Tea.
Iyari didn't have much experience with tea and only knew as much that she had enjoyed the cup she'd gotten from Lan at the fortune booth. She had slipped away from concocting a rather unappetizing version of Rot Beer and since then had grown thirsty - moreso for redemption than a drink - and what better way to do so than attempt another brew.
I'll show him. A dark voice chirped up in her mind as her eyes wandered to the younger one in tow. Besides, at least tea couldn't come alive and attack you. And that was always a plus.
Settling down to the line of ingredients and tools she was quiet, thinking it over as she reached out a hand towards it. "Piece of cake."
...If Iyari was flexible enough she might just about shove a foot into her own mouth.
Gliding through motions she grabbed a handful of leaves from all kinds, shoving them down into the infuser until they were nearly bursting out from all sides. The tea she had before was full of flavor - more leaves meant more flavor, correct? The horseman nodded to herself in agreement and moved along her way to the next task.
Fire was a part of her life and she knew it well enough to place the water over the right temperature. The sound of the bubbles was calming and she hummed as she removed the kettle, staring back at her cup in anticipation while she filled the water. It was only a few moments and she had grown impatient, her dark wings twitching as she craned over the cup, watching the water do its work.
Agitated, she shook her head and raised the cup to Daeva who had been perched on the booth, watching as she had gone through the motions. Her anxiety fell as she watched the poor thing spit slightly at the taste and send a glare in her direction. Obviously she had failed, and for the second time in trying to put something together to drink.
Before he could say a word she had crossed her arms and allowed him room to come in. "It's not one of my strong skills." She put simply.
Inwardly she wanted to rip someone in two.

Senga followed Iyari this time, slipping through shadows with a quiet, leisurely air that came only when he felt as though he was in his element. The crowds did little to calm his nerves, but by now he was growing used to slipping unnoticed around the boothes until he, or one of his companions, found a place they wanted to stop at. Curling his wings slightly at the smell of tea and the sight of a booth that boasted a game for brewing it, Senga frowned.
"This is an odd place for you to choose," He commented without looking at his sister, his wings folding quietly against his sides as he stepped after her and was all at once ensnared in the fragile, potent scent of tea. He had seldom tried it before, and the idea of brewing it seemed even more foreign to him. Still... Iyari seemed interested in it, and he wasn't about to let her have all the fun.
More importantly, he wasn't about to let her beat him in anything while he still had a chance to try and win, which meant only one thing.
The delicate art of tea had just becoming a battleground.
The first part was adding the tea leaves. And just... how did one do that? Senga frowned. How many was too many? How little was too little? It was not at all like sharpening a blade, where you could tell right away when it was just right. The wolf growled under his breath, picking at the leaves and settling on fewer than more. If it left it without much taste... well, he couldn't say he didn't try.
The next step, however, seemed a little easier to maneuver. Senga's wings flicked as he tried to heat it just right, only managing to scrape up enough heat to make a thin curl of steam rise from the pot.
When he finally offered it to the small Daeva, he growled quietly, as though that would help him at all. He already knew that the tea was not at all very good, and that was only emphasized when the small thing took a sip, scrunched its nose, and turned away, as though shunning Senga from its sight for his poor tea making skills. Snorting quietly, the Executioner rolled back on his haunches and glanced at Iyari with a soft rumble.
"I do not like this game," He surmised with a rough growl when Iyari had finished, his wings fluffing indignantly. He didn't like being bad at things, and certainly this was a challenge that he had not come away victorious in at all. But, he thought belatedly, at least Iyari hadn't done that much better either.
"It seems neither of us were very victorious tonight."

Strangely quiet, Freya headed towards the tea booth. Tea might calm her painful stomach, and it certainly wasn't going to make her sick, or fatter. She sat down, put her head in one hand, and then began pulling leaves into the teacup. She'd never made tea before, but this seemed like the right amount. As long as it was hot enough.. The water looked like it was boiling, when she overheated it. She pulled it off and let the tea set in the cup, watching it with a dark melancholy. When she felt like it was done, she pulled the tea out, and poured it into one of the tiny cups. Then she sat there and stared at her reflection in disgust. Quote: 6-10: You have just the right amount of leaves. Not too many, not too few. (+3 points) Quote: 16-20: Burning hot! You're going to ruin the flavor at this rate! (+0 points) Quote: 11-15: You set it a bit too long, but nothing that damaging. Maybe you can ater it down? (+2 Points) Total Score: 5

At least it wasn't just her own failure this time. It seemed they had both done the same this time around, which made for a genuine smile as she watched the creature made a near identical reaction to her own. "We are pretty equally matched in things like this." She said with an unusual warmth in her voice.
The smell of food caught her attention and she stared at the unattended plate of onigiri. "I think we deserve a treat, don't you?" There was that smile again as she took a ball of rice to her face and sniffed it. "Hm." She'd never had anything like it before and shrugged before shoving it into her mouth.
Initially she had winced in fear of the unknown taste, but it subsided quickly as she reached the center. "Mm." It was a satisfied sound and she savored it as long as possible before swallowing it back down. There was a tangy flavor to it mixed with a flaky texture which she enjoyed. Staring at the list she smiled and licked her lips clean, holding out a hand to take a prize which had come with it - though the bit of deliciousness had been it's own reward.
"I like this one a lot, wouldn't you say, Senga?" But he was already reaching for another and she let out a small chuckle. Odd as it was, they were getting along now. Perhaps Hell had frozen over...

"Yes," Senga agreed quietly, glancing at his sister with a slow little huff, like a puppy discovering he couldn't open doors without thumbs, "I suppose we are both more inclined towards the more... dangerous crafts." His lips quirked into an almost-smile - only Senga rarely ever smiled. Even for his sister.
Following Iyari towards the scent of food, Senga settled on staring at the onigiri lined up alongside an uninterested Daeva, his wings ruffling quietly. "Yes, I suppose so. Though - I am not sure whether we should trust these." The comment was made even as Senga reached for one, biting into it with small, curious bites. The pickled vegetable wasn't all that odd to him; he'd had something similar a long time ago. "It seems like something Conquest would make." He mused quietly to Iyari, reaching for another one.
It was hard not to want to try more, after all.

It was an odd sight; two War siblings actually getting along. Especially these two War siblings. But then, perhaps hell really had frozen over while the two busied themselves by stuffing their faces. Perhaps the world was slowly approaching another apocalypse. Whatever it was though wasn't going to stop Senga from munching contently on the plain Onigiri he'd gotten next, nibbling at the remnants of it as his stomach rumbled. He didn't usually care for what he ate so long as it, well, edible, but these were actually alright, and he wouldn't mind eating them all.
Though... that Daeva was starting to unnerve him some.
"It feels like he's waiting for us to begin vomiting," He rumbled, frowning as Iyari found her prize.
Still... it didn't keep him from reaching for a third.

Picking one last onigiri up, Senga nibbled at it, already scenting the raw tuna before he bit in. He picked his way back to the crowd as he continued to gnaw, gesturing for Iyari to follow with a lazy wing flap. "Let's go to the other boothes now - and perhaps find Jay." He told her, licking at his lips once he'd finished the onigiri, satisfied with the small meal he'd been privilege to. Now, hopefully, he wouldn't start getting sick...
Senga glanced warily at the Daeva. Gods only knew.

After being burned by a fireball, Ingrid stumbled upon the Tea Club's booth. " Seems comfortable. ", she said. Her eyes was greeted by an appearance of a pixie daeva. A tea set is in front of Ingrid. " Making a few cups of tea? Piece of cake! ", she said as she snapped her fingers. She stand corrected. Making tea wasn't that easy at all! She needs patience, balance, grace, and.... Patience. Which, is not the stuff she is really good at. Apparently, she poured a bit too much leaves, and the water is in 'almost' perfect temperature, and the water was a bit... Overboiled. After she divided the tea into a few cups, she sat there. " Well, i think it's not that bad... ", she said. Clearly, Tomoko was being overwhelmed by this particular booth. She hadn't really seen Frost-kun around there as he was likely at his own booth, and perhaps that was making her nervous. Never the less, Tomoko had settled in at her club's booth to try and be a friendly face, just to..fail miserably at making tea.
She was a horrible representation of her club right then, but she made a point to sit and sip anyways. Appearances, after all. Nobody else was going to be drinking it but her anyways! Yeah. That'd make her feel better.
That and maybe a small illusion over her sense of taste. Mild, as it was all she could manage yet, but still.

A small minipet emerged next to Tomoko, quietly wobbling. At some point, only a few feet in front of her it stopped, drooping slightly and simply staring with wide vacant eyes

This cat body was stupid. This festival was stupid. This entire mission
was. stupid.
She immediately decided that if she was even going to ATTEMPT to make it through today, she'd need some tea. Luckily it seemed a booth was offering the opportunity to make her own. It was run in the more old fashioned, Japanese style from what Ami could tell, but tea was tea. She'd drink it regardless.
Ami poured leaves in the cup, being incredibly sparse with them. Though she'd used golems before, she'd never eaten with one. She wasn't sure about the effects of their food on her body. She only hoped the golem would keep her from exploding or something.[ + 1 point ] Quote: Ami looks like this (bakeneko)

At least she had made tea countless times before. It wasn't TOO different here. She had the experience to back it up- especially with water temperature. She hated it when people ruined it by boiling the water like crazy.
After a little while, the tea was bubbling soundly and she moved on to steep it. No big deal. Just makin' tea.
Idly she remembered she was supposed to be earning minipets, but for now ... it was tea time.[ total: 4 pts ] Quote: Ami looks like this (bakeneko)
