She was close to tears, Orion could see it and he felt so guilty about it. Nuzzling her back he just held her close for a minute or two. "Shhhh my dove, shhhhh!" She was right though, he had been consumed in this.... still, it didn't mean he wouldn't want to give her more in the future if that was what she wanted, no, he would give her as many as she wanted and more if he could.... "I'm sorry, shhhh.... I'll take better care of myself, I promise. I... am just as excited as I am scared you know."
She had failed to stop the tears totally but at least she wasn't wailing this time, at least she wasn't till she tried talking. "Scared why?" Sniffing again, part of her horrified at the wail those words had been, but she was ok, it was just hormones. Burying her nose in his mane she soaked up the comfort that he offered.

Upfolding one of his wings he did a very rare thing, he held her with it, out in the open where everyone could see if they looked their way. "Shhhh, shhhh Eden, I've got you." He wasn't sure how much he should say now given her reaction but he also knew she was still as stubborn as a tree... not much uprooted her if she dug in. "I am scared of losing you. Scared that there won't be anything I can do to help you.... and I know you don't seem worried, but I still a little concerned they will have an evil streak in them... more kalona blood than either of us..." He found himself leaning into her, taking her strength just as she took his.
Snuggling agaisnt him under his wing, starting to calm down, always glad he was honest with her.... Then again that he spoke to her at all made her feel the most amazingly special mare in teh world. Looking at him, hiccuping a little. "If I get Chandra to tell you how risky this is for me in clear no uncertain terms will it help? Having foals is not risk free but theres no reason I should have any trouble." Snuggled close, her tears stopping as quickly as they came. "I'd be happy to have foals like you Orion, sure Kalonas are not to be taken lightly but not all are evil or totally mean. Some are even nice, though I've only met ones that are nice when they are half or less. No child of yours could ever be evil Orion, your so sweet and kind that its just not possible."

He listened to each of her words, his heart breaking a little as she continued to sob, as she hiccuped, it was silly really but he felt her pain as if it was his own. Contemplating her words he stood silent for a while, simply holding her close. Finally he spoke. "I have faith in you... I know you will be ok... I know our children could never been evil, not with you as a mother... but.... that doesn't stop me worrying. It's my job to worry, it's all I can do... " Part of him wanted to ask for her to let him worry about her, if only a little. He didn't though. Instead he said, "I think I am going to talk to Sonnet...." he didn't say more, hoping she understood what he meant.
Nodding, she knew he wouldn't stop worrying no matter what she did, she would just try to make sure he didn't make himself ill with it. "Sonnet.... I guess that couldn't hurt..." Pulling a face when she thinks about it more.... Then again given what happened to Auva there was no telling what advice the purple stallion might give Orion. Then again she had mroe faith in him than that, as far as she knew even when he was hurting too he had never let his family down. But she only knew what had gone around the herd when that had all happened.

Orion nodded against her, happy to hold her for as long as she needed or wanted. "Have you had enough Rhubarb and Apples?" He asked after a long silent pause, there was no rush, relaxing and taking it slow would do her good.
Despite his words Orion made no effort to move, simply contemplated a few things. "If we do have a girl... I like the name Precious." It seemed silly, probably would get laughed at by most, but he rather liked it.... not that he could give you a reason why he liked it.
Looking over at the rubarb and the few apple left. "Lets finish those apples off so that they don't go to waste." Kissing him again a soft lingering kiss before moving over, deviding the apples up so they had the same amount. Smiling at him and eating some more, knowing at times she might be over eating, but she ate when she was hungry, stopped when she felt full. She wanted to be sure the foals didn't want for anything. Muncing on the last of her second stalk with her few apples. Stopping when she felt full. "Mmmm ok thats enough for now." Turning her head and givign her swolen side a small loving nudge. "I wish you could find a better place to put your hooves." Looking over at Orion. "Precious, its a lovely name, here is hoping we have a girl then." Smilng at him not havign started thinking of names yet. "Lets go see Chandra shall we?"

Orion didn't argue with her, he simply started to eat his share of the apples in silence, only stopping when Eden seemed ready to move on. Licking his lips he watched her, folding his wing back to his side so the panels collapsed on top of each other. "You don't hate it?" He found himself asking as she commented on the name, that made him happier than he could admit, even as he nodded in agreement to go and see Chandra. "Yes, I know you have been wanting to see her anyway... so let's go." He leaned over and kissed her, "Plus, the sooner we do that, the sooner we can go home and snuggle in peace." Yes, he was desperate to get her alone and safe again, to just keep her to himself a little. Especially since so many wanted to visit them now they were expecting, or rather now that the bump was starting to show and it was obvious what her condition was.
Eden smiled and nodded, nuzzling him and falling into a leisurely pace next to him after watching him put his wing away, she did love his wings, they were so pretty, especially when she looked up through them to the sky, it was one of her favourite things to do. "Maybe you can talk your daughter into moving her hoof so I can get comfortable again when we get home." Never complaining but it was probably obvious that it was getting harder for her to get comfortable. "We can stop bt the water on the way to Chandra and..... OH!" Stopping dead as something insider her definately moved, though she wasn't sure if it was better or not from where it had been before, now havign a distinct smaller bump on her side that had just appeared.

Orion nodded, "I will talk to her when we get back." He said, blushing a little, when it was just them in their private domain he rarely got embarassed about things like this... but out here someone might hear him, it was silly but he still cared about how others saw him, and for the most part rather prefered not to be seen.
He nodded as Eden suggested stopping for a drink but froze in panic as she stopped dead in her tracks after mumbling an 'oh'. His head shot back to look at her. "What's up... are you ok... does something hurt...?" He rushed to her side again, looking her over... only to see... well he wasn't entirely sure what it was. A hoof? It seemed like it, pushing Eden's flesh at a strange angle. It looked... strange, but at least he suspected it wasn't unusual... not much at least. Moving his head near it he decided to speak to their unborn child... or children... which ever it may be. "Hello my little ones..." What was he meant to say? "...be nice to your Mama.... she is doing everything for you out her little ones, we're so excited to meet you...." he blushed a little and pulled back to look at Eden and see how she reacted to his little.... 'show'.
Having looked around to see the little hoof bump herself, her eyes misting up as Orion talked to the little one, sniffing again. "Oh you are going to be such an amazing father, I'm so lucky!" Totally havign forgotten about his worrying, the movement not havign really hurt though it had felt a little different and maybe a bit uncomfortable, tohugh she knew it could probably hurt if they hit somewhere like her kidney. Watching in awe as thw little lump faded away and appeared in a slightly different place. ".... Orion...." Her voice a hushed excited whisper, they had seen thir foal move.

Orion's eyes had darted straight back to the bump as movement caught his eyes... he watched as the lump moved only to reappear a little while later in a different place. He was awestruck. Amazed. And it was all thanks to his amazing mate who was doing everything right for them. "Wow." He exclaimed, unable to hold back his amazement or contain it. It shifted, moving to a physical shift in his hooves as he felt a true wave of excitment wash over him. This was real... there was at least one foal in there. Their foal! Wow! Just wow!
He looked up at her, a smile on his face that refused to disappear.
Eden beamed at him, truely glad that they had been alone together for that moment, leaning over and kissing him. "Lets get to Chandra and home as soon as possible so we can watch her do that till we fall asleep." Real excitement in her voice, though she did wish the foal would remove that hoof from her bladder, the need to pee all the time was very embarassing.

Orion nodded in agreement, he was certainly game for the idea. Plus, it meant he got to spend more time with Eden. Time alone would be hard to come by when their little one(s) arrived. "Yeah... come on." He turned and started leading the way towards Chandra's nest.
Chandra stuck her tongue out at her mate. "All these babies, I might very well think you had something to do with it." She chuckled, knowing it wasn't the case but enjoying teasing him a little. "Keep me busy with other things so I won't bug you for more of my own." She giggled and moved in to n** him. Around Sonnet she always felt like a foal again, carefree and so very in love that everything else faded away around her. Her rock. Her constant in life. She heard hooves on the dry earth and turned to see Eden and Orion approaching, "Speaking of which... it seems there is no rest for the wicked, huh?" Getting to her hooves she took a few steps towards the pair, smiling softly. "Is everything ok?" They seemed far happier than the last time she had seen them.
Sonnet had looked totally baffled. "How?? What did I do? How is this anything to do with me?" Really not understanding his mate sometimes, his ears flattening along with his head wings as he pouts, sulking a little that she would think that. They hadn't really talked about more properly since Auva was hurt. Whenever she mentioned it now it was part of teasing so he didn't know what she really wanted in that regard. Looking over to see the expecting couple wandering their way, his pout/scoul turning to a gentle smile, they looked very happy and he was glad for that.
Eden wandered along with Orion, spying Chandra, the grin on her face leaving no doubt that anything was wrong, though she wasn't shore where to begin and that brought her up short. Stopping in front of the older mare where she had been about to give her a hug, worryign her lip as she thinks.

With a giggled she looked back at her mate and winked at him. She would tell him soon she wanted more... but not yet... not yet....
Chandra didn't noticed the hesitation at first, automatically gathering Eden up for a quick embrass and a nod to Orion, she knew Orion didn't like to be touched by anyone other than Eden and she respected that.... maybe it made Haki and his no touch by anyone a little easier to understand, though she couldn't imagine a world where no one touched you.... it was... strange to her, but then again she was from a world were touch was cherished and held dear. Still smiling as she pulled back from the embrass she noticed the smile wavering... "What's wrong dear, is something wrong?" Has she misunderstood? A moment ago she could have sworn she saw nothing but happiness radiating from the pair... then again, they had sought her out. She stood silent and still, allowing them all the time they needed or wanted.
Orion nodded back to the kindly midwife before looking nervously towards her mate instead, the purple stallion always raditated a strength that Orion lacked. He gulped slightly... later... he would get the courage to talk to him later. For now he simply stood by his mates side, nudging her gently with his nose to encourage her to talk.
Sonnet watched, rolling his eyes as Chandra poked her tongue out at him. Standing and walking over, giving her a kiss on the cheek and a nuzzle. "I won't be far but maybe a little more privacy would help." Giving Eden a nod and smile, the same to Orion before making his way out of sight and mostly out of earshot, liking to be able to make out voices jsut enough to know who was who, just in case there was any danger, after al lthat was his job now.
Eden nodded at Sonnet, her smile coming back, not havign meant to make him feel like he had to leave. Nuzzling Orion again not having realised she had yet to say anything till that moment. "Oh... OH! Sorry... No nothing wrong, not really I was just trying to think where to start... Thing is I'm still not sure.... We have soem questions... well thats mostly it... The little one(s) have started moving, though I'm sure she's standing on my bladder.... And I had my first craving, I think..." Stopping as she realises she is rambling and gettign no where in trying to say anything they needed to.

Chandra chuckled good heartedly, "The joys of being a first time mother... I will admit I was scared, happy, overwhelmed, overjoyed and petrified all at the same time for most of my pregnancy... and in comparision to some, like your aunt, I had things pretty easy." She said, offering her understanding to the other mare. Her eyes drifted to where her mate had wandered, he understood her so well... she was thankful for that, and was already thinking of a way to make it up to him, to treat him... just because she wanted to. Returning her attention to the couple she said, "Let's see... is there anything worrying you right now? Other than kicking your bladder... which I am afraid," She said with a soft chuckle, "I can't do anything about... I wish I could though! Seriously...." She leaned in and whispered to Eden, "...needing to pee in the middle of a herd meeting isn't good." Pulling back she turned to walk back to her normal area, "Come, let's sit down and talk for a while." She wasn't sure if she could help elevate all the fears, but she hoped she could help at least a little.
Orion nodded, wondering what the secret exchange was between the two mares... then again, he probably didn't want to know... did he? He blushed again.
Moving over to sit next to Chandra, leaving space for Orion. figiting a lot till she finally found a comphy position, ending up pn her side, laying diagonally her head resting on Orions leg. "Sorry, gettign comfortable is getting hah.... harder...." Her breath coming out as she gets kicked somewhere that did actually hurt a little, another hoof bump appearing just after. "Anyway... we had questions." Though with her ups and downs and the surprise of the foals moving she was struggling to remember what they were.

Orion chewed his lip a little as he watched Eden first struggle to get comfortable and then struggle to speak since she was obviously getting kicked a lot. That meant it was up to him... biting back his desire to stay quiet he looked at Eden as he spoke, rude, he knew that, but at least this way he would manage to speak. "Earlier we were wondering about cravings and when they would kick... and eh... if there was any way to tell how many we needed to prepare for? Where do we get the baskets from? Eh...." He blushed, stuttering a little now as he gulped. "...is there anything we can do to prepare for the day they come? And eh... I wanted to know... eh... what... if anything... eh... ah.... em... canyoudotohelpherwithpain." The last words came out in a rush and a gush of words, merging practically into one.
Chandra wasn't bothered that Orion wasn't looking at her as he spoke, if anything she actually thought it was cute that he was looking at his mate as he spoke about one of the most intimate and precious things in the world. Birth. She let him finish speaking before trying to answer his question, not wanting to interupt him and cause him to stumble more.
With a nod she started answering, "Well... everyone is different when it comes to cravings, some don't want anything special, some change from day to day, getting sudden and random urges for various foods... and others, like you Mother actually Eden, have a very distinctive and consistant cravings throughout. Since it is still only early days you might not have any or many yet, they may get worst, stay the same or change. You said you thought you had your first craving? What was it?" It didn't really matter what it was, Chandra was simply curious. She found everything about pregnancy and birth to be beautiful.
"Kicking." She said, tilting her head to think about it as she looked at Eden. "I would say you are there.... it will get harder and harder as the foals grow stronger, if you ever have a day were their activity seems less than what you are used to I need you to tell me." Chandra wasn't willing to explain right now, not wanting to make the scared over something that might very well not even happen. "Since it so early and you are feeling them, I think it's a good chance you are having three." It was only a guess, but for a first time mum to get them so early she was pretty sure it was more rather than less. "Baskets. I can help there, so don't worry about it.... just worry about each other. Practise breathing. In... one, two, three, four... Out... one, two, three, four before repeating. Pain?" She guessed, catching the last of his rambled words, "As for pain, I can help... herbs and my unicorn magic, it seems to help with pain but rarely with injuries.... so hopefully that will help Eden if she needs it. Don't worry, so far everything is going smoothly."
Eden smiled proudly up at Orion for having done that, leaning up to whisper in his ear. "You know you're my hero, every day you brave things that make you uncomfortable, and you do it for me." Her face glowing with love for him as she settled against him again. "It might also be an idea for you to have a talk with us about the whole thing.... Orion herd mum and me talking and has gotten into worrying he will loose me because of the foals... I think if you can back up my words it would help. There's no reason for anything liek that to happen after all is there." Smiling at Chandra, worried about her mate, he was worrying too much, but then first time parents were like that, Sonnet hadn't been much better if at all.

Chandra listened to Edens words before looking at Orion and then back to her. She could understand their concern. "I am not going to lie," She decided to start with, sugar coating the risks wouldn't help anyone. "Sometimes things do and can go wrong, like with your Aunt Alice... she was very sick, the foals didn't seem as if they wanted to leave, then when they did it seemed the two males had dominated girl in the womb... but things like that are rare, really rare. The older you are the more complications occur generally... you are young, fit and healthy. Your mother carried well... so yeah, I don't think we should go into this too worried something will go wrong." No, she would deal with that and be prepared for it. That was her job after all, to make sure they all made it. "I promise I will do my best to make sure nothing bad happens." She said softly, knowing it wouldn't always be within her control... but if she could do something she would do something. She smiled softly and nodded, as if reenforcing something she was thinking. "So yeah... I think right now, everything is going really well, Eden is strong and healthy and doesn't seem to be struggling. We're doing well."
Orion blushed brightly at her words, even as a smile spread across his cheeks that refused to fade even as he realised that Chandra was looking at him. Focus on Eden. Focus on Eden. He told himself.
Yet as she started speaking him from himself travelling through several emotions. Dread. Fear. Relief. Pride. Confusion.
Nuzzling Orion with her nose, smiling gently. "See, nothing to really worry about, I'm sure we will have signs before anything goes wrong and Chandra will watch out for those." Relaxed now, the foals seeming to have stopped moving for now. Smiling at Chandra asshe relaxes with her mate in her funny position. "As for my craving it was apples and rubarb... Oh! that reminds me, Orion seemed worried about me eating that.." Looking at Orion, him never having actually told her what worried him about the rubarb.

Chandra smiled softly, "Yeah, we will usually get warning about things and can prepare for them. So until something happens don't worry about them. Worrying about them can sometimes make things happen. Stress isn't good for the mother or foals." She wasn't trying to lecture the pair but she wanted them to have all the facts they needed.
She giggled softly, getting excited for the pair. She really did love all this stuff. "I am so happy for you both! How exciting!"
"Worried about Rhubarb?" She looked to Orion softly and then Eden once more. "I wouldn't worry too much, things you would normally eat should still be fine, the danger is more from finding bad food...." She didn't feel like she should sugar coat it for Eden, after all the mare had a brain and it would almost be insulting not to treat her with anything but the upmost respect and dignity. "...if you developed food poison it could be bad for the babies, but the chances of that are slim." After all, from what she had seen Eden had rarely been ill and had a good appetite. "Don't worry so much," Kind blue eyes turned to Orion, "Just enjoy it, everyone will be here to make sure everything goes smoothly, you're not alone. Ok?" That went for both of them, even the quiet stallion. The way he worried about his mate just proved to Chandra once again how good her herd members were, how they were all wonderful in their own way.
Moving forward she gave them both a kiss, usually she would give Orion more space but the maternial instinct in her simply couldn't resist in that moment. "If you have anything else.... don't hesitate to ask, ok? Now. I want you to take it easy, tell me if anything becomes to hard or if we are moving too fast for you... ok?" She smiled sweetly at them both. "I shall see you both later."
Orion leaned over and kissed Eden's cheek, a rare public sign of affection before looking at Chandra and saying softly, "Thank you."

Crown landed along the path he knew the herd had been travelling, it wasn't hard finding them when he knew what he was looking for. A large groupd of soquili weren't exactly hard to see... especially given their colours, he supposed most at least had the cover of darkness and their pelts to help hide them a little. Chandra was such a soquili with a midnight coloured coat. He saw the protectors on duty, nodded to them softly as he landed and looked for the mare. It didn't take too long to find her, his eyes lighting up with playfulness as the giddiness he was feeling increased... his babies... they were ready to open! He wanted to meet them, wanted to see his twins so badly. "Chandra." he nodded softly to her mate, not wanting to interupt their conversation but unable to keep his excitment contained any longer. "It's time." Those words seemed to catch her attention, her eyes dancing with joy... yes, he thought, she was born to be a midwife. It was clear she loved all babies. "May I steal your mate for a while Sonnet, I will bring her back... I promise."
Chandra kissed her mate, knowing he would never stop her from doing this... especially since Crown had come to 'escort her', his condition about not going along clearly satisfied. "I won't be long." She said, kissing her mates cheek, around her neck was her now ever present sling filled with herbs and medicines and other things of use. Considering they were moving so often she didn't want to suddenly be caught short without a supply of what she needed. A quick nuzzle and she walked with Crown to the edge of the group before opening her wings wide. "You ready?" Her eyes twinkling with the duel meaning... ready to be a 'proper' father, after all baskets and foals were two very different things, and was he ready to go back to his family.
