I was searching You were on a mission Then our hearts combined like A neutron star collision I have nothing left to lose You took your time to choose Then we told each other With no trace of fear that
DUSTIN TERRENCE ALDRED PROUD HALFBLOOD FORMER HUFFLEPUFF Our love would be forever: Furious | And if we die: What?! | We die together: Bernadette and Marina | And lie, I would never: KitchenTo say Dustin Aldred was annoyed would be a massive understatement. He was furious, and it was evident from the way he paced back and forth, in front of an equally peeved daughter and a wife who had decided it was probably best to just wait out this storm and let him handle Marina.
"So you're telling me," he snapped, "That you've been being stalked for two bloody years and you didn't say anything?! You've been getting notes?! You think you've been trailed before?! Are. You. Insane. Marina. What part of 'you have parents' is so hard to comprehend?!" he ranted, gripping a mug of morning coffee that had long ago gone cold very tightly.
His daughter gave him a look usually given to overreacting children by their parents; it said something along the lines of settle down now, you're being dramatic.
He was fairly certain he was not being dramatic. He was being very realistic, something no one else in this family seemed capable of.
"Dad," she began calmly in a take a deep breath and relax tone, which just made him bristle even more, "I am fine. I will be fine. If they wanted to hurt me they've had plenty of opportunities to do so. This is just to unnerve me and throw me off their trail."
"Their trail?! Do you even hear yourself?! YOU ARE SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD. You are not going to hunt down some lunatic or lunatics or whatever on your own."
"I'm an adult and I'll do whatever I see fit to fix this." she insisted, running a hand through her red curls.
The look on the blonde man's face was one of the incredulous disbelief. "No. You won't. I'm your father. We are your parents. This has nothing to do with you and you never should have been brought into this-
"Well I was!" snapped Marina, eyes on fire, always a bad sign. "And don't assume I can't possibly know what you two have been going through because I've been looking over my shoulder for quite some time now! I don't know why this is happening. I know," she stared at her mother, "that this has to do with you know what and I know there's stuff you either won't or can't tell me."
"If you're in any way suggesting," growled her father, "that this is your mum's fault-
"I'm not!" the girl nearly screamed and jumped up. "I can't deal with this right now. I'm going out with Damien tonight. I'll let you know when I'm leaving."
"I don't want you going out anywhere after dark-
"It's just too bad you can't stop me, now isn't it?" she retorted sharply and with a loud crack, apparated out of the kitchen. There was the sound of footsteps upstairs and a door thudding closed a little more forcefully than was necessary.
"Oh for the love of..." Dustin muttered and abruptly sat down in the chair his daughter had been sitting in. "Bernadette. What am I supposed to... She doesn't listen. Ever."The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others' lives. ((this takes place before the date, for clarification)) The world is broken Halos fail to glisten You try to make a difference But no one wants to listen Hail, the preachers, fake and proud Their doctrines will be cloud Then they'll dissipate Like snowflakes in an ocean

Thought that I was strong I know the words I need to say Frozen in my place I let the moment slip away I've been screaming on the inside And I know you feel the pain Can you hear me? Can you see me? BERNADETTE MORGAN ALDRED PROUD MUGGLEBORN FORMER RAVENCLAW You've been dreaming: Worried | If you're thinking: .... | That I'm still afraid of you: Dustin | And I've been dying, 'cause I'm lying to myself: Kitchen Bernadette summoned up the last of her sarcasm. "Well, that went brilliantly." she said shortly as she heard the door slamming upstairs. She looked at her husband. "She thinks you're treating her like child." she informed him.
He scoffed. "She is a child. I don't care if she's 17, she's still a teenager. And I worry."
"You need to trust her more." she sighed. "She's not going to just walk head first into danger." She ignored the very bad feeling that was almost common now. Marina was never one to just let things lie. She hadn't been raised to just take things as they were. Bernadette just didn't want to see her hurt. She didn't want anyone hurt because of her. The reason they were being watched, being threatened, was her. She knew it. It was because of something she'd done. She didn't know why- she couldn't remember-
Maybe you do know and you're just lying to yourself-
No.
Just...stop thinking about it. Just stop.
"Just.... just give her some time. We can figure this out. Together. As a family." she winced. "That sounded corny." She massaged her temple.
Dustin managed a short laugh. "It's the heart the counts," he told her, pulling her into an embrace and running his fingers through her dark hair. "It's going to be alright. I promise."Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Say it's over, Yes it's over But I need you anyway Say you love me but it's not enough Not that I'm so different Not that I don't see The dying light of who I used to be But how could I forgive?
