Having spent a few hours in the part, Alifax was surprised to encounter Pyruet Tropos again as she was heading out of the diner. It had taken only a quick conversation before they agreed to work together - and with Amicae, who'd been heading over to meet Alifax again from the library, and raised his eyebrows at the pair of them. But it hadn't taken long to convince Amicae that Pyruet was trustworthy - or at least that she wanted to get to the culprit as much as Alifax did, and she also needed information. They'd exchanged the information they found and split up to search some more.
Alifax had figured that he'd been doing enough traveling today - it wouldn't hurt to do some more. Besides, it'd be in his best interest to exercise his little grubby muscles. It'd be helpful if it turned out this elixir was...a permanent thing. Which was looking like a possibility: no one at all had mentioned the chances of reversing its effects. So he headed away from his home and into the danger of Old Hemisect City. Maybe the culprit had a few friends there - Alifax had always associated it with shady characters and lowlifes. Besides, he wasn't sure he wanted anyone up on Busthind Mountain to know of his identity.
And he might get some searching done for his own fallen FLARP partner, too. He was fairly certain that his clouder had resided here....and if not, some criminals had to be masters of information.
Yes, this was certainly the wisest course of action right now.
After meeting up with Odette to exchange the info, the yellow and the red blood decided to go separate ways. Vremea chose Chittentown, due to her already living there, and roamed around the familiar streets, her shoes making a small thump thump, as opposed to the usual click clack. She looked up at the moons, secretly liking the pink moon more than the green one, and breathed an exhale of relief. This town's atmosphere was calming to Vremea, and after all the hustle and bustle she just came from in New Hemisect, she needed Chittentown's mechanical sounds in the background..

You've been searching up, down, sideways, and councerclockwise for four weeks now, along with a sizeable portion of Alternia's population. It seems that every lead and informant under the moons has been found and pumped for information. Yes, it looks like the only step left is to gather what you've learned and strike out in search of where "Mr Miracle" has hidden himself away. Based on the hints and clues picked up by you and any of your associates, where do you choose to search?
Please PM THE MULE YOUR ANSWER. We are looking for a rough description of the location, any distinguishing landmarks, the building in question, and whatever your troll is keeping their eyes open for. For example: "A crowded hivestem in NHC, on the 15th floor, the hive that has triangular curtains and a dark green welcome mat." The more correct details you give that correspond with the clues you picked up, the more likely your troll is to be one of the first to find his hiding location!
You have till the 4th to submit your guess! If everyone gets theirs in early, the next part will start before then.

The squat, one story building sat at the edge of the Four Fronds lake, blue awnings flapping sedately in the light breeze. It stood out a fair bit from its neatly groomed neighbours, with a overgrown lawnring littered with scraps of junk from the leaking trash receptacles. Disrupting the chaos of the lawn, a small patch of well-tended ground surrounded a small statue of a three-headed hootbeast with what appeared to be a small memorial plaque on it. Despite holding such a coveted location, the building had an empty feeling about it and a quick knock on the front door would produce nothing but a few woodgrubs falling out.
Arriving first, Zeffer, Aprife and Byakko soon discovered the not-very-hidden trap door around the side in an especially thick patch of overgrown greenery. Opening it was easy enough, and as soon as the doors fell back it was obvious that while the hive was deserted, the basement was quite a different story. The vibrations of a large machine could be felt, the idle humming of a generator filtered up out of the darkness.
Congratulations, to the trolls who have found the house! If they are quick and clever enough to stake their claim and get proof of their early arrival, they will be able to collect the bounty on the head of "Mr Miracle". More trolls will begin to arrive outside the hive at the second mod post, and the final stragglers will show up on the third. The next post will be as soon as your trolls have staked their claim and moved in, or in five days, whichever is first. To anyone not quoted, sorry, your troll chose to search in the wrong town. You will still get 1ep for participating, however!

After convening to mull over their latest set of clues, the threesome had decided to meet up in Four Fronds to do more searching. It seemed like the right place, given all they'd learned, and as before, Zeffer was ultimately relieved to be avoiding the desert. In fact, he was pleased as punch to be snooping around his own turf, and hoped his knowledge of the place would help at least a little bit.
So after a lot of thinking and looking around, they'd found a place that seemed to fit the bill perfectly; a lakeside hive with all the proud trimmings of its owner. After much pounding on the door they'd headed round to do a more thorough search, which quickly produced a more wanted result.
It took all three of their tiny selves to get the damn door open, and Zeffer peered down into the dark interior, grinning madly. "Now what do we do? Bust up in there and arrest him? Do we get to arrest him?" he whispered harshly, looking to his two companions with a wild look of excitement.
The little hairs on the back of Byakko's neck had been sticking up, tingling with every slight change in the air ever since they got north of New Hemisect City. This was highblood territory. She was visibly more jumpy and alert than norm, head rotating constantly as she surveyed the trees around and above them. The pink and purple foliage made her uncomfortable... it was was the perfect cover for highbloods. She was slightly more grateful once they made it into town, but only briefly; while the spacious Four Fronds wasn't as stifling, there were highbloods everywhere. The trio seemed to blend in well enough; even with Aprife's yellow-green blood the three were dismissed as residents and their playmate. Considering Zeffer lived here, Akko supposed that was to some degree the truth! His knowledge of the area certainly proved to be an asset, and soon enough they had found a little hive tucked away by the lakeside, seemingly empty as their knocks were unanswered.
That was, until they stumbled upon the hidden trapdoor around the side of the messily kept hive. After busting it down, (gog it would have been so much easier if they were normal sized), Akko recoiled, crossing her arms around her chest as she realized the situation they were presented with. Zeffer looked wildly between them, questioning their next course of action. "I guess... we go down?" She was hesitant, as the potion had taken much of the mutant's confidence that came with her battle prowess. Her miniature kanabō was already clutched in her fist, body rigid with tension- ready to defend herself at a pindrop. "Be alert," she added after a moment, staring down into the darkness. "We don't know who- or what- is down there." Like the leader she was, Akko took the first few steps down into the basement of the hive.

This particular trek through the streets of Four Fronds was certainly a little different than some of the other times. His companions, with their higher blood, afforded him some semblance of protection from the looks of skepticism and disgust, though there always were a few. It didn't much matter, though. They were trolls on a mission. Besides, even on a normal day it would take a lot more than looks to phase Aprife.
Skirting around the front of the hive as the others pounded on the front door, he found nothing of real interest beyond the overgrowth and garbage. By the time he turned around, they were ready to try and find another way in. It was the other side of the hive that produced better results, even after the struggle it took just to get past the weeds and through the door. As they stared down into the musty darkness, Aprife was quickly becoming a mixture of anticipation and nervousness. They were still stuck in these little bodies, after all. No matter the look of untamed excitement on Zeffer's face, the yellowblood could only share in some of that enthusiasm.
Bumbs, it seemed, agreed. Letting off a harsh buzz, he skirted away from the door. This was not a place he sensed was safe to explore, but it was soon apparent that the trolls weren't going to heed that fear. "C'mon dad," he hissed, urging the bee back to his side as they started down the stairs toward the basement. "Whatever it is, it feels big…" The vibrations slipped up through his feet with each creaking step and the further they went, the louder that noise, whatever it was, became. By the time they reached the bottom, he could feel it all rumbling in his chest, heavy and foreboding. "Do you think someone's down here?" he whispered, peering out of the stairwell with the same caution he used while stalking his nightly gossip.

"Yessssss..." Zeffer snickered as Byakko took the lead, happy enough to follow after her. After all the running around they did, it was intensely pleased to have found the place, and he was excited to see who'd caused all the chaos. Too bad the guy would probably get into big trouble; it wasn't as if he'd harmed anyone, it was more like a big prank. Right?
"There's gotta be." Zeffer responded to the yellowblood as his eyes adjusted to the dark, once they were in further. The rumble of the machine was certainly off-putting, and he was glad he'd remembered to bring his stun batons, even if they were pretty hard for him to wield correctly at his new size. He bit his lip, all too tempted to call out into the darkness, but knowing that it would probably piss off Byakko.

As the trio slowly advanced into the darkness under the house, they became aware of a light in the distance. It flickered, and as they neared, the sounds of someone moving about became apparent. Before they could get close enough to take a look however, someone spoke.
"I - I know you're there! I have security cameras you know! So ... come on out!"
The voice wasn't exactly menacing. Quavering would be a more accurate description. Abruptly stepping out from behind a large machine that he appeared to have been crouched behind, a large adult troll glared down at them. At least, he was trying. His face wasn't exactly intimidating, but neither were the fluffy purrbeast slipers, or the bobble hat he inexplicably wore on his head. Pushing his thick glasses up his nose, he crossed his rather flabby arms and decided to go for indignant rather than angry.
"Well? What are you doing here, hmm? Sneaking about on private property? I c c could have you thrown out for trespassing, see if I don't!"
Swelling up to his full height, he went to continue with his ranting, the troll hesitated, then leaned down, squinting furiously through his glasses. Then he began to waddle around the group, peering and poking at the trolls. As he did, he began to get visibly exited, rubbing his hands together and doing little hop-skips.
".... no, no wait. You're not just some naughty kids snooping around, are you? The wear and tear on your horns and teeth, you've all tried my Elixir, haven't you? Oh! Splendid! The process is perfect! I had doubts about initial testing, but you all seem to be functioning at peak condition! No coughing up blood? Random tooth loss? Eyeballs exploding?"

Khanda hated Chittentown. It was such an uncomfortable place to be with how dry everything was and sand got in her hair, not to mention the utter bust it had been on finding anything. She had been so sure she'd finally solved this whole thing! Feeling quite annoyed with the whole affair she traveled back to NHC to meet up with Thalia, hoping he'd have had better luck. It turns out he had fared much better than she had and her mood picked right up as they headed off to Four Fronds.
She felt a lot more comfortable in this town. It looked so much nicer and cleaner. That was, until they came to the hive Thalia had identified in his search. Khanda made a face at all the trash lying around the lawnring. How disgusting! Marching right up to the door she banged on it a couple of times. She was feeling angry again! She was gonna make this slob pay! Except. . . he wasn't answering her demanding knocks! The feeling of discouragement was creeping back up on her. Turning she looked at Thalia sadly before he face changed into that of determination. No! This wouldn't do! She wasn't gonna give up so easily! She'd find a way in and strangle answers out of him! "Thalia!" she said as she hopped off the front steps. "You go around that way and I'll go around this way. Find an open window or an unlocked door or something." Divide and concur, find a crack in the enemy defenses. It was just like the battle tactic Bessy made her read over and over again.
Setting off down her path it didn't take the small troll long to find the open trapdoor. She could also hear the rumblings of some machine and what sounded like voices. Jackpot! "Thalia! Hurry! I found it! Over here!" she called out excitedly. She was ready to just jump on through and confront the mysterious Mr. Miracle Elixir, but she felt it would probably be safer to let Thalia catch up. He was bigger than her so it would be better to stick behind him. Especially since it sounded like there was more than one troll down there.

Zeffer tensed nervously when the adult troll finally made his appearance. He certainly was taller and bigger than they were, but Zeffer bore his teeth all the same, suddenly ready to defend himself and his friends if it came down to it. He wasn't sure how easily he would be able to wield his batons, but it certainly had to be better than nothing, right? He listened to the man rant, barely able to contain himself, buzzing with excitement. When their suspect began to circle them, the little blueblood hissed loudly.
"Exploding eyeballs!? It could have done that!?" Zeffer yalped in a startled way, wondering how the adult had the gall to send out untested product, no matter how much he'd enjoyed the current effect. His concern was suddenly distracted by something....
The sound of an obnoxious voice was coming from behind them, announcing the presence of other trolls. Competition. Of course there would be other detectives on the same trail, and the thought of having the reward snatched away by some asslicking dweeb made Zeffer's blood boil. They'd worked too hard for that to happen! But...hadn't the nerdish miracle elixir freak said something about security cameras? An absolutely devilish little smile played across the blueblood's face; their claim on the bounty had already been made, the proof of their arrival neatly captured for them on tape. All they needed to do was to find where the tapes were, but that was probably deeper into the fat b*****d's lair.
"You're a ********' a*****e for all this, even if it was pretty cool to be a kid again." Zeffer said shortly, before leaning into Aprife and whispering to him. "Battleplan. Akko n' I are gonna attack this sad sack, you run off n' see if you can find where the security monitors are while he's distracted. Find the tapes." he murmured before leaning away, wondering if either of his friends had had the same idea. He turned his attention back to the blueblood, and growled as he stepped forward. "You're going down for this! C'mon guys, let's get 'im!!" Zeffer snarled, whipping the batons off of his belt and awkwardly flipping them to their 'on' modes.
Akko felt a chill run down her spine as she caught glimpse of a flickering light somewhere deeper within the basement's damp walls. Holding her stance, a low, rumbling growl vibrated in the mutant's throat, nearly drowned out by the clunking generators. Taking a few more hesitant steps into the hive, Byakko glanced back at her companions before gesturing at them to follow her lead. They silently continued on until there was a shuffling noise somewhere off in the distance as someone stirred; Byakko instantly whirled to face the direction of the movement on the heel of her geta. She made no noise, eyes piercing into the darkness for any hint of movement as the trio continued to press onwards into the hive. At some point she heard a female voice call out from above ground; undoubtedly there were other trolls hot on the blueblood's trail. All in all the reward was of little concern to her, although she couldn't deny it would be of considerable help... But would it be alright taking blood beetles for the rebellion, anyway? At any rate it was a problem for her to mull over at later date, if at all. For now Byakko paid those concerns little heed, instead focusing solely on the task at hand. Still ready to strike at any given moment, Akko froze in her tracks as the blueblood spoke up, his shaky voice filtering through the darkness.
As he stepped into the light, Byakko felt significantly less intimidated, albeit still highly on alert. Why, if she was full sized she could have chucked her kanabō at his head and have been done with it already...! However, like her companions she was confined to this child's body, and the blueblood could probably hold them out at arms width if he pleased, (or had enough arms). And who knew what he had up his XL sleeves... It took a troll of some caliber to pull of what he had managed on such a massive scale. Eyebrows firmly furrowed into a face twisted in displeasure, Akko kept her eyes locked up at their assailant as he puttered about. Shifting her weight onto her other hip, she kept her miniature kanabō aimed steadily at the adult as he circled them, ever glaring in silence. The adult seemed to have plenty enough to say, and Akko found herself thankful that deaging had been the only effect of the elixr... ******** batshit, schemey bluebloods. Glancing over at Zeffer whispering something to Aprife, she caught just enough at the end to clue in on their plan- the tapes. The corners of her lips twitched- brilliant, they could secure proof that they were the ones to find him first! Well, it was clear the boy's motivations lay with the reward- but she was much more concerned with beating a cure out of this sad excuse for a highblood. Which also seemed to be a part of Zeffer's plan, seeing as he had just pulled out his slightly oversized batons and was now brandishing them about wildly. Lips firmly pressed in a line, the rebel leader stepped up beside her allied blueblood, weapon in hand and ready to strike. "Where's the cure?" Byakko demanded, raising her kanabō threateningly. The mutant was more than ready to pounce, but maybe he would give it up without too much of a struggle...? Fat chance, (pun intended), but it was worth a shot.

First impressions really were everything, and the one he got looking at the blueblood who stepped out of the darkness was enough to momentarily dispel some of that earlier fear. He was bigger, yeah, in more than one sense of the word. Still, the way he talked and, more importantly, the way he dressed seemed less threatening and more ridiculous. Under any other circumstances, this would have been the perfect opportunity to indulge in a little pen on paper action, and before he knew it he had taken out his kiddie ruled notebook. All good things had to come to an end sometime, though. As the adult waddled closer to them, far too close, and started asking rather unnerving questions, the severity of the situation fell back on him like a ton of bricks.
Coughing up blood… tooth loss… exploding eyeballs. These were all things he scratched in his notebook without even looking down at it. Bumblesuckle puffed up defensively as the chubby blueblood ducked in to poke at the kids. The wiggling of his stinger, as usual, was hardly threatening, but it gave Aprife enough time to sidestep away from some of the scrutiny and closer to Zeffer. It just so happened the smaller blueblood leaned in at the same time, whispering their next course of action, and it made his eyes widen. That was it! The weird elixir troll's tapes! If he really was recording their arrival, those tapes would provide just what they needed. Aprife took a moment to appreciate the setup. If there was one to really troll watch, this was it.
"Alright," he hissed back, more than willing to duck out of this confrontation for now. The idea of snooping around the basement was strangely appealing when a real goal was attached to it. There was no information Aprife couldn't get, that's what he liked to think, and this was no different. "Remember not to mess the guy up too bad, though," it was added quickly, but he was glad he remembered to. How Byakko fought, he wasn't sure, but he knew Zeffer could get a bit out of control. "Remember what that poster said…" 'Alive.'
Eyes locked on the adult as his teammates moved in to confront him. With the way he was so intent on examining the teens-turned-children, it would be a bit difficult to find an opening to disappear into the darkness. Then again, with his friends blocking the path, he figured it wouldn't matter much if he was spotted or not. Still, he waited until he thought the eyes behind those oversized glasses were focused intently away from him and he took off, slipping quickly and quietly further into the basement. Security tapes… where would those be?
