Haides didn't like being called kiddo, but he said nothing; it wasn't anything to make a fuss over. "She's... different." He nodded his acknowledgement of her reply. Then he quietly trudged by her, wanting not much more than to fall asleep.
Beta smiled. "G'night, Dee!"
"Goodnight, Beta. ... 'Night, Fairy Godmother." He didn't turn around or even slow as he spoke. He wasn't usually this tired. Maybe it was all of that talking...

"Well, she is certainly someone I want to meet if she got you talking, Haides. Come on, let's get you kids to bed, before you fall asleep like that,"Serenity told the two of them. She led the way into their stable and stirred them into theire sleeping areas that were near her. She thought about what Haides called her and she smiled softly.
"Good night, my little ones,"Serenity spoke softly.

"G'night, Mama," was Beta's quiet reply. She curled up and closed her eyes, her back resting against Haides's.
Haides relaxed and closed his own eyes. Two days... what would this double-family meeting be like?

Serenity grabbed a blanket from nearby and threw it over the two of them, making sure they were kept warm. Then she checked on her other children, before saying a good night mentally with Dea and her older brothers.
((Sounds like a good idea))

(( Magical time skip activate! ))
Haides trotted towards the lake shore, sighing quietly. It wasn't upset about going to see Jaromila. However...
"Uwaaah! It's pretty!" Beta bounded over to the lake, staring bright-eyed at the water.
The colt just nodded and headed to the spot he'd met Jaromila the previous day. He wondered how his new friend would react to the bouncing filly that was his companion today.

Jaromila had spoken with her parents the previous night and been given their agreement to the family meeting. With happy news, she trotted out of the area where her family lived and over to the lake where she agreed to meet Haides. She hoped the young colt had not gotten lost and when she reached the lake, she was relieved to see Haides there. She skidded to a stop and looked a little surprised to see another filly with him.
"I take it that is Beta?"Mila asked softly.

Haides nodded and glanced over at the excited filly before turning to his new friend. "Serenity said tomorrow should be fine. She doesn't have anything planned. Glancing at Beta, who'd stopped her bouncing in favor of looking at them, he added, "Beta really wanted to talk to you." And had insisted upon coming.

Jaromila looked over at Beta as she looked at them, before turning her attention back to Haides.
"Good, because my parents are alright with the meeting too, so it is definitely a go. Oh, I did not know Beta would want to talk to me before tomorrow, but I am alright with it, Haides. It is very nice to meet you, Beta, Haides has told me about you,"Mila replied.

Beta's face lit up. "Nice to meet you too! Jaromila, right?" She glanced at Haides as he wandered away from the two fillies, then smiled at Jaromila. "What did Haides tell you about me?" she inquired, curious as what her quiet friend had said.

Jaromila's eyes followed Haides as he walked away, before she turned her head back to Beta.
"Yes, Jaromila is my name. Let's see, Haides told me about how the two of you came into the care of Serenity. He also told me how you consider him your best friend and that you are very fond of Serenity,"Mila answered. She tried to think if she forgot anything Haides told her about yesterday.

Beta nodded. "He was my first friend. And my best friend." She glanced over at the colt as he grazed, her smile widening. "He won't admit it, but he saved me."

Jaromila looked a little surprised when she heard what Beta said and she gave a questioning look.
"If you do not mind my asking, Beta, but how exactly did he save you? I am curious, since as you said, he did not tell me anything about that yesterday,"Mila spoke. Her tail swished behind her and she had her full attention on Beta.

Beta was quiet for several minutes before speaking. "I never knew who my daddy was. All I had was Mama and my big brothers. Mama had to go somewhere and she told me to stay where I was while she was gone. Then she and my brothers left." She stared out over the water. "I waited and waited... but they didn't come back. And then Haides found me." Her green eyes fixed on Jaromila. "The first day, he didn't say a word. He just nudged me over to a pond and let me drink. He would put things in front of me to eat, even though I didn't want to eat. The next day, I refused his help. I told him Mama wasn't going to come for me. I didn't think there was anything left more me. His reply... was only one word. 'Live,' he said." She smiled again. "In the end... that's all I really needed to hear." Her gaze went to Haides again. "We started moving a few days later. I don't remember how long after that that we met Serenity. And then she became our new mommy."

Jaromila listened to Beta's story of when she met Haides and when it concluded, she stole a glance over to Haides. Her attention returned to Beta and she had a sad look in her eyes.
"I am very sorry that happened to you, Beta, I could not imagine anyone doing that to a child of their's I told Haides last night that my parents were always around when my sisters and I were little, so we knew we were cared for. I am glad you found Serenity, though, it seems she is a very good mare,"Mila replied.

Beta shook her head. "I don't mind. Haides is worth more than them." Her expression was almost serious for a minute, but then her expression brightened again. "Uh-huh! She's really nice. She cares a lot. Haides doesn't mind her either." Giggling, she added, "Yesterday he called her 'Fairy Godmother.'" It was kind of funny.
