Rep wandered back as Harrison did, resigned to his fate by this point of adventuring till he dropped dead.
"It is kind of like a pirate cave. Little sandy cavern and even at high tide the water doesn't come up high. Not as much of a target as the dorms are and a good fall back if s**t ever really hits the fan again like during that whole like, invasion thing."
He frowned, checking under another prickly shrub for portals. "I just don't know enough about building s**t to know how to combat like the saltiness and like, build shelves and s**t. Or if it's even possible."

B0nez felt the Halloween atmosphere closing on them, and Harrison took them back to the lighthouse.

Tracey was keeping time with B0nez in as far as telling Rep to leave, he'd been quiet most of the time simply keeping tabs on vital functions in the way he usually did while letting Rep bumble around in vaguely the right direction that he wanted to go.
"Aye. Way too ******** much free time, a project might be nice. Something to work on like when we aren't risking life and limb. Man I could go with some looong shore leave. Just be a ******** normal person for a while."

Rep did his usual round of the portals, sniffing each one in turn to make sure it wasn't Christmas on the other side. He really really wasn't keen on the denizens there, any more than he was on the inhabitants of Halloween. Both seemed pretty set on murdering him in one way or another.

Harrison waited patiently for Rep before continuing the conversation in the woods.
"I mean, not that I blamed him or anything. Hell, ambition is what I liked about him. But s**t, I would have moved. I could have found a job. I dunno. I think it was bullshit, but I guess it made more sense to act like I was the problem, instead of him being a shallow b*****d who didn't want any strings still attached while he was cruising campuses."

They took another chunk of time to recharge before hitting the woods again. Harrison did his standard-grade portal inspection-
Winter wonderland, reindeer games, some kind of train with polar bears on it...here we go.
"Found the Prison," Harrison said, leading Rep through. He inspected the woods before they both disappeared in a flash of black cloaks.

This time Harrison had a few more places to stop off before he hit the woods. He described the last area- past the hellhole of traps- to Rep.
The whole place was chock-full of magic s**t, ripe for the picking.
It was also a volcano, but every silver lining had a cloud.
He'd shown off the silver pirate spyglass too, which was heavy and expensive and had moons all over it. For whatever reason, the moment he'd picked it up, it'd felt like his. He knew he'd need to turn it over to the labtechs, but for now- he made sure Rep had his bandaids, and got his own recharged.
"You remember any Sun Titans in that book?" he asked, hood up and ready for another dive into the depths of the prison.
He checked through the portals. The first one was just an uncleaned bathroom, but the second one-
"Jackpot," he said, "Go on ahead."
