuk tilted his head a little towards it. "30 seeds on the ghoul."

Now it was personal. Smirking at the other student, the skinwalker leered, snickering antagonistically.

"Wutcha gonna do, Demi? You gonna cry 'bout it?"


***Nuk had never considered him much of a rival. Damien was the yapping chihuahua to Nuk's german shepherd.
