Ferros ducked his head to fit under the doorframe, looking curiously around the room. The bunks would not fit his frame, but he would be fine sleeping on the floor; he doubted that these humans often had cause to deal with creatures who didn't sleep in ordinary style beds. The room was clean and simple, suited for nearly any kind of creature, which made sense.

There was a ghost lounging on the ceiling. Ferros blinked at the boil. "Hello," he echoed Tracey.

"If you'd like food or anything else," Matt said brightly from the doorway, "press the button and speak into the box by the door. I bet you want to rest a little, so I'll leave you alone for now. I need to go and check on how the setup's progressing anyway. Nacht, just give me a call when you want someone to come be a guide."

B0nez spared a hand for a wave before honing back in on his game.

He spared a second glance.

Then he hovered down a few inches, chin propped gleefully in his hand, which was propped on nothing.

"You here for the upgrade?"

Tracey blinked. Well. Upgrade might have been one way to put it he conceded. A power upgrade of sorts. He beamed at the boy "Yes, you could say that. I wasn't expecting to meet other people from home here! That's wonderful." Nacht piped up with. "Another friend of the family"

Matt got an irritable glance as he beat a hasty retreat, one that said there would be words later about shirking of duties and leaving a clearly superior individual in compromising position with monsters.

Tracey sat down on one of the beds, kicking his feet excitedly. "I'm Traciel by the way!" he said.

Upgrade was a rather magical word, and Ferros spent a moment happily recalling his family's mechanic bolting new plates and pipes to his back and adjusting valves and wiring. Perhaps he could get a literal upgrade as well; there must be fascinating technologies and fittings available in the human world. Maybe he could even get wings. He nodded to B0nez. "Yes," he agreed. "What kind of upgrade are you hoping for? I could use a tune-up. Perhaps some new parts."

He seated himself on the floor. "I'm Ferros," he offered.

"Heheh, I guess you could say... more software than hardware," B0nez said, snapping the game shut and twisting around Tracey to get a better look at Ferros. "You're all hardware, though," he said with bright interest.

He ran unshy fingers in a playful, fiddly pattern across the metallic shoulder, electricity snapping between his digits and the plating.

"B0nez," he answered with a strange electronic inflection.

Upsidedown, he ducked through the dragon.

"Hmm," he said, hovering half-out of his chest and concentrating the joints, not shy to rifle through those either. "Now this is interesting. What's this? Is this your natural form? Where's your circuit board?"

Tracey glanced over at the ghost and his fascination which could be construed as manhandling Ferros. There was a moment where every feather on his wings seemed to splay and bristle and he clenched his hands into fists, talons curled against his skin painfully. He went from laid back and giddy to looking like a coiled ball of potential energy in an instant and had to suppress a low hiss through his fangs.

Nacht speaking was what snapped him out of it and he relaxed hurriedly. "Tracey, are you all right?" he'd spotted the way the boil had seemed to change, and was surprised by the shift. He'd never seen even a glimmer of what he was capable of, and for just that moment there he'd been sure his wings looked sharp.

Ferros didn't mind being examined, even poked through; his rebuilds had been as thorough as this, and the way B0nez was checking his wiring and construction reminded him of the mechanic. His wiring was fairly primitive, and most of his functions were steam-driven or fully mechanical. "I don't have a circuit board," he said. "I only have a little electricity. This isn't my natural form - I'm too big to change inside. I'm two stories tall," he said proudly.

Tracey's sudden tension caught his eye, though, and he shifted a little where he sat. "That tickles," he told B0nez. "Out, please. I can open my maintenance panel if you want to see, but all that electricity is going to make my wires short out."

B0nez slipped out of him the second he asked, legs going from in front of him to floating ponderously in the air behind him, but on the whole B0nez wasn't any further away.

"Heheh, two's my lucky number. Don't worry about the shorting, I've never had that problem. Maintenance panel...I think I've already got it~" he said, giving the edges a testing pry.

Tracey wasn't pleased in the least, relaxing his desire to try and see if it was possible to maim a ghost even with this suppressing bracelet on but not dropping the feral slitted glare. He didn't know what they were talking about either, which somehow made it worse. He didn't know what a maintenance panel was with but he absolutely didn't think Ferros should be just whipping it open for strangers.

"It has a latch," Ferros explained, and pressed lightly beside the seam of the panel. It popped open, revealing a panel of clunky-looking switches, dials and gauges. "I'm not an antique myself, but my plans are not modern."

He smiled over at Tracey. "Tracey helps oil me when I get squeaky. I rely on him."

B0nez went over the dials, analyzing them with lightening acuity.

"You got that right. I didn't even know they made this sh1t any more. HmmmmMMmmm, no ports either, here's the transmission, wiring's okay-" The game had gotten discarded at some point, and ended up in Tracey's lap. Ferros's panel lights lit up, one after the other, and then settled back down, "lazy, but okay, they wired this together- this takes me back," He was checking under the paneling, but seemed satisfied.

"Heh. Yeah. Maybe they'll throw in an equipment upgrade. If I were you," he looked at Ferros, "I'd go all the way. Bring you in to this century. Get you a jackton of processors, a scary-fast accelerator, smoother casing, and with two stories worth of storage space who knows how many petaflops you could run at."

He settled back, looking at Ferros with very keen interest.

"You could give supercomputer a whole new meaning."

Tracey very neatly and elegantly switched the game off without saving while watching the other two discuss whatever it was they were discussing, B0nez poking around in Ferros in -to him - frankly lewd looking ways.

He hadn't been this angry in quite a long time.

"Well I happen to like him how he is." he snapped, every word sharply enunciated and dripping with ice.

Ferros shook his head and reclosed the panel calmly. "I will stay antiquated, perhaps with some new pipes or appendages," he said. "I am made for destruction on a large scale, and delicate wiring and circuitry would only break when I rampaged. I am quite durable." He moved over to sit on the floor near Tracey's feet, puffing a gentle cloud of warm steam from the pipes on his back.

"I shall leave the computing to you, friend," he told B0nez. "Perhaps you can run simulations to determine the best paths and techniques for maximum destruction."

"Eh, well, suit yourself," He finally seemed to notice Tracey, "What about you, you're- oh. Eh. Just meat. ...Mostly," A previously sharp feather slid across his hand, and he reached through Tracey to retrieve his game.

The device, which wasn't a ghost, caught on Tracey's middle, and he tossed it to his other hand before floating back to the ceiling like a balloon.

"Maybe if I'm feeling generous. What's with the matching bracelets?"

Tracey possessively splayed his lower wings either side of Ferros where he sat, hoarding the steam towards him. For his comment about being mostly meat, B0nez got an extension on the look of dislike Tracey was plying him with.

"Excuse me." he outright hissed. "I'd prefer if you wouldn't reach through me like that." It was phrased in such a way it was almost interchangeable with "do that again and I will break it and possibly you"

He was in no mood to offer explanation of their bracelets, which Nacht did helpfully. He'd been busy making mental notes of their interactions for his no-doubt dazzling report later. "They are form stabilisers for this world, much like the pins in your own world."
